Cute easy watch. Lee Won Geun was great and held his own. Ji Soo was his troubled side kick. Eunji is a lot of fun to watch though her character wasn't as spunky as it was in Reply 1997 but I still loved her here nonetheless. It's like watching a high school rom-com. Adorable and lifts your spirit up to "follow your heart" and do what you love. It touches on the culture of competition in academic achievements and just how far some people are willing to go.

This is just my personal take on it, but I thought that the story could have been better. In the beginning, they introduced two clubs that exist in the high school, which was great. But instead of showing us what their clubs were about and what kind of activities they did, the drama's focal point was based on the evil agenda of the adults and why the school would be "better off" without the club. Also, the main villain wreaking havoc on everything throughout the drama had weird development/realization. She was a flat character throughout, then suddenly in the last few episodes, she changed. It was an alright drama overall; got better towards the end.

If you're in for some a heartwarming, colourful school drama then this is the one you want to watch. You will find yourself falling in love with the beautiful characters and get easily carried away with the story. It was so good I was so sad to finish it.

The main character was happy-go-luck, joyful and extremely easy to like. Her love interest was absolutely amazing, with Lee Won-Geun doing a great job in portraying a maniac but loveable rich kid.
The show had a handful of plot lines such as family abuse, school stress, friendship and a bit of a love triangle. It was done in such a great way that I loved every single moment of it and did not get frustrated like I do with other dramas that just drag on and on.

This is a gem for school drama lovers. It is also 12 episodes only, so I urge anyone curious to go check it out. It will warm your heart and you'll feel empty when it's over. An absolute delight.

ㅠㅠ I re-watched this drama so many times that I had to make an review.

OST-
It was okay.

ACTING-
I don't know why but whenever I hear a drama Starring Eun Ji, I always know it'll be good. She played her character very well, and I was never disappointed. The main actor was great as well, although many actors can overdo cockiness or smugness but he never did that, he stayed consistent! The other actors, were great as well. Which made me sad since I wanted to see them mostly all the time, especially Ji Soo.

PLOT-
The plot is amazing! It portrays a teenage romance well, yet it isn't all about that! It has many more plot lines, and many funny scenes. It revolves around main lead and MC, but I felt like Ji soo's character should've had more spot light. I was fascinated by the plot, it wasn't a regular one, and sometimes it could get really deep. Don't let the name fool you, it will make you cry many times, and scream from cuteness of main romance other times.

I must say, the plot lines aren't just there, they are great, and I really appreciate them. It's not just a cheerful drama but a sad one if you watch it till the end.

This is the FIRST high school drama where I was excited to re-watch, and the only one I have re-watched so many times. It is so much deeper than students in a cheerleading club, the writers dive into so many different aspects you can never be bored, from fake friends, abusive parents, suicide, love, friendships, mental health, teamwork and dance. Every single aspect is well written and the story flows along nicely I hardly ever felt the desire to fast forward.

The casting is one of my favourite paths I loved Eunji in reply 1997 and I loved her even more here, her strong character who find the good in even the worse people is amazing she is truly someone I aspire to be as strong as. Lee won Guen was an egocentric, funny, handsome and kind main lead, I loved the character and can't wait to see him in more projects. Ji Soo was an excellent 2nd lead who's own story was not just to be 2nd but it had depth and meaning. Soo-bin can act well showing the true evil side of a student wanting to be 1st! All the other character were great I felt as tho each one of them had their own set story and personality even if you didn't see their story you can see the individuality in all of them.

I highly recommend this drama, so stop reading reviews and WATCH IT ALREADY!! please!

Oh, Cheer Up. KBS usually have a decent track record of high school dramas (crossing Who Are You from my brain right now as we speak). And as its predecessors, Cheer Up brought back the same issues that still need a conversation on in the very blossoming era like high school, as always: unhealthy rivalry, bullying, mental illness, domestic abuse, unhealthy expectations placed by parental figures, friendships and of course love.

As I'm towards the age I think this drama was aiming on, I was quickly invested by the diverse sets of characters with their own struggles. I think I was expecting too high though, because as the storyline progressed, I feel like it simply lost the humour that was in balance with the issues; and the storyline became more and more predictable and common.

I also feel like second half of the drama could have been written a lot better. The only character given development was Kwon Soo Ah, while the other seemed like they were there for her development, especially on the second half, which focuses on humanising her. It's the writer in me who likes to complain when characters aren't given chance to be developed to the deepest, but I think it's always a given for a wonderful set of characters to be developed further but they aren't. But oh well, I like how their relationships, their friendships, are written I also find that Yeon Do's mother and Yeol's father relationship to be very cute LOL.

The best performance out of this drama was of course Chae Soo Bin (Kwon Soo Ah), but as she was the one who was given the most material out of the entire cast, it's not a surprise.

I loved this it has a similar feeling as School 2013 just that this drama doesn't follow a class but two school clubs that was forced into one cheer club. the story is well thought out and handle a lot of struggles from family, friends, grades and love.
Some scenes needs trigger warning since the drama is also trying to show light to suicide and self harm. Despite this the overall atmosphere in the drama is bright and there is also a lot of comedy.
I loved the cast they executed the drama well my favorite is Jisoo his character really tugged at my heart strings.
I have already re watched this drama more then two times from start to finish and I'm not sick of it yet.
I have one compliant over this drama and that is the cheesy lines in the drama that kind of destroyed the feeling in a few scenes.

I really enjoyed this drama! It was my monday-tuesday-wednedsay vitamine of the week because I couldn't help watching the raw episodes and the subbed one!
I really liked the cast! Truthfully I didn't know Lee Won Geun and wasn't excited to watch him as the lead but...THIS SMILE! He captured my heart with just a smile and I was just happy seeing him on the screen!
The story was great and the love story, too cute for words...
I enjoyed every episode and already rewatched my favorite scenes a lot of time, and there are at least two scenes in each episode.
Don't hesitate to watch this drama!

An all star cast and a good story, dealing with some school issues, are presented fairly good in this drama. The all star cast did a good job with the performances, keeping a mood light here and there. The love story was probably the highlight of the drama, with a nice love triangle that, unfortunately, started to develop way too late for it to have a better impact. The choreography was not that good, which costed this drama some important points, as it should have been more dance focused and less bad politics. Finally, the issues that this drama dealt with were presented nicely and with the necessary sensitivity. So, 6 out of 10.

Ok honestly high school dramas are not my cup of tea, but I have to say I enjoyed this. We have the usual nosy, good hearted but not really good at studying female protagonist...we can say she's dumb, but I don't think that's the case, and I had a really good vibe from her mostly because she thinks carefully through stuff and she make her own decision (and probably the fact that she has low scores it's just because she's too busy being a teenager and having fun). I was kinda like her so maybe it's because I can relate to her character. The male lead, on the other hand, didn't gave me a special impression, it was just okay. The usual number one student with great ego and flirty personality and some dark family past. But if they wanted to use this as leverage to make us take pity on him, well he's nothing compared to the second lead, and here's my legendary second lead syndrome over Ji Soo's characters. Will he ever be able to get the girl? Only the time will tell xD
Fangirling aside, I always use as a meter of judgment for a good drama the message it contains and I have to say, in this is a pretty good one: I like how the guys didn't outcast completely Soo Ah despite her actions, they showed their humanity and tried to understand her instead of marking her as a villain and such. Basically I think it's more pleasant to have an antagonist who isn't like a disney villain, to see his/her backstory and having a reason for being that way. People are not good or bad, they just make bad or good choices and that leads them to become more or less evil. She is just a girl, and she suffered more than anyone for her bad decisions, so she's salvageable. Also the female lead always had the chance to humiliate her publicly and get revenge, instead she chose not to use this power she had over her to damage her. That's what this drama conveyed me and I think it's a good example to show to young people (we always forgot that those programs are meant to young people and that they're affected by everything they're surrounded, as the drama clearly shows us)
The only negative thought on this drama I have is that there are things not really well developed (like the issue with Dong jae just resolved itself in few minutes and his character isn't very explored) and some stuff like self harm, suicide, abusive parents, sexual harassment are treated a bit too lightly in my opinion. I would have kept the whole storyline more bright instead of putting in all that stuff and not develop them properly.

Watch it!!!

I really recommend you guys to watch it, I watched it twice and if I watch it another time I will be fine with it. it is an awesome drama. Watching this was an absolute joy! It will make you cry, laugh, and grin! When you're in high school you get serious about studying, so you'll get accepted into the university/college you aim for. I think all of us can agree that the cast did a superb job, and all agree that when Ji Soo gets a role in another romance drama, he needs to win over the heart of his crush so all of his fangirls don't internally die. Anyway, Ji Soo did a fantastic job and I felt so emotionally attached to his character.
