The witness is based on the korean movie Blind.
I write this review, while having seen both of the movies, at the end I will write a little comparison between the two.
The story is quite attractive and unique if it is your first time to see it. I loved how they could come up with tiny twitst and turns. The story overall was good but not great, it had some flaws. read moreThe oscar should go to the dog. Seriously, Chong Chong was a amazing actor in this movie and so cute too! I liked the two main leads, it is so hard to portray a blind person, so she did a amazing job on this one. But I so didn't feel the connection between the two main leads, and that killed it for me because it could have been so much better. What I eventually really liked was that there was no romance involved, yay!
I liked the music, because.. well we all know why :P.
There sadly was much promotion during the movie for certein brands, that also what I really disliked.
In comparison to the korean movie Blind, I was less involved with this movie. With Blind I really felt with the main leads and dog. Also Blind was wrapped up way better than witness, but I could understand where they were coming from. Overall I didn't disliked witness, but I just liked Blind better for the overall story and character development.
Watch this is you like action, drama, thriller and dogs.
Skip this movie if you are looking for romance.
I really enjoyed this movie. I have watched both Korean and this version, in my opinion I think this is better. First, I think I enjoyed this more because the movie is new, and I really like that they use it to alert the people who we meet through phone apps and stuff. Also, this one tells more about the criminal, about his story.
The movie is good, got me hooked all read morethe time. Lu Han acting was pretty good, I wasn't expecting it haha
The female lead also did a great job, I felt her emotions and pain.
You should watch because is a really nice thriller and action.
I liked it a lot, but I love the Korean version more. The performances of the actors and the general atmosphere were intense while being less violent.
But the korean actors have longer experience as actors, so it's normal that the levels are different. Especially the boys, I like LuHan, but he's still pretty green.
But the movie was a good remake I think, it wasn't just a copy/paste. Maybe the korean version has just made a too big impression on me, that's why I kept comparing them while watching. It's sad this movie didn't make me forget his original ! :/
Both stars look good. Maybe because I saw the korean version a few years back thats why I prefer that one, it was more intense, more dark but this adaptation was well played also. Maybe If I watched this first, I may have liked this one better.
BTW, I liked the relationship of the lead actors better here that in Korean. Yang Mi and Lu Han are both gorgeous.
There's some pretty nice shoes in this movie. I can't lie. Shoes and eyebrows.
Too many scalpels.
It's been a long while since I've seen the Korean one so I can't quite compare, but I think they're about equal in terms of quality but they both have a different 'feel' about them. I think the Korean one was a bit darker.
I gotta say though, I can't decide if I'm impressed or disappointed they didn't make it into a romance. Maybe I'm both. Maybe I'm just weird like that.
Actually liked this better than the Korean version! They gave the killer a back story--why he kidnapped the girls and what triggered it, whereas in Blind, he just kills them without any proper motive. I really loved Yang Mi here as the female lead!!
