Do you know how a drama just feels old? It has a more romanticised feel to it.
I was looking forward to this drama for the chemistry. Everyone always says Yoon Eun Hye can kiss. And let me tell you, she doesn't disappoint. Ah, she's great. She just takes the kid's gloves off the Kdrama. And she's so adorable.
I have so missed Yoon Eun Hye. Her personality is really entertaining. The girl is fierce and saucy. And how cute is she in hanbok!
The plot of course is just terrible and cringe worthy but the drama really caught my attention when Yoon Eun Hye's crying face came out. She's incredible at those moments.
Actually, the second half of the drama just had the right vibe of melodrama for me. I do hate the overused love triangle but I haven't seen it in a while so it felt nice to see again.

Gi Joon
I didn't find him particularly captivating to begin with. I did like his devotion to his brother.
People lose all their dignity when it comes to karaoke.
Who knew this guy would have such a playful and joking side to him?
Towards the second half, he really puts in a lot of effort in pursuing Ah Jeong.
Also, I don't think I get tired of father-boyfriend meet and greets. They crack me up.

Sang Hee
It was great to see Sung Joon relaxed and smiling so much.

Romance
Towards the end of watching Lie to Me, I was also watching a family drama. So the cheesy romantic moments really were great.

“If I go home, I would miss you more. I would be more tired if I miss you.”

Hooray for no slow-mo kiss!

A Drama Full Of Memorable Moments

I enjoyed this drama very much because the lead actors Yoo Eun Hye and Kang Ji Hwan had good chemistry and did a really good job. I did not have background or knowledge about this drama prior and clicked on it by curiosity. Thought I'd watch a little and let it go .... but somehow I got engrossed!

A handsome rich hotelier, Hyun Gi Joon and a beautiful tourism government officer, Gong Ah Jung. A couple faked to be together through course of circumstances. Embarrass that she is still single, Ah Jung co-oerced Gi Joon to be her husband, lying to her friends who are married. Keeping to his pretense, playing along, both eventually fall in love with each other. And then, his ex-fiance returns in the midst .......

Somehow, I liked the way Gi Joon managed his relationship from beginning to the end. Ah Jung's re-action to all her emotions were touching and sincere. And the best part is the drama had many hilarious, cute and memorable scenes. From the time they meet by accident, to the moments that they slowly realize they were falling for each other, the re-action to the return of the ex-fiance, then the entire process of owning their love. Simply memorable.

However, my only snag was the last few episodes after all the highly strung emotions, Ah Jung's heart slow burned a little, but thanks to Gi Joon, he kept the momentum going.

Overall, I highly recommend watching this feel good drama, especially for the memorable scenes which I watched over 3 times already.

Cheers! K-drama Forever!

I watched it some time ago on Netflix. Liked it a lot, but did not go crazy about it. When I rewatched it couple years later on Viki I loved it! To be honest, I would re watch drama up to 3 times max and hardly twice, but this one manage to hit the record - 5 times! I still don't understand why I like those episodes, although I watched much better shows, but there is something in the plot and acting that no matter how many times I watch it I love it more and more and it does not make me bored of it. The most memorable is the housewarming party, and the soda kisses. From beginning to end I like what I see. Acting is ok, chemistry too, and plot of the story fine without major surprises.
I have to admit, although I am not totally sure why I can rewatch this drama over and over but there is something in there that I love, I just can't exactly say what exactly..... I simply like it - that's all. Kind of weird right? (smile)

The story is very cliche and very predictable, although the romantic scenes are very memorable. I was surprised to know that this drama has many kissing scenes.

The chemistry between the two leads are undeniably perfect. They look so cute together.

The music is good but it's not something memorable. It won't make you nostalgic about the drama. Their duet song makes you smile when you listen to it.

The only thing that ruins this Korean drama is the ending. For those who haven't watched this, don't expect too much.

This drama was very conflicting, I couldn't decide if I liked it or not.

First of all the story was poor, and I mean very poor. I had gone into watching this drama knowing this and having read other reviews along the same lines..but seriously the plot was very contrived. It also reminded me of Kim Sam Soon, where they have a marriage contract, go to juju island, exes come to fore etc...

I feel like this drama maybe swapped screenwriters half way through because from episodes 1-7 I was hooked, it was funny, it was sweet and a good beginning of a great drama. But then halfway through EVERYTHING got resolved, it was like they basically threw the plot out the window and started anew, and also from this point on we get boring cutesy moments not take your breath away moments.

The acting, was amazing, I already knew that Yoon Eun Hye was a great actress (Coffee Prince) and I completely fell in love with Kang Ji-Hwan. But really this was all that this drama offered me was to watch these actors interact, because the plot was basically non-existent.

The music was pretty good I thought, if not much variety. I know I got the karaoke song stuck in my head for a couple of days for sure. It was so sweet!

I will definitely rewatch a few key scenes in this drama, e.g the coke kiss, the karaoke kiss but really I would not rewatch the series.

Despite this I gave the rating of 7/10 overall because it gave me this guilty pleasure of watching them (especially Kang Ji-Hwan) in action, and the best two kiss scenes I have ever seen! *Daydreams some more* But definitely I think you should watch this drama if you want a fluffy drama with great actors, just don't expect much from it.

This was one of my favorite dramas. I found both of the lead characters to be funny. The one character that I found irritating, was the ex girlfriend. There were several side characters in this drama that made this fun..secretary Kim and the manager/friend and the main characters brother. They all helped this to be a delightful drama. There are some great kissing scenes in this drama, in my opinion. I liked that the main male lead wasn't wishy washy like in so many other dramas. When you decide you like a girl, let the world know.

I think I really love this drama. The story is soo sweet and the chemistry between the lead actor and actress is just smooth. It's so entertaining to watch both of them but I don't quite like the ending. There are so many pointless scenes just to say, hey OK I wanna marry you. It was not consistent with the few first scenes which showed that the girl was pretty straightforward to the man, by asking him to have lunch together because she thinks he likes her. Just some few wasted scenes that I decided to fast forward. My favorite scene, that kiss after coke battle :p

The only word that comes to mind when I think of "Lie to Me" is 'AGH.'. How could a show with such a promising premise and cute story bring so much annoyance when it is mentioned?
The last episode. It was easily the stupidest thing I have ever had the misfortune to sit through.
Unlike what most people say, this first fifteen episodes do have character motivation. Is it weak? Yes. Is it realistic?
Yes. Haven't you ever made up a story simply to show off to your friends? It's pretty much the same concept here, just blown up to KDrama standards. The lie Ah-Jung told just got bigger and bigger, while her pride refused to let her admit the truth. When you think about it, the craziness here isn't any different from the craziness in any other drama.
Other than the mess that was the 16th episode, I really didn't understand the second lead girl, Yoon Ju. For once, I would like to watch a drama where the second lead girl is actually not a bitch. I mean, there HAS to be a reason the main guy fell in love/used to be in love/currently loves/ hinks he loves/respects to the point of love/loves to an unrealistic degree/loves even though he has been friendzoned/loves even though she left for America/loves even though-
Well. You get my point.
The second leads in dramaland make me wonder if pretty much all it takes for a guy to fall in love with you is a pretty face.
Acting: The cast here was star studded, with Yoon Eun Hye and Kang Ji Hwan acting as the main leads. They carried the otherwise nonsensical story with their amazing abilities. However, it was Hong Soo Hyun (So Ran) who really stole the show. She conveyed So Ran's craziness perfectly and had me cracking up every time she had a scene.
Music: The music here fit the overall tone of the show. Cute and light. Don't believe me? The main song from the OST is pretty much about ice cream. *Wonders whether or not to be impressed.*
Rewatch Value: I will definitely watch PARTS of this again. And I say "parts" because I downright REFUSE to even consider watching the last episode again. That's how much of a mess it was. The show honestly would have done much better if it ended at the 15th episode. However, the show had tons of cute couple scenes in it that had me smiling like an idiot.
Overall: I'd compare "Lie to Me" to whipped cream. Sweet and frothy- but no subsistence. Just empty calories. But that doesn't mean we're not going to eat it, does it?

Watching this drama reminds me of a lesson in life:
"The higher the expectations, the bigger the disappointment."

I have never been so proud of myself for being able to finish a drama. Seriously. After months of pushing myself to finish this one (because, as much as possible, I don't want to drop a drama unless I really, really don't like it), I managed to watch the last two episodes of this drama yesterday.

Yes, I'm a fan of Yoon Eun Hye, too, and she's the main reason why I decided to watch this, aside from the fact that my friend was spazzing over LTM after finishing it. I had high hopes for this one. I started watching it without knowing the comments of other people aside from that of the certain friend of mine and, well, after watching an episode after another, I found myself finding it difficult to watch the next.

I didn't know that they changed scriptwriters until just a few moments ago. I guess that's the reason for whatever happened to the story which didn't really appeal to me. Although I have to admit that there are scenes that I found cute.

Yes, the leads have chemistry, but I found myself cringing at their cheesiness halfway through the show. The side characters aren't even developed and seemed to me like they just existed for display. Err... at least I had someone who kept me watching it -- Park Hoon. (And it's not even because the actor's good or anything, but because I found him cute; I had to find something to look forward in seeing in order to finish this.)

It's a given that YEH is a superb actress. It was my first time watching Kang Ji Hwan and, in my opinion, he's a good actor. The other casts are good, too, but there was something in Soon Joon's and Jo Yoon Hee's that seems lacking to me. Or I guess that's just because of their parts in the script.

In my opinion, the soundtracks are good. I especially liked Goodbye, Really Goodbye by M to M.

I don't really think I will re-watch this. Not even after 5 years or so. Or maybe I could re-watch the "cola scene", but... yeah.

Overall, this is a fair show. There's nothing special in the story. I guess those who are new to watching dramas will like this. Or those who generally like rom-coms. Or those who can tolerate cheesy situations.

I say my good luck to those who plan to watch this series. :)

There's nothing particularly original about the story, but what made it thoroughly enjoyable and had me looking forward to each episode (even the last 2 or 3 when the show went downhill) was the perfectly cast roles. The two leads had fabulous chemistry and that gave the show something special that will make it memorable for me. The supporting cast was also wonderful. Especially entertaining for me was watching Temptation of an Angel's Hong Soo Hyun in a completely different role (give that woman more and bigger parts!)

It would have been better if this had been a 20 episode drama so they could meat out some other parts. Bits of the story were left hanging and the last few episodes seemed to be rushed and drag at the same time. I would have liked to see more with some of the other characters (especially Manager Park).

But overall, a very entertaining and heartwarming drama with some cute quirks of its own (the atmosphere in that little cafe/art studio reminded me of watching a Gilmore Girls episode). Definitely worth a watch if for nothing else but to watch the sparks between Yoon Eun Hye and Kang Ji Hwan (and some of the best kiss scenes I've seen in a Kdrama).

I liked the cute moments Yoon Eun Hye and Kang Ji Hwan shared in the drama but that was about it. The plot was boring and not well thought out.
