Both historical romance dramas by the same writer. But Faith involves time-travel.

Very similar in all aspects:
- Goryeo under Yuan rule
- Yuan Prince/King
- Love rivalry between 2 male leads
- Physically strong female lead that gradually becomes entangled in romance and politics
- Serious plot

I'm going to watch this because of Hong Jong Hyun! TBH I'm not a fan of Yoon Ah's acting so I need to prepare myself for this drama.

I've seen some of her previous works and so far, I haven't been impressed. I'll give it another go mostly because I like HJH.

I thought I was the only one considering just watching for HJH... though I think I'll wait for more episodes to air first

Another annoying crown prince, I'm not even interested in the development of this character. What hooked me is the evil guy and the brother's scheme and Rin's situation.

YOONA'S ACTING IS SUPERB ESPECIALLY WHEN HER BEING TOUGH AND ALL HERE YOU CAN TELL IN THE PREVIEWS
SERIOUSLY THIS DRAMA KINDA DESERVES HIGH RATING THOUGH

After a second look at the synopsis I can see where the confusion is coming from. It's not all fluff. Here's the least spoilery additional info I can come up with:
Won's mother comes from Yuan, so he's not trusted as an heir to the throne and his father shuns him as a halfbreed (and fears him as a future rival). There's a strong opposition against him in the court too.
He makes an impression on Rin, who befriends him despite his family's animosity towards the prince and stays as his bodyguard and close friend, helping him to sneak out the palace to observe common people. That leads them to witnessing a tragedy one day - here lies the connection with the girl and a root of a possible conflict.
San is a daugther of a wealthy nobleman. Soon, a marriage ban will start, so other family plots a scheme to meet her and make her fall for them before it happens. They aren't afraid to spill blood. San manages to make it alive, but she has to live in hiding from now on, switching places with her maid (a rumour was spread she's terribly disfigured after the accident) and leaving the city. She stays in a remote place run by a freethinking fallen high official of the court, where she eventually meets Won and Rin years later.
So yeah, there's more to her than just being beautiful and rich, appearing one day and having good time in their company.

In the second episode (3-4 in the Network broadcast), Rin's Father tells him to befriends the prince.

And yes, the Synopsis is a bit of vague, but after the synopsis of Suspicious Partner, i can expect everything.

Hm, maybe you're right. I only remember scenes with his brother now. It could be useful for them to have an inside man, but for now Rin doesn't side with his family.

Lol at SP. But apparently they reached amnesia part eventually, I just didn't stick for that long.

i dont know why but for some reason i feel like im watching chinese historical drama.

me too, it might me because of the way it's filmed and the clothes (especially the queen!) of the Goryeo Dynasty that were more similar to ancient chinese clothes than the ones of Joseon.

It's because of effects (e.g. the bridge scene)...

Can someone tell me if the story-line is worth it. I read a lot of comments regarding the actors but is the story interesting enough? Is it something new or rather boring like Hwarang??

      Alekwang Jul 20, 2017

The story is great and it had a good beginning. It's not boring at all.

Bodyguards following them in mountains staying outside then both Won and Rin separately ordered there men to follow San....It look like game won vs Rin.
When queen hit Rin it's hurt so much but when won apply medicine to Rin ....that bromance moments and when in cave Rin gave his jacket to Won and San watching them....bromance + romance gonna make a hit

I'm totally in deep love with this drama....Every character superb outstanding I love RIN most.......I also like Won but Rin is my topest favourite ...It hurts so much when he is standing in rain and memorising past....I saw her first I want to hold her hand first....O Rin don't worry whatever kind of situation writer create for you I'm always with you from the starting to the end ......love destined to meet Rin

Watched the previews and making. Can't wait for next week.

Reading the comments below, whenever I see comments like " I don't watch, can't watch, hate so and so, etc" I always laugh. If you can't stand the person but you make an effort to come to the forum to leave a message for that drama, it pretty much shows the person has no interest in the drama. The intent is just to gather support for their own prejudices and to feel good if someone agrees with them. That's quite a sad situation. Find positive things to do, you will live longer.
