This movie kinda reminds me of the thai movie " A Crazy Little Things Called Love" and a bit of "American Pie"

I think this is my first time that I watched a Taiwanese film.
I read somewhere that this film were a phenomenal hit in their country and in Hongkong too if i'm not mistaken.

After watching several romance flick recently which often left me disappointed or just see them average, read more finally this one has an edge. Enjoyable, sympathetic and realistic with some exaggerated presentation.

The story is based on true story which i give it a plus. The plot were simple enough but full of substance and disturbing scenes lol. Spoiler Alert!! one will die ehehe, there is no pathetic scenes or sudden scenes of twist from nowhere, everything is real and everybody can relate especially "boys".

PS: The film was based on the school life experience of the writer/director himself. ^^

PS2: (= my score rating may adjust in the future, pls comment if you find it not that accurate thank you =)

FINALLY...I saw a movie that gives me the same feels that ozosaki no himawari give me. The chemistry between characters, their friendship, their conflicts is somewhat similar to that Japanese drama. Although ozosaki is more inspiring and its lessons is more about life but that ending in this movie is perhaps the most touching inspiring ending I ever saw and the lesson is what every guy in this planet should take note read more of.

As I watched the movie I must say that there is no freaking way in hell to tell that this was based on true story because some characters are exagerrated like as if they were straight from a Manga. Like for example...who the hell in real life is that boner guy and who walks nude in their home. Hahaha

About the movie its a feel good movie no boring moment IMO and the timespan was well done. The main strong points of this movie like I mentioned above was the chemistry between characters and that inspiring ending.

The characters

The main guy, the d*ck arrogant friend, the fat dude, the groin corny guy and lastly my favorite and IMO the most funny of them all, the boner guy. Them together is a fun watch...their antics and their favorite hobby(which is masturbation) makes me LOLed so hard. This movie also have lots of reference to manga like hanamichi sakuragi hairstyle and the Dempsey roll move.

The ending

Good or bad you decide but to me its good because of how inspiring it is and I admit being a guy this ending got me it makes me teary eyed a bit.

I recommend this movie to all guys in the world.

All of the Reply series and You Are the Apple of My Eye have that certain nostalgic factor; they're all beautiful, hilarious, clever, coming-of-age stories. You can't help but grow attached to the cast as you experience several moments with them--from their school years, to their first heart breaks, all the way up until they're finally adults and working their butts off. These stories both have a slight melancholic feel, precisely because of how eerily relatable and realistic the challenges they face seem to be.

I think if you enjoyed watching Reply 1988, you'll especially love You Are the Apple of My Eye and the similar message that it tries to convey. I think You Are the Apply of My Eye is just slightly more light-hearted and has a more crude humor

Very very good .... lovely, funny, honest, deep ...
Yes, it is yet another coming-of-age high school romance but it is done w/ gut-splitting humour, good writing, unique characters and a refreshing approach to reality.

For a directorial debut, there was a couple of genius scenes in this film!

This was a great movie that portrays what usually happened in real life. Thumbs up to this movie for being funny yet heartwarming at the same time. Just a little bit frustrated with the ending tho. But still, a must watch movie!!!

This was a good movie, really, I loved it.It maybe the first taiwanese drama that I really liked. It feels nostalgic and I feel in love with it. I cant still get over with the ending but then, things like that actually happen in real life and since this is based on a true story, it cant be helped. Its realistic and captivating. I watched this first before the movie of the same genre OUR TIMES, and I liked both, may this one is better? since the ending has bothered me (I just want them to be together) or the maybe I could give a bonus point to Our Times since I loved the actors who played the adult version? Which is which you'll definitely not gonna regret watching this.

This is movie was absolutely captivating. The chemistry between the lead actors was amazing and the supporting cast was awesome. It was very entertaining all the way through. The only downfall is the ending. It's not terrible, it just didn't end how I would have originally wanted it to. But it was still a good ending. Very bittersweet.
