I found the drama really cute, the slapstick moments were great, I'll also have to say that the acting was surprisingly good, considering for most of the lead cast, this was a debut drama, and all in all I'd say it was quite a nice watch.
What was less than perfect? The story is overly simplistic and I feel that it seems unfinished, or at least unpolished. There are moments when you read more could just imagine how the story should really develop, but you see a very superficial and a stitch-work dialogue that just fills in redundantly in exchange.
It also feels a bit dragged on at times, but still an enjoyable drama overall.
All in all, I'd say give it a go, you'll certainly enjoy the comedy, though don't expect to get a performance of a lifetime from the actors.
This series is really best described by 3 words: funny, short& sweet.

Both cover the struggles of a drifting high school boy against his school and the world at large as he is forced to wake up due to a new and somewhat unusual situation. Both are hilarious, corny, over-the-top, and comic book like, but meaningful at the same time. Samurai High School is Japanese and a little supernatural based on a manga, while Mackerel Run is Korean and uses more of a romantic theme.

some very wacky visual which i liked. But for me it got more interesting around episode 4, when it settled down. Although the humour doesn't disappear completly.
I did think the second male lead was a bit too pretty for his own good.
I guess I'll have to get used to the two guys in love with one girl. Although this
time, there is two girls attracted to one guy. Actually it could be three girls.
The four leads are all likeable, although they don't all like each other.
My favourite characters were the tarot reader and her friend.
The lead actress has beautiful eyes.

Just another despicable selfish and obsessive triangle type story... Skipped through 80% of it just for that most despicable reason.... 1 outta 10... Was nice to see Moon Chae Won in her younger days of acting, it has shown just how awesome of an actress she is today, just magnificent of an actress she is, she can only get better...

I'm pretty sure that this is the only drama where LMH is not a d**k with the female lead... sorry but he usually plays the bad rich guy with a complicated past and stuff

He's not really always a jerk though.... compared to other thousands of with Jerk and girl madly in love, LMH's dramas mostly had strong willed female leads which matched his characters quite well. I think it's probably also the main reason why I enjoy LMH's dramas so much.

Wow! Lee Min Ho and Moon Chae Won acting really matured throughout the years. You can really notice the difference. This drama was "okay". Ofcourse no comparison to both actors' recent works.
