Since Jong Bae acted as his friend's guarantor, the debt now falls onto them. With Jong Bae gradually growing despondent following their financial read moreturmoil, Jeong Yeon makes the hard decision to do a job for a seedy acquaintance. She agrees to deliver diamonds from Paris to Seoul, which she thought would be legal. Jeong Yeon arrives in France, but as soon as she sets foot in Orly Airport she is arrested and police discover more than 30 kilograms of cocaine in her bag. This is an incredible movie!
The story itself it very dark because it is based on true events (and partly fictional). So the story in this movie is unique. But because of the fact that it is based on true events it wil emotionally move you. I cried, sat on the tip of my seat, held my breath and I could feel the despair and anger.
The cast did an amazing job. read more It was almost like they were the ones who had been trough this all. Their emotions were acted in an excellent way.
The music they had chosen fit every scene.

I think everyone should watch this movie. It has suspense, drama, romance and so much more. It is definitely not a waste of your time, please watch this movie!

An extraordinary movie that sums up the courage of a middle cast woman who under goes the lamentable circumstances in a world where 'justice' and 'humanity' are just dictionnary entries.. The movie is bit long but it is not at all boring since every scene contributes to the climax of the story. 'The Road Home' is based on a true story, so it is a perfect portrait of the world as it read more is. A must watch for everyone who got the courage and the will to open the eyes to see the real face of this materialistic world,

Everything in this film made me cry and my dog just sat there demanding why the heck my hand was drying my leaky face and not petting hers.

Excellent performances. Frustrating and infuriating story of bureaucratic ineptitude of criminal proportions. The beginning of the film through almost the end was very well done. Despite her idiocy of trusting criminals, and her bewildering decision to do what she did to get them out of debt, the end results of what happened to her were so unjustified. My research into what actually happened to her, especially after she came back to Korea, dampened my enjoyment of the movie a bit. She has struggled for acceptance and her family have been ostracized, so the so called netizens and the press were not the saviors this movie makes them out to be, though I'm sure they helped speed things up considerably when they did get involved. I found the ending to be forgivably melo, the wailing violins and piano creating unnecessary drama to an already melodramatic ending. Even so, the overall feeling from this movie was one of frustration and sadness at just how quickly a person can be abandoned in a foreign country, at least if you are Korean. 8/10

sleeping pills. She says it very quickly in one of her voice overs...something like the sleeping pills they give us, etc. They don't explain why, but I suspect it's because they get 'tired of' the nightmares and screaming. And perhaps because the night shift guards want to sleep themselves? :(

This was interesting but it could be worse. If you get caught smuggling drugs in places like Thailand you could get executed. And the jails are terrible.I remember watching brokendown palace back in the day.

Yesterday I watched it again, and I can't help it but edit my review points that I gave. This deserves a solid 10 for story and acting, it moved me so much even though it is the second time I watched it.

this was an emotional roller-coaster. i'm happy it worked out in the end but it kills me how they were mistreated. i really hate the Korean embassy employee and his boss, they were the biggest assholes along side the female guard.
And also a big shout out to Jeon Do Yeon, her performance was so raw and powerful, it managed to move this heartless guys heart.
