First I have to say I'm not good at writing reviews but I tried because there wasn't a review for it yet.
SHARK was a disappointment for me, from the way the story was explained I thought it would be quite interesting but I was wrong sadly.
What I liked about this drama was Mizuki, I hated yet loved him because of his attitude, he became the only interesting part of the drama and the only reason I managed to finish it. I also really liked the music, the songs were catchy, I found myself knowing parts of "Keep walking" by the end of it because they sang it so much.
Every episode they thought they we're progressing but no, something else went wrong >_< well I guess that's why they're called dramas, but it was a little annoying how they had these new problems arise every episode out of nowhere.
I don't really know how I feel about the drama, it was hit and miss, (mostly miss) I think if they had developed they story more and made it more interesting then it would have had a lot more potential.

This is a Musical Drama, that isn´t with pop music, but rock music and shows you difficulties that you could always face while trying to achieve your dream! It has very good morals in it, and many quotes, that are very thoughtful. If you want to achieve your dream, you can learn a lot from this drama!
Story: It is a story, that isn´t actually so unique, quite similar is the kdrama "Shut up flowerboy band". There are a few people who watched this, who think that it isn´t very similar to Shut Up Flowerboy Band, but it really is similar: both show a band, that want to achieve their dream and the dream of the late vocalist: to debut and show they world their Music, while trying to do that they face difficulties and need to challenge themselves.
Acting/Cast: All the actors portrayed the characters very well, but somehow I don´t like Ichika Komatsu xD
Music: The Music is awesome!! It is definetely the thing that I liked the most right after all the morals. I´m disappointed that you barely can find the song on YouTube!! >< :(
This is a Drama that I really like but there is one thing that I didn´t really like. It´s true, while you are trying to achieve a dream there are many difficulties, but still, I really wonder about the logic that in every episode there was a new problem, that came out of the blue! I mean, there are things that really happen suddenly but there are some that don´t and I think this drama is a bit exaggerating in that point. Oh and, I think this whole Drama is a bit rushed, a problem arises then they solve it and then the episode ends and it repeats itself.
But I still think that it definetely is worth at least a try!!

I'm not gonna lie, I was a bit skeptic when I started this drama. When I think of underground independent j-rock bands, Johnny's Jr (technically they aren't all Jrs now but you get the point) isn't what comes to mind (and neither is stage musical actors, I was surprised to see Kakizawa Hayato there). That being said, this is a very good drama.

The plot probably isn't something you haven't seen before: indie band trying to break through and find their place in a very strict and unfair industry while facing personal strife and group struggle. Still, the story advances in a well-paced speed that doesn't leave you bored or unwilling to continue. At least, for me, that wasn't at all the case.

The characters are all pretty interesting in their own way, given that there's always characters who aren't as developed as others in this kind of format, and the acting is, in general, ok. It's not great, it suffers from some inexperience here and there, but the heartfelt moments are well done and the soul of the story is portrayed well enough. I really liked Hirano Sho in the lead and I think most people do. He has a character that could easily be the most annoying lead ever yet he makes it very convincing and belieaveable and achieves some great dramatic moments.

The music was definitely my favorite part of the drama. It's really REALLY good and I never got tired of it.

I felt the ending was a bit too open but I'm giving it a pass for the time being, considering there's a 2nd season I haven't yet gone through (although I'm aware it doesn't feature the same band and that already makes me a bit uneasy because these guys were pretty interesting).

All in all, a good musical drama with good music but where acting and plot aren't out of this world. Still, I really liked it and, if I was being more subjective, I'd give it a higher score because this is my kind of drama, but I'm trying to be completely fair. Those who like j-pop alone and are here for the cast should know this is definitely a j-rock based drama and those who came for the j-rock and are surprised about the cast should know the music is good and the genre is, all in all, well represented. It's a strange combination but I think it works out for the most part. I'd recommend it.

This is my first attempt to review a favorite drama, so please bear with me.
SHARK is about a band coming together and making a comeback after the death of the lead vocalist. The focus is how the bad-tempered "God-sent" vocalist, Mizuki, learns to get along with the rest of the band and helps them Keep Walking forward to achieve their dreams. The narrative drive is Mizuki, a cocky instigator, using his confrontational nature to force change within the band as they get closer to their coveted debut.

Story/Arc: Character Transformation and Pursuing a Dream While Facing Shadows of the Past

Acting/Cast: Strong. The expressions of actors, especially Hirano Sho, carry the story.

Music: At first, I didn't care for the opening song as much, but as time went on, Keep Walking, came to embody the story's cry. The final time it was sung, I was nearly in tears.

Rewatch Value: The rewatch value is in seeing the charcters change and their friendship grow. It's going back in time and watching them grow up again.

Minor Spoilers: SHARK's ending is a bit sad but beautiful. Also, if you come to love the SHARK brotherhood and kizuna (bond) theme, skip the sequel. It mostly derails all everything established in the first one by putting the focus on a completely different band, throwing SHARK into the background, and keeping the SHARK name. However, if you come to hate SHARK, you may enjoy SHARK 2 more. :)

If the ending more easy to perceive.

The truth I was someone who doesn't like watching musical drama or something similar.
It's take me so much time to makes me accept the challenge to watch it.
And amazingly I get me entertain. Especially the vocalist Mizuki. He always make me laughing. I really enjoy his character.
And I hope his band mates more noticeable about him. It more like just Mizuki seriously think them as friends. They know nothing about him. It's make me feel frustrated.
But the good point is, this drama telling us to never give up. For what you do or for what you dream for. Even it was difficult because to get it there, never had a shortcut.
The conclusion is this storyline was good. Full of hurdle. It's make you think live not just about the happiness or jovial thing. Sometime we need to make a decision and take an action.
The acting was lovely. Especially the episode each of them. Just Kei part I give less point. I don't know why, but I just didn't feel exited.
And thanks to this drama. It's make my stress gone for awhile. And get more motivated.
So, I really recommend it.
