Story: It's clearly said that this is Nodame Cantabile's remake, but somehow i didn't feel that way. The center of story were pretty much the same, but i liked how this drama managed to have a great development between the characters more. That being said, i personally think that we can't really compare these versions, since it have 'its' own way to tell the stories and have a quite big difference on read more delivering it to us. I haven't watch Nodame Cantabile, so i was kinda happy to have this as a 'new' drama and have nothing to compare at all. The story progressed at a good pace, though there were some draggy scenes. This is a totally about growth of characters. Some people wondered why this drama gave them feeling that this is not a 'musical' drama, while Nodame Cantabile was totally great at managing those aspects. It was music that brought to them together, and i could say that this version was intended to gave us the more realistic things about how these characters manages to got themselves aware about their fear and being able to overcome it together. It has depth in its story, even though it still felt a little bit 'unoriginal' since it's a adaptation.

Acting/Cast: Great. Amazing. I've got nothing to say when these character were slowly became the biggest point of how this drama could be so great even though i don't expected this drama to came out this good. Joo-won was great as always, and Shim Eun-kyung was amazing to have made her 'own' Nodame without trying to be the j-drama Nodame though she unconciously did that on few first episodes. Il-rak was just likeable character, while i don't expect Yoon-hoo to be a lovely character towards the finale. Everybody has done a great job on potraying their character.

Music: Definitely great. No comment for this because i just LOVED all of the songs. Including the OSTs!I've been listening 'Listen To My Heart' by Melody Day for weeks, and has never got bored of it.

Rewatch Value: It was cute and lovely. I'll rewatch this when i have times, although i really don't rewatch the completed dramas that i've watched.

Overall: 8.5/10
It was an unexpected good drama, and one of dramas that i won't forget 'cause of the feelings that it gives to me.
[SORRY FOR BAD GRAMMAR :)]

This review is based totally on this adaptation. I have never seen any of the others or read the manga. What I like about this drama is that it is easy to watch. There are no villains and the adversity that the characters face is resolved quickly. The story isn't new or special. However, I enjoyed the over all good feeling that I felt while watching the characters grow as they faced read more trials and over came obstacles both personal and as a group. I don't usually enjoy lot of characters and side stories, but in this case it seemed appropriate. I'm so glad the writer didn't make Cha Yoo Jin too much of a jerk or Seol Na Il stupid. Also, I like that Yoo Jin pretty much takes care of Na Il from the start even if it subconsciously. I don't know how much this varies from the original, but I like this version.

I have never seen Shim Eun Kyeong in anything else, but I couldn't picture anyone better for this role. She was totally adorable as quirky, naive and genious Na Il. I know not everyone is a Joo won fan, but I love him. He has played a variety of roles and doesn't disappoint as Yoo Jin. It seemed real as he fumbled around learning to have friends and care for people. The other actors are good also. Go Gyeong Pyo is good as Il Rak.

The music is outstanding. It is worth watching this drama for that alone.

I will probably rewatch this at some point.

No matter what genre you enjoy, I recommend this drama. It is a comfortable and easy watch.

Comparing this with the Japanese 2006 version, I really liked the way the ending was changed (just a tad). I feel there was more slapstick comedy in the Japanese version, but thoroughly felt the Korean version was more romantic, especially from Cha Yoo's perspective.

I saw this drama two years ago, and last year and now I'm feeling like I must watch it again. Everything about this drama was excellent!--the storyline, actors, music, hilarious comedy, cuteness-- I could go on and on! I've watched it with all my friends and family. Everyone loves it--from little kids to teenagers to adults! It's one of the best dramas out there . All of the actors are amazing. I rated it 10 out of 10. Watch it, I think you'll love it.

I was apprehensive about watching this drama because I absolutely could not stand the Japanese drama version (one of the few dramas I dropped too!).

But this drama, although based on Nodame Cantabile, was more realistic and I could see all the emotions portrayed so much better. I loved the drama, the story, the characters, pretty much everything! <3 It was too flipping cute! I'm so glad I watched it!

I saw this drama last year and I did'nt put it in my dramalist coz its not my genre. But I was bored and I'm looking for something different. And I was landed into this drama again. I start watching this drama with no high expectation but with my surprise this drama captured my heart...

Through this drama it help me to appreciate and fall in love to classical music which for me its a boring one. Now I realize why HI-SO paid so much in their concert.. Now its in my bucket list to experience watching Classical music LIVE..

All of the Cast done their part very well, I cried, laugh and amazed with their scene..

This show isnt really anything new, its honestly kind of cheesy... the main love line and side love lines are cute, it just an easy and cute watch... not super memorable, but not bad.

For those who've seen anime version: am I missing something or is the Park Bo Gum's character added here (for the 2nd lead feels' sake)? I'm stuck at ep 12 of anime and there's no cellist nor much need for him in a plot. I'm confused.

As someone who saw and loved the anime, there is no cellist in that version. And you're right, there would really be no need for him in that plot. I think this might be the only version with that kind of second lead (still haven't seen the JDrama, so I'm not speaking for that one). Hope this helps!

Didn't watch the Japanese version prior to watching this and I enjoyed it. It was light, funny, and just over all pleasing. No major bad guys and issues were resolved fairly quickly. Nice to watch while waiting for new eps of other dramas
