Love beyond age

Yoon Dong Ha is the perfect man. I loved every bit of his personality, he was absolutely charming and lovely. Ban Ji Yeon showed an incredible character development without losing herself, which is something that we don't see much in kdramas. Their chemistry was amazing throughout the whole drama, not one single bit of their interactions felt forced or anything similar. It's truly a beautiful romance.

I loved Yong Young Shik so much! Even though he was only a side character, you could even see some character improvement on him in the way he stopped being a player for Jung Eun Chae and was all mature after meeting the right girl. Eun Chae as well became more confident in her profession and personality, so we love to see side characters bettering themselves despite not having anything to provide to the entire plot.

The romance between Ji Yeon's mom and the director was absolutely lovely. I knew since they started seeing each other that I would love all their interactions and so I did. It showed that no matter your age, you can still fall in love. It's never too late!

The office workers are something different, though. I hated every person in that office except the new assistant from Guhje Island. He was the only bearable person (besides Eun Chae, which I didn't dig at the beginning anyway, and obviously the "sexy" director). The kind of made up the annoying personality of Team Leader Byung by explaining us why he hated Ji Yeon so much and suddenly showing that he was actually competent to be Editor Chief and I kind of approved it, but his persona was the most annoying thing in the entire drama, plus Oh Jin Ri. Their acting was so off that I couldn't stand any part where they came on screen. Same with Young Shik. He only cried "팀장님" the entire time and was absolutely useless.

Now, regarding Noh Shi Hoon. I'm on the hating side. The actor is absolutely handsome and I like him, but I couldn't stand the selfishness of the character. Even his excuses sounded like bullsh*t to me. He got injured after trying to make it to the wedding? Well, it's not like he was in a comma for 6 years. He could've contacted her so many times, but he only did it at that time because it was a coincidence. It's not even like he actually went there for her.

But of course, with no ex-lover to come and wreck the main character's emotions, the drama would've made no sense, etc. But still, I hated his guts and the fact that Ji Yeon cried multiple times every single episode ever since he showed up annoyed me so much. At some point I ended skipping 3-4 scenes were she just cried alone holding whatever on her chest with no good to the plot.

But these two things aside, this drama is such a lovely noona love (I'd say my top 3) and it made me have so many emotions and I enjoyed it a lot, and also absolutely loved Park Seo Joon's OST.

I was hesitant to watch this during 6 years because I didn't really like the actress but I'm glad I eventually made my mind for it and watched it, so I will definitely give it 9.5 and totally recommend it.

I don't know, i really like this drama. It might not have such an unique theme like other dramas but they are so cute together despite the age gap, gosh!!

What i like about this drama:
1. It has a very kind hearted male lead, OMG, i think this is the best male lead character in k-drama!!!
He is so sweet and he loves to help others, not only to his woman but to everyone.
I always adore this kind of character even in real life!! He is also very matured that's why he can get along with a 39 years old woman :D
2. There is no evil villain who tries to kill main leads
3. Very light romantic comedy very fun to watch
4. So many sweet stuff between the main leads
5. Damn funny especially in the beginning of this dramas
6. I like strong successful female lead with a killer personality like ji yeon
7. OMG park seo joon is damn sexy and hot here
8. Their chemistry is all over the place!! I don't find their age gap is weird because their chemistry is so strong and everything seems natural to watch.
9. Hot sizzling kiss between main leads, i never really like kiss in kdramas because it seems awkward and forced but their make out scene is damn hot, natural yet funny
10. There are many lessons to learn from this drama because it's quite relatable

What i don't like:
Almost nothing that i don't like, maybe if i want to be nit picky, perhaps the middle of the episodes when the photojournalist return, it's a bit draggy, i'm also a bit sad coz there are so little funny moments, but i do understand her decision coz i also have a friend who took back her ex despite of so much chemistry between her and her current bf, coz in r/s we need to think about logic and reality not only heart, but anyway the r/s with her ex is not working out well for her since it has become as dry as salted fish and my friend learns her lesson well, in my friend's case, she lost the current bf already, and she cannot have the same feel with her ex thus she broke up with him. Too bad coz i never seen her happier with guys other than her current bf that time, i also dun understand why she choose her ex back, i guess r/s is complicated. She wants to get married soon coz her ex already proposed her and wanted to get married.

In this show, dong ha still wait for her, it's so sweet, i don't know whether in real life there is a guy like that though. I think it's too good to be true hahaha.

All in all, i like this show.

Idol Movie ^^ you have been warned

Though I did not know the male lead, the camera is on his face, like, all the time and I am not complaining.

Lovely face acting by Park Seo Joon, which reminds me of Hyun Bin's talent (see Crash landing on you).

No subtle acting for the other main characters, on purpose obviously, we even get some farcical acting!

It is a sweet drama.
There is trauma but it won't be heavy on your soul (no triple deep trauma at the end, like one cute-looking drama I still resent! grrr).

An unbelievable situation or two, but no loopholes (I believe).

The music fits perfectly and I am listening to it with pleasure. Nam Hye-Seung also composed for "Crash landing on you" and "It's ok to not be okay" ?! my 2nd drama and the first soundtrack I looked for : so dark and atmospheric, so very different from this one! Kuddos to the star of drama soundtracks for her versatility.

A simple story and the characters are simple as well, so there's not much motivation to rewatch on my part. Now I want to watch Park Seo Joon's other dramas! hehe

Enjoy :)

Great beginnng and end, boring middle

This is a weird drama to rate. The first episode is one of the funniest I've watched in years! The FL is simply put a bad bish, a really interesting mature woman who is a breath of fresh air in assuming her own spinsterhood "witchiness". Her shoes are to die for! The ML shines in his interactions with her, and more importantly: is a cutie bomb. All actors are great, really! The side characters are also extremely likeable.

The beginning is amazing and the end is pretty good. But there is a pretty big flaw here: all that good humour goes away into the middle of the story, which became quite boring, and tries to pick up at the end but doesn't quite succeed. I think it failed to show the FL being vulnerable without dragging the story down. If perhaps hers and the second lead's plot evolved alongside some 'sexy' scandal at her job (she's a big reporter) it would be more balanced and less of a downer. At least the SL is good looking too.

Oh well, it's a solid seven.

Ji Yeon – female lead

“What's so bad about a witch? Rather than Snow White who's dependent on others and causes trouble, an independent witch is a hundred times better.”

I like how it didn't take a crisis or a break up for Ji Yeon to put some boundaries in place and realise she can't rely on a man for everything.

My favourite quote from her is. “Don't work hard. Do it well.” More heroines should follow this advice from Ban Ji Yeon.

I really love the feel of this drama. I like how the characters have real conversations and just say ordinary things when they’re feeling awkward.

The side characters are not that important but I do like Soo Chul and Dong Ha’s relationship. Soo Chul was definitely the best side character. I even liked his weird thing going on with Eun Chae.

I think with other Kdramas they take their hostilities seriously but Dong Ha and Ji Yeon, they're always jokingly offending each other.

Dong Ha – male lead

Park Seo Joon has the best awkward/freaked out face.

Dong Ha is a really special hero. He is really great.

First, he isn't rich. Yasss.

And he is a huge softie. But not in a way that means he can be pushed around. He just can't hold a grudge. If he sees someone hurting, he can't stand by.

Romance

So much kissing! Yessss.

This drama really really convinced me how perfect the couple is for each other. I love that feeling. That I'm able to really get behind them and root for them.

I like that they can laugh together. They don't take their pride too seriously.

I like that Dong Ha is man enough to confess and man enough to talk about his feelings.

I really like the noona feel and how Dong Ha is able to be masculine and a bit aegyo. It's not annoying or creepy at all haha.

I love how he looks at her.

He knows how to navigate the relationship well and everything he says and the way he acts around Ji Yeon is so convincing for her and for me that he's a great guy.

Dong Ha knows when the to back off and when to fight. He's got perfect timing.

They’re such a good match for each other. Their interactions are so much fun and you can see that they are having fun too. They even sing together.

The drama was solid throughout. I enjoyed it every step of the way. There might have been some annoying bits, but overall really fantastic and solid pacing and plotline.

Being a Park Seo joon fan, I thought I simply HAD to watch this. And I am glad I did!

This is a lovely rom-com, with a particularly charming and sweet male lead: not only Park Seo Joon has the power to make you swoon with his smile and good looks, his character was super adorable. As the typical "male lead jerk" annoys me deeply, this was extremely satisfying to watch and I couldn't get enough of his cuteness! ( I can't get over it now that I finished watching)

I wasn't convinced by Uhm Jung Hwa's character at the beginning, but she grew on me and I really enjoyed the way she portrayed that woman falling in love with a much younger man. It felt very natural and her struggles gave the drama a depth that I wasn't expecting to find. In today's world, it's easy to get caught on the crazy "career train" and forget to live life and actually enjoy it. Maybe it's because I'm in my late 20s, but the main message of the drama really made its way into my heart and moved me.

Main leads had great chemistry (despite their actual age gap) and so did the other actors all together. This made the comedy work really well: I hadn't laughed this much with a drama in a long time!

The story is a bit slow in the middle, but it actually pushed me to binge the whole thing (rather than skipping scenes), because I couldn't wait to see the characters happy (they're just... SO CUTE). It's a sweet noona romance, both touching and fun. Easy to watch. Will watch again and recommend!

Watched it for Park SeoJoon. Was expecting more passionate love from Young Dong Ha and Ji Yeon, thats why I was a bit disappointed. Dong ha falls in love with his noona boss Ji Yeon and how their relationship progresses is what this drama is all about. Not too boring overall an Ok drama for me.

This is what I would picture for a good romcom drama. The plot seemed average, but the execution of it made the drama more interesting and exciting. This drama was a wonderful success due to the good actors and actresses.

The chemistry between the onscreen couple was so good that I would mistake them as a offscreen couple if that were true. I didn't notice until near the end that the female lead had skills due to years if acting. In most of the romantic scenes, she took the initiative and the male lead followed her example. The acting was pretty subtle. I could barely noticed except for this one scene where they were goofing off in her bed. The male was really awkward and it seemed like the female took the lead to make it more romantic. She kept moving around him to make the scene seem playful, which worked out pretty well. The choice of fashion also visually shows the personalities of the characters. I noticed that the female lead tends to like clothes that are more , and the male lead like to have his clothes in a simple manner.

I really enjoyed the music mainly because they used actors for the drama ost. It made it seem fresh due to the actors using their own voices instead of a professional singer like in kdramas.

Overall I really liked the drama due to the amazing acting. I would recommend it for people who like the laughs and do not mind the age gap between the lead actors. I also realized this drama is a remake of the popular Taiwanese drama "My Queen". I have not personally watched it but I have hear good things about it.

I'm SO glad I gave this drama a shot. Witch's Romance has officially become my fave drama of all time. It completely exceeded my expectations. WR is a very heartwarming show and yes I'm extremely guilty of loving noona romances (don't judge me haha). However, the thing with this show was that rather than being your standard noona romance, it was more about how these two characters were literally made for each other. This show has given me serious OTP feels (like no silly prolonged miscommunication, misunderstandings, etc - none of that nonsense).

The age difference is huge in comparison to the usual and it's even more between the leads in real life, which was the reason for my initial doubts before watching the show. Luckily, I was proven downright wrong. THE CHEMISTRY BETWEEN THEM WAS THROUGH THE ROOF. LIKE DAMN. IT WAS SEXY AS HELL AT TIMES, ANGSTY AT TIMES, UNBELIEVABLY CUTE THAT IT GAVE ME CAVITIES AT TIMES.. JUST WOW.

And Park Seo Joon has now sealed himself as my ultimate favourite korean actor; he's very talented. His acting skills, incredibly varying facial expressions - plus the fact that he sings the most heart-wrenching song in the show (sobs his voice is beautiful). I loved him in Kill Me, Heal Me & I loved him in this show. His character Dong-Ha, is quite literally Mr. Perfect and every girl's dream guy. I found myself sighing countless times at how sweet the guy truly was.

What's more is that I even rewatched this show right after I finished watching it! I NEVER rewatch dramas, since I'd rather spend all that time watching another drama. So this was the first time I've rewatched a drama from beginning to end. I admit, I skipped through Polar Bear's scenes the second time around (the 2nd male lead), yet relished all the Dong-ha angst scenes he brought out of him at the same time. The sexy and cute scenes between our leads led to multiple rewatches haha

Anyways, it's quite an underrated show, and more people need to see it. What are you waiting for? Give this drama a watch, I HIGHLY recommend it :D

This drama is absolutely adorable. The cast is great and theres amazing chemistry between the main couple. As for the plot I think its a pretty "usual" storyline; something you see very commonly in k-dramas, so its not much of a huge surprise when conflicts happen because the stages of the story are pretty predictable. For fluff/ rom com addicts like me, i believe this drama would be perfect because its filled with some adorkably cute moments and some uncontrollable laughs. But although being light and fluffy, its also beautifully crafted with an undertone of slight angst.

I LOVE THE MAIN SONG. I actually love everything about this drama. it keeps you on your toes and leaves your heart all light and fluttery. I think other than the general plotline, there are actually many unique quirks to this drama; as well as dynamic very well sculpted character personalities that keep you on your toes.

Have no regrets and watch this drama! it'll definitely push it's way into your heart! :)

This must not be a bad show because I finished it.
Mostly it is an inofffensive drama. The main charactres pulled it off ok. I was a bit off put by the femle lead who appeared to treat the male lead with great indifferance and with complete lack of feeling when she choose the other man over him and seemed to have no regard for his feelings. She then just picked up where she left off when the photographer left.
Th main problem I had with this show was the screeching wailing mother who only seemed happy when trying to run and maybe ruin her own daughters life. What is it with these parents who want to control their own children and dictate if or when they get married and insist on grandchildren and also who is good enough for them to maary All this while kkepong in mind the fact that the parents often made a complete screw up of their own lives and marraige choices.
All in all though this is not a bad effort. much less offensive and irritating than most and worth the watch .
Being an older person it is interesting to see things from an older persons perspective with the lead actress being in her mid forties when she did this

After watching Park Seo Joon in What's Wrong with Secretary Kim, Fight for My Way, and She Was Pretty, I was looking through his roles list and saw Witch's Romance. I was a little skeptical because it was from 2014 and that it might be dull and too cheesy/cringey, but the first episode definitely got me hooked! The beginning was somewhat different from typical KDrama first episodes - the romance between the lead roles budded quickly (which I always enjoy), but I really enjoyed it and the storyline seemed promising.

PSJ's role as a 25-year-old part-time worker was great and suited him well (he had such a baby face in 2014) and I liked the chemistry between him and the main actress! The main actress and other support roles were really great as well. I do feel like the beginning was overdramatized and the main actress did not stick to her "mean" role for long, that could have been hyped up more or used more in the storyline. I also think they could have done more with/emphasized the noona-dongsaeng relationship. The last few episodes seemed to be dragged out a little bit, but the last and second to last episode made it worth it!

I really liked the supporting characters's stories and how they affected the main role's story. The romantic/cute scenes were super cute too! I definitely recommend this drama, especially to Park Seo Joon fans, it was a dramatic, sweet, and funny drama!
