As far as drama news goes, this must be the best week ever! Along with other cast confirmations
this week, Kim Bum (Boys Over Flowers, Padam Padam) and Jung Eun Ji (Reply 1997) have
both been confirmed to appear in the upcoming drama, “That Winter, The Wind Blows.”
Excited? Guess how long you will have to wait. That’s right—until winter! “That Winter, The
Wind Blows,” will broadcast on KBS early 2013. Mark your calendars and add one more drama
to your PTW MDLers, because you do not want to miss this!
This melodrama will be directed by Noh Hee Kyung and written by Kim Kyu Tae, the same duo
behind the drama Padam Padam (2011).
Well, what do know? As some of you may, or may not know, Kim Bum previously starred in
Padam Padam, resulting in the formation of a close bond with director Noh Hee Kyung and
writer Kim Kyu Tae. It’s a reunion!
In brief, “That Winter, The Wind Blows,” is a melodrama about an orphan and an heiress of a
major company falling in love.

Ah, too brief? No worries, I have more!
This upcoming drama, will star Jo In Sung (Shoot for the Stars, What Happened in Bali) as Oh
Soo, your stereotypical bad boy, who is just as good at picking up woman as he is at gambling.
Unfortunately, he is quite the pessimist and cares for absolutely nothing after the death of his
first love.
Queue Song Hye Gyo (Full House). Kim Kyu Tae must have written this script on a rainy day,
or he just knows how to make you sympathize for a character—most likely the latter. Anyways,
Song Hye Gyo’s character, Moon Hee Joo, suffers the loss of both her parents, and loses her
eyesight. Why not just kick her while she’s down and make her brother go missing too.
Done. T_T What’s next, she falls victim to a con artist? Yep, queue Jo In Sung’s character Oh
Soo.
Now, here’s where Kim Bum comes in. He will star as Park Jin Sung, Oh Soo’s best friend,
and let’s face it, partner in crime (if there is any haha). He is going to be the kind of guy that is
laughing one second, *you blink* and he’s ice cold, giving you a death glare. Lovely. *_* Of
course, Kim Bum’s character has a soft side too. In his college days, Jin Sung dreamed of saving
up enough money to buy his father a farm. Did he achieve it, we shall see.
(Perhaps) The moment you have all been waiting for, Jung Eun Ji’s role! A Pink member Jung
Eun Ji will play the sister to Song Hye Gyo. Much has yet to be released about her character,
but judging from her excellent performance in Reply 1997, we can only expect another stellar
performance from the rookie actress.
