PLOT SUMMARY

Having recently suffered a painful breakup, Yoo Mi’s love cells have fallen into a deep coma. Although they might have been in serious trouble had it not been for the sudden appearance of Goo Woong. An emotionally stunted game developer, Goo Woong has no idea how to express his true feelings, but after meeting Yoo Mi, he finds himself wanting to try. But will the efforts of this small collection of cells really be enough to bring two hearts together forever?

Kim Go Eun as Kim Yoo Mi

Kim Yoo Mi is a reserved girl in her 30s and is dedicated to her work. She does not have any desire to be in a relationship because of her painful breakup 3 years ago, and since then the 'Love cell' (of her brain) is in a kind of coma state.

Now she lives alone in an apartment and works at Daehan Noodles where she likes one of her juniors, Chae Ugi. Although things turn out differently and Ugi himself sets her up on a blind date with his friend Goo Woong. Now the question arises whether she, a reticent girl, would allow this new guy to enter her heart? Will he be able to wake her Love cell which was in a coma for the last 3 years?

Ahn Bo Hyun as Goo Woong

Goo Woong professionally is a game developer who's currently working on a game called Bow Wow Time. He works at his office with two more colleagues, Seo Sae Yi and Louis. Living alone in his house, he's also a clean freak type of person.

Well, his personal life doesn't have a lot of changes/ variation but since he met Yoo Mi, his heart started to beat faster. Taking into account his personality, he's a very considerate and mannerly person with a pure and honest heart. But when it comes to Yoo Mi, he just cannot control his feelings for her. Now I'm excited to see how he manages his endearing emotions to get Yoo Mi to like him!

Lee Yoo Bi as Ruby

She works as a junior of Yoo Mi. At the same time, she also likes Ugi and always tries to outshine herself in front of him.

Park Ji Hyun as Seo Sae Yi

Sae Yi is an ambitious person and is Goo Woong's friend as well as his co-worker. She even kind of confuses him sometimes by making unhopeful advances but still does not confess her feelings towards him.

So this drama is filled with attractive cameo appearances from the first episode.
The first one is Choi Min Ho who played the role of Chae Ugi as Yoo Mi's co-worker. He is a pretty decent guy who really admires Yoo Mi as his senior. He is kind and caring, too, which is why Yoo Mi fell for him (tbh, who won't fall for such a guy? *wink*wink*)

The other two cameos which are yet to make their appearances on screen but are confirmed (till episode 4) are Park Jin Young and Lee Sang Yi. Though we don't know what roles they will play, I am still excited for both of their appearances on the show.

The Romance

Here, the romance is just so comfy, a sofa type romance that you might not want to wake yourself up from the deep slumber. This show really gives me pleasant vibes and considering the romance in the pilot episode, I think both the leads are carrying it very smoothly. The pace is perfect. Yes! We get a kiss just at the end of episode 4. I am telling you, this couple is worth swooning over!

Yoo Mi, being a reserved girl, is managing her feelings for Goo Woong properly without rush. And yes, Goo Woong is very adorable whenever he approaches Yoo Mi by mentioning her cuteness. Do check it out!
"There are a lot of sweet things... other than sugar."

3D Animation of Cells

Besides the great acting of all the characters, one thing that intrigued me very much was the animation. The cells depicted in this show literally keep you in awe. These beautiful as well as adorable cells are very much entertaining to watch. Well, there are some comments regarding the childish animation, but I personally think that this type of animation perfectly suits the theme of the drama.
Here, Yoo Mi's cells are very hilarious like the bickering between 'Reason cell' and 'Emotion cell' or the perverted 'Lust cell'. Although we're yet to explore more of Goo Woong's cells, one of his cells which makes me laugh all the time with its lame jokes is his 'Humour cell'.

The Acting

So the first one whose acting blew my mind was Ahn Bo Hyun! Since this was my first drama of featuring ABH as a main lead, I was very eager to check out his acting skills. To be honest, he didn't disappoint me at all. Also there were places where his expressions were exceptional (especially at the ending scene of episode 4).

Talking about Kim Go Eun, yes, you can that say she was true to her character of Yoo Mi. Considering this as her comeback after an year, I loved seeing her in a totally different, whimsical type of character this time.

The side characters, e. g. Ruby, are indeed sometimes annoying but I personally think that she isn't a difficult person, rather she's a bit naïve or silly. Although the actress behind her did a wonderful job in portraying that immature side of hers.

Even though I had my eyes on this webtoon for a long time, I actually started reading it only after knowing that it is getting a drama adaptation. I was previously reluctant to start reading it because of its length of 500 chapters but then the first few chapters intrigued me so much that I planned on reading and watching the drama simultaneously. And now, after watching the first few episodes of the drama, I can say that the crew is well prepared in presenting this show.

Till episode 4, I consider that they're mostly following the webtoon's plotline. On top of that, there are scenes which are better cinematographed in the drama compared to the webtoon, e. g. the way Ugi came out as homosexual and Yoo Mi's reaction on it. With that, I personally think the male lead in the drama version looks more handsome than in the webtoon... obviously that's our Ahn Bo Hyun's charme. (;

About the ending, so even I'm not sure who Yoo Mi ends up with cause of course I am yet to reach the ending of the webtoon, but as the director said, they tried to stay as true as possible to the webtoon. Having done little amends while converting it into a live action show surely won't bother anyone. So yes, I am looking forward to how the story unfolds further.

Considering all the aspects of the drama, I think it's worth a try for all the webtoon readers as well as the partial or non-webtoon readers.

So this article must've answered most of your questions. If not, then assume that I purposefully kept those details a secret, just for you to uncover them while watching the drama. ;)
