Jang So Yeon is confirmed to star alongside Wi Ha Joon and Jung Ryeo Won in a new K-drama
ZE: A"s Yim Si Wan and Park Gyu Young will possibly star in another Netflix project.
On March 29, media outlets reported that Yim Si Wan and Park Gyu Young have been picked to lead the upcoming Netflix original film titled Mantis (working title).
The upcoming movie will be the spin-off of the 2023 Netflix original movie Kill Bok Soon led by Jeon Do Yeon and Sol Kyung Gu.
With this, a representative of Netflix responded to the circulating news. According to the streaming platform, "Mantis is one of the works we are considering while looking for a good project. Nothing has been decided yet."
Yim Si Wan's agency Plum A&C also shared their side regarding the casting reports. The agency stated, "We are still reviewing the upcoming movie Mantis."
The story of Mantis will be derived from Kill Bok Soon. In one of the scenes in the 2023 film, the stage name "Mantis" was mentioned. Actor Sol Kyung Gu and Esom mentioned "Mantis" as the name of a legendary killer.
The upcoming Netflix film will be directed by Lee Tae Sung. He was the assistant director of Kill Bok Soon and the original director Byun Sung Hyun will join the new movie as a creator.
According to reports, Mantis will begin its filming in August.
If Yim Si Wan and Park Gyu Young decide to star in the upcoming film, this will be their second time to work together.
This year, the two will star in the much anticipated Netflix original K-drama Squid Game Season 2. They will work alongside Lee Jung Jae, Lee Byung Hun, Wi Ha Joon, Gong Yoo, and more.
Mantis will possibly be the follow-up film of Yim Si Wan after Boston 1947. Meanwhile, this will be the grand comeback of Park Gyu Young to the movie scene after LOVE+SLING.
