Heart-wrenching love story

This was a tough one - your heart would ache and crumble into multiple pieces. Han Taesuk was the epitome of a good second lead. He was never selfish and was very dedicated to his love for Eunsuh. Compared to its so-called rival, "Stairway to Heaven," I personally think that this drama was somehow a bit bland. There weren't any diverse emotions to be felt when watching the drama. I didn't even think there were any antagonists at all. All of the characters' personalities were admirable, even Yumi and Shinae, who were supposed to be the antagonists in the story.

Epic, heartbreaking story

After a long time of breaks and pauses, I finally finished watching this drama. It was adventurous and thrilling to be a part of Seungnyang's journey to becoming the empress of Yuan. She was powerful and clever when it came to making strategies. Ha Jiwon truly understood the assignment!!

It was heartbreaking to see how almost everyone in the drama dies. I also had a major second lead syndrome while watching the drama. Wangyu and Seungnyang were just made for each other!! It was funny because I would oftentimes curse the Emperor whenever he shows up and tell him to shut up T__T

Yon Feisue was one of the best characters out there. I was literally crying my heart out when I saw her die T__T I also liked the presence of the Empress Dowager. She was so charismatic and her character was played out excellently!

The soundtracks really suited the drama. It was hard to pick a favorite because all of them were beautiful. So far, my favorite one is Park Wankyu's "The Wind."

All in all, this drama is truly epic! Although it's a bit lengthy, no single episode will bore you at all. To those who plan to watch this drama, I just have to remind you how tearjerker this drama is and how it's riddled with so many plot twists :)

Mediocre

Honestly speaking, there wasn't anything special about this drama. I had no attachment to any of the characters, excluding Seobi, who was at least a decent character. There were some times where I felt intrigued as to what was going to happen next. However, it was boring and plain most of the time - you could find me yawning and paying attention to other things but this. Still, there were a lot of things in this drama that I was intrigued by, especially in the last few minutes, so I might consider watching the second season of this drama.

Very provocative

All throughout the movie, I never sided with any of the characters - they all had their own flaws to despise. I was taken aback by how there were a lot of provocative scenes in the movie. I wouldn't say they were unnecessary, since they were the central points of the plot, but there were just too many.

If you're not into provocative films, I'll most likely not recommend this movie. On the other hand, it would still be nice to give this movie a chance to broaden our perspective towards homosexuality and other societal matters.
