Awesome show with badass fl & sweetheart ml!

I just wanna say that till now ( i. e 12th April 2020) 9.5/10 is the highest rating I have given for a show and this is the only show I have given that rating to! This show is that awesome! :)

If you don't mind grey characters (Everyone's grey here, including ML & FL) and love to watch a really good romance between a badass FL and a smart ML set in a shady legal world, then this drama is for you! :)

This drama had everything I ever hope for in a show:

1) Fast pacing of the scenes, no dragging or filler scenes whatsoever! I am just sad it wasn’t extended for few more episodes...

2) Strong FL (not just physically strong but most importantly, emotionally strong!). Jgj has entered into my list of all time fav heroines!

3) Smart ML who is willing to adapt to new ideas and is super witty on top of it! Did I mention he's super loyal too? <3 :) He makes you go "awwww" so many times that you will lose count! ;)

4) Smart opponents! Because the game will be boring if your opponents are complete pushovers...

5) Awesome BGM/ost that actually suit the narrative instead of hindering the flow of the scenes.

6) Beautiful set designs and cinematography for that added visual appeal.

7) Awesome set of actors, right from both the fantastic lead actors (I have become a fan of them both after this) to the equally entertaining supporting actors. It was a fab cast! Spl mention for the quirky secretary of our FL in the supporting cast, the show wouldn't have been the same without her! :)

8) Entertaining story. I wouldn't say that the story was something out of this world or anything, but it surely had a bit of everything for everyone... It had a good dose of romance and comedy with a decent amount of legal /investigation drama. It also had a generous peppering of feel good scenes between all the team members. And on top of it all, it has a really really satisfying ending too! :)

Plus it gave me the same feels I used to get while watching 'Castle', an US drama series. Especially the leads romance gave me CasKett feels! <3 So basically, highly recommended! :D

Female and male lead have a happy ending! <3

It's a nice and simple detective drama with a slight romance and happy ending for the Ml and Fl. All the actors were nice and the friendship scenes of the trio was adorable.

If you like shows with Chinese Republican era decor and outfits and are a fan of shows like Detective L, then you will like this too.

About the Detective genre: There is a murder case story in every episode and even though some cases seem simple, some were really interesting, especially the cases which required the explanation of chemistry (subject matter) behind it.

About the Romcom genre: The ml and fl have a bickering type of chemistry throughout the show. Sometimes scenes get repetitive but towards the last few episodes, their story seemed to pick up.

Overall a decent watch for some tension free pass time. :)

Caution - Spoilers galore:
Ok seriously, like I mentioned in the heading, this movie is all those creepy pedophiles wet dream! There is nothing beautiful about this story! A creepy 70 yr old pedo lusts after a minor girl (below 20) and writes a creepy short story based on his dirty lustful thoughts imagining doing things to that girl and finally tries to justify the whole shit by saying age is just a number and it's not his fault he is 70! This is exactly what all the pedos who prey on little children tell!

And for some unfathomable reason people are telling this creepy stuff is beautiful?! Like really??

I pity the children of people who think so! Please wake up and safeguard your children because there are many such uncles and grandpas out there who have such 'beautiful' intentions and you failing to recognise that may affect the innocent souls of children!

Also, I wanted to slap the Enguyo girl because if she wants to flirt with the old man, then for god's sake dont call him 'haraboji' aka grandpa at least! Because calling him your grandpa and then being ok or even being happy with the creepy stuff he wrote is just insulting to the real granpa granddaughter relationships!

Also if that creepy old man was lonely and 50 yrs age gap is just mathematics and nothing else, then why not go and seek out some intelligent and intellectual 70 yr old lonely woman who understands poetry? I am sure there are many such ladies who are equally lonely and would love someone to spend their time with.... But oh no, that he wouldn't do, will he? No because they aren't so young, innocent and beautiful and of course, in that case age isn't just a number! Huh! To whom are they trying to sell such utter BS in the name of artistic beauty?!

Also, what was the police doing? That guy should have been arrested for murder or at least attempted murder of that plaigarist! Then that pedo old man's truth would have been revealed to the world as the motive of the murder and then it would have been a satisfactory ending!

It could have been so much more but sadly it wasn't... They could have tweaked the story to include more romance b/w the main leads and could have utilized the actors much better.

Everyone seems to take the Ml for granted and it was grating on my nerves! I wish they made the situations and characters more realistic! No one takes advantage of their non blood related or for that matter even a blood related sibling to that extent! It's just too frustrating to watch! Similarly, no employee argues so senselessly to their CEO and even ask him to sing! Come on in which world does that happen?! :l

Acting wise even though I have watched the Ml in other shows and know he is a good actor, in this show somehow he seems confused with how to react to certain scenes! I wish he gets better roles in future!

If you have watched the season 1 of this show and felt something was missing in the end, then this Saikou no rikon Special is for you, if you didn't feel so, then skip this Special...

As for me, I felt that season 1 ending had not addressed the main issues with both the couples efficiently in the last episode, so I loved this special. It gave a proper closure, leaving a bit of hope in the end...

Season 1 ending was like a window dressing for me, where things were looking neat and proper outwardly but instead of actually sorting the main clutter that was in their way, they just put it into the back of the closet or pushed it under the carpet for a quick resolution. So this Special addresses that problem because the clutter that was swept aside kept accumulating over the course of 1 year after that last episode and things have become suffocating now...

So now both the couples decide to clean their clutter properly this time instead of resorting to the easy way out. As a result somethings are saved and renewed and somethings they decide are better off if given away to make space for better things to come in future...

This episode is the very definition of bitter-sweet and heartbreakingly beautiful... Everybody gets a proper ending in this and everyone's problems are addressed, not necessarily in a happily ever after way but in a more practically satisfying way... Girls finally speak openly about their deal breaker issues in their respective marriages and guys finally speak about their true feelings for their spouses more openly in this episode... You'll understand that everyone truly loves the other, very very much... It's all beautiful, sad and happy, all at the same time...

For all the bitter-sweet feelings it will give you, it will also leave you with a beautiful glimmer of hope in the very end... Both the letters, the 'love letter' she decides to keep with her and the love letter he sends at last, both are harbingers of a good time in future and this time they both will finally be on the same page when it happens... And it will lead to a more permanent happiness that time... <3

My rating : 7.8/10 :)

PS: I felt so bad about that lion... ;( He looked so lonely and sad and it must have been very cold too... :(

Being a mystery thriller genre fan, I went in with really high expectations seeing the 9+ ratings here and needless to say I am thoroughly disappointed! This drama had a great potential with an unique story line if it been had developed properly but somehow lost its way from the initial brilliant idea of communication from the past...

Actually there is no mystery or suspense for the viewers as from the 1st episode you are shown who the villains are and within first 2-3 episodes it only left me with frustration seeing how the characters are being so clueless even though people around them are so suspicious! It was a long wait till episode 16 for characters to actually figure out who was behind everything even though they knew how bad that particular person was! Seriously seriously frusrating, I must say!

This show is for the fans of drama that deals with social justice where everyone knows the villian, who is as usual highly powerful and corrupt individual but the hero who is a sincere underdog who preserves to fight against the evil and win the war the end. If you are a fan of this genre, then this drama is for you but if you are a mystery fan like me, then be prepared to be disappointed...
Even in the weekly cases there is no suspense as such, just police slowly, I mean really slowly trying to figure out the culprit who is again revealed to us right in the beginning of the episode! :(

Now coming to acting, everyone was ok ok even though I really didn't like the actor who played ML in the Past in certain scenes where I felt his acting was a bit odd even though I am not able to pinpoint the exact scenes...
His onscreen character too was not in sync like the character was fluctuating between moments of brilliance and moments of stupidity repeatedly. Because of this I skipped through many Past scenes and what I found was because the past had many filler scenes, I didn't miss anything even after skipping 20-30 mins at a time! Guess the show would have been better if it was for 10 episodes, then everything would have been more crisper.

The only thing I really liked about the whole show other than the overall idea of getting a radio transmission from the past that could change the present, was that the FL is realistically badass in the Present (2015 in the show) time. She may get hurt but she never failed to bounce back like a spring to kick some criminal's ass! It was totally commendable!
Also the fact the the Past ML encouraged her not be just a coffee serving girl to her seniors but to make her own stand against them like the actual detective she was, was a really good scene!

Overall a 5.5/10 for me.

Has a lot of rom & com! <3

So this is one of my most fav dramas ever! That is saying something because I have watched 100s and 100s of dramas in so many languages!

This show gave me some of the heartiest laughs! It's a very funny show which has two of my fav romcom themes, a great second chance romance and hidden identity(no one in their company knows they were ex couple) theme . It is a very nice feel good romcom which can be easily binge watched, like I have done multiple times! Yes the re-watch value is seriously high too, especially the first half episodes which are really hilarious and is a good cheer me up when you are feeling down!

Now coming to the title, lemme tell you that the title is so misleading! Yes, the FL may seem a bit rude in the early flashbacks of ML but there is a proper reason for it, which will be revealed later. Some of which will be revealed in the first episode itself if you carefully listen to everyone's conversations especially between the FL and her friends and family.

Right from the first episode you will know that she is in no way a gold digger as the summary makes you believe. She's just angry that her ex became rich while she still working multiple jobs to pay off his debts. Also she doesn't want his money, she just wants his apology but instead he insults her and gives her money and she decides to take revenge by joining his company! The FL is a true fighter in every sense of the word! And most of the times her revenge ideas are crazily hilarious! :D When you watch it you will know what I'm talking about! ;D

The lead pair have great chemistry and their tit for tat hilarious revenge antics are actually made believable because of their awesome acting! I love their rooftop conversations! After watching this show's rooftop scenes, I have come to expect highly of all the rooftop scenes in different dramas. The rooftop really has a good scene building potential along with offering great panoramic views of the cities.

Anyway an Overall a 9/10 from me, which is the highest I have ever given till now! :D
Highly recommended!

I watched it 2-3 years back and remember that it was kinda funny in the beginning. Both the main characters, both the husband and wife are flawed in their own ways. One doesn't care about the house hygiene (wife) and the other doesn't care about the finances of their law firm (husband) ... All in all they balanced each other pretty good until they couldn't ...

Spoiler ahead :

I didn't like the way the husband tricked her into continuing her pregnancy which she actually did not want. He acted as if he loved her just for the baby? That was really low! They just treated her body as a baby making machine! They just conviniently forgot that she's a human being and it's her body and she has all rights on her body! And later when she couldn't handle the baby properly they made her into a terrible mother which was the main reason why she didn't actually want to become a mother in the first place because she didn't have the confidence to be a good mother! Poor girl, the whole situation felt totally unfair... Even her bff betrayed her... The ending court scenes were sad, seeing her so helpless was a painful watch...

It is an OK kinda of youth story in which the main characters transitions from school to college to adults. Nothing out of the ordinary just usual normal day to day scenarios. ML is tsundere type who is annoyed at everything the FL does but secretly loves her. I actually started to watch this show because of this trope I saw in a YouTube clip.

SPOILER AHEAD...

This plot actually runs quite into the second half of the show but what made me drop it was the way the handled the transition of them them being love-hate bickering friends to lovers in a single episode without proper prelude!

Like the FL was still shown to be somewhat in love with the Second Male lead until a moment ago before she decides to go to the First ML. Even that actually looked like she is just choosing to join him for the concert without the implied meaning of choosing him as her Boyfriend or anything... But then all of a sudden she agrees to go on a date with him as she has lost the tickets to the concert which they were supposed to go. And then she is also ready to spend the night with him alone after that in a deserted beach and also wakes up to a steamy kiss, all in that very same day?! How ridiculous!
I mean imagine going to a concert with a friend and waking up next day to a steamy kiss on a beach ?! Where's the story development for which we actually watch the drama for? It all went past like a rocket in a blink of the eye! So unsatisfactory...

I really wanted to see her slow realization that the person who is really perfect for her is the first ML and then their romance to begin but this was totally blahhh... So rushed and totally off putting at least for me... And what was worse was after that there wasn't a hint of bickering, it just became too sappy for a long time and then the usual plot twista of going abroad and all that usual C drama stuff...

Acting wise, even though I found the Male lead really handsome, I think his reactions need to be improved... His confession to the FL and all his lovey dovey actions don't seem believable because of his facial reactions... It's like he's set his face in 'I don't like you' mode but his character has progressed to 'I can't live without you' mode... But I must admit, the kiss scenes were really good! ;D

Another person whose acting was off was the Music teacher. He seemed really miscast imo. Something was really odd about that character...

Well overall, I would rate it 7/10 for its cute 1st half.

This was a heartwarming drama! It had good quality fun and humour in the first half and lots of feels in the latter half. Romance was beautiful and chemistry between the leads was the selling factor for me.

I enjoyed this drama more because after every 2 episodes, there used to be these really really sweet BTS vids, showing how the cast were having genuine fun behind the scenes! Especially the lead actors were really cute in all those bts vids and made me happy after watching those emotional scenes towards the end.
So, even if you are going to binge watch, do take breaks in between and watch those precious bts vids, they will surely make your day! I'm not their offscreen shipper or anything because I know real life is a lot different for those people than what we see for just few minutes but nevertheless it's great fun to see their camaraderie and of course reading those YT comments below those vids make it more interesting ! ;D

Acting: Everyone was good. Everyone excelled in crying scenes which I think is a benchmark for judging an actor's skills. The whole widow village cast was fun. Our humourous trio of the lil girl, her dad and our one true fan of Mrs Kim were really hilarious and provided some really great situational comedy!
Actor who played the king is of course famous and his acting was befitting his experience. He had only few scenes but they were really impressive.

KTH was really good and the spectrum of emotions he showed from the beginning to the end was fabulous! His character's love story needs a new show with happy ending.

The main leads were really awesome and their chemistry is something that needs to be explored in new dramas.

Music: I remember hearing the same song in different tones from sad to happy throughout the show and it was pleasant and non hindering to the narrative.

I watched it last year and the only thing that stands out in my mind now is that it was a really funny show overall! Yeah, it really had some really cringey humour at times but if you just skip past those few mins in every few episodes, then you can enjoy a really funny show. Especially the side villains were so funny whenever they encountered our badass FL! Lol

The FL and ML have cute chemistry and even though the FL was slightly emotionally weak in the beginning especially when it came to Second ML, she becomes fully badass towards the end! It was a really satisfying to watch that because in most dramas FL are either physically strong or mentally strong but here thankfully she is both and that is refreshing!

The sismance here was totally awesome! And also bittersweet bickering bromance between the 2 MLs was also very funny and enjoyable! The goons and those bully kids turned lackeys were really funny. All the characters and plots were entertaining to watch except the FL's brother love story plot which made feel very angry for obvious reasons, especially on his new 'girlfriend' ...

There is a little Thriller plot that runs throughout the drama but that certainly is not the main focus of this drama. This is essentially a romcom with good doses of romance and comedy with the added advantage of an intelligent ML and a strong (really really strong :D) FL!

Was a really funny show and gave me a lot of genuine laughs. I really loved those funny special effects and pink panther music bgm! I binge watched it and I can happily say that it was interesting almost towards the end even though the last few episodes seemed dragged and unnecessarily convoluted. Overall I would give it a 7.5/10 for its humour. Do check it out for some light hearted fun!

Acting was ok but I keep wondering how painful it would have been for the ML actor to act as if he had an underbite during the shooting duration... It must have caused really bad jaw pains... Kudos for his commitment! And I really liked his acting in funny scenes! Going to check out his other shows now!

FL' acting was good but her hair style annoyed me very much as her face could be hardly seen beneath that hideous wig!

The 2nd lead character was good and his acting was ok but that cake shop group was a total unnecessary bunch of irritating characters.

I enjoyed watching this show. It had a good suspense story with adequate twists and turns. FL was annoying in the beginning but her behaviour was almost justified towards the end, so it's ok. ML was a total sweetheart character throughout and his show of emotions without any inhibitions towards the FL made their love story really really adorable! The scenes where he was jealous, were some of the cutest scenes! <3

Acting: Acting wise, everyone was good, nothing exceptional but really good quality acting by everyone including the support cast, especially the whole subway team and that disguising chief inspector( his disguises were really top class! Lol)!

Music : I don't actually concentrate on the OSTs much, but here that ending song had some really nice vibes!

I watched this drama because of the Strong Female Lead tag and my review and ratings are a result of that disappointment! I guess whoever tagged this as strong FL did it only because that character could do good physical stunts because otherwise it should have been tagged as the really weak FL!
The FL was a totally emotionally desperate character with very little sense of self respect! I kept watching it hoping that she would take a real stand against the ML at least one time but no, other than her outwardly tough appearance, she was a really easy pushover type character!
And that's what made me really frustrated because the character had so much potential but the makers just wanted to show an obedient and overly sensitive good little girl type FL masquerading as a really badass stunt person outwardly... Very Disappointed...

A very interesting concept which was executed almost perfectly. It has a perfect mix of a crime thriller and romcom. Even though you can guess the killer easily if you are a general fan of that genre, the way they tried their best to keep the suspense was commendable.

Time travelling happening inside an house at a particular time when past and present meet is in itself really a novel idea and then making the people from those different timelines fall for each other? A total winning concept for me! Plus there was a time limited hunt for a killer as a bonus for the crime thriller fan in me! :)

But in certain scenes I felt that the Ml's acting could have been slightly better...

Anyway an overall 8/10 for me.
