Story declined but was still pretty enjoyable

I was so captivated by the first episode that I kept watching but unfortunately, it started lagging starting the third episode. I mostly watched just to finish the court case because I was curious of how Woo Young Woo would resolve it. Other than that, I felt like I skipped through half the drama.

First, I'll say that the female lead did such a phenomenal job acting. It also brought lots of awareness to autism that I didn't know before. (As well as a bunch of whale facts). I think I read somewhere that she did a lot of research on autism to make sure she didn't portray the character wrongly or stereotypically. However, the male lead...I felt like he didn't really have a character. I saw on TikTok and my friends were talking about how he's the biggest green flag in korean dramas, but he had no personality. The romance seemed very forced, in my opinion. The way that he was helping her in the beginning as a friend was very cute, but then all of a sudden, he started giving her loving gazes out of the blue. I feel like the romance could've been done more naturally, or even not at all. I really liked the side characters though, like Choi Su Yeon and especiallyyyy Attorney Jung. I think he brought in a lot of the comedic aspect and did well with it.

For the court cases, I love dramas that do one case per episode, but a lot of these felt like they were trying to fill up the episodes with the most random things. I did have a select few that I enjoyed, but a lot of them felt like a waste of time and were forgettable.

I will say that the one thing I liked was the ending with the redemption of several characters, though those were also kind of rushed. I heard that they're coming out with a season 2 and wonder what else they're going to do with this. Probably even more court cases?

Finally, a cute and wholesome drama!! The plot of the story was so interesting and the characters were so funny. Especially Hee Jung and her husband (i forgot his name T^T) They made the drama so funny despite the seriousness of the situation. I thought that the beginning of this drama was so enjoyable and OMG the number of times I cried in this drama is a lot. But, at the end, it kind of lost its momentum and dragged so much. The plot became so focused on resolving the plot that the drama lost the comedy aspect (which I was really sad about).

On a side note though: Seo Woo is so cute!! I can't believe (s)he's a boy. Every time she smiled, my heart lit up and I awwed so much in this drama.

I am a "kdrama skipper," meaning that I skip a lot during boring dramas but I did not skip A SECOND in this drama. The concept of this drama was SO interesting like the main character can read the "memories" of a person/object he touches. This drama went from this cute/heartwarming story (though not really cuz of the intro) to a mystery/thriller real quick and I was so shocked at the number of plot twists in this drama. But even when it became a mystery/thriller, there was still a perfect balance of comedy and romance. How is that possible?? This drama is SO GOOD and underrated. I really wish more people would give it a chance. There were scenes where my jaw literally dropped and I fangirled with my sister and we had our minds blown together. I definitely would watch again. Amazing. :D

The first two episodes alone can honestly be a drama (as it is the main character's father's backstory) and it really hooked me onto this drama. I've watched this drama 3 times and it is always so good. One of the those rewatching was with my family and we all loved it!! There is a lot of wisdom in this drama too and so many good lessons. Also, the OST is BEAUTIFUL. I memorized half of every song and I really loved the chemistry between the two leads. (They starred in Vagabond together too)

This was the first Chinese entertainment media that I tried watching and I was not disappointed. The plot was so interesting and cute. I found myself smiling and blushing in a lot of scenes HAHAH. The male lead is so good looking too wow!! I liked how the players in the game met in real life at the meeting and the guy who had a crush found out Wei Wei was his divorced wife in the game. <-- that was so confusing. Anyways, it had the right amount of romance, comedy, heartwarming, wholesome blend and I even rewatched with my sister. She really liked it too!

This was actually my first Korean drama because my dad showed me when I was 5 HAHAH. It's the longest kdrama I've watched, but it was really interesting. The friendships, betrayals, journey that DamDeok went through is just amazing. This drama starts all the way from the beginning when he was a prince to the greatest king of Goguryeo. The sacrifices that his family and followers make for him are really touching (and sad) and just shows how much of a great person he is. I thought it was so sad that all his siblings had to die, sooner or later :( My favorite character growing up was Doyeong and I still remember the episode number she died. (ep 72) LITTLE 5 YEAR OLD ME WAS HEARTBROKEN. The music also really adds on to the plot, as it keeps on building and adds more drama to the scenes.

First of all, yes this drama is 51 episodes long so it looks like a scary number, but there is so much happening and it is SO worth watching all of them. I've watched this drama 3 times and it still has the same emotional impact on me. There was this one part I literally BAWLED and I kept telling myself "it's a drama. it's fake. it's fake" but the tears wouldn't stop coming HAHAHHA. I really felt her pain in that one part. The female lead was SO good and she portrayed such an amazing variety of acting she had to do in this one drama alone. WHAT A QUEEN and of course, Ji Chang Wook was amazing and his eyes literally told the story. This drama was so heart wrenching though and it was one of the dramas I couldn't decide between the two male leads because I loved both in their own way. And you will see that they both loved Sung Nyang in their own way.

Music: Okay, can we just talk about the music? The OST is so beautiful and I've been searching for piano music sheets but it's not there. T^T Just listening to the music makes me think back on the whole drama and I get tears from the music alone. The dynamics and emotions just pour out of the music and it's simply so beautiful. Like even before watching the drama, listen to Main Theme-Empress Ki. BEAUTIFUL

Cast: They did SUCH a great job on casting like each person was MEANT for that role. I was so captured by the acting and this drama that I felt like I was IN the drama. That's why the emotional impact was 10000x more for me.

This drama is so good and fun, especially for IU fans. First of all, can I just say IU's outfits were FLAWLESS and she SLAYED?? Props to the costume person. I really liked the idea of this drama and it was really interesting. Personally, I loved her backstory and historical life with that guy ;) Maybe it's cuz I am a HUGE fan of historical dramas but that story was so interesting. As for the OSTs, every single song is so good and I have them saved to my Spotify playlist. The cinematography in this drama is so beautiful and amazing. The slow-motion scenes, the landscapes, the facial expression. All beautiful.

I thought IU did such a great job acting in this drama and she was so funny. As for Gu Cheon Sang, I can't believe he grew up this fast!! I knew him from playing the young king in Moon Embracing the Sun and now he's over here playing a lead role. He did pretty good too, but I thought his crying scenes were a bit awkward and funny. But it's okay!! He will improve and become better.

I thought this drama was overrated at first, but when I watched it, I realized why there was a lot of hype. Standing alone, this drama was really good, but if I compare it to other dramas I've watched, I wouldn't say it was AMAZING. But focusing on this one, I really loved the storyline, like imagine waking up in North Korea and falling in love with one of the soldiers. It's a wild ride HAHAH. I actually really loved the second lead couple and I was so sad when Gu Chan Seong...ya know :< Captain Ri's aegyo was HILARIOUS and that Pil Soo guy really brought the comedy in this drama.

I don't know why this drama gets a lot of backlash because I thought the plot was amazing and clever. It was so fun to watch everything play out and resolve. Yoo Seung Ho did such a great job playing his role and he plays a crown prince SO WELL. Kim So Hyun is such a queen of course, like from the variety of roles she played before, now she's in the historical times WOW and she did well. I watched this drama with my family and we all enjoyed it together.

One thing that BROKE my heart was the second female lead because she is such a queen, such a boss and even stood up to her evil grandfather and died. Her love for the crown prince was so genuine and so pure, even though she wasn't. She did A LOT for him and honestly it would've been hard for him to succeed without her help.
I also LOVE every single one of the OSTs in this drama and I love singing along to them.
