Can u say buckets of tears. I was bawling the last 30 minutes. The young actors did a phenomenal job with the acting felt like it was real and not filmed. it was nostalgic as the adults reminisced on their younger summer days. The journey is beautiful and the story captivates you. Towards the end as the music gets sadder so is the story and the tears start. The lead girl needs an oscar all her movies shes excellent.

Often implausible, but interesting and has nicely developed main characters

As a mystery/detective series, the cases in the story are intriguing enough. However, the way the cases are solved is often too far-fetched. The skills of Shen Yi, an artist turned cop, are better placed in a series featuring someone with supernatural powers. And while the biggest case of the series (the one case that, by convention, we are introduced to at the start and only gets solved right at the end) does get very interesting, the way the case is solved seems a little too implausible (and it's not because of Shen Yi's skills, which we have probably gotten used to by the end of the series).

Still, there is plenty to love about this series. The acting is good. The portrayal of the changes in the relationship between Shen Yi and Du Cheng is excellent, making them characters whom we feel for. They have pretty solid back stories that are related to the mystery cases and shape their respective characters. The friendship is nicely developed without pandering to fans who want to see bromance, and this may be a good thing too. We see how Du Cheng is at first hostile towards Shen Yi, how he begins to recognize Shen Yi's abilities, his increasing concern for Shen Yi, his protectiveness towards the artist who barely knows how to use a gun, and his genuine acceptance that Shen Yi should not be blamed for an incident causing a senior policeman to die years ago. Even before Du Cheng says it directly, we can see that he regards Shen Yi as a friend and a colleague he looks up to. And eventually he uses the term "buddies".

If you are really demanding in terms of the plausibility of the cases and how the are solved when it comes to detective stories. I won't really say this is highly recommended. But if you can suspend a bit of disbelief and take it that Shen Yi's abilities are so extraordinary that they border on being superpowers, this is actually a very enjoyable series.

Beautiful, healing drama with a lovely ending

This was truly a gem. I wasn't so sure about the OTP after the first episode, but the setting was so gorgeous, I almost didn't care. But I was hooked by the second episode.

The two main characters both had such heartbreaking insecurities and backstories, you couldn't help but root for their happiness and love. They had wonderful chemistry and a healthy, supportive relationship, despite a rocky start. I loved their willingness to make sacrifices for each other -- and their UNwillingness to let the other person make those sacrifices too. I also loved the way they understood each other's deepest insecurities and how protective they were toward each other, even if it wasn't always the best decision.

The side characters also grew on me. Without giving away too much, this drama turned a couple of classic tropes on its head, with certain storylines unfolding in unexpected ways.

During family trips to China when I was young, I remember hearing about the many large, historic buildings that were built without a single nail; I loved how this story was also an ode to traditional craftsmenship and the artisans who protect these endangered skills. (And for anyone curious, this drama was filmed in Wuyi County in Zhejiang, at the Jingyuan Ancient Houses Museum.)

As I mentioned in the comments, I would watch this drama for the scenery and mood alone -- give me a cozy blanket, mini stove heater, a pot of hot tea, rocking chair, a book (or a tablet to watch dramas ?), put me in one of these courtyards, and I would be content for daaaaaayyyyys.

It's more of a slow-burn/slice of life story, but I personally found the romance swoony and the backdrop of art and ancient homes absolutely fascinating. The friendships were also wonderful, and I loved the ending. Of course there are flaws and minor quibbles, but overall, I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a quiet and lovely drama.

(Oh, there are also very adorable puppies and kittens throughout -- these magical puppies never seem to grow up despite years passing, lol!)

To be completely honest, I haven't got the slightest idea why everyone gives that movie a rating of 8 or higher. Pretty much 2/3 of the things that happened were filler and almost all the "important stuff" happened within the last 10 minutes. Yes, it was interesting to see how the main character got to where he was at the end of the movie but the amount of filler was just too much. And let's not even talk about the ending. Was that even an ending? Not only did we not get a conclusion to EITHER of the interesting storylines, we not even got rid of the most annoying of characters with the least of (known) background story.

I would have giving the drama a clear 2/10 rating but I had to add the 1.5 Star bias-bonus for Sean Xiao, so 3.5/10 it is.

It's nice that I watched it, just because now I can say I watched it, but I probably won't recommend it now or probably ever.

Overhyped and Shallow

I watched it during the initial run and thought it was ok (not good not great) but after some glowing reviews in this site i thought maybe if i watch it again, binge waching this time may be i will start to love it.
Sadly it was worse
It is being considered as a drama similar to Descendant of the sun. It is easy to see why, it is lighthearted on the whole, over dramatic and over the top story wise and beautiful to look at(asthetics of characters not cinematography as a whole). But what DOTS did better was it maintained the tone throughout and thus made the experiance a lot more enjoyable.
After rewatch, the scenes that impacted me most or even made me care about the characters where of Seo Ji Hye and Kim Jung Hyun. This made me realize how shallow the main couple where and meaningless their journey was. I had to skip most of the scenes during rewatch.
If the second couples journey was chiched as the main couples may be i would have rated it more (Strange!! I Know). But their journey showed me that the drama was capable of being much more impactfull, but sadly they didnt even try.....

Regret of watching S2

Seriously, it's a rare when I was writing is review... I haven't watch the trailer and just watched the whole of season 2. I thought Jojo would ended up with Sun Oh because the chemistry was no joke, better than when she was with hye yeoung... JJ and SO looked natural together but when with HY, felt like being forced, it lack of chemistry. The story should not ended up like this. Duk Gu character development is somehow quite lack of something but Gul Mi is worthy to watch in this season but she can be develop more actually..

For those who are fan of Jojo and Sun Oh, better drop this season and just imagine the best ending of your own with Jojo and Sun Oh happily find their love back.

I just finished watching it and I was satisfied to some extent.

What makes this short film interesting was the story itself. It will pierce right through your heart most especially if you know someone who is experiencing such thing. There are things where we really cannot control but I do believe that love knows no gender. I don't agree that being homosexual is a sin.

Anyways, the characters did a good job. Though it was just a short film they were able to deliver the message that they wanted to say to the audience or the viewers. I like the English music that they have used by the way. Story wise, this film was amazing. If you are not just going to watch it but empathize with the characters and you can better appreciate the beauty of this film.

Worth my time and highly recommended.

This is not an average "virus infection" series.
The story is very good with lots of details. You have to see all the episodes to understand everything, everyone and to catch up with the storyline. They selected the best actors/actresses for playing the characters. Along the happenings you'll get confused by them and don't know who the good and bad guys anymore. It's just amazing! I didn't get bored during the episodes because everything happens so fast and there's no stop.
By the way I haven't read the manga, but still love this drama. It's a very special series of investigation stories. It's very exciting!
For the rewatch value I gave only 5 because I don't think there's any meaning of watching it again there's a lot of thing that won't make a great impression on you for the second time.

When I started watching this, I kept in mind that the whole drama was going to be a little different than most k-dramas (no company politics, thank God--a nice change, if anything).

From the reviews, I got the idea that this was a slow-paced love story between two friends that was years in the making. I loved how this was realistically handled, although there were some inevitable clichés that come hand in hand with the best-friends-turned-lovers storyline.

From the beginning, you realize that, while the two main leads are extremely close (they've been friends for 30 years, as they like to say), they didn't feel for each other romantically. Or, at least, they were able to suppress those feelings because they were so comfortable with each other that you barely noticed the sexual tension lying there under the surface. Moving in together (not really spoiler-ish since it happens early in the drama) only heightened the levels of sexual tension and made them aware of each other in *that* other way. But -the way I see it- it was there all along.

I really enjoyed the close friendship between all the other characters (mostly the main leads' college friends) and the way each of them became a significant character that got its own camera time. It wasn't annoying that they explored other characters' own storylines; I even found myself sometimes waiting for them to appear because they were just as important as the main leads to me.

The acting was great: Lee Jung Jin & Soo Ae had loads of chemistry and were able to convey the air of two people that were incredibly comfortable with each other. The rest of the cast was great as well.

The music, I'm sad to say, was pretty generic k-drama music that sounds eerily familiar (like, you've heard variations of it only a billion times in different dramas).

I have to mention one last thing though. I thought the last episode was a little abrupt, and the major reason this drama earned itself a 'very good' rating instead of anything better. The conflict that kept the two main leads apart was suddenly (and randomly, the way I see it) resolved; I felt cheated. If it was that simple, then why was it a conflict from the beginning? That's the thing that annoyed me the most.

Overall, it's a good drama that I enjoyed watching.

The story of this drama is fine. It is definitely not good for kids under 18. The songs were good. The cast was good. the chemistry between Risa and Pong was lit and superb. There were a lot of emotional moments. But the ending was very shocking. It could not worse than this. The last 2 episodes basically showed reconciliation of pong and Risa but then a tragedy happened. I cried a lot in the end(really a lot). At the last there is message displayed reading that "the love which is against religious perspective is wrong", is absolutely wrong according to the story. The mistress and the husband who actually deceived a simple and kind woman did not get hur at all . Instead the innocent ones had to face horrible consequences and were hurt a lot. I wish a miracle could have happened at the end and the story would end happily. But the makers spoilt it.

What a great little series!

i liked this series from the beginning......thought the (lack of) chemistry between the two main characters was intriguing as was the premise of having a one-night stand that goes wrong in all kinds of ways. But after the end, I LOVE it. Here's why:

-- The actors were great. Yves Flores is experienced and it shows. The breakdown of his walls (physical and emotional) was beautifully reflected through the story arc of the series. Iyo Canlas had a tougher job, for me.....because I did not "bond" with his rather silly "true love's kiss" character. But Reb develops, too and -- maybe because his hopes get dashed -- he develops a much more mature perspective on relationships. Iyo played that change (which really only comes at the end) beautifully. When JM was crying in Reb's arms, you could see the fantasies coming down.

-- The plot was slow at times, but when you complete the whole series you get a better perspective and you can appreciate the whole story very clearly. Reb's flighty instability in the beginning was actually essential to providing room for him to grow and change. And because the plot is not rushed or superficial, it is believable, in the end, that two so dissimilar people might actually grow towards each other, and become capable of that kind of peaceful, accepting love.

-- The music was really good! I hope somebody pulls together a compilation, so I can re-listen. (There's a list of credits at the end but for a non-Filipino speaker it is hard to figure out which song is which.....) [Update: a fellow fan sent me this link for an OST playlist, which others might find useful: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1EeuOc_JdZw&list=PLXjXbBD8EzbnQ8p7cWorcwIPgKtKrjehz . My favorite song is Kargo. ("Nandito lang ako.....") Gotta go back and do a rewatch to remind myself how all these songs fit into the series plot.]

-- The entire series takes place inside one residence, so there's not a lot of scope for grand camera work. But the director and cinematographer made great use of close-ups. JM's and Reb's faces -- whether smiling, skeptical, eager or crying -- were the essence of the visuals and they were beautiful.

-- I do agree that some of the discussion about the nature of love came across as cheesy. But beneath that, there was an interesting question (how can two people who don't really agree on the nature of love get along?) , and an even more interesting answer: maybe love is not the same for everyone, and maybe couples need to find their own connections in their own ways.

This is the best Pinoy BL series of 2021 (so far). It is original, well-acted and has a lovely vibe. Well worth a watch.

Love it

I just finished watching this series and while it was airing
I was impatiently waiting for every episode. I really love it.

I like the story, the main actors and the way they portrait the characters. I love that she is magically transferred into a romance novel and I laughed a lot at the way she was trying to become the main heroine. I also enjoyed their steamy kisses... wink wink very well played. Markus sure knows how to kiss a lady.
I find this show refreshing, funny and heartwarming... and easy to watch.
I would recommend it to everyone.

Extraordinary drama, got reminded of dots

The story reminds us of dots, where the male and female lead meets at a evacuation site and they slowly care about each and other and finally fall in love and then a story from the past shutters their love but i hope they'll bounce back again, for the first time I couldn't feel bored even it is 40 episode drama, completed 38 episodes, waiting for the last two episodes now, the side stories are equally good, each and everyone did splendid job, this is suitable for everyone,it can be re-watched again, such a wonderful drama.
