I absolutely loved this movie.

This movie was a ride for sure. During this whole movie, it explores the struggles that the ML goes through, and what leads to the motives for the FL and their friends to be able to change his future and not let their regrets get to them; to save him.

I absolutely loved the strong friendship that has been expressed and their understanding, to be able to show their love and look out for each other. Although, I have some disappointment that the chemistry between the ML and FL were not explored some more. I wish that their romance was more flowed to bloom my expectations for them to eventually get together.

Though, I have not read the manga for “Orange,” I feel that this movie sent me to tears as the ML struggles with depression. This movie explores his struggles and impacts that he faces, which leads for a letter sent to his friends of regrets that they have. The ending had made me feel emotional.

The cast did such a great job in playing out their roles, they play out such healthy friendships and the chemistry with each other. There were a lot of emotions that you will feel when watching this movie. For me personally, I strongly relate with the movie.

I also feel that rewatching this movie wouldn’t let me feel the emotions that I felt when watching it for the first time. To me, blindly watching a series/movie for the first time with unexpected emotions or anything without much spoiler drives me to feel the emotion physically and emotionally if you push yourself to watch it from start to end.

Overall, I give this movie a 8/10 as there was some things that had disappointed me. But at the same time, this movie is amazing and gives representation to the struggles that the ML struggles with. Also, Dori; Tao; and Kento were in this movie so it gave me a strong motivation to watch this movie.

If you are looking for something that will send you into an emotional ride, the exploration of a friendship and to look out for each other then I strongly recommend this.

it's like a very cute but small purse

the crash hello in the beginning was Very Cute, i actually had to go back and replay it the first time i watched this because i found it so charming. on the other hand, it foretold what the rest of this movie was like: cute but lacking substance

it's something to be expected from k BLs, so i'm not upset about it, although the conflict here does feel really....overblown and dramatic for how it developed or turned out lmao.

the pacing was actually not rushed, which is a rarity for what we tend to get in BLs from South Korea, but actual development of the plot? wonky. We sometimes jump around places without any much sense of where stuff actually is or...why the characters are there (or How did they get there, like can anyone just walk into Haewon's place without anyone stopping him? is there no locks in his room? lol), nor do you really ever understand why a 15 year friendship gets threatened so severely over Haewon...I mean the characters do tell you but you don't ever get the sense that it was ever THAT serious, even when they're legitimately fist fighting over it.

it IS still quite cute, Haewon in particular reminded me a bit of a calmer but still adorable puppy, (his smile is also very Luminous, it's unsurprising how the two friends were instantly attracted to him), but substance? nope, not here. I was already somewhat aware of this when I watched it but yeah, do your best to turn off that brain lol. is otherwise pretty okay considering the entire movie is literally 1.5 hours and the original series was only 10 minutes long per episode.

This is the story of two young people who - after a special brain surgery - gain the ability to, basically, predict the future. But actually, this is the story of a brutal murder of a family and of the revenge the sole survivor takes. But really, it's the story of a special friendship between two lab rats and the lengths the one goes to save the other.

There's no romance in this movie. Madoka and Kento could, possibly, one day become more if given the chance but at the time of the film, they're just friends. And while Kento is determined to avenge his late family and die together with the murderer, Madoka is just as determined to stop him and save his life.

I can't believe I felt sorry for the director, Kento's father, at first. As the story progressed and we saw what really happened from Kento's POV, what he had heard, lying comatose, what was done to him... yikes.

Also, I want to believe that Madoka and Kento found each other again at some point. I think there were enough hints dropped - she came to say goodbye to the professor (why? he knows her father, he knows the lab), when the professor started talking about why Kento disappeared, she cut him off, she was out of the lab again etc. And after everything she had done to find Kento, I don't think she would just let him disappear like that, especially in his state of mind...

Also #2, the movie's score is absolutely incredible!

Overall, a really good sci-fi movie with some interesting twists!

One of those heartbreaking movies...

I know there are a lot of people out there who loves to watch a movie that makes them smile a little bit and cry a whole lot more. Then "2037" is the film for you.

Let's talk about Hong Ye Ji's acting playing Yoon young, knowing now that this is her first work in acting has actually left me speecheless. The amount of feelings that she succeeded to convey to me was tremoundous.
The pain, the sadness, the unfairness and the desperateness were all very well acted out by her.

She dropped out of school without her mother knowing to pay off the medication and her father's debt, but she still wanted to take the governemant exam eventually. They were happy or let's stay stable until IT happened. You know what happened : the unexpected things that life throws at you. I'll leave them for you to discover.

I'm not sure how to feel about the fact that a 19 years old girl went through all of this and also knowing that there are girls out there who were hurt the same way. I'm hurting for them and want them to know that they are a strong loved person if they've ever come to read this.

About her mother Kyeong Sook whenever she appeared i was crying buckets because Kim Ji Young's acting was on another level. She is a deaf person with asthma, she learned how to speak for her daughter, she was hurting for her daughter but as Soon Je, a co-inmate in a death row sentence within the Cell No. 12, said: For their kids, mothers are much stronger than you think. She was so sorry that she couldn't protect her daughter and give her the life that she wanted for her. As i saw her holding that pizza and wandering barefooted, my heart was wrecked, she really wanted to believe that her daughter is fine, that she is going to be fine.

All the co-inmates in Cell No. 12 had their own stories unfolded and then comforted by Yoon Young at the end, they offered protection and nurtered her each in their own way.

This is the end for those who haven't watched it yet, i would highly advise you to go watch it and get some tissues and band-aids for your heart ready!

MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD, DON'T READ, GO WATCH THEN COME BACK. (It's sort of a conclusion to me personally)

Yoon Young's wish was that it's all going to be a dream, it was granted at he end after much suffering both physically and much more mentally. She gave up her daughter named by her inmates "Boni" for adoption, she wished her to grow well and beautiful, she didn't abandon her but she did this to protect her as she said it about Sa Rang's parents, so i can conclude for the sake of my heart that she accepted her and loved her at the end. Most importantly, she did end up again happy with her mother and having an interview to become a government employee.

I was trying to avoid watching a heartwrenching movie like this for so long now because it affects me so much and i know it will stay with me for so long but yeah it is what it is.

I only watch this for KIM YOO JUNG, and that's the best part of the movie

This is the first Korean movie that made me cry, when Kim Yoo Jung appeared for the second time, that moment is so BEAUTIFUL. If she's not in the movie, I barely want to watch at all. the ENDING IS PERFECT.

Anyway, this movie is a waste of talented actors. Slow pace plot at the beginning, gets more interesting during the food delivery scene.

Kang Dong Won as a nice guy was boring at the beginning. He played better villain in this movie.

DaeMyung, JaeMyung, HyoJoo did a great job, but they can't save this movie at all.

Blame the plot, blame the script. Korean movies need to learn from TV Dramas, don't be a drag. Get rid of the fillers. The flashback scenes are totally not hitting it. Should have gone full action on this one.

Don't tell me you can watch this without yawning. When your movie standard is Taxi Driver and Parasite, this just ain't it.

uh...no.

Only watched an hour of it. The entire time I was caught up and yet still confused. There was no build up to anything. Just a bunch of unnecessary side stories and flashbacks and rape scenes that are supposed to explain how a man fell in love with his bully. Personally I think one is an emotional pussy who uses violence because he can't own up to his own emotions and the other one is a sadistic sociopath that needs help. Either way this movie is terrible and I would not recommend it to anyone.

it's very good watch .. won't regret watching this

okk
i am still getting cured after seeing this movie i mean its very sad and the story of parallel universe was very cool but the fact that kakero had a lot of problems and that wasnt easily solvable and that he hated himself for everything makes me feel very sad and its like a weight in my heart but now tge saddest part was that the friends couldn't help him so they decided to time travel and give their younger self the letters the female lead and the second lead were a perfect group i love their friendship i like how suhwo was helping gis crush with his bestfriend i was very happy with the drama the only sad part is that the future was not chaning for the people who had gone through the dead and everthing and i was sad
...if you haven't watched the dra this wont make sense
but i loved the movie even though some parts were not fully explained then also i loved it and i am happy that atleast the past self had a happy future

A very important movie in the Zhang Yimou-Gong Li filmography

This was a groundbreaking movie of Zhang Yimou, with a formidable Gong Li starring as the peasant heroine of the late 1980s. It was spot on. So many things I could compare to real life back then, and yet a good story.
Qiu Ju goes to court had both comedy and tragedy, together with being a mirror to the bygone era of teeming masses.
The music is almost exclusively folk tunes and Chinese opera excerpt, and the sounds are real life, so it is very realistic.

With the new drama "The Story of Xing Fu" translating the story into the 21st century, this movie is worth rewatching again for comparison. In the new story, the countryside is more tame, despite the lingering rural-urban divide, which was poignant in the movie.

This movie - and manga - deals with heavy subjects, in particular with depression and suicide, both done and attempted, so beware!

I've been reading the manga - currently, I'm up to the end of vol. 4 - so I was curious how the movie compared to that. And I must say that Yamazaki Kento was amazing as Kakeru!

What I loved most about the story was the theme of friendship above everything. It didn't really matter who ended up with whom - if Naho ended up with Kakeru or Suwa or with neither of them - what really mattered was the friendship among all the six characters. Because it was not romance what kept Kakeru alive in the end, it was friendship.

To me, it was really interesting how the five friends, warned by their future selves of what would happen to Kakeru, decided to save him. Because it's quite easy to stop someone from getting hit with a brick or enter a plane that's about to crash. But how do you save someone from himself? How do you convince someone not to kill himself?

I loved the way they went about it, showing Kakeru again and again that they were there for him, that they loved him, that whatever burden weighed down on him, they would help him carry it. It truly warmed my heart, all of their love for Kakeru - and his love for them which swayed his decision in the end. It was so beautiful...

Overall, a really good, heart-warming movie. Highly recommended!

Just Action packed movie more American in styling than Chinese

I watched it because of Jacki chan and Yang Yang ,, to be honest ,, Jacki Chan wasn't that good even as a boss in the movie ,, it was meh ,, his action scenes is something of reminiscing about old jacki Chan action movies in America nothing more
also the nature and the styling in the movie seemed like American action movie ,, it doesn't have chinese tropes or Chinese emotional scenes that makes them unique ,, it was all explosions ,, car chasing and fights but may be the famously CGI chinese edits even the animals were crappy CGI ,, It was so obvious
the story had potential of some romance but it didn't show any but moment or two ,,, it had potential for emotional scenes but they cut it way too short ,,, it was good amusing watch ,, funny sometimes with the flying skate board soldier seemed from marvel universe super hero or Captain china wtf ??!!
what is captain china ?? they has their own heroes they didn't need American's marvel crap
Yang Yang was amazing in his actions scenes but they didn't give him much space to act in romantic or even emotional scenes like when he was trying to save his friend
Also representing Arabs was hamulating as usual ,,, more like America represents Arabs ,, I'm an arab so I felt offended
overall it's not bad movie but expect more actions like Americans do it than chinese heart felt emotional drama

Quite decent for a horror flick...

It's got enough suspense to make you sweat at the edge of your seat, but my most favorite part was The Caretaker.
It would be good if they also added a bit of a backstory about the GwangLim Church and what horror lies in that closet.
From how the cult leader looked, he must've been in that basement for decades, with all that spell plastered on his body.
But then I kinda knew from the start that the caretaker would be the end game. This is already familiar to me.

At the end of the movie, my guess is that his girlfriend already knew that he's no longer her boyfriend the moment she saw him.
Instinct kicked in.

Hopeful

This is perhaps one of the best Japanese movie I’ve seen. At first I was just looking for a Japanese BL due to most recent released of JBLs when suddenly clicked on this and tried to look for reviews and the rest is history. lol

I was really impressed by the storyline, at first I was thinking if Jun Yamamoto is really a ghost. Hahahaha But things turned out at the end, it was he’s twin brother. Huhuhu

I also love how the leads portrayed their character, I just love the chemistry despite that this is not a BL that I am looking for.

I cried, yes I cried at middle of the story maybe because this is soo touching and heartwarming. This is not about friendship. I have learned to value your family, people around you and most especially, loving yourself.

Over all, this is a must and worth to watch/rewatch.

Thanks for giving us such a masterpiece, indeed!

An Intimate movie

It is true that it is set in 2011 and in South Korea, but it is tiring and tiring that gay stories always end with a sad ending for the simple fact of being Gay. Even so, we must highlight the atmosphere, the complicity with the viewer, how well the actors act, but even so, as I said, it is a tragedy that reinforces the misfortune of the destiny of being Gay in society. Only if you want to suffer for this is it advisable to see it, although its performance certainly deserves applause and I atmosphere the performance, but it hurts too much and leaves unknowns to be resolved, such as how it is possible to hide a double life for five years. finally hard and sad

Damn good horror. I didn't yell at the characters too much.

As the tag indicates, there's some gore. Personally, it just makes me wanna gag so I just fast-forwarded through those. Blood and guts just don't do it for me, sorry.

The atmosphere though? Nailed it. It's not a 'chills down my spine' effect. It was more of a dread that seeped under my skin and clung to my bones. Even when the settings were more comforting, lively, or even mundane, I was tense. They did well in keeping that consistent.

The usual horror tropes are here but I don't mind them as long as it's executed well. Characters who have never seen a single horror movie in their life? Check. Flickering lights? Check. A protagonist who can't catch a break? Triple check.

Moral of the story: Turn the car around. Go home. Live a long, boring but curse-less life.

Leaves you grossed out and in disbelief

The acting is actually very good but it lacked plot. There isn't much actions besides gore scenes that pop up randomly. The people who acted as the crazy or infected ones in this movie are very brave considering what they had to do in this movie and the sudden switch from not infected to being infected is crazy! I don't wince at gore scenes but this movie had me wincing at almost every scene from just how real they made the gore look. The ending was also very shocking and it did leave some unanswered questions but I think for the most part it was the best way to end it instead of some other paths they could've taken. I won't ever rewatch this since I want to have some sanity left and don't wish to be grossed out again but don't listen to the description. It's just rape and gore on max with some small scenes at the beginning and a small talking scene at the end. The actors did well though, just wasn't the right movie for them.
