Gotta watch out for people that give out easy 9s-10s for mediocre shows like these

Watched this because I like the FL in "She Was Pretty". That one was exciting. Dragged some bit but overall fun and energetic.

This show, someone said the first two episodes were not so good and to watch at least 4. Got to 5 because I was desperately hoping this would pick up. Skimmed through 6 and now I'm dropping this.

A huge copy paste romance, interesting story pitch but not very good execution. I totally don't get the attraction between her and the ML computer guy too and for a guy that claims an INSANE 200 IQ which is extremely rare in the world, handful of people, he stumbles on words and acts like a regular person. See him try his best memorizing basic lines. Anyhow, extremely boring and generic. Pretty disappointed. Having a harder and harder time trusting you guys with rating stuff....

I have somewhat mixed reactions to this film. On the one hand, beautiful actors, naked bodies as it usually is in the Philippines (warm, hot, stuffy almost all year round, unless there is a monsoon or typhoon), the story is almost like from a red library (or a pink film library?). The music was also beautiful in the second part (as if I had already heard some passages). It was all good, including the fact that in the end Raffy also achieved his desire to get an education (you know, except for the Czech Republic and a few other countries, education has to be paid hard everywhere else).

But I was bothered by the illogicality of some small details of the story, which in the end didn't even have to be there, the naivety that I expect in Asian (Pinoy movies) was a bit too much for my taste here (adult Marco drowning again and Raffy saving him again), some strangeness in Marco's behavior.

But overall, a nice fairy tale with male beauty and an awareness of how simple people live in this island kingdom and a good feeling that on gaytitulky.info we can have more complex and comprehensive information about some films than on IMDb itself.

Cheap version

I would never understand how we can enjoy this show which is a remake of a masterpiece that did not need another version.

Actors have fewer charisms, actors are less emotional. There is no soundtrack comparable to that of the Taiwanese version. Everyone who has seen the original version shouts for help.

There are remakes that should not exist and botch this masterpiece in fast Netflix production while the story is longer and detailed in the original it's waste.

I don't recommend this version

This Series is Horrible Shit

This is absolutely horrible and useless! Who on earth directed this??? The ending wasn't necessary at all. I hate Dew's mother so fricking much and also the Fern girl who's a bitch for all I know in this series. This series was going good at first but all fell apart with that dumbass ending. This series doesn't even deserve a half star and is just complete bullshit. Don't waste your time watching this junk, try watching "My School President" it's definitely a masterpiece compared to this shit here. Do not recommend this so called "The Best Life" .. its more like "The worst life"

eu amei bastante desse k-drama. achei coeso e até divertido

eu amei o k-drama.

Brilliant production, brilliant story, brilliant actors

I didn't expect this series to be this good. At first, I was hesitant to watch it because it had more episodes than other Thai series, and the running time was even longer than other series. I thought it would be boring, but I was wrong because I really enjoyed every episode.
From the first episode, the source of the main conflict in this series is perfectly depicted. From the first episode alone it was already full of tension, and I couldn't stop watching after finishing one episode. That's because the cliffhanger tempted me to watch more.
Every actor in this series left a deep impression on me. Their acting is pitch perfect, and each character stands out in their own way. Even though it is a historical series, it is not boring at all, in fact there are many things we can learn from this series. I will definitely rewatch it. I can say this is the best BL series I have ever watched.

Butterfly effect

This show gives a warning about suicide at the beginning but it happens in ep 11, and ep 12 is about what happened if Min-ju never committed suicide.
The difference between sad and happy ending is shown to make us all think about how we treat people in our lives.
One person's act affected so many lives around her, and yet she though of herself to be so insignificant ....
She wasn't a bad person without any hope for redemption. No. She was just an emotional teenager that nobody understood and cared about.
The time travel, the search for the love lost in time ....all of that wouldn't have happened if someone was there for Kwon Min-ju to help her overcome a difficult time in her life...
This story is teaching us that every single life and person is precious, no matter how strange that person seems. We should care about the weak and shy and withdrawn persons not because we pity on them, but because they are human, just like us and try to accept, understand and include them.
Also, it is teaching persons who are like that to not overthink, not to try too hard to be accepted and to seek for help and support in people around them. Min-ju just couldn't see that people like that are already around her.
The story is showing us that Si-heon became a friend of In-gyu. Without that friendship he would have probably become to be the same as Min-ju.
Anyway...this drama is great and I hope it leaves everyone thinking about persons they meet in their lifetime as well as themselves.

This Pinoy film is a bit different from the usual scheme of gay films

This Pinoy film is a bit different from the usual scheme of gay films from this East Asian archipelago. No poverty this time.

And I can have a rather sugary Filipino pink gay book once in a while. I can look at a picture with a very simple story through Asian eyes and not be a critical European. But the end of the film is certain.

For the incidentally very decent processing (camera, editing), I deducted three out of ten points for the "shower" scenes, when the men were constantly showering in their briefs, while the Philippines is completely natural when it comes to eroticism and sex, a bit rougher erotic scenes and "fish" the kissing scene between Manny and Levi (fishy means when a straight actor is not capable of "normal" kissing with another man and just puckers his lips forward like a carp on dry land).

Overall, I'm happy with the pinoy fairy tale...

I like it

8.75 whew this is a hard show to review beause i cant review it solely based on it as its show on its own merits because it is so similar to original show which is one my favorite shows of all time. i kept trying not to do direct comparisons but it was impossible.

to the best of my ability, as a show on its own, i think this a good show with good emotion and heart. thats literally all i can say without talking about the original show, someday or one day (sood)

sood feels more raw and bit more goofy and present in playfulness and humor, both giving it a certain spark i just cant shake and still makes me more attached to it.

this iteration feels more polished and serious and dramatic in tone and flare, which makes me feel less of a magic spark personally. however, this version had the heart it needed to make me care. even though i basically knew everything that was gonna happen, i was still sitting in anticipation and excited for each episode. i was sobbing during it which is a good sign. i think the show picked a perfect theme song with seo ji won’s in my tears. i felt the romance and the pain. i could NOT take 2002->2023/Current Day ahn hyo seop seriously. i think that jeon yeo been (esp her) and ahn hyo seop did a great job the chemistry and bond between the main trio wasnt as good as it could have been and as it was in the original and same goes for the villain. i cannot tell you if the show
on its own makes sense bc i have watched the original several times and understand the plot based on that, but i do appreicate some of the holes/unanswered questions it fixed. LOVE the final scene.

in short, this made feel the romance and pain and yearning i wanted. its a great remake and a good show on its own. sood is just that girl to me. always will be. glad i watched this though.

Dumb and Dumber with time travel

I love that they used a novel as the source material for this show because books spend more time on the emotional arcs of the main characters. This one is worth watching for the last few episodes...but...but

But, here some things got lost in the translation from three three-dimensional characters in a novel to what we see finally from one of the main characters...

let's call it a basic-b syndrome or a cardboard cut-out of a closed heart and true hating of anything related to happiness. I'm being kind here...

It could be the casting. I read one of the leads was recast at the last moment. Or they used a shredder to the original concept and improvised the worst parts of a selfish human being and did that for a few episodes. I'm complaining because I like the concept, and the actors are good...

You can punch holes in the rules of time travel and probably when things finally get to a hint of romance. I have questions about how one of the characters magically becomes less dumb.

Why was I yelling at the screen at the actions of one of the leads (no spoilers)...but you will know what I mean when you see it.

That's the big question: will you stick with it and get to the good parts? YES, I believe in time travel and I've seen your future. You will have to see how it ends. And that's why I grudgingly give an overall 9 out of 10 because I have NO choice.

This has become one of my top cdramas ever, and not just in 2023. Absolutely everything about this was a joy to watch, but I especially loved the relationships between the characters. It's hard to find a drama nowadays that doesn't focus on romance, and this drama is an example of one that's perfectly done even without one. The production was top notch, and everything just looked high budget and realistic (martial arts, settings, costumes etc) which made it so easy to immerse yourself into their story.

100% would recommend - watch for the friendship and the mysteries!

An excellent series, romantic, with an intense chemistry

Story focused on 2 twins separated by parental divorce, 1 star & 1 archaeologist. The star (burn-out?) disappears one day and the team asks the archaeologist to take her place so as not to break current contracts, in particular a "girlfriend" contract with the CEO of a large group. (the ML).

PROS:
+ rhythmic, catchy beginnings. The viewer is hooked from the start.
+ Lots of bickering, great chemistry and lots of sweet moments (the 2 leads are only really together in episode 15, but their interactions are always intense).
+ I didn't know Song Yang Fei before, but she plays a strong FL, smart, super elegant, with a strong temperament, to perfection. (I really like her “boyfriend/hammer”).
+ Gao Han Yu is excellent in cold ML, focused on his business, but who is gradually becoming more human.
+ dynamic production
+ The OSTs accompany emotions well without being intrusive.

CONS:
- The Storyline is full of clichés and "dramaland" coincidences.
- FL2's love story is annoying and takes up too much screen time: she is supposed to be at least 20 years old (she has a job) but she behaves like a spoiled and sulky teenager, extremely childish. This character is annoying as hell. The ML2 has a lot of patience with this “mei mei”. Love letters written on children's paper are too much!
- I would have liked a different ending: the stubbornness of the FL is not convincing, the Happy End should have been longer, more detailed about their life after marriage.

=> I really enjoyed this drama, maybe I will watch it again.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Started well but became a disaster/ Wrong choice of FL

NO SPOILERS!!

What throw me off the most in this drama is acting and script.

Acting:
1. FL: I don’t see many comments on her performance here but everyone comments about it on imdb. I think The lead role is too big for the actress to handle. She needs to learn acting and do more supporting roles for another 4,5 years before she can handle a lead role. Her emotion and facial expression stay the same throughout the drama. When she’s sad, happy, angry, love or being loved- SAME EXPRESSION! I almost think that any other female supporting role in the drama can do this role better than her. They are also more visually attractive. Lead roles have a lot of screen time and character development, therefore, the actress needs to be skillful enough to show the development in character and emotion. Won Ji An failed miserably. Another unpopular opinion is that I personally think she looks better when she doesn’t smile. It gives me a very uneasy and unsettling feeling whenever she smiles. Maybe because it’s fake? IDK.

2. ML: Taecyeon is charming and can definitely act but he couldn’t save the drama

3. All supporting roles: I thought they all did a good job. I’ve never seen the 2nd FL and ML before but the 2nd ML can act quite well. The 2nd FL is not too bad either.

Script: Sometimes i thought the script was written by a 5 years old. No logic or explanation whatsoever. All happened because of this cat man said it is what it is. The drama started very well and showed a lot of potential but then due to bad script and bad acting of FL the show became a disaster. Ep 1-9: worth watching. Ep 10 onwards: just skip.

Ending: Oh yes it’s not a happy ending. So if you’re opt for happy ending only this is not for you. I personally think it’s ok. Some dramas/movies have happy ending, some don’t. But this sad ending doesn’t make me feel sad at all cus it was poorly executed and poor acting. I can feel Taecyoen pain but I can’t feel the FL pain.

Everything you could want from a movie. Old Boy is EVERYTHING you could want from a movie!

Park Chan Wook is a mastermind - First Joint Security Area and then The Vengeance Trilogy! It says something about film journalists that nobody wrote about Park Chan Wook before Oldboy won the grand jury prize at Cannes 2004. Oldboy is the second part (Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance was the first) in a planned revenge trilogy. Sympathy for Lady Vengeance is the third and final instalment.

Dae-su wakes up in an empty room. The door is locked, no windows. His only company is the television. He gets food through a hatch. He works out, writes in his diary. Via the television, he learns that he is wanted for the murder of his wife. His daughter has been adopted by a Swedish couple (a fun small detail because a Swedish soldier also figures in Joint Security Area.) He has been stripped of everything that matters and worst of all, he doesn't know what he did to deserve it! He is fixed, every day is the same. Claustrophobia turns to despair. He tries to commit suicide but fails. After 15 years he is released. Who locked him up?! Why was he locked up!? Why was he released?!

The film is based on a Japanese manga.
