best show

one of my fav kdramas. i watched season 1 when it first came out a few years ago and have been waiting for season two ever since. this show is definitely a kdrama to watch i definitely recommend. the character development is so good. so many people are mad that they make it out that every counter is weak aside from mun but i definitely feel like that adds such a strong bounding to the show as he wasn’t very confident to start with and he had a lot going on in season two (Remember guys he is the MAIN character of the show)

people also tend to find the new counter annoying, personally i think he is adorable and he deserves so much love. his power may be dumb however it has helped them find so many more evil spirits due to them figuring out how to avoid the territory.

he definitely adds a lot to the team.

please watch if you haven’t!

Finding Your True Family

Heartwarming to the last second.
Eunmi and Jinhee are the definition of Ride or Die. That was evident from the start, but we got closer to the characters as they cleared their misunderstandings. While Eunmi and Jinhee's relationship was goals for most of the time I did find it a teensy bit toxic sometimes. But you'll get what I mean when you watch!
It showed us the reality of teen pregnancy (well, one reality ig) without glorifying it (see what I mean in ep 16)
Touched on gay relationships
2 (separate) AMAZING besties for our FLs
A lovely hate-to-love relationship between our police officers <3
It mentioned how blood relations can potentially, truly mean nothing at all but it's the relationships YOU choose. And I loved that.
Flaws -
More Jinhee and Jaewon pleaseee
Didn't like how their love story was so short.

Enduring Love Can Truly Triumph Over Any Challenge or Adversity

The ML is simply amazing with his simple and uncomplicated approach to life. And his love for XX the FL is enduringly endearing. It's worth watching over again his dialogue in the last episode on the day ZXX was discharged from the hospital, as they returned to her home. Pay attention again to the way he handled his mother's fears over the possibility of his not finding joy in his future marriage. The ML's sensitivity to the feelings of his loved ones and his uncanny ability to build hope and dissolve their fears , characteristically , in seemingly childish simplicity, is very disarming. I had already written highly of the FL elsewhere. And I am glad I wasn't disappointed at the end. As for the FL's mother, she's simply adorable, especially with the encounter she had at the hospital with the ML's mother. And she promptly put her words into action the moment that Tianyu came out from seeing the comatose FL- Xin Xing and broke down at the prospect of the FL not regaining consciousness.

Cute, but dull and with serious problems regarding pacing and the story

To say that this series was a disappointment would be a huge understatement. I had high expectations for it after watching the first episode, and I legitimately thought it would be up there with Our Dating Sim and Semantic Error. It looked fun! Daring! Spicy! (considering it’s a korean series).
The three first episodes were great. The pacing could’ve been better, but we still had a lot of episodes to go, and there was plenty of time to pick up some speed.
However, the following three episodes were a mess. Just. A complete disaster. I don’t know what happened, or why, but they decided to fill 80% of each episode with pointless scenes and dialogue, unnecessary misunderstandings, a love square that didn’t really go anywhere and only took up excessive screen-time, and a whole lot of office meetings that I didn’t (or didn’t care to) understand.
The final episode saved it a little for me. I know many have found it rushed and sloppy, but I think it's cute and engaging in a way that episodes 4-7 weren't. It still doesn't bump it up to an 8, though.

The strong points:

- The visuals. Let’s be honest, the actor playing Choi Jun is a godsend - the man is truly beautiful. That helped me get through most of the episodes. As an artist, I just wanted to draw him.
- (Some of) the dialogue. It can be pretty funny at times. The ‘American style’, the ‘Why is it getting bigger??’, their banter at the restaurant table, etc etc. It’s kind of sad, because it shows that the series had the potential to be hilarious and entertaining all the way through.
- (Some of) the scenes the main leads have together, both when they're flirting and after they have started dating. It takes a while to get there, but once you do, it's kind of fun and daring for a k-drama. It's because of these that the rewatch value is higher.

Where it all comes crashing down:

- The acting. It’s not really that good. For Choi Jun, they relied too heavily on the actor being ‘sexy’ or whatever, and for Lee Jun, on him being cute. There are very few moments where the characters feel three-dimensional or natural, and they mostly feel very stiff and, well, acted. It doesn’t help that both actors have quite a blank expression, and don’t really emote with their face.
- The story!! Wtf was that? Why was Lee and Choi’s relationship explored so little? IT’S THE MAIN POINT OF THE SERIES?? Yet they barely talk about it, they barely interact outside the office. They are meant to be childhood friends who reconnected, yet feel like strangers that just dig each other. The fact that we barely see them together until the last episode is frustrating to me.
- Also, like I said, the love square was really unnecessary. Not only did it take away from the main couple, but it also made me root for the other two more than Choi Jun in their ‘quest’ to get with Lee Jun! I don’t think that’s what’s supposed to happen! And then they get an open ending, when they had me hoping they would get together for real.
- The pacing. The office setting was, in this case, a setback for the enjoyability of the series. They shot super long scenes where they are discussing perfume and brand deals with influencers, and it doesn’t really add to the plot. The same idea could be conveyed with much less screentime. I skipped multiple scenes because of this.

Overall, I would not recommend this series. Or, at least, I would recommend the first three eps and the last, but not the rest. The story is nothing new, and they didn’t do anything interesting with it, like I originally thought they would. This is the type of series where you can just watch an edit on YouTube or a TikTok and you'll be fine.

I should have read the review first. Haha...

Have bad feeling when WeTV write this as S1, but many praise this drama in MDL. So without much thought I just jumped into the drama. This also cast one of my fav actress, Yang Zi, so i guess I still gonna watch this anyway. Haha...

To be honest when i first read the cast, quite raising my eyebrow & surprised. I can't really say I know any of the actor & when you click their info, none of the actor you could say have experienced in many drama. So yeah quite worried about how they gonna played their character here & how good this drama will be....

Yeah as you already guess this drama is open ending. I can't say cliffhanger, cause it's not. But just unfinished story that need to be tell with another season. If they're not divided this into several part we will gonna have long *ss drama to watch & recently that's what china try to avoid it. Haha... But this is one of the open ending drama that not pissed me off with the closing curtain....

As PeachBlossomGoddess already explained beautifully in her review, so I'll not gonna talk much about character in here, you can read her review to know. Probably just what i like & not about this drama

Well i gonna talk about what I like first. Cause it's safer... Haha... Gonna talk about a bit spoiler in the don't like part...
+ I really like Yang Zi here. How she played the boyish Wen Xiao Liu (XL) or the women Xiao Yao (XY). She potray them perfectly... When she become XL we can sense how lonely she actually is. And when she potray XY, we can sense how she really understood her place & part...
+ I really like Zhang Wan Yi as Xiyan Cang Xuan (CX). We get many expressions from him.... Especially when he potray CX feeling for XY.
+ I also really like Tan Jian Ci as Xiang Liu (XL) / Fangfeng Bei. We get many feeling from him. The lonely, the cruel, the love.. Oh how many expressions that we can separated one from each other.
+ The relationship between XY & CX is really beautiful. How they support & protect each other no matter what... Love the chemistry between Zhang Wan Yi & Yang Zi.
+ The mischievous grandpa, King of Xiyan. He really surprised everyone with his choice of new king....

What I don't like, sometimes for me doesn't make sense even. Haha... A lot spoiler. So if you don't want to know or get spoiler just stop read until here.

- The biggest question mark still for me how other people can be so stupid & doesn't realize the relationship between XY & Tushan Jing (TJ). Especially after what TJ did when XY almost dead.... Before that yeah ok, they hide it quite well.... But after the incident they literally have to tell other people about their feeling, I mean like TJ grandma & Chishui Feng Long (FL), they're the people that involve really can't read the situation & need to be told, really...?? It's just something that doesn't make sense. Even with CX try to cover it, secret like that usually reveal itself & people gonna talk about it...
- I don't like TJ. Haha... Maybe just like PeachBlossomGoddess wrote, Deng Wei just the wrong actor to play him. Yeah i also agreed with PeachBlossomGoddess, Deng Wei played the part of Ye Shiqi (SQ) good enough, I can sense how gentle & his love for XY, but when the time he need to switch character into TJ something feel amiss. And finally I can really accept why XY fall for SQ. Just like CX said in the few last ep, he is maybe the reason for XY to be falling really deep for SQ & that's quite make sense to me. All the thing that TJ did for XY really make the heart of XY soft & penetrate deep... Cause like XY said herself, she look for a man that make her the priority & that's exactly what TJ did for her... Haha...
- We can't really ship for XY & CX. Haha.... Actually the one person that really gonna do anything for XY is CZ. But XY never feel the same with CX, she really just think him as brother & nothing more. Really sad when I see the sad eyes in CX eyes when XY tell him that she gonna accept FL proposal...
- I don't really get the political issue & hope the second season talk about it more elaborate than this season. This season feel heavy on romance than political...
- Don't know like it or not, but how logic everyone when talk about marriage are. Like CX & his wife or Chenrong Xin Yue and her feeling for CX or how FL and XY marriage itself.... We can sense how important marriage alliance in historical times, so important that feeling must put aside....

Overall this one interesting drama to watch. Really looking forward for the continuing of this story. Hope we don't wait too long for it to be aired.

dissapointing

It's getting quite boring.. and the new counter is annoying. -really?? why do they have to add another counter when the new counter has little to no use ?..

They made it look like Mun is the strongest and the rest of the counters are weak. disappointing. I feel sorry for the character of Mo-tak'. He was supposed to be the strongest coz it's his character in season 1. but now he seems weak. so how does he differ now from other counters?

Please improve the storyline.. or a lot will be dropping this series.

Masterpiece at first and what the hell happened ?

Firstly to be fair the concept is good

First&second episodes where phenomenal and started with nostalgic feeling of 2016 era, this feeling continues till episode 6.

after the sixth episode… omg they literally dragging the ML story and focusing on his storyline !! while forgetting the FL ability!! they could make good stories by using her ability …

but, I love both actors and their chemistry is topnotch that why I will continue this kdrama and pray to NOT waste FL ability anymore and STOP dragging the CASE bcz this a rom-com not crime drama writers so PLEASE stop this nonsense.

Are you ready to meet the Delulu (Delusional) Family?

After a long time, I finally decided to watch this series. I was convinced after watching a couple of clips and when I went in I got so excited. I was too determined that I even used my sick leave thinking I could finish it in a day. That's how fascinated I am with this rich/chaebol drama. Unfortunately, the fun started fading midway as it felt too stretchy. Small wins then big blows which is not that bad, it's just not as exciting for me. I finished the series just for the sake that I want to see how things ended.

Acting-wise, I feel like Im SooHyang carried most of the series together with Bae JongOk. They're both powerful actresses that made their characters come to life which is the main reason as well that I kept going.

I personally don't know someone as rich as the same level as this family but the whole drama going on is so fascinating that I'm actually relieved I'm not as rich as them. There's a lot of twists here and there making it interesting but I kind of feel sad how the ending was rushed.

I'd still recommend this if you're into crazy rich dramas/scenarios or if you want to see rich people fight each other with class but might not be everyone's cup of tea.

Best C Drama minus NC scenes

One of the best Chinese dramas I have ever watched. The chemistry between the actors is off the charts. Plot is out of the world! The best part: The leads' chemistry and love is so pure minus any intimate scenes. No over acting by any of the actors and even support actors are amazing. Worth a re-watch and definitely binge worthy! Extremely unique storyline!
I recommend it to all those who love light romance.
P.S.: No villains too

Each episode has a beautiful beginning. There are no abrupt endings or overdramatic villains/vamps. Negative characters are really subtle in their roles. The time lapses shown are very natural. Evan Lin and Wan Peng look really natural!

Enjoy watching it!

Soothing feeling

the best thing i like about this drama is that this is soul healing and not fast paced

there relationship process is very satisfying and you can feel step by step process in this drama. once you started watching this you can't help but feel very soothing and relaxing feels like healing your soul it has satisfying scenes and views this made me feel the difference between happy tears and sad tears. when you watch this drama you feel very calm by just staring at the scene through the screen and it creat the feeling that you can plan the tour to the Yunan Village for feels the fresh and soothing scenes.
when it ends i feel something is missing because i can't believe it ends here i feel like i was attached to them and want to continue watching but sadly it ends!!

the cast they choose did the very great job to attract amd create the special bonding with the viewers every character is great even side character gives the attached feeling it feels so connected to each other and thanks to mango tv to create this special drama. and wu qian's special appearance can give this drama more feeling coz without this feeling there can't be hong dou can meet xie zhi yao and anything will happen it just feels great without any reason.

also the ost is somewhat catchy and amazing
~ THANKYOU :)

Why is this so boring?

It's just simply boring, I have no other words to say. I don't know how they did it but they managed to make it draggy even with that short runtime. I started skipping at about episode 19, and yes that's on 3 minute long episodes!

The plot just drags...drags...and drags on, there's no end. The whole business/politics/whatthehelllever is just .... *yawns* ..... super uninteresting! Acting is bad too and so is the chemistry between main leads.

Don't know what to say...It's just ....mediocre? 5.5/10

Identity Crisis - A Mix of Comedy, Romantic Comedy and Melodrama

I started “No Regrets in Life” without much expectation and really am not sure what I’m getting myself into. I thought it would be a mature, romantic melodrama about second-chance romance. Well, let’s just say I am not sure ‘mature’ is the adjective I would use to describe the characters here.

Taiwanese humor is something I am still trying to get used to. So when the first few episodes bombarded me with people acting crazy, shouting over each other, and forcing two former college friends who lost touch and wanting them to be together, I questioned if I made a mistake in starting this drama. Luckily, I persisted and by episode 4, the story continues to unfold and it’s more than forcing people to do what they don’t want to do.

However, personally, only the male lead is a character that I find somewhat likable and can root for. This is my first drama of Liu Guan Ting, so I am not sure if he’s always somewhat awkward, or if he's doing an excellent job playing the role of Wang Yan. I enjoy how he plays this introverted and socially awkward character, who could easily be a pushover. After his ‘mistake’ 8 years ago, he has learned to be more decisive. His work life is fine, but his love and family lives are pitiful.

Every other character has their annoying elements, even female lead Nin You Zhu. I actually don’t think she deserves the male lead. I am having a hard time seeing things through her eyes, especially with the argument with the male lead 8 years ago. Would I be upset like her, probably. But holding a grudge like that for 8 years is a little much.

The supporting cast is made of the rest of the 7 college friends and together, they call themselves the 9 Suns. They are a loud bunch and are super nosy. They can’t help butting into everyone’s business, especially the love life between the leads. Plotwise, yes, we do need the 9 Suns to nudge the leads a little to get back together but they do more than nudging. Just because you regretted a stupid decision you made in college, doesn’t give you the right to force people to do things they don’t want to, especially causing such a big ruckus. This is one of the rare dramas with a strong focus on friendship where I don’t want these friends in my life. These friends like to emotionally blackmail others.

Wang Yan’s wife is an interesting character. Gosh, I hated her and found her super annoying at first. And then I just pity her. Aggie Hsieh’s acting is hard to watch in a good way? On the other hand, Ning You Zhu’s boyfriend is a boring character. Maybe I just don’t like JC Lin’s acting. They have no chemistry at all and I guess that’s the point.

Somewhat spoilery here - this drama is full of emotional cheating. The three couples (hexagon relationship) portrayed here are a mess. At least one person in a relationship is not faithful to their partner. They might not outright kiss, hug, or sleep with someone, but it’s obvious that they are in love with someone else.

I am not sure I can recommend this drama. If you are a fan of the Taiwanese style, you might like it more than I do. I feel like “No Regrets in Life” has an identity crisis. I wish it is either a melodrama, a comedy or a romantic comedy, but not a mix of all three. However, at least I love the songs here and I applaud some characters' ability to speak their lines really fast and able to hold back their laughs.

This is How Chinese Modern Dramas Should be Made! Amazing Chemistry from Esther Yu and Ding Yu Xi

I regret that I just know about this drama now. If only I had watched it while it was airing, I would have jumped on the same fun boat with the other watchers of this drama on MyDramaList sooner.
In short, I really adore this drama to pieces. These are the reasons:
- The Story
The story is pretty simple, but it doesn’t mean that the story can not keep you entertained for the whole 36 episodes. The premise of the story is about Chu Li, a fresh graduate from Finance Major but decides to pursue her passion in editing. She applies a job as an editor in a publishing company. Though initially she is rejected because she doesn’t have any background in editing field, but because of her deep knowledge in novels and authors, she’s accepted. In order to pass the probation period, she has to make Zhou Chuan, a best-selling author who is known as not only handsome, but a gentleman, to sign his upcoming book with her publishing company. Unbeknownst to her, Zhou Chuan is also her online friend who has been chatting with her for quite a long time. She finally can persuade Zhou Chuan to sign with her publishing company and she becomes his editor. After living under the same roof, they become closer and closer and then voila, they fall in love with each other. It’s a slow burn romance for sure, but each episode provides you the progress of their relationship bit by bit. From strangers to editor-author relationship to friends to lovers. Ding Yu Xi and Esther's chemistry is great in showing the dynamic of their relationship from the beginning. Thank God that this drama does not provide any cringey and cheesy scenes unlike other usual Chinese dramas which sometimes tend to be over-exaggerated in a way that makes me stop watching them.
- The Acting
Moonlight is the 1st collaboration between Esther Yu and Ding Yu Xi (luckily, we’ll be having them hopefully next year with their new drama, Yong Ye Xing He). I already knew about Esther since I loved Love Between Fairy and Devil and I must say she's a good actress. As for Ding Yu Xi, I was attracted by his acting in Love You 7 Times. Many people feel bothered by Esther’s high-pitched voice. But, I’m not that bothered because at least, she can act. When she’s needed to act seriously, she definitely can act those scenes without any exaggerations. Though I have to admit Ding Yu Xi is better in terms of showing various micro-expressions. He’s a really good actor who can act in love very convincingly and act in funny scenes without fail. Most of the main actors here can deliver funny lines very well and sound very natural. Be it Esther Yu, Ding Yu Xi, and the actor who plays the role Jiang Yu Cheng. So, as for me, not cringey though not all the funny scenes and dialogues can make me laugh. However, I do find their dialogues to be witty. I really like witty banters. In serious and emotional scenes, I find Ding Yu Xi is the best among them. His eyes can emote very well. Esther Yu is best in scenes which require her to show her earnest side.
- The Music
Unfortunately, the OSTs are not memorable. At least, they’re all well-matched with the scenes.
- Rewatch Value
I will watch my favorite scenes on IQiyi Youtube Channel. It provides all the highlights from Moonlight.
To sum up, Moonlight is my current favorite Chinese Drama.

A cliché story that could have been made 20 years ago

It's very cliché. ALL the tired old tropes of k-drama and c-drama mashed together.
- Clumsy female lead who makes a fool of herself. She tells lies or pretends to be something and is exposed; she drinks too much and makes a disgraceful scene; she misunderstands and jumps to conclusions; she adopts a whiny voice and childish demeanour/behaviour to be cute and obtain what she wants; her wardrobe a sorry mess of clownish clothes much too big for her; . CHECK
- Aloof and seemingly cold male lead with childhood trauma. CHECK
- Male and female lead who start off badly but become next-door neighbours by chance and, also by chance, have to work together. CHECK
- drunk scene of the female who vomits all over the main lead, and this is portrayed as funny and cute and doesn't impact at all the ML's opinion of her or his crush on her - on the contrary, it serves to bring them together. CHECK
- Jerk ex-boyfriend who comes again to claim FL. CHECK
- Group of friends with a dream of making a successful online game company but struggle at first until finding success. CHECK
- Second lead couple is the funny one, their romance is the comic relief. CHECK
- The group of friends is made of stock characters: the quiet girl, the fashion-conscious girl, the very shy guy, the fat guy. And there is also a non-descript guy (the programmer). They all have no character ark, their characteristics are shown in all scenes, and each one has only characteristic defining him or her. CHECK.

The male lead is promising, for a newcomer to acting: he's not embarrassing, but surely he's inexperienced and it shows, especially in the beginning of the show. I must say though that his interpretation, while it won't certainly blow you away, gets better and better as the episodes go on, and by the end of the show he shows great improvement, to the point that you wouldn't think he's a newbie. I think he has potential, and a lovely voice too.
And don't tell me that in the beginning he's so wooden because he plays an introvert. It's a misunderstanding that playing an aloof and introvert character doesn't require acting. It's actually a trap for rookie actors, and they fall into it head first. Acting is not about big dramatic gestures, laughing and crying etc. Even when playing a "mysterious and cold" character, one has to show the little details that the other characters in the show might not catch but the audience will notice, to convey what is behind the aloofness. Aloof people are good at conceiling their true feelings, so it's actually MORE difficult to act those characters, because it's all about subtlety.
The female lead is okay but nothing to write home about. She is exactly like all the other Chinese actresses out there, and not in the league of the outstanding ones. Of course her character is also like all the other Chinese female leads. Although she's supposed to be a "driven entrepreneur", and she's shown as very competent at her job, she still does things like banging her legs on the bed and squealing in delight, and in her personal life she's totally childlike and immature.
This show might have been made ten years ago and - apart from the fashion and the technology shown - you wouldn't know it. It's lighthearted and sweet, you don't hate it, but it's like a zillion others we've already seen, it brings nothing fresh. I would change the title to "Sweet Dreams", because I used it to relax before sleep, and it worked like magic, taking the stress of the day away. But this doesn't mean it's a good drama, does it?
The OST was good, the clothing department really, really sucked. I couldn't believe how they dressed the characters! And... do really Chinese people go to meetings with prospective business partners dressed in beachwear, overlarge shirts or T-shirts over shorts?)
If you haven't watched more than ten or twenty Chinese or Korean dramas in your life, you might enjoy this more.
