Overall entertaining

Good points: I enjoyed each cast performance, it was action packed without any dull/ boring moment, drama managed to deliver multiple genres action, thriller, melodrama, romance while bringing up heavy society issues in just 8 eps.
Bad points: Drama was too gory for my taste in some scenes and i`m fed up with cliche psycho chaebol villain. I saw some comments of some people having issues with ending message, but i`m just taking whole drama at face value. It`s fictional story about one character and his journey. Viewers shouldn`t expect drama to be realistic or solve society issues

IMPORTANCE OF LIFE AND SELF VALUE amazing portrayal

Death game is not for the weak, it showed me a very different side of the human species that we do not see portrayed in everyday dramas and movies. It has shown how important our life and memories as well as experiences are equally important and how we take for granted our time with our loved ones and everyone around us.

Storyline:
The story line was much deeper than i had expected starting this show without reading any kind of description beforehand, it shows the true meaning of life and death and how we often live life assuming well wake up the next day, Our struggles do not define us and life will never be lived out in a straight line we have to let time and our own actions heal our struggles and difficulties in order to reach the light. That suicide is not harmful to ourselves in a physical way, it was the family members, loved ones, humans around the deceased that were harmed and battling with loneliness and guilt throughout their lives during the aftermath. THEY are the true victims of the crime. Seeking light may not be easy and there are many lessons to be learned in life but as long as we let our bodies and soul continue on this green earth we have to believe and have hope that we WILL end up ok.

Actors:
The cast truly astonished me with the performance of every character, they understood the brief, the story, theme and timeline were very well shown throughout the drama.

Ending/MY THOUGHTS:
Notice how "Death" Gave Choi Yi Jae a second chance at life after he had realized how wronged and ashamed he was to commit and leave his loved ones and life behind, This shows that even in the FACE and "punishment" of "Death" God shows him light and he then gets to truly understand beautiful life is and how much it means to him after trial and error. It was beautifully played out. After living through different bodies of life and going through their experiences he then realized how he himself as a person needs to live on, living as another being even if that meant his own mother, he was not able to truly live as himself. Just as Ji Soo says earlier says in the series, You are not fully living if your not living as your true self. This really, it also makes me think of how hard we human beings try to be happy we can never truly feel full when pretending were ok, we have to genuinely be ok to feel ok. We will never know what will happen in our lives so we must keep riding along if we want to find out. No matter what obstacles we come across we must stay strong with our bodies, with our loved ones anf take pride and be grateful for the light the lord has shown us so far whether that be in the form of health, in the form of accomplishments or in the form of ability and capabilities of our own bodies the lord has made for us. Seeking darkness and being afraid of failure is tiring and will come to haunt us. Self sabotage WILL sabotage us if we LET OURSELVES BELIEVE IT, IF WE LET OURSELVES LIVE IT.

REWATCH VALUE
the only reason i put this point at a 1 star is only because it is a lot to take in and can be hard to process more than once.

CONCLSUIONS
Don't show yourselves only darkness, try to seek light in the face of darkness,
Allows yourselves to feel
To feel free
To feel stressed
To feel happy
To feel loved
To feel brave
To feel relieved
This is what it means to live.
Be there for yourself and for your loved ones
Learn what life is all about and how you want yours to look like.
Don't get caught up in the act of trying to find reasons why you don't deserve to be happy.
Don't get caught up in seeking A THING, you will simply not find it.

Live life with your own PURPOSE
Don't live life looking for one.

You are enough.
You are ALIVE

Funny and Cute

I heard this drama was filmed over six years ago. So I know the story is old, the fashion is old. But to my surprise, the acting is delightful because the actor and actress are so cute, and the story is funny. To kill some time and feel amused, this is a good show. Please don't be too serious about it.
I am also happy to see Chinese and Korean actors and actresses collaborate in the drama. It must not be easy to act when you don't understand your partner's language. I wonder how these actors and actresses react to their drama six years later. Will they feel funny and awkward to watch themselves acting six years ago? Anyway, I like drama, especially the main characters, who are all handsome and beautiful. It helps me destress.

Great start but hated the ending

Spoiler Alert!

Really enjoyed the start, liked the sister relationship, got invest in FL’s relationship with WJG, she was so invested in then she ends up sacrificing WJG, giving him to her ssiter, and falling for the General (nothing against his character who was the only one who stayed true to character) and sister ended up with WJG. Argghhh! And because of how they paired up so rushed at the end, the relationships ended up feeling forced. Was so angry with the ending. Sister relationship at the end was disappointing too, it got tiresome with FL constantly helping the sister and felt as if they both betrayed each other’s feelings and couldn’t face each other at the end. Sister stayed with WJG. SML changed his mind but he didn’t seem totally happy. The relationships felt so forced and their love so wish washy with no loyalty at all. It wasn’t a happy ending. So disappointed and angry I wasted my time on it.

Prepare those tissues!

This review covers both parts of The Blue Whisper.

The show, in many sites are shown as 1 with a total of 42 episodes but it's separated into 2 parts, first part is 22 episodes and Part 2 is 20 episodes. The entire series is a recommendation, if you love fairies, immortals, mythical beasts etc. The story line is nice and amazing, alot of teary parts - hence the reminder to prepare your tissues. Throughout the whole series, both Part 1 and 2, there are alot of emotional moments that somehow feels like it could just rip you apart. There are also many funny moments to be found but alot of sad and betrayal moments.

The casts did a splendid job on this series, both the Male and Female Lead are superb. They really did a great job portraying their characters, especially the merman. The innocence along with all the other mix emotions from happiness, sadness, betrayal etc has been portrayed remarkably by Ren Jia Lun (Male lead). Dilraba also did a remarkable job - at times, you don´t even know if she really meant what she said or was it just a plot to get things done.

The soundtrack for both parts are quite nice. Although the beginning song for Part 2, in my opinion, was just too shrilly. I love the song that Ren Jia Lun sang - The merman song - but unfortunately couldn't really find that song with him singing it instead of the original singer.

I would recommend to watch, if you like the synopsis after reading it. Rewatching wise, well, that would really depend on individual opinions. But I have watched it more than twice already. xD

The sum of our parts.

Death's Game is an interesting narrative on being left alone in the world, including the worlds we make for ourselves, whether purposefully or through a vast turn of events that stack up one after the other.

I had a lot of complicated feelings finishing the second part of this series.

It all started with Choi Yee Jae and his difficulties in life - a death on a day that he was supposed to be opening up a world of opportunities, isolation, struggling through jobs, being looked down on, and alienation. After a clinching decision, we then follow him on a journey of others who feel the same, and how he comes to terms with what he thought was true.

Something I really liked about Death's Game was that it really showed how being depressed made one forget all the good moments that led up to the darkness. How difficult it is to realize that the people around you are precious and don't find you a burden, and how, in those darkest moments, all you have left is yourself in a pit of despair that you were given with no choice in the matter.

The acting, build-up, cinematography, and overall storyline was amazing. I enjoyed it down to its grisly, bare bones. The star studded cast didn't disappoint, and they pulled out all the stops to it, which resulted in an absolute masterpiece of a drama.

So here's the clinching reason why I had complicated feelings towards this, and why I'm unlikely to come back to this despite how well it's pulled off. The subject of death, despair, depression, and understanding of love is prominent here, and I was absolutely enthralled by the relationships and portrayal of them. But since the series starts out addressing suicide, and then how it continues to tackle it in a rather outside looking in way, I'm not sure I was a fan of the message it subtly gave. If you watch this and deal with depression or have those near you that struggle with suicidal thoughts, I would go in prepared with several tablespoons of salt.

Other than this though, it was an enjoyable series, and even when I was annoyed, I was never bored of the storyline. It progresses quickly, nails all the underlying plot points, joins together beautifully, and really gives you some insight into those that deal with depression. All in all, I would say give it a go and form your own impression of it, but do so knowing this series is not in any way a light watch.

A Ballad Like no Other

I watched this drama 2 years ago and was a tad bit disappointed because I keep comparing it to the manhua and of course the manhua was much better. Due to the tweaks and changes that the show writers did, I was very prejudice against the show when watching it then. Now with a new perspective and after rewatching the drama without judgement, I found that the drama was very enjoyable. The story follow our main lead Li Changge (Dilraba), a head strong princess who's on a quest of revenge. Along the way she met Ashile Sun ( Leo Wu) and many others who showed her friendship, loyalty, and love.
The drama gave us a solid introduction, great characters, and story building. I appreciate that the show writers made our female characters strong in their own way. Changge is not your typical princess. She's strong willed, smart, and loyal. Opposite her is our typical princess, Leyan (Zhao Lusi). She's cute, soft spoken, and caring. At first I thought she would be a useless princess, but as the story progressed, she became one of my favorite "weak princess" character. And who have thought that our main villain was also a woman, Princess Yicheung. She's a mix of cunningness, switching between a weak forgotten princess and a tactful Khatun. Our male characters were also a delight to watch. The romance is there, but you won't be seeing any fan service of kisses from our leads. I particularly liked watching the interactions between our second couple in the drama, Liyuan and Hao Du (Liu Yuning).
My only complaint about this drama was the cartoon portion of it. It should have been left out or portrayed live. I was glad they didn't use it too much throughout the drama.
Overall, this drama is a great watch. Would I watch it again? Of course! (I already did and would not miss it for a third time.)

You can never go wrong on a 60 episode with Ma Si Chun

Same as others I was quite hesitant to watch this and have been on my watchlist for some time, the reason is it is 60 episodes. At last, I was able to watch it before 2023 ended and all I could say is that it was one of the best series I have binge-watched for the year. I gave it a 9/10 because it could have been so perfect from episodes 1- 20 however after came the war plot and the side characters which made the story lengthy but predictable. I for one am a sucker for romance and plot twists, however, the war twists of the story are predictable. I could have moved some episodes because of the war plot it's just that at each episode the FL and ML show a little screentime and it was soooo good and sweet! and I ended up watching all episodes because I didn't want to miss their screen time.
Ma Si Chun and Peter Sheng have an absolute chemistry! just the kiss smacks, the eye connection, their foolish air kissing and hugging each other is enough to sizzle. Until now I still think about how Ma Si Chun got the general role, she has a sweet face but she conquered the role! I liked that she wasn't portraying a manly man, she was a general but she has a soft and sweet side whenever she is with the ML. Peter Sheng on the other hand complemented the sweet side of Ma Si Chun. He is hilarious and at some point, it seems Ma Si Chun would smile because she finds it funny.

I have finished the series but I am watching it again however from episodes 1 - 20 only when the cousin arrived did it spoil the fun!

The Abyss based on Chinese interpretation

As the synopsis mentioned. This is a story/journey that follows Chu SiJing to find his brother Chu SiYu who was lost to a weird happening in an island.

It’s a Chinese Sci-Fi story set in the Ming dynasty, and the war was just a forgettable backdrop with no further mentioning.
I started watching because the premise was interesting, the plot of the first few episodes have a good pace and kept me curious. So the story follows Chu SiJing to investigate the mysterious secret of the island link to his missing brothers. Many elements brought up were interestingly and can have good potential for further development if given more thoughts. E.g. monsters among human, cult group, magical powers, traditional ancient Chinese mystical creature, underlying political agenda to uncover or hide the secret, etc. Initially it gave me vibes of Kdrama, Kingdom, or the Game of throne, then came Alien under the sea.
However the final reveal was IMO anti-climatic and with an ending of a heroic sacrifice.
The ML throughout the story was in high tension state, was wondering when his blood pressure will pop. There were some interesting side characters that I felt if given more time, can have great potential to develop deeper, such as the Eunuch Yang’s agenda, the soldier Bo Yan, the sea girl Angelica, Shen Rang, Captain Xu, even the Head of JingYi Wei / special forces.
But I guess for a short drama series, it is a good attempt and straight to the point story telling, there are some good fight scenes, and genuine friendships/ kinships theme.

If you like a quick Sci-Fi drama, this is a good watch., will not recommend a re-watch.

Ugh!

This show is not that great. I do like the Van and Mi-Ho characters but the Johan character is annoying AF. I get that he's supposed to be the cool, hip, young, unorthodox priest but his antics are annoying and childish for a person in his position. His charcater did show some grace in the last episode though. This was 6 episodes that barely made any sense and the CGI is terrrible to boot! I did like the tree monster scenes though, that was actually really well done.

I hate that they split this series into 2 parts b/c it makes no sense. It doesn't even build up to a decent 1st half of a series either. Eveything was disjointed and all we got was some flashbacks, a monster of the week type villian each ep and some so called prophecy that will be the main point of the rest of the show I guess. I will watch the 2nd half though hopefully it's better!

Can't believe they left me hanging

Really enjoying this, wasn't sure at first but looks like we will need a season 2 for all these unanswered questions. I'm OK without the awkward side stories of the awkward cupid, i would have preferred some other people's side story. Maybe the prince and his scheming family and how he fell for his first love but oh well. Maybe how the 4 became cupid etc. .
Season 2, hurry up. I binged on this all weekend and i was left hanging.

Can I start by saying that the title of the series is so beautiful. It literally depicts the entire theme of the series.

I did not watch Vice Versa so I am totally zero when it comes to anticipating the pairing of JimmySea though I saw Bad Buddy so I am familiar with Jimmy. But the chemistry is definitely more than what I expected. I can't describe into words but it feels like they are really destined. (Edit: I decided to watch Vice Versa and I realized that I should have watched it way before)

The acting is great (It isn't easy to act blind and Sea nailed it), the story is totally beautiful, and cinematography is perfect (how can i expect less from P'Aof?). The story of both main leads made me wish that I would find a love that is as pure, honest, and beautiful as them (where can I find my own Mhok?!).

The visuals are to be expected. hahahaha. like Doc Jimmy?

Totally a must watch. Been a bl fan since 2019 and this is definitely in the top list.

I enjoyed this more than I thought I would, party because of Han Hyo Joo and Park Hyung Sik. They both play likeable and relatable characters whose friendship to lovers story is natural, despite the unnatural setting of the story. I've always enjoyed Han Hyo Joo's dramas. Park Hyung Sik is more hit and miss for me but this one is a hit for me. The drama raises interesting questions about how a government might respond to a frightening and highly contagious epidemic, how infected people are treated not just by the government but also by each other, and what people might do to fight for survival. It can be ugly -- people can behave pretty badly when they're frightened -- but this drama shows that people can also be surprisingly generous and self-sacrificing. I suspect that the inspiration for this drama comes from the first major COVID epidemic before vaccines were developed and the world was terrified.
