A FL who throws water on the ahjhumma

We have had enough of dramas where the FL gets water thrown at by elders in a cafe, in this drama it is the exact opposite lol. Finally we see a strong FL, she answers back, she slaps the villian girl, she aint afraid of shit. ML is CEO, so there is that, he is supportive, altho he tries to be her saviour he realizes she dont need no knight, which is hilarious. The chemistry is there.
I had a feeling - whole series feels like an anime with human added, thin bodied ML like some japanese shouju, round faced beady eyes FL, cause of the pace, expressive acting and effects.
If you are looking for something short without any character getting on your nerves, watch it.

“The moment you give up, it’s game over.” – Ha Yi Chan

I postponed watching this show before it was all the way done. It was so tempting at times because I would see clips of this show on TikTok. I finally got around to watching this drama and it does not disappoint. This show lived up to the hype and many more. Twinkling watermelon might just be in my top ten dramas that I watched in 2023. This show falls into the all the things that I love in korean dramas from the funny wholesome friendships to the cute romantic relationships. It even show the different dynamics between the character and their parents. And to make this even better the music is really good. So shout out to everyone who was apart of making the music for this show. And shout out to the actors who worked so hard to produce such an amazing performance for all of us to watch.

The dynamic between Ha Eun Gyeol and Ha Yi Chan had me laughing, smiling, and crying all throughout this series. Their is just somthing that pulls at my heart strings when a son wants the absolute best for hsi father and vise verse. And with this show eun gyeol is dedicated to making sure that his father dosent suffer from the accident that makews him go deaf. Even when his father say’s meana things to him and even disregard his advice he always comes back to make sure yi chan isnt hurt or in trouble. He really cares about his father and yi chan even comes around to view eun gyeol as a son and is truely grateful for the things that he has done for him.

A couple I really love is Ha Yi Chan and Yoon Cheong Ah there the epitome of what love looks like. Love is a language that need no words it is just something that you feel. So when I see yi chan and cheong ah you can just tell that it is love. From the way yi chan learned sign language so that cheong ah would feel just a littl less alone in the world. Or how he even sang a song using sign language so that cheong could feel include and so she could watch him performe just the two of them. There was also so just such a cute couple that some time it made me want to throw up. But then at the same time I envy their love and that being able to communicate with eachother didnt stop ether of them from falling in love. All of this aside their visual are just amazing like their actors are just so attractive.

Its just something about this show that bring out my love for kdramas. Here are some of my favorite quotes from this show “Here’s a thing about life. It may not give you everything you want. But it does hide a small present for you from time to time. I hope you can endure the cruel hardship life throws your way. So you can receive the present life has tucked away.” – Mr. Viva. another quote is “Everyone just goes on with their lives while giving meaning to their lives or trying to find meaning. They do their best to rationalize their lives.” – Ha Eun Gyeol.“ You connect the world filled with sounds with the world of silence, using your voice and hands. And at times, like you through music.” – Mr. Viva

Story so addicting you can't help binge-watching it in one day!

This review is long overdue. I finished this one almost 2 weeks ago but only now I feel calm enough to sit still writing this review. This drama was not even on my PTW list but I was curious about that rating and all the rave about it so I started this one on whim. Wow by the end of ep 1 I was sold! Hence I binge-watched this in less than a day.

What I liked :-

✅️ Addicting ,angsty and no draggy storyline. The plot remind me of makjang drama I used to watch 10 years back. 12 episodes is just perfect. No filler scenes that will make you abuse your FF button.
✅️ Good acting from all cast. This was my first Jung Yoo Min drama and I enjoyed her acting. Her acting reminds me much of the actress Lee Min Jung. So pretty like her too.
✅️ Contract marriage.
✅️ FL getting revenge on people who did her dirty in satisfying way.
✅️ Main couple who most of the time does communicate with each other.
✅️ Great chemistry between leads.
✅️ Green flag male lead .
✅️ A mother-in-law that is not evil for once. When most of family dramas potrayed an evil MIL , it was refreshing to see this drama broke that trope.
✅️ HEA.
✅️ Pleasant to listen to OSTs. My favourite is Halo by Sohn Yerim.

What I liked the least:-

☑️ Cinematography could have been better.
❌️ ML's wardrobe style. His stylist need to be fired. Some of his clothing were hideous fortunately Sung Hoon's good look made it hurting my eyes less. While all the females in this drama got the best wardrobe why they did not do the same for the males...

Overall, PMR is one of the best K-drama I've watched this year. If you like what I liked, watch it & you might enjoy it like I did.

Unmet Expectations: A Disappointing Experience with "Moving"

Pros:
-FTX and Makeup Quality: The series does shine in terms of FTX and makeup, showcasing a commendable level of technical skill.
-Doo Sik and Mi Hyun's Love Story: The slow-burn love story between Doo Sik and Mi Hyun provides a redeeming element, offering a genuinely enjoyable aspect within the overall narrative.
-Ryu Seung-ryong's acting: He just doesn't fail at delivering his role, truly a versatile actor.

Cons:
-Overrated and Overhyped: Despite high ratings, "Moving" falls short of the hype, leaving viewers with unmet expectations.
-Not Action-Oriented: Contrary to expectations, the series leans more towards romance than action, potentially disappointing fans seeking an adrenaline-fueled experience.
-Cringeworthy Script and Lack of Depth: The script is criticized for being cringeworthy and lacking depth, preventing the narrative from achieving a meaningful impact. The fact that they overused "Who are you?", "Do you want to die?", "Bastards" and things that don't even need to be said make it so hard to watch.
-Excessive Side Characters: The presence of numerous side characters with insignificant stories adds unnecessary complexity, diluting the main plot and contributing to a disjointed narrative.
-Absence of Main Plot Line: The series suffers from a lack of a clear main plot line, resulting in a narrative that feels scattered and disorganized.
-Villains: Black-and-White and Boring: The one-dimensional portrayal of villains with a lack of depth and development adds to the overall disappointment.
-Wasted Talents: Despite a cast of great actors, including Ryu Seung-ryong, Park Hee-soon, Jo Insung, Cha Tae-hyun, and Han Hyo-joo, the series fails to leverage their talents effectively.

"Moving" may have some technical merits and a redeeming love story, but the overwhelming issues, including a lack of villain's motives and main plot line, cringeworthy script, and wasted talent, make it difficult to recommend, especially for fans expecting an engaging action and crime series.

Series is much more focus on romance

This series is like 65% romance, so if your someone who likes romance very much this is for you. However if your into romance but at the same time cares about the world-building or plot wise, then you might not like this series much.

The plot is good, however the execution is meh.. I feel like they tried to do a "the long ballad" way for this series, wherein they would also focus on the second couple, though this didn't work for me and instead of getting hooked into second cp it just made me annoyed.

The acting was good, as expected of zhao lusi. The guy who played the ml was also good. Lusi's chemistry with the guy is good. The second couple also did some good acting however the chemistry not so much.

I put the rewatch value on 5.5 simply because i feel like this show is something i could only watch the first time and honestly if i want to watch this, i would just simply watch HDL.

Definetly something different

I liked this one, I think the drama and story were overall very unique. I liked that the aliens didn't look fake at all in my opinion, in other words, the sci-fi was on point. the ending in other words was very disappointing and when I watched the second part it made it worse because it's so confusing. I'd still give it a 10/10 because overall everything stood out to me. I think the first episodes in the second part were so cool, and every character had a huge development. if you are looking to watch something different I recommend this. This was even different than All of us are dead. Which is one of my top dramas, it was different. I can only hope for a third reason to make it make sense in my head. Honestly, I suggest you stop watching after ep 6, although the beginning of the second part its super cool, and you can see all of them coming together and helping each other. I read lots of comments saying the it shows the typical other drama's story but it was different for me given the situations they were in. I recommend dit though, its different and not boring at all.

Were you "Team Jacob"?

I wasn't, so it took be 5 episodes to come to terms with the premise alone, but I powered through in the name of torturing my group chat pals.

Once I was like, "Well I ignored Bella and Jacob, I can ignore this!" they threw in a hamster girl. I wish I was joking.

Silliness aside, I haven't read the full manga, but I did watch the anime mini series. The anime was adorable and I felt that it better explained Meow's back story than this show did. Once I got over the whole cat shifter romance aspect, I realized that wasn't what was primarily bothering me. What bothers me is Meow's extremely child-like mind, personality, and behavior. I think this show definitely confused cat-like and child-like which made this super weird at times.

Again, I didn't read the full manga so I'm not sure if he was also child-like in the og story. I am glad they aged him up in this adaptation though because he was 16 in the anime. He fit the cat stereotype in the anime and it's explained that he suffered an injury that made him unable to control his shifting between human and cat, so depending on his mood he would change (like when playing). It was funny and cute in the anime, but this live adaptation thought having an adult man play with cat toys in the floor was a better move. ?

Overall I can't lie, I did enjoy watching this. I had a lot of critiques throughout, like that intro song is PUTRID, but I may actually rewatch this one day.

I didn't care for the side couples. But like the anime, this is more of a one sided, perhaps read between the lines BL, rather than an outright romance. I perceive this more of an open ending with future potential rather than everyone was "just friends". I believe the author is on hiatus and may not have finished this story (don't quote me, it was hard for me to track down what little bit of the manga I did read), so I think the ending aligns with the original source material.

I'd recommend it if you're looking for something super different, low angst, and dare I say... cute. ?

Realistic and Refreshing: A Break from the Usual C-dramas

Pros:
-Realism Over Cringe: Unlike many C-dramas, this series stands out for its realism, a refreshing departure from the usual cringe-worthy moments.
-Escape from Kdrama Tropes: For viewers tired of typical Kdrama romance, this series offers a welcome change, providing a unique storyline and character dynamics.
-Chemistry Between Leads: The chemistry between the main characters is exceptionally good, making it feel like you're watching a genuine couple evolve from their college days into adulthood.
-Subtle Acting and Expressions: The male lead's subtle acting, particularly through eye expressions, adds depth to the characters, enhancing the overall viewing experience.
-Natural and Smart Female Lead: The female lead's portrayal as a natural, smart, and adorable character is a highlight. The absence of exaggerated attempts at cuteness is a refreshing departure from typical character portrayals.

Cons:
-Prolonged Friend Talks: One downside of the series is its tendency to linger on friend-related conversations, which may make the pacing feel slower than necessary.
-Ideal Episode Count: The storyline could have been more effectively conveyed in a shorter format, perhaps condensed to 25 episodes. This would have maintained a tighter narrative without unnecessary stretches.

This C-drama provides a realistic and engaging storyline, a welcome escape from the clichés of both C-dramas and Kdramas. The outstanding chemistry between the leads, coupled with subtle and natural acting, makes it a must-watch for those seeking a genuinely enjoyable romantic series.

"Unspoken Desires: 'Kimi ni wa Todokanai' (2023) Touches Hearts, Longing for More Romance."

Kimi ni wa Todokanai explores the delicate and intricate dynamics of friendship, unspoken feelings, and the yearning for a deeper connection. The film delves into the lives of Yamato and Kakeru, childhood best friends whose bond transcends time and shared experiences.

The storyline unfolds with a poignant exploration of the classic dynamic—the cool, smart individual excelling in almost every aspect, juxtaposed with the seemingly average, dorky friend who grapples with feelings of inadequacy. Yamato and Kakeru, though inseparable, find themselves trapped in a paradox where proximity doesn't necessarily translate into intimacy.

The emotional depth of the characters is brought to life through nuanced performances, capturing the essence of unspoken desires and the struggle to bridge the gap between friendship and something more. The screenplay tastefully navigates the complexities of their relationship, creating a palpable tension that resonates with audiences.

Adapted from the manga series by Mika, the film maintains a faithful representation of the source material. The storytelling is complemented by well-executed cinematography that enhances the emotional beats of the narrative. The pacing allows for a gradual unfolding of the characters' inner worlds, drawing viewers into the unspoken struggles that define their connection.

One notable aspect is the authenticity of the characters, each flawed and relatable in their own right. The audience is invited to empathize with their individual journeys, making the inevitable conflicts and resolutions all the more impactful. The chemistry between the lead characters is palpable, and the film beautifully captures the nuances of their evolving relationship.

While the film successfully delves into the complexities of friendship turning into something more, there's a desire expressed by some viewers for more cute romantic moments. The narrative's emotional depth could be further complemented by additional scenes showcasing the lighter, more tender aspects of Yamato and Kakeru's connection.

In conclusion, Kimi ni wa Todokanai is a heartfelt exploration of friendship, love, and the intricate dance between the two. It strikes a chord with its genuine portrayal of human emotions, leaving the audience with a lingering sense of connection to the characters. For those yearning for a tale that beautifully balances the bittersweet realities of unspoken feelings, this film offers a poignant and memorable experience.

One of the BEST!!

I’m going to try to keep this short so there won’t be any spoilers. This is not an epic drama but it will take you on a roller coaster ride of emotions. This also took you into the world of the deaf which hasn’t been done very much.

The acting is superb. The two male leads have stolen my heart big time. Ryeoun and Choi Hyun Wook are just fantastic.

Ryeoun has the most expressive face and acted out every emotion flawlessly. I read that he even learned to play the guitar for this role.

Choi Hyun Wook was great in the heavier drama Weak Hero Class 1 but I think comedy suits him better. He had me laughing so hard at just his silly interactions with his grandmother.

Seol In Ah won me over in Business Proposal and she played her part perfectly.

Shin Eun Soo is a new actress to me but she is beautiful and talented.

No details about the plot. Let’s just say I laughed and cried (happy and sad) several times. I was so caught up in the story and was on the edge of my seat. This was just one of the best!

The Past Outshines What Should've Been An Intriguing Present

There seemed to be a crisis every episode with this series, especially during the present day. The historical storyline from 1500 years earlier was way more interesting than the present day story. The present day had promise until the ML became possessed, then he spent most of the series walking around with an "evil" look on his face, brooding about why he was delaying in completing his mission in killing the FL. That got old fast.

The leads had nice romantic chemistry in the historical storyline. Perhaps due to the kind of star-crossed lovers aura and thus angst that embodied their love. Strangely the present day version of them lacked the same emotion and connection.

I found myself mostly fast forwarding through the present day storyline because it just wasn't that interesting, so that I could continue the story from the past. But once the story from the past finished, circling back to where it left off in the first episode I just couldn't garner the interest to keep watching. So I stopped.

If this was only a historical drama I think it could've been really good. Would I rewatch what I did watch? No.

Too much lakorn's flaws, only Donut shine in this series :)

Revenge lakorn: the ML, son of a jewelry CEO, returns to take his revenge in his father's company. The father abandoned his wife and son 10 years earlier, for the benefit of his mistress. They both subsequently adopted a daughter (FL), who became the heiress to the group.

PROS:
+ a very good ML, Donut, mysterious and charming. Donut brings to life, a complex, tortured character, and he does it with great talent. He carries the whole series on his shoulders!!

CONS
- I don't question the talent of Prapye the actress, but I hate the FL's character, weak, gullible, who is bullied by everyone without reacting (only knows how to cry) => very very annoying. She was supposed to lead a big company??? She obviously doesn't have the skills!! Almost untill the end, she is stupid, blindly trusts the wrong people, and is cruel to the ML she supposedly loves. ((╬ಠิ﹏ಠิ))
- I don't even like the CL2's characters either: an idiotic and idle doctor (he's not very busy for a doctor who works in a hospital) and the best friend who is also an idiot, but hyper aggressive. Each of them has a crush on someone who doesn't like them, but they stubbornly persist anyway.

USUAL LAKORN'S FLAWS
- Overdramatic tone with long pauses on gazes.
- Permanent music at full volume
- This series gives the impression that Thai men are roosters, ready to fight for anything and everything :(, also ready to take advantage of any woman within reach (that doesn't make you want to go to Thailand :( However, many of the fight scenes are ridiculous (bad blows, lots of screaming, women watching helplessly,...).
- Too many supporting characters are caricatural: the ridiculous Marketing Team, which respects no hierarchy, does more gossip than work, etc. / The villain's lover, always plotting, with sly expressions / the father's mistress-second wife, ambiguous, who doesn't know what she wants except money, aggressive, stupid, who doesn't even pretend, ...

=> To see only for Donut, remarkable!
****************************************************************************************************

Story is trash, acting average. Idea was nice, but wasted potential

Dear Mr Recluse -8/10 cdrama

I would say its lover tier for average dramas. actors aint bad, but plot of story is dumb and not really catchy.
Shortly exist alot dumb romcom story dramas. Which are better.

Female lead is for first eps just some kinda clingy girl. And you trully dont know if she is interested in ML or doing all that just for job. Most of nice scenes at start of drama feels weird cause of it.

plot - FL is food blogger which loses job opportunity thanks betrayal of her business partner. She managed obtain new opportunity from MLs dad, but she needs accomplish quest he gives her. quest target is FL have to convince his son[ML] to return from his meditation retreat and take over family business. FL decides to try honey trap.

genre - romance
