Nothing special about the plot, and Zhai Zi Lu did an exceptional job with his character.

"We Go Fast on Trust" is another Rom-Com about a smart female engineer and a professional grand pix driver.

I am watching this drama because it is short, and I like the ML, Zhai Zi Lu. He is a good actor who can act well. I like him a lot, especially in My Calorie Boy. He has acting talents and has great potential. I know little about the FL, Ke Jia Yang, except in Copycat Killer and this drama.

I have mixed feelings about her character, Shen Xi. I like that she is smart and an engineer with no emotion regarding her love for Chen Mo Bai. One could argue that she has done a good job portraying the character, but I am unique, and I was hoping that she shows some emotion when he expresses his love for her.

There is definitely not much romance between them compared to other RomCom dramas. Kudos to Zhai Zi Lu for acting so great during emotional scenes, especially when he found out that he was the cause of his mother's dad. It was a tear-jerker scene.

Some of the supporting cast do not act well, like James Lee, who played Lin Shao Qian, Ma Yin Yin, who played Chen Mo Fei, and Jojo Chen, who played Zhao Ying Ning.

I enjoyed the drama, and Zhai Zi Lu did well leading the ensemble, and kudos for his acting ability. I gave it a 7.5 rating because I didn't like the ending.

One of the best kdramas of 2023

I am honestly left empty after finishing this series, especially after following it since it started airing.

I’ve become a hyunwook fan since weak hero class and started following his work ever since and was so excited when i saw this promoted.

Especially since i saw that this show would be time travel!!! I LOVED IT!!!

The way the plot moved and how well everything was flowing, the friendships the tropes literally everything!!

I cried so much at how well the actors conveyed their emotions and also, i am just so happy to see deaf people and sign language representation. The fact that the actors learned it is so special, it made me want to learn it myself.

Such a beautiful show, it’s a show you just have to watch really…

Endless Intrigue and Cunningness

I am writing this review during the dramas half point and I must say it started low, but it has certainly increased in value to a drama I will endlessly recommend! If you’re struggling with the first few episodes just pull through it will likely go down depending on the end as one of my favorites of the year! This drama really has a perfectly fitting name so if you want a drama where both Zhang Linghe and Bai Lu play characters slightly different than the usual roles they play, both showcasing how talented they are. Also the entire casting did a spendid job in my opinion playing their respective roles. As of episode 20 this drama is definitely meeting all my expectations that I have been patiently waiting for since April when I longingly awaited its release only for it to be held back at the last minute. I will update this at the end when I have completed it to let you all know if it held up until the end!

Predictable RomCom with good acting from Elaine Zhong (FL).

"The Furthest Distance" is a rom-com between a designer and a doctor.

Elaine Zhong has had a good year with three decent modern dramas.
- Imperfect Victim, where she played a supporting role.
- The Furthest Distance
- Rising with the Wind
She is a good actress who can play silly yet career-oriented women. She has range as an actress, and her onscreen chemistry is not bad with Leon Zhang. In my opinion, she is a better actor than Leon Zhang. The character he played in this drama is a bit weak but nice.

Their relationship is being sabotaged by her ex-boyfriend, played by Zhang Tao, and his deceased girlfriend's twin sister, Mi Su, played by Sabrina Chen. The supporting cast is cute and funny, especially her best friend Du Hui Xuan, played by Li Xi Rui, who is clueless about love.

I am giving it a 7.5 rating because the plot is nothing special, but the acting is good, only from Elaine Zhong, whereas the rest of the cast was mediocre, including the ML, Leon Zhang. The drama is predictable, and the ending is okay. I would expect them to get married, but it didn't happen. It is implied.

Disappointing Tale with a Good Concept

**Brief Synopsis**
B (Student): Zo
T (Student): Joke

- Beginning: B is in love with a girl and would like to know her better. However, he doesn’t know where to start so he decide to ask T, the girl’s ex, to help him with wooing her. T agrees in exchange for help getting in to the debate club but it was obvious from the beginning he was only interested in B and not debating. To teach B how to date, T brings B on a date, help him dress better and generally be true to himself. During his date, B’s heart started racing, but he doesn’t know what to think of it. He still goes on a date with the girl who finally notices him, but for some reason, when he finally got to sit down with her, he finds the experience lacking and his heart stayed silent. He retells the experience to T who assures him that it was fine. But when T puts an arm around him, B’s heart started to pound again.

- Middle: B and T spends more time together, thanks to T’s efforts. They go on trips and they get to know each other better. B still treats T as a friend which T takes advantage of to get closer to him. Finally B notices that something is up because T is acting way too intimate with him and starts distancing himself a little. T finally confesses to B and asks him for a chance to woo him. B did not refuse even if he still doesn’t know what he is feeling. He is obviously not comfortable with the PDA but is not repulsed by it. And when T does things such as hug him or spooning him while they sleep, he makes a slight show to refusing and then seems to enjoy the intimacy. After a while, B finally admits that he has feelings for T and kisses him.

- End: But after they have gotten together, B finds T’s chat logs and realizes that everything he thought was fate was actually a lie because T has planned everything out including pretending to help him get the girl. He is hurt that their relationship started with a lie and runs away. T goes to B to apologize and tells him how he had fallen for him in the first place. B is touched and ends up forgiving him. The show ends with them graduating and B telling T that he wants to stay with him forever.

**My Opinion**

WHAT I LIKED ABOUT IT:
- I actually liked the characters despite how underdeveloped they are. That is normal because the focus was entirely on their relationship rather than them as individuals.
- I really liked how the actors looked. They are really good looking and fits well together. I really like how B looked after he had taken off his glasses and started dressing more stylishly.
- I actually like the fact that I could feel the romantic tension between them since the beginning. The actors did an okay job in portraying this state of mind.

WHAT I DIDN’T LIKE ABOUT IT:
- The plot is practically non-existence. The story is cliche and predictable and does not have any memorable moments.
- There were some subplots but the other characters aren’t developed enough for me to care about their stories.
- Acting can get a little awkward at times, especially when strong emotions needs to be displayed. Reactions can get cringey and underwhelming at times. For example, when B admits to his friends that T is trying to woo him, the way they react is way too calm. Or when T meets the guy who was a jerk to B before. Scenes with only the two of them are fine but once there are other people, it feels badly acted.
- Dialogue can get a little awkward as well. It’s moments like this that reminds me this is just a cheesy rom com. There is absolutely no depth to this show and every time they attempt to add depth, it comes off as unfinished and not thought out. For example, there was something about a stalker but it was resolved so fast that it didn’t leave an impression, just felt it was to extend the run time.
- The intimate scenes are pretty tame but I feel that something is just missing. It doesn’t feel as passionate as with other shows.
- The angst lacks the emotional punch because it’s just so cliche and the characters themselves doesn’t look to distressed about it. The angst comes from lying to your partner to get close to them and then them finding out, which is also an overused trope.

**Conclusion**
It was frankly a rather boring watch as I feel nothing happened and there was no reason to cheer the main couple on. It was a good concept but it was badly executed.

Long Live Life ─ with flaws, scars and healing

This was one of the dramas I actually didn't plan to watch until I saw the spoilers of the first episode on Twitter ─ and absolutely liked how the premise was about CODA. I also enjoy watching dramas of a child time travelling and meeting their teen parents so I didn't hesitate to give it a try and I am so glad that I did.

‍Starting from the name, throughout the episodes they made a reference to Frida Kahlo's Sandías / Viva la Vida (Long Live Life). In Mexican folk culture, watermelon is commonly found in representations of the Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) celebration ─ so at first, I thought the story might mostly focus on angsty side of life. However, it was just another connection with how Eungyeol's life changed thanks to music shop owner and how his death affected more than one life. So, it wasn't about sadness or fear of death but mostly about natural path and development. Thus, Sparkling/ Twinkling Watermelon is such a nostalgic name for this drama because it can be interpreted as: Radiant life/youth, sparkling performance, or a sparkling period of time in youth before they became adults. And I really like it when the name actually summarises the storyline.

When it comes to acting, everyone did a great job at portraying their characters. As for characters, I must admit, for me, mostly Ha Yichan and Yoon Cheongah stood out ─ as teens and adults. Their characters were beautifully written and acted. They weren't perfect but they were perfect with their flaws, scars and their healing processes.

The drama also showed beautiful dynamics ─ whether it was friendship or parental relationships.

At the end, just like any other time travel drama, there were unanswered questions, discrepancy and some "what if" scenarios. But overall, it was an enjoyable watch.

You will binge watch it in a day #Guaranteed

It's one of those shows you cannot put down and it satisfies you completely by the end too.

I would definitely be putting this in my top 5 list among my fav including cloy, hometown cha cha cha, 18 again etc.
Now the show is such a great and i mean by far the best genre blend without a single loophole or inconsistency in story.
Everything just finds balance from mystery to comedy , everything is consistent and the direction is next level.
Not your typical rom com kdrama but something uniquely intresting.

The show has not completely ignored logic if you are concerned since it involves time travel but the places where logic is near 0 or very low the show carries that part so beautifully (you just don't care) and anyone would be 100% stupid if they don't like this show for this reason. It is not meant for that, it is not a serious thriller based mystery with sci fi logic.

Ignore the music rating if your into that, i personally am not a huge music guy and it mostly runs on the bg of my brain but they werent bad i would say that.

Nostalgia, music and fluff with a side of cringe...

This could have been a 10 if only I would have loved the male leads character as much as I loved the rest of the characters in this really fun drama.

A drama that has so much good to offer combining nostalgia, with the right to communicate/language, the world sucks (yet again), people with disabilities are human too and being a kid that is different from the rest of the family has it's problem's too... all surrounded by lovely teen spirit, love, music, friendships, and shining, glittery fluff... Just the look on a the young version of them moms face when she sees someone use sign language pretty much had me thinking ok this is it, I love it and it is now my favourite drama...

As I mentioned in the first line this could have been a 10 but then the cringe took over and offered me a few of my pet peeves showed up, I cant really complain about the acting of Ryeoun as Ha Eun Gyeol but his character was mostly fun in the beginning but got on my nerves more and more as the story progressed. His interactions and chemistry with Seol In Ah and
Choi Hyun Wook where however top, top, top. I have been impressed with Choi Hyun Wook for quite a while but this drama made me appreciate him even more as well as completely fall in love with Seol In Ah and Shin Eun Soo.

Definitely a drama I recommend to most, when in need of fluff, fun and more or less predictable twists (some more predictable than others). This drama is an easy binge that offers a little bit of everything and with the exceptions of a few moments of annoying the overall feel to this drama is I want more!

P.s. Rating by episode ep 1-2: 8, 2-14:10, 15-16:7,5 = 9, pretty much follow the male leads character progression and regression... but not only.

Fun but ending is meh

it's cute and short, low budget but racing is not a theme that you see that often.

ending is a let down, i didn't think it was the last episode but here we are

still give it a 8, mainly bc the two main leads are cute, the guy should play in a bigger budget romance drama for sure.

i feel like the range of emotion of the fl were better at the beginning, towards the end it didn't feel genuine

if you into racing and romance this might be for you, just be aware that the last couple episodes drop in quality

PURE FLUFYNESS!!! ~ MY COMFORT DRAMA <333

If you looking for something will thrilling plot or something that has a drama or plot, these drama is NOT it.

BUT, if your looking for something to watch causally, just to laugh, enjoy, and have a good time, then don't look any further!

I don't usally watch these chinese drama, but I have to say these these become into my top tens! GIVE IT A CHANCE, YOU WON'T REGRET IT I PROMISE!!

These drama is a GEM. The romance between then is the cutest I seen; it explores the main characters personality, background, and just how to came together and support each other! Both of the character have depth and FINALLY A FEMALE LEAD THAT KNOWS HOW TO STAND UP FOR THE MALE LEAD!! LIKE YASSS QUEEN!!

The actors did a great job and I become a fan! There acting was so good, it make me think if they are lowkey a couple in real life because how can you be these cute!!!

My favoriate song was "Forever Star" in the drama and it's very catchy! The other songs, I don't remember much of, but they were decent.

Overally, I would go back to it just to watch for comfort and the romance <3 10/10.

One of the best coming-of-age stories I've ever watched.

This show was absolutely fabulous! It evoked emotions spanning the whole range from heartbreak to heartwarming, with plenty of laughs in the middle. All four main characters had compelling and intense emotional journeys, and it was so amazing to see four fantastic growth arcs in a single show.

The acting was great, as was the plot and OST. Really, there was not a second wasted, and I thoroughly enjoyed the journey I was took on. I almost wish it would have kept on going.

Can't recommend enough!

Had You in the First Half, Didn't I?

As a Republican Era Cdrama veteran (my all-time favorite is SPARROW (2016), similar spy and communist themes, but much darker and tragic) and someone who minors in Chinese Language and Ancient/Modern History, I will say that this series is not bad so far.

I'm aware many people don't watch these shows because of "CCP propaganda," but this series is more romantic and nerve-racking than it is preachy. It holds a good level of seriousness and authenticity to the danger of their cause, the oppressiveness of Japanese occupation, as well as how some of the Communist spy cells used to operate, all while showing the chemistry between leads. And nonetheless, whatever your political and ideological stance, the terrors and political turmoil these people lived through at this time were no less real.

The leads are smart but not TOO smart that it makes you roll your eyes. There are mistakes they have to make up for here and there (the letters being snatched, the Hospital Morgue fiasco) that require them to realistically problem solve. I will say, I am a bit surprised by the anxiousness and apprehension to highly rate this drama in the comments and other areas. (ᵕ—ᴗ—) Maybe they are having a buffer to ward of disappointment, or they are fans of the leads (Elvis Han, Guan Xiaotong) and are cringing at the fear of seeing these two actors in a Republican Era drama, or maybe they are still sour at the Mr. and Mrs. Smith claimed remake. In any case, I must honestly say that my expectations were very low, but watching the first 4 episodes made me have to change that mindset.

Now, if this goes down the drain I'll be VERY mad. The side characters and even allies seem to be quite formidable and clever. They should not waste them.
========================================================

Hey. It's me again. I'm v e r y mad.

The once stunning and opportune Female Lead has been relegated numerous times to a damsel in distress, there are plot holes and inconsistencies with the ML ability to stay alive till this point, AND. . . the chemistry is dying... and they are dragging the "ignorant of the other party being on my side" situation. Now their marriage DOES look like a farce.

And before the non-romance people object, I understand your point. I also usually avoid roms in Cdramas, as I'm mostly a thriller, mystery, politics and bromance/sismance(?) watcher, BUT WHEN HAS A MATURE ROMANCE HURT ANYONE? And even when the romance is minimal in the aforementioned drama genres, atleast it's done well. But no, now we have to endure this dry pairing forced down our throat while the Communist espionage suffering persists.

WHY would anyone seek to recreate a Mr. and Mrs. Smith situation, when you have the leads cosplaying marriage and more so playing bother and sister? Well. Their acting is fine, but you know who I blame? The freaking screen director. As a Republican Era espionage story, the worldbuilding is too limited anyway, not to mention the plot is becoming predictable.

Peace out, all others. Maybe you will fare better than I did.
