made it to my top 5 favorite modern cdrama

I’m obsessed with Wei Zhe Ming these days and I love fake dating/marriage trope, so I started this drama. I don’t regret it at all, I loved it. I don’t understand people saying they don’t have chemistry, for me they have amazing chemistry and were literally perfect for each other.

I liked it from beginning to end, no breakup for the main couple and a perfect ending. Made me laugh, giggle and smile a lot :) When a drama makes me tear up from happiness, then it’s one of the good one for me. It was interesting when I finally understood the title of the drama, it was not only about her comic but like he represents « perfect » and she’s « casual » ;)

They added the usual « love triangle trope » with people who have one sided love for the leads, which I usually hate, but it wasn’t that bad in this drama. They didn’t drag it for to many episodes like often happens in drama. Mr. Meng was mature and back down when he realized they both liked each other for real, was happy for them and thought they were perfect for each other. For once, I didn’t really hate the second lead (he annoyed me at first but it became better), he was understanding and his presence made funny scene and got ML jealous to finally sort out his feelings. For the girl who liked ML, I love that he was clear with her and when he didn’t agree to hug her

This ML was the best, a green flag, a great husband and was so good to her even when they were in a fake relationship. I loved it when he was saying he was her husband. One of my favorite ML ever

The main couple have great communication, they don’t let misunderstanding happen or drag. We could also see the development, like their kiss started awkward, then shy and finally more passionate kiss.

I love the grandpa and their relationship with him, I was tearing up in the last ep, glad we didn’t suffer his death (even if we know it’s coming)

The secondary couples weren’t bad either, I was happy for her sister, pregnant and everything. They are a good match too. For her friend, it’s more an open ending, I wish we could have seen them reunite.

I recommend this drama. I think for a modern romance drama and this kind of plot, 24 eps is perfect, not to many dragging plot or episodes like dramas with like 30-40 eps sometimes have.

I feel empty after finishing it this morning, but now it’s time for « Perfect Marriage Revenge » episode 5 ahaha

I cried when I watched the series

As a fan of both actors, I was excited to see the series. However, once the trailer was released, I questioned this excitement. The truth is, I wasn't a big fan of Bedfriends (its predecessor) for two main reasons: the acting and the editing. Today, it is these very aspects that bother me.

I believe the director of this series has significant issues in directing the performances of his main actors. I realized this after analyzing that the character Jade in Bedfriends—despite being peculiar—had a much more focused, stable, and profound personality, which is not present in this continuation.

In Middleman’s Love, we see how the Jade we knew disappeared (not to mention the one from the novel). I know that Yim can act because the Jade he portrayed in Bedfriends was a good character (and the same with Syn in CutiePie). Jade (Bedfriends), Jade (Middleman’s Love), and Syn (Cutie Pie) share the commonality of being strange, awkward, and even a bit weird characters. However, Jade in Middleman’s Love is the only one who doesn't achieve those characteristics because he ends up being absurd, foolish, and almost like a five-year-old child.

On the other hand, Tutor had the easiest job since his character hardly speaks in the series (he does, but every time he does, they overlay him with unbearable music). This is a point I want to make clear. Whoever edits at Domundi (excluding Cutie Pie) doesn't know how to do it. Anyone who knows a bit about shots understands that for a fast-forward or flashback, you shouldn't use the same shots in a row, or the effect won't work (and if you're going to do it, you must know how to do it, or it ends up being a failure). They abuse this in the first episode.

In addition to that, there is a problem with the editing. The music is excessive on many occasions (not to say all), they cling to this resource and don't let go because there is not a single second where you can hear the characters simply talking. The music is always there. This is compounded by the maximalist style of editing, leaving the audience exhausted after a few seconds.

I could go on because they clearly lowered the quality from Bedfriends (the only good point in that series), but honestly, it gives me enormous sorrow to see what Domundi turned the series, its plot, and characters into. The favoritism towards certain actors is evident, and it's clear that their directors have no idea how to make a series work. Outside of shows where their favorites appear, they don't make even the slightest effort.

As advertised unfortunately

If you watched the trailer then you already know what to expect. There’s a lot of cringy and aloof characters especially our main character Jade. Yim always seems to get these types of characters. I don’t know why they have my man Yim yelling the entire show but GOD it can be unbearable *insert crying emoji*. I do wished they dialed down of Jades character a bit but what’s done is done.
As expected the show was not advertised to be something like bed friends, cutie pie or anything of that sorts but instead light and sit com vibe. I love TutorYim and their chemistry*insert heart emoji*.
I do hope one day we’ll get a more mature character for Yim instead of always getting this aloof character they like to give him.
Unfortunately the side couple Tong and Gus are the best in the show and we barely see them interact but also thankfully they have a lil scene together that was scrumptious. I hope to see more of that pair because the chemistry they gave off really held this show together.

Good watch - semi sad ending but happy if you watch the special episode

Ending was sad but there was hope that she will see him again. But there’s a special episode that gives us the happy ending.

You don’t know truly why they are connected so much until episode 26. In their previous life, she was a fox demon that fell in love with him. He was a human (Lingzi) that was going to be sacrificed to the heaven because he was the reincarnated Spirit. She spent time getting him to fall in love with her and thought he never did. Because she loved him so much she didn’t want him to die so she sacrifices herself by flying into the mountain. He couldn’t stopped her on time but got there to catch her as she was falling. As she’s dying in this arms she told him she loved him to death. He’s broken hearted from her death and promises to be a fox in his next life and finds her and will love her to death. He took his own spirit because he loved her too and didn’t want to live anymore now she’s gone.

Plot: The story goes with Zhang Yue (Wang Youshuo) waiting for the heart soul fruit to bloom so he can get to to finish leveling up on his cultivate. However somehow Qi Yuanbao (Rain Lu) got there and the fruit went to her instead. In order for him to get it out of her, she has to fall truly in love him and kiss him so it can transfer into his body. She was infatuated with him but in reality he was the one who fell for her whole heartedly. She does eventually truly falls for him after many sacrifices he does for her. But like all c-dramas, due to misunderstandings they keep missing the opportunities to truly tell each other how they feel for one another. Eventually they do and get together.

Ending: It was sad but kind of gave you a little hope that they will meet again. Again, as he protects her from knowing the truth (she eventually finds out) that the evil spirit inside her cause her to kill almost everyone she loves. She thought it was him, so she hated him and he helped her get revenge by helping her kill him. When she found out the truth, she goes to jump off the cliff because she’s so heart broken. His spirit saves her one more time before becoming the heart soul flower growing on the tree where they first met. She goes looking for the tree and finds it. You can assume that she’s going to wait for him and she hears him calling her.

Special Episode: 30.5 or 31 depending on who post it. I’m glad I read the feed on the drama. It wasn’t on MGTv and I had to look for it. This special episode gave it a happy ending. It was cute.

Verdict: Good watch, good acting (not a lot of pouting trying to look cute), good chemistry between FL and ML as well with secondary couple, funny scene at the right time and OST was decent. I would say that I recommend this.

The secondary couple stole this BL series <3 Bonker but also entertaining drama !

This BL drama is centred around the story of a high school student and a gangster meeting in dire circumstances. I found the scenario really entertaining (especially the first part of the series with the second arc being a bit less good). The script is quite flawed with some bonkers plotlines, more particularly with all the gang stuff being totally crazy and making very little sense.

The lack of logic, the overwhelming and sometimes idiotic decisions are more than compensated by the fun and exciting aspects of the series as well as the sizzling chemistry of the main couple and the secondary one. The scenario is revisiting a lot of dramatic tropes and ressorts: despite some narrative choices that I found odd, I truly enjoyed that it subverted some of them in a very exciting and sometimes unexpected way.

The 4 main characters are very well built and I found myself super invested in the romances (especially in the secondary couple story which is not that frequent for me). The 4 actors are beautiful and their scenes together are ultra pretty, sweet, hot as well as dramatic on some aspects. The main actors really gave it their all and were very convincing (even when the story and the editing was not helping them), the really managed to bring all the feels and the angst on screen. Unfortunately, the antagonists roles are much more lacking (both in acting but foremost in their storylines, it got pretty caricatural).

The soundtrack is very good with some pop as well rock aspects fitting well with the romance in this gangsta universe. I never skipped listening to the opening and ending of the show because it was beautiful... However, I would strongly advise to not look at the generics (and rather just listen to it) to avoid being spoiled on major scenes and events. The show was a bit cringy in terms of production value (the blood make-up, the fighting scenes,...), a lot could have been better and it felt quite cheap.

I would recommend this to people looking for a BL story with sizzling hot chemistry as well as a lot of dramatic elements. If you do not mind bonker plot and low budget production, I would strongly advice to give this a shot. The story of the secondary couple stole the show, even if you decide to not watch this drama, do yourself a favor and go watch some compilation video about the story of Chen Yi and Ai Di <3 !!!!

Unexpectedly Good

Boxing is about the last topic I would have picked to watch, but I noticed the overall favorable comments while this show was running and gave it a shot. It was unexpectedly good. The story was interesting and quite unique, the characters were well developed and I always appreciate a strong female lead. The fact that not all of the characters, including the male lead, were in strict good vs. evil categories was another plus. There was a lot of gray area.

The story is actually less about boxing and more about finding yourself and going forward on a path you chose for yourself, not a path someone else chose for you. There are some fight scenes (and I could not help wondering why on earth anybody would consider this fun), but it was not the main focus of the show. The final match was exciting and a perfect ending to the story.

Unexpectedly good was also the slowly developing romance between the two main characters. I usually find enemies-to-lovers plotlines quite entertaining anyway, and this one was very cute. It’s handled in a quiet way, like she tells him to go away, then looks for him when he doesn’t show up for their morning run... ah yes, it was rather adorable. The age gap, and I’m only mentioning it because of a few negative comments, was about 10 fictional years and did not matter one bit. She is an adult and makes her own decisions now. He helps her on the way. They both end up caring for each other vey much. The chemistry between them was great.

I would recommend this show to anyone who enjoys a unique story, appreciates strong female characters, and/or likes a slow burn romance.

Can't handle after 3 episodes

After watching 1st episode I had decided to drop it but after reading the reviews ,I thought I should give it try but can't handle till 3rd episode.. Literally very boring . Only the male lead acting was good and one of her assistant , the male one . Rest were not good. Female lead did overacting .hard to bear her acting . Please don't waste your time for this .
I hope you understood the story after reading synopsis . The title name should be cheat by boss not cheat my boss.
After watching three episodes I thought the title of the drama not matched with the story

One of the Best!!!!

Wow, I just finished this series and I am super sad. I loved this so much and didn’t want it to end. My favorite BL genre is mafia and this definitely did not disappoint. But, oh my gosh, there were twists and turns every episode. I actually binge watched this entire series in one day.

I loved the cast so much. They all did a fantastic job. The chemistry was off the charts! I loved the main couple but, wow, Yi and Ai Di were exceptional. The heartbreak, the tension, the denial, and the passion…. just wow.

Don’t miss the behind the scenes episode.

This will definitely go on my rewatch list.

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

(:

Honestly,I did not expect too much from this series when I first started it.It seemed boring and overall not my cup of tea.
First things first.the age gab between the main leads creeped me out.At first I thought he was a college student or at least 18,but when I found out that he was actually 17 and the other guy was twenty sth, I was beyond disappointed and I couldn't enjoy it as much as I wished to.Their love story did not intrigue me or interest me very much.
The second couple was definitely a bit better, however I just did not find their story that interesting. They definitely have a lot of potential and there also seems to be some chemistry between them.I definitely feel like if they would get another series together(and another plot)it will much greater than this one.
Overall, the plot felt so random to me.There were so many unnecessary things happening, and even the acting weirded me out at some points.
I do think that the actors did a decent job portraying these characters, however the plot did not help them in any way.
One thing that I liked about this was the ending OST.Like I would actually listen to that freely.
Of course,I am not trying to shame anyone who actually liked this, however if you had no problem with the age gap then you might want to think about it a few moments and reflect on your thoughts.

Not overly delicious, but still entirely edible

If I had to describe this show in one word I would go with "harmless". It's a sweet enough story without much bite (pun intended) but with some quite lovely moments. And that's about it.
Don't get me wrong, I don't dislike this show, it's perfectly fine. But personally I just didn't get very much out of it.

The actors did a good job and the editing and music were solid. The chemistry between the leads was good as well and I did quite enjoy some of the supporting characters.
I just also felt like there was something lacking. Sure, there were plot holes, but nothing particularly egregious or bothersome.
I occasionally had some trouble understanding certain characters' motivations, but liked them all well enough. Some of the conflicts were a bit ridiculous, but they weren't drawn out unnecessarily and over all the characters communicated with each other quite well.
I couldn't tell you exactly which of these things reduced my enjoyment of the story so much. Maybe it's all of them together.

But there are quite a lot of people who enjoy this show and I can understand why. It's a sweet, low-stakes, low-angst romance between to people who seem to genuinely care about each other and aren't afraid to show casual physical affection.
There are also a few novel aspects to the story such as the dreaded "love rival" who turns out not to be much of a rival at all and instead turns into a supportive friend.
But above all, the show is incredibly easy to watch. It's easy to understand, easy to like, and easy on the eyes.
You can blaze through it in a breezy 3.5 hours and, if nothing else, walk away with a feeling of not entirely having wasted that time.

So, while I personally didn't get much enjoyment out of the series and certainly wouldn't rank it among the greats of food-centered romances (of which I am usually quite a big fan), I would still recommend giving it a watch.
Maybe you'll find yourself vaguely disappointed, but maybe you'll enjoy it quite a lot. Either way, it's worth a shot.

Good ideas and characters, but lacking production

Just binged this show last night, and I enjoyed it. The characters were fun, the comedy was good, and the story concept was compelling. Sadly the execution was lacking. The first three episodes were incoherent and the viewer is left utterly confused as to what the h*ll is even happening. Luckily it does improve a bit after that little hump, but the storytelling and plot are still full of holes throughout the show. A very fun game to play while watching this drama is find the boom mic. Clearly the poor sound crew holding the mic got tired arms, and for whatever reason they just didn't bother reshooting the scenes or even removing it in post.

On to the characters (slight spoiler warning here)

I enjoyed the first couple. They were very cute. Their storyline could have been more fleshed out and better executed, but it was interesting none the less. The actors did a good job with pretty much everything except the kiss scenes. Those were, sadly, dead fish kisses. Based on the other kiss scenes in this show, and other k-bls, I will assume the reason for this is that one of the actors in this pairing is an active kpop idol, and the company only allowed the bare minimum kisses.

The second couple are by far my favorite. I'm a sucker for a friends-to-lovers cliche, as well as the classic black cat x golden retriver trope. Ma ru was by far my favorite character in the show, and I enjoyed watching his antics. Overall the actors did great and had no dead fish kisses to be found.

The third couple. Probably my least favorite couple (but the teachers assistant was one of my favorite characters). Their relationship just felt a little toxic to me. That being said, the actors were not lacking in chemistry, and once again, no dead fish kisses.

Overall it was a fun watch. 4/10 for production/writing but 8/10 for enjoyment.

Ao Haru Ride’s Best Live Action

Let me start with stating that I was a fan of the anime, and quickly pick up the manga right after, and unfortunately did not end up as one of my favorites due to many frustrations, but I was super excited about this live action since the trailer came out, why???

THE PERFECT CAST! like I was so surprise of these cast. I have also previously watch the live action movie version, and that pale into comparison with it’s casting especially for the main leads. I expected myself to be attracted to Kou, but never expected myself to be more attracted to Futaba on this version, the actress is such a delight to watch, and she wasn’t just pretty, she absolutely nailed the character, it was such a natural to watch her.

Season 1 only has 8 episodes, compare to anime who has 13 episodes, and the anime did not even get to a point where the main leads had their first kiss, so that being said a lot had been skipped. This live action was more fast paced and only focus on the highlights of the story, I would have like them to have spend more time on the friendship side too, and here I am suddenly wishing JDrama would have more episodes on their season. Probably the only cons I could point out. It would have been more flesh out relationship/friendship wise if there were more episodes to show the interactions.

Despite it being felt short, this version was definitely worth watching, the cast brought in their characters on a silver platter, they like came out of the pages, and portrayed their part beautifully.

The chemistry between the leads was great! I wish to see more and more of them, and I cannot wait for the season2. I need the sweet couple moments!

IF YOU ARE NOT FAMILIAR WITH THE STORY:
The premise was amazing, the story is truly a classic romance story with all the drama if you like drama. Childhood friends/crushes who parted ways due to unexpected situation, and met again when both aren’t the same person as they used to be, and despite that changes, managed to still fell for each other the second time around and mixed it with drama.

I used to be very frustrated with Kou like I wanted to shake him so badly, but with this version (at least to what has been shown so far in terms of Kou’s attitude with Futaba) it’s been tone down which I appreciated so much, and the portrayal of the actor makes me understand his situation and his actions, his eyes are very expressive that hold such sadness, and all kinds of emotions.

With more drama coming their way on season 2, I would like to separate that second half of the story from my rating, season 1 served well and big thanks to the cast, I enjoyed every part of it.

THE OST WAS SO BEAUTIFUL! I’m addicted to the ost, it has been on repeat.

P.S. big thanks to the subber that subbed the show, she didn’t want to be linked but you’ll see her watermarked at the credits, it’s been amazing watching fansubs again, it takes me back when subs are done so beautifully matching the fonts, subbing all parts.

amazing chemistry, new favorite Taiwanese BL

I went into the show without reading any of the description. I'm so happy I watched it. the main leads chemistry is absolutely phenomenal. I genuinely thought both main characters had a good amount of depth. the plot is solid and the NC scenes were so well done. I also felt like there wasn't too much unnecessary drama. this was a perfect addition to workplace drama genre. I even really enjoyed the side characters. I highly recommend this series and it's totally bingeable. the ending is also just perfect!

Beautiful drama, but badly produced!

Let me start reviewing this drama by saying how this drama could have been much more popular and highly rated if the authors and producers had done a better job. That's it.

The story is rather the same drama fantasy cliche, extraordinary gifts, a murder plot, and a steamy office romance, mixed with childhood lovers. It had so much potential, the story is actually entertaining and the leads have a marvelous chemistry, so what went wrong?

The drama's story was all over the place. There is no development. There is no background history and suddenly the leads start liking each other. There is no connection between the characters in the drama and simply they exist because they had to. This lack of coherence is what made the drama poorly executed and less intriguing to the audience.

The leads have one of the most beautiful chemistries and there are many Romantic/steamy scenes but without any development. They could've used the fantasy element as the focus of the show and let the leads roll around by it. The second leads and other supporting cast simply show up and are done!

It doesn't seem like a low-budget drama but again, weak execution makes everything bland.

Overall, if you love romance and can simply watch a drama for its romance, then you will enjoy this drama! just don't get too deep into the story and let it roll :)
