I'm not sure why I put this off for so long, but I did. As it turned out, some stressful things had happened at work and I needed something light and fun, and finally it clicked. So I watched... and watched... and watched.

The show captured me pretty quickly. It isn't a deep, in-depth love story. At times, I found myself face-palming, particularly with Ming and Kit, but in the end, it made me smile.

I don't remember as much of the music, which says to me it wasn't anything grand, but also didn't drive me insane. I did like the two songs that I do recall, and they were just generally sweet songs.

The cast is adorable and has a lot of great energy. I would be deeply disappointed if they don't continue with a second season, as I really feel there is so much more to tell, particularly in terms of the side couples.

I'd watch it again when I need something light and silly.

I loved this series so much. I watched it 3 times.. yes, I was a bit obsessed with it. It was hard to move on to the series.
The characters was so cute and lovely!
I watched it with my friend and we were crying and screaming many times.. we became fangirls!
It's not about two dating guys. That's not the point. It's about true love without genders. It was so beautiful, 'cause love is love.
Wayo and Phana, Kit and Ming, Forth and Beam... I love these couples so much! I am looking forward to continuation.

A beautiful simple story

Okay, so if you sre looking for a dramatic, complicated stroyline, this drama sure aint it. I cant believe how simple the stroyline is but at the same time, I couldn't help falling in love with this.

This drama made me feel good, happy, bubbly, shy and all other sort of good emotions ran through me while watching this. It is just such a FEEL GOOD drama which I much appreciate it for. I love the 2 leads with each other as well as the friendship between the three medical students which was awesome to watch. I love how everyone in their friendship line was rooting for each other in their romantic lives. All I can say is that I love this drama. It doesnt have a ground breaking stroyline but its so BEAUTIFUL IN ITS SIMPLICITY.

2 Moons is my second Thai BL series. This show was recommended to me by a friend after I have gushed over the first episode of 2 Gether (and watched 2 Moons while I was waiting for the 2nd episode of 2 Gether). ;-)

STORY:
2 Moons is based on the novel by Chiffon Cake. It is basically about a boy (Wayo) who had a crush in high school (Phana) who is senior to him and now the former enters the same university as the latter. Wayo joins this campus contest (Stars and Moons) with representatives from different faculties (Medicine, Science, Engineering, etc.) and P'Pha is the reigning Moon of the Faculty of Medicine as well as the Campus Moon himself. Of course, despite the initial animosity between the two, the relationship between them develop over the course of the series during school scenes, contest practices, meals, out-of-town trips and there's even a rain scene! It was found out later in the series that P'Pha also has feelings for Wayo even when they were in high school. The flashback scenes in high school were quite good especially during Wayo's attempt at confession to P'Pha. I could feel the shock and sadness of Wayo upon hearing the conversation between P'Pha and his friends. :-(

School dramas are not new to me. I have watched many of the same genre albeit in other countries (like my favorite j-dorama Hana Kimi). There were even some reviews of 2 Moons that said it is like another series (Sotus) but it did not matter to me at that time because I haven't watched SOTUS yet before watching 2 Moons. The scenarios happening in the campus, the school contest and school dormitories seem familiar already to me but since this is a BL themed series, I found it quite new and endearing.

CAST/ACTING:
The cast were generally good even the ones in supporting characters (hello Fairy Angel Gang) but I think there are three (3) actors who stood out in 2 Moons, unfortunately not all in a good way.

For one, while Godt (P'Pha) is undeniably good-looking, he still has a lot to improve in terms of acting. I am more inclined to believe that that it was an acting problem rather than a directing problem. For one thing, the performances of other actors in the series like Bas (Wayo) and Khem (Ming) were very good. Also, Godt was good in portraying P'Pha as a jerk in the early episodes of the series but in the later episodes when his character is supposedly already having feelings for Wayo he is no longer that believable. His "sweetness" towards Wayo seemed fake and forced. Forgive me, but I don't feel the chemistry between the two characters even during the car scene. I cringed everytime he just raised his eyebrows and smirked at Wayo during their supposedly lovey dovey scenes. Ugh! Sadly, I think he is the weakest actor in this series despite playing a main character.

As I said previously, the actors playing the main character Wayo and his bestfriend Ming were exceptionally good.
Khem is quite good portraying the bestfriend Ming. He was so supportive, understanding and funny. Very good in comedic timing and the emotive delivery of his lines. Not to mention, his teasing of P'Kit was way better than P'Pha's teasing of Wayo (sorry Godt). :-)

Bas is also very good as the adorably cute Wayo with the right amount of innocence and courage to stand up to the arrogant P'Pha. During the heartbreaking moments, I could empathize with Wayo and really could feel the hurt and sadness in his eyes. (His character is also relatable to me not only because I love manga/anime like One Piece but also since personally I've also had a crush since high school. Although we went to the same college but nothing happened unfortunately. I'm such a pussy. haha)

Apart from the expected kissing scene in Thai BL series (the kissing scene in 2 Moons is not even a full-blown peck in the mouth. haha), there is no "bed scene" in the series. So I think this is quite a tame BL series and could be considered for "general patronage" rating for audiences.

MUSIC:
During the course of watching (and rewatching) 2 Moons, I got LSS on two songs from this series even if I couldn't memorize the lyrics.

I love the beginning theme song of the show by Pause entitled "Kae Dai Bpen Kon Soot Tai Tee Tur Kit Teung" (Just To Be the Last Person You Think Of). The song talked about a person not wishing too much but just being the last person being thought of by a loved one is enough. We have a word for that in Filipino - hugot. hehe. On top of the sweet lyrics, it has a bossa nova feel which is sweet and calming at the same time. An instrumental version of the song is also played during the course of the series during the sad scenes. :-)

On top of that, I especially loved the song arrangement of "Kon Tummadah" (Ordinary Guy). Although it was a cover of a past song which is more upbeat, this melancholic version sung personally by Bas (the actor playing the character Wayo) is a good fit for the story and the main characters. It was really touching to hear Wayo singing that he is only a simple guy - not a special person and he can only offer his heart and body to his beloved. Awwww. The song was made even more special because prior to his performance during the talent portion of the contest, Wayo gave a short monologue on how he was chosen as the Moon of his faculty after answering the question "What is love?" Awww. What a nice song to dedicate to his crush (P'Pha) right? We also have another word for that in Filipino - kilig. haha

PRODUCTION:
Apart from the many product placements during the course of 2 Moons, I think the production values of this series is better than its supposed sequel (2 Moons 2). The scenery, the costume and makeup as well as the cinematography of this series was better in my opinion. (I say this because there were some scenes in 2 moons 2 which I felt amateurish).
Overall, the script was good but there were just some times when the lines become so cheesy.

I am shocked to see that this is the first and only project of the director Kanchanapun Meesuwan. As of writing this review (May 15, 2020), I could only see one entry for the director in the MDL website. I hope he would get more series or movies soon with the same quality (if not better) in 2 Moons.

FINAL THOUGHTS:
After I finished watching the entire series, I talked about it with the same friend who recommended it to me and I found out that he meant another show (2 Moons 2). hahaha. Oh well. In any case, I had so much fun watching this series. Maybe it was a blessing in disguise. ;-)

2 Moons may seem light and fluffy but then again, I think we need some of that in our lives from time to time. Although it is not a perfect series but if you love cute and sweet school dramas (or you need a brief respite from heavy dramas, evil characters and complicated stories), then this is for you.

I have re-watched the entire series for more than 5 times already and for me that is the best compliment a show could have. Have fun watching!

P.S. After waching this series, I was very sad when I found out that the main characters were changed in "2 Moons 2". Initially I did not plan on watching "2 Moons 2" because of the casting change from the first series but I could not help it. So after a month or so of restraining myself, I gave in eventually. haha. Hoping also to see more film/TV projects from the actors especially Khim , Bas and even better performance from Godt perhaps? hehe

(For "2 Moons 2" series, see my separate review)

Idk something is off

Story
Now personally the story is really good and I love it though it is a little creepy. However I think that in 2Moons they went soooo slow. Like I got the whole message of the first season with details from the first 4 episodes on 2Moons2.

Acting/Cast
Personally the cast for me just doesn't do it. In fact I heard there were supposed to be more kissing scenes but God (the actor for Pha) refused to do them. That right there brings me down. I understand that kissing someone that you are not attracted to is weird but really? You signed up for this being in a BL. Also I heard that he repeatedly rubbed his lips after the kiss. However besides all that aside I still think the acting was a little off. Maybe awkward I can't really place my finger on it. The actors are good and I do wish they stayed to make a second season but at the same time I am soooo addicted to the new cast.

Music
I got to say the OST is pretty catchy. It also makes me lowkey sad they didn't stay for another season. It make me miss them :( I really enjoy the OST. 10/10 100%

Overall
I don't think you NEED to watch this show cause 2Moons2 sums the whole season up in 4 episodes but at the same time...... I think it is a wonderful show just don't get to emotionally attached to the actors or you will be sad like me.

A show filled with cute, innocent moments. The big issue I have with this series is that it didn't seem to have any sort of climax and the story line was starting to be dragged towards the end. It was a simple plot that could've been fit into 5-6 episodes. Production wasn't great. Actors could actually act well though, so that was a pity. For some reason, I felt that there were a lot of silent moments? The series was honestly just mediocre. The actors were really good-looking nonetheless, and that honestly helped. Plus, cute scenes between Phana and Wayo saved the show.

This is going to be a difficult review for me because I adore the cast so much but I want to write an honest review so here we go.

I am not very critical; usually, if the story makes me feel something (even if the plot sucks) I can't be too harsh but when I compare this to other bl series I've watched (and there aren't a lot of them) I can't help but think about its flaws. I obviously ALMOST loved it, otherwise I wouldn't have given it 8 stars, but again, I am NOT a harsh critic and pretty much everything is fine with me.

STORY: Yes, it was cute. It made sense and it allowed us to understand the characters. But it could have been so much better! It was like they were putting everything a bl fan loves in one show but that doesn't work because it becomes cheesy after a while. They could have made it a little bit more interesting, even if it was different from the book. And when it could have gotten better, it just didn't (I'm referring to the "love triangle" thing, which should have been developed or not there at all!).

CHARACTERS/ACTING/CAST: The acting was just fine, in my opinion. I don't think there was a lot the actors could do with that script. And as I've already said, I love the cast, especially God and Kimmon. But there were some characters that started annoying me after a while. I'm sorry but Yo shouldn't have been the main character. He was so uninteresting that I couldn't make myself like the main couple as much as I could have. He was innocent but that didn't have to make him boring. I liked Pha much better. Beam and Forth were kind of just there? They didn't really contribute to the plot, in my opinion, even though I liked both of them. Kit and Ming had the best dynamic but lacked development. The side characters were good enough.

MUSIC: I just didn't care for it.

REWATCH? This may sound contradictory but I would rewatch this series. It's a fun show, at the end of the day.

CONCLUSION: They shouldn't have tried to make a "perfect show" with all the "attractive elements" because that's what ruined it a little for me. I'm anxiously waiting for season 2 though! But I've heard God won't be in it, is that true? That makes me really sad because I really liked Pha. Oh well, I hope it's better than the first one!

Don't be afraid to watch this series, you will probably like it a lot ^^

This is a very cute drama that's nice if you're not looking for anything too serious. The chemistry between all of the actors was really great, and their stories all progressed in very believable ways. The character development was very evident from the start of the series to the end and I found it fulfilling to see. The main couple had a very interesting dynamic, as did the secondary couple. The production value was pretty high up there with some of the best dramas I've seen. I would've liked to see a little less awkwardness during some of the more serious scenes, and I also would have liked for certain plot points to be explicitly discussed/resolved, but overall it was pretty good.

Definitely a series that will make you smile, if nothing else.

Yes! You'll be disappointed. They changed the entire cast and replaced them with, i don't want to be rude, but I want to be honest . .. Original casts were replaced by, NVM. But I'll give it to them, yes, they were all trying but it's just that something is really off, something is missing or lacking. Especially when you were hooked already with the original casts. I felt so bad for them especially to Bas, he shed tears during interviews regarding the changes. He was really looking forward to do it, he was eager to do it. But he was robbed! My poor baby was robbed!! It was pure injustice. I don't hate the new cast, I HATE THE MANAGEMENT!! THE PRODUCERS!! THE AUTHOR!!! yes, your story made me smile, laugh, it made me joyful. It gave me hope abouy love but your decisions are awful, disgusting!!

But if you really want to watch it, GO! I highly recommend this to every BL fan out there.

Things that I really want to see in a movies or series are: looks, chemistry, acting, and storyline.

LOOKS: Wayo (Bas Suradej Pinnirat) is very cute and handsome, has fair complexion, and has nice sexy body built and for Phana (God Itthipat Thanit) is handsome and so damn hot.

CHEMISTRY: When it comes to chemistry they are good at each other. They will really make the girls and LGBT community jealous if they are together.

ACTING: Wayos's acting is very genuine and cute. I wanted to kiss that lips also its so kissable. While Phana's acting is so sexy to watch.

STORYLINE: It really makes my heart happy when the guy is the person who has a first crush to the gay person. It's kinda weird though and I don't know if it really happens in real life since usually it's the gay person who will first approach the man. I really like also those scenes that Phana put the keys in his mouth and he was teasing Wayo to get it using his mouth too. Ughhh so damn hot.

If you want to just relax and watch a cute love story, this one is perfect for you. The casts are cute and perfectly matched the supposed personalities. The music fits the moods. The only downside is probably just the acting, which wasn't overly terrible, but still could be much better. Though it's understandable, considering most of the main cast were new actors. The plot is simple enough, but whoever the screenwriter is, they definitely did a wonderful job creating cute moments and overall sweet atmosphere.
