I know I shouldn't but I can't help but to compare it with other previous BL-themed tv series. The story is not the most original. All aspects of the storyline were already shown before. Even before the series began, we were already familiar with Star & Moon Competition, couple bracelets and pink milk. We have already seen multiple boy-to-boy couples coexisting in one campus. We have witnessed how a lead character suffered from unrequited love that turned out to be mutual after a few episodes. There were some revelations but I don't think 2 Moons has made them its own.

However, what I loved about the series is that it's all pure fun. What it lacked in substance, it made up in cuteness. The casting was great although the acting in general was at most average. My favorite was Kimmon (Ming) because his acting was the most natural. I had doubts at first but the chemistry of God (Pha) and Bas (Yo) worked very well for me. All their scenes together just made me vomit rainbows and butterflies. They made me watch the sweet moments over and over. I was shrieking inside. It was pure fan service.

Overall, 2 Moons was enjoyable to watch. Every episode will just make you giggle and tear your pillows in half. It is a feel good series. If this was the first gay series I've seen, I would've gone crazy and delulu over it. But BL drama has already evolved and unfortunately 2 Moons was late to the party. After seeing a succession of BL series, what I'm looking for right now is progression. What I'm looking for is content and quality.

Good story! But, I feel this series is like SOTUS? Like there is a pink milk scene? Scenes of the men's and women's election contest for the university? The bracelet scene? Their scenes express feelings of love on the mattress or in the bedroom? What is the author of the same ?. I think this series is also too hasty, like to convey a sweet story in the novel course. Then I see, the actor is also not playing well! Only the best Tee and Coper here! And the other actors are still stiff. Sorry they should rehearse and not just rely on their handsome faces and cute faces.

2 Moons (2017): A Mediocre Drama

The story was really plain and predictable. It didn’t live up to my expectations which was unfortunate because it really has a potential to have a good story line; moreover, 2 moons lacked depth. There were some scenes which were cringey and poorly executed. On the other hand, the cinematography was fine.

The cast was charismatic and good-looking; however, the acting was substandard. The facial expressions and movements were stiff which was understandable since most of them are new actors but it really affected the exhibition of scenes. It didn’t potray the suitable feelings which led for me to adjust my understanding of a certain segment. It could also be the reason why the drama lacks chemistry. For example, the actor that portrayed Phana was really stiff and the facial expressions were dull which made me believe that he doesn’t really like Wayo. The supposedly heart warming scenes became cringey and bland. On the other hand, the actors have potential to be good actors especially Bas. Overall, it is a mediocre drama which you could watch during your free time but it won’t stand out compared to other BL dramas. Instead, you would be much more interested in the actors at the end.

I watched the whole series to see what the hype was. After 12 episodes, I still don't get the hype about this series. Production was only mediocre, though I suspect this has more to do with financial lacking. Plot wise, the story sucked ass. Clichés can be done well. But that wasn't the case for 2Moon. It was a cheap-shot amateur drama for those who crave ANYTHING boys love. The author of this BL novel series didn't even try but merely packed the story with all things they read from other BL stories. Story's extremely shallow.

I do like Khemmonta though. I like him as an actor, good talent. As for God, very good looking guy but holy crap if a stone had a face - dude's got deadpan expression. Perhaps go back and take acting lessons and learn the art of facial expressions. And first time acting has nothing to do with it. Plenty of first time actors who pulled off their first role. I hear debates about pulling a second season or just cancelling it. I think cancelling it would do the actors greater justice so each of those young talent can move on to better projects. BL or not.

actors: Khemmonta +
Rewatch Value = 0.

Unlike other BL Thai Series, 2Moons The Series is light romance BL Thai Series.
The plot isn't too complicated, you will enjoy the most time of episodes.

Storyline: Based on a novel by chiffon_cake, 2Moons The Series serve you a university life that relatable for most of the SEA college student. The pacing is good, that made me enjoy watching this series.

Casting: Almost perfect, some the reader said that some of the actors not portrayed correctly, but in my opinion is okay. And the extras are awesome! A lot of other Moon and Star very good looking. The Casting team did the job very well.

Acting: In the early episode, some actor still looked stiff. But they got better throughout the episodes.
Every character has their own charm, sure you will get hooked by one of them.

Music: love the music, it suits well with the drama, and the Background music is awesome, it is light and synched with main OST. I expect more music for this drama.

Rewatch: Must watch, because it will be connected with the rest of seasons!

Verdict: I give 2Moons the series 9.5/10, great story that makes everyone melt

2moons, AKA the Cursed Series

No doubt that this show has had some serious problems (on and off-screen), but I can't help but love how light this series was. Right off the bat, I was mesmerized by how stunningly adorable Wayo was. He was cute and smol, and so precious, and I loved him so much. This series is rated so highly just because I enjoyed Wayo and Pha way more than I probably should've. Yes, they were pretty bland and their story wasn't anything too interesting, but for some reason, I loved them so much.
I want justice for MingKit. Kim and Copter hands down had the best chemistry in the series. I wish so badly we would've been able to see more of them, but thank god Gen Y happened (I would say Hotel Stars, but um NO).
I guess the show said fuck Forth and Beam cause we didn't see them at all. They were advertised throughout the show, but then never talked, or flirted, or even acknowledged the existence of each other. If they did speak, then it was so forgettable that I (whelp) forgot.
The acting was kind of wonky on this show. As much as I loved Bas, I can't help but kind of hate the unemotional blank stares he gave throughout the series. Also, Pha was pretty bland and the actor made him boring and lifeless. I still don't appreciate how feminine gay people are treated in BL, and 2moons is no different. At least Wayo was the Angel Gang's friend, even though he acted uncomfortable around them.
I heard some say that God (Pha) was pretty anti-gay on the set. I don't know how much of this is true, and how much of this is false, but how in the hell can you work in the BL industry and be homophobic?? That's like being a teacher and hating children. I hope this rumor isn't as true as I believe it is, but if it is then the companies of these shows need to start holding these actors accountable and so do the fans.
For whatever reason, they re-casted EVERY SINGLE MAIN CHARACTER. As soon as I fell in love with this cast, they're taken away from me with a drop of a hat. It's like being given a piece of cake and told you can't eat it. I was ready to hate the next cast so hard, but turns out I loved them just as equally (maybe even more. Oops).
This series was just a ball of fluff and it's a nice watch for anyone that wants a lighthearted, dainty series. Nothing too special about the plot. Actually, I think the concept of there being a "king and queen" on campus to be a bit high schoolish, but it doesn't harm anyone, and we get Wayo being a cinnamon roll and MingKit giving the feels. I loved it.

Please don’t not watch it because of me, try it for yourself you may enjoy it.

I did watch it a little while ago and just now decided to make a review but for the most part I can say it’s alright. I definitely expected more considering how many people loved this show but it’s wasn’t my thing I guess. The couples take some time to build and it’s just kinda boring. Not exactly the fact that they were a bit slow but just because the couples in general weren’t that interesting. For the main couple there’s not any bit of skinship like no intimacy at all. (holding hands, cuddling, etc yk all that cute stuff lol) it’s just bland but sweet at times I will admit. And the side couple had some flirtatious moments but that was for the most part one sided and they were never official. Overall I watched the whole thing in hopes of the couples developing more but never really got what I wanted out of it. If you happen to be the type to enjoy healthier and more “innocent” I wanna say, couples than this could be right for you.

2 Moons - The O.G.

The acting was fine, but I'm again still wondering why so many BL writers have to put in scenes in their novels, which belittle the serious topic of rape. In this adaption, I counted at least 3 to 5 scenes, in which the topic of rape was used in a joke to the Wayo character. I also found it particular how Wayo's attractiveness was stated in a way, that made it seem necessary that his "cuteness" was another way to point out his manliness was somehow different from Phana.

I liked how supportive Wayo and Phana's friends were in their encouragement of their relationship.

I loved practically everything about this drama EXCEPT for the story line, which is a big part of what makes a drama even watchable. There was so much hype for this drama I thought I would give it a try and I liked the first few episodes, although as I got further into the series I realized how poorly written the plot was. I finished it to see if they would explain anything in the plot that was missing, like how they first met or how they even began to like each other but they never did. If somebody can explain this to me or if I missed something then I might change my mind about the plot but that really bothered me and made the drama kinda annoying. I think what most people like about this drama is the cute cast members because I'm not going to lie the were all nice to look at and the acting was not bad either and I especially loved the OST for this. I have watched a lot of BL dramas and this by far has disappointed me the most, but I think that is mainly because of how much it was hyped it definitely did not meet the expectations of that hype. Overall this was completely over hyped.

This was my first BL drama AND my first Thai drama, so I was really hoping for something great, especially as the actors are really nice to look at. But unfortunately that's all about all they're good at...

The story itself is great, with some really nice twists in the end which make the story not your typical hate to love story.

The cast is, as I already said, really nice to look at. But the ACTING is a disaster... At least God is really a bad actor here. While Bas and the others do a pretty alright job, God is just so off.

The music is annoying as hell! I wanna talk to the editor... No, no talk, just take them and shake them so they stop playing these annoying tunes at the most improper times. Ugh!

Rewatch value - 0/0

Overall, Bas did a great job and especially Kim was really good (as all the side characters). Unfortunately, God disappointed and the conversations were sometimes so damn awkward, topped off with the most annoying music. It's a pity, it could have been so good!

Sweet

This drama will kill you with cuteness and happiness.

First off i watched gen y before this, so it was to see how everything and everyone met.

There were times were you had to some have patience, the story does go up and down, the main characters were sweet but it did feel forced or no chemistry at all.

Each character does progress and you see how they grow towards each other, i particular loved ming and kit (probably the only reason i watched),

Overall its a sweet story

Cute, Adorable, and Sweet

If you want sugar, watch this series. (However, you just might go into a diabetic coma). If you want something deep, this ain’t it. It is a simple story of unfulfilled love told in an adorable way. There are no deep holes in this story nor real pitfalls of emotions. It is like a freight train moving slowly towards its destination with an occasional slow-down because of congestion. I really liked the story, although I should not have. Seriously, it is not that interesting or creative but in a weird way it works. I can tell you that what makes this work is only one reason (for me). That is the adorableness, and cuteness of its main character. He is utterly and totally charming, and you simply can not keep your eyes off him. He captures the screen like no one else can. He does not even need to speak to know what he is saying. I have not seen screen presence so captivating in a long, long time. I am talking about Suradej Pinniwat (Bas) who plays Wayo. I could simply watch him breathe on screen for hours and be captivated by him. My full review of this series is at my free blog site at ppbongi.medium,com.
