Confused
It's been a PHAT minute since I've last seen this, so forgive me if my response is pretty small, but I really don't remember much. I remember being highly confused and lost in the entire story, The one thing I did remember is the rape that occurred. Once again with romanticizing rape and sexual assault. Did not enjoy the part of him literally getting forced into a tent (a wide-open tent at that). The acting wasn’t the best, which is why it’s at a 6, but it's probably the best one out of all the first Histories. It's the only one with a story and the only one that drew me in until the awful occurrence of rape and sexual assult.I don't recommend this series, nor do I really recommend any of the first three history series.

Viki lists this as HIStory 1: Ep. 3
I'm an H1O apologist but you should know what you are in for with that title. It has a stalking theme meets fated mates and quite a bit of dubious consent. Uke obsessed with seme to the point of losing himself and his identity dies after being rejected, and then has a chance to reboot his life. He decides to save himself by never falling in love. But destiny is a bitch, and this time the seme becomes obsessed with him. This one owes a lot to dark Chinese and Japanese BL, but kind of corrects for the expected death and sadness by ending happily and playing with a ton of BL tropes.
The leads have good chemistry, it's higher heat and the first time Taiwan starts to push that, and VERY DRAMATIC.
There is a side dish pairing of disaster bi uke on an enemies to lovers track who also end happy.
If you liked China's Addicted you will probably like this show. RECOMMENDED WITH RESERVATIONS

That said, the actors seem to be very kind and funny people in real life. They took their role very serious and had no problem with touching and kissing each other. That's a plus. I just wished the story would have been different. I would like to see the same leads acting in another series. I would watch it for sure!

trigger warning !!
The 1 star is because there isn't a way to rate it a 0. I feel bad for the actors but I can't sugar coat things. Depicting continuous sexual assaults as romance and is very very wrong. There is no justification to such a heinous act no matter what the situation.I would give a 0 to both the story and the rewatch value if I could. Absolutely horrifying!
I was disgusted and uncomfortable watching this. This is probably not only the worst part of the History franchise but one of the worst dramas ever made.

Reading the synopsis on the website I thought the two main characters were involved in a car accident and to prevent to the car accident, one of the guys get reincarnated to erase their relationship. If they never meet, the two never get into a fatal car accident together. I was wrong. The series starts with Yi-chen running out of what appears to be a coffee shop after being told by his boyfriend that he is going to marry someone else. Running in tears, he gets hit by a car and dies. He becomes reincarnated with the view of changing his life and ensuring that he never meets Jiang Jing Teng so that he wont be hurt in the future.
He burns the diary pages he has of him but a few blow in the wind which get to Jiang Jing Teng. He begins to like Yi-chen who wants nothing to do with him, but knows that the young man like him. After his accident, Jiang Jing Teng pretends to have amnesia so that he can be get closer to Yi-chen.
The premise sounds good but by the fourth episode, I was really getting pissed at all the sexual assault and kisses without consent. Kissing someone is not the same as talking or communicating feelings. Jiang Jing Teng becomes obsessed with Yi-chen but I didn't know for what reason. Based of a feeling that he should be his? I had expected the obsessed to come from Yi-chen. The Jiang Jing Teng from the future that we saw in flashbacks was completely different that the one that we see in the past. What the hell happened?
I will admit that the last 7 minutes of the last episode made me cry. I had wanted to know the aftermath of the car accident which we did get a glimpse of and some revelations. Overall, the premise was good though I had a few issues. This does not beat History 3: Trapped to me, but I do like some scenes that I have watched a few times.

this was very weird
i don’t usually leave reviews but this was not a love story, at all. “i’m going to kill you if you don’t love me back” is so WEIRD to me. and the fact that it was romanticized is even more odd to me. i understand it’s called obsessed, and there was definitely obsession, but i just feel like there was a better way to go about it. with that being said, points because the actors were good and deserved a better story than this. wish i could see them in something else, but it’s been forever so i have no hope anymore. Was this review helpful to you?
The story is quite messy (mostly because the whole series is too short for the story to actually pan out properly), the filming is more film class project and less like an actual web series (low budget ones usually are) and the music is so-so.
What is actually worth seeing is the acting. It's amazing. The emotions and angst and the passion. Some characters were surprising, some were as expected but still did the job very well. I just wish that Mu Bai and the senior he was with had their own storyline but I won't hold my breath.

Late to the game
I'm watching all of the History Series out of order though seeing as they are all self-contained short stories, it's not a big deal. What is a big deal is that I wish I hadn't put this on the back burner for so long in favor of other series that ended up being mediocre. This was so good that I am sure to watch it again and again when I want a short, palate cleanser in-between the longer series out there.
The story was fast paced yet still had enough substance to it to keep the audience engaged and entertained. The idea of rebirth yet reliving the same life, as if given the chance to correct one single mistake is complex but handled well enough here. Sure, there's no real explanation as to why or how he was reborn except for maybe the hand movement that Cai Yi Jun did by the riverside though we don't know why it works. Is she a witch or something?
Anyway, if you don't overthink it too much and take it at face value, this was a great watch. The chemistry between the two leads will surely satisfy the more mature audience out there who are tired of the dead fish kisses and lack of connection between leads. I like the forceful ardor of the lead though I know it could be off-putting to the more sensitive viewer. I'd just say look at the title of the story and there shouldn't be any surprises.

HiStory 1: Obsessed is my favourite episode of the HiStory 1 series.Obviously, it's super toxic love (and irl relationships like this are big yikes), but what I think a lot of people misunderstand is that the obsessive, possessive love flows both ways from Jiang Jin Teng & Shao Yi Chen; Jiang Jin Teng is just more overt with his possessiveness behaviour. Shao Yi Chen actively stalks JJT and pays such close attention to JJT that he notices his minute shoulder movements when playing basketball.
There is nothing wrong or bad about you if you enjoy this type of storyline, because more likely than not; you 100% do not condone these in irl relationships.
Enjoying problematic themes does not equal YOU being problematic.

The chemistry between the main and secondary couple is just mind blowing. They look comfortable around each other and don't seem afraid to intimately interact with each other unlike in other bl drama.
In addition while this should not have enthralled me as much as it did, the make-up team did a great job
Overall, I give this drama an A because even though the story was a little hard to follow, it is not the main reason for watching it. The chemistry is and the actors blew it out of the water.
