Another waste

I honestly dont understand how this got high ratings.
This one is by far the worst of the franchise. Started off in 2025 (really i don't now why) then we die and come back to the same spot years later, (rolling eyes)

The relationship was toxic, and dysfunction, i get its called obsessed, but honestly there was no character development or story line, there was no consequences to the sexual assaults.

This one i actually fast forward certain parts as i just couldn't wait to get over with it.

Another waste

Ten years ago,
Ten years have gone,
Will return again,
Back then,
Same place, same person,
Both times?
Both also occur?
You choose to do the same thing if you can return only ten years ago?
Where are you afraid, occurred in the future, at present or they may repeat the past?
--
This series deserves a big round of applause! The execution of the actors, excellent! The writers behind this surpassed the limits and the sky. No, not the ordinary, fascinating. You don't expect the next.

Of all the History season 1 stories, this was my favorite. It wasn't that it was very unique, there are a lot of time travel plots out there in dramaworld but I thought this had a nice message where even if you try to change fate, it might not work but also fate may change to help you out as well. I am trying not to give anything away (sorry of that is vague) but you will understand when you watch this. I think this plot also ended on a very good note too. THAT ENDING WAS SO GOOD!
(again you will know when you see it)

The main couple in this story have AMAZING chemistry. I thought they were very good together and showed lots of connection and emotion when they interacted with each other.

The music was good too. It didn't lend itself much for the story but it was sweet and had a nice touch in parts.

I WILL TOTALLY WATCH THIS AGAIN AND RECOMMEND IT TO OTHER PEOPLE!

This plot is totally insane, and the editing is low-budget and choppy. I still don't understand what happened at the end of episode 2--although it was a pretty significant plot point.

On the other hand, this couple have amazing chemistry. The emotions between them develop in a strange way--because of the rebirth plotline--but feel totally real. I wish the story were clearer (and maybe included less amnesia). But the last 10 minutes, which show us both alternate realities for our hero's life, deliver a real emotional punch. Also, sometimes this show is very sexy. That boosts the rewatch value a lot, for purely shallow reasons.

Seriously, this is the first HIStory I would give a perfect score. I won't give anything away and I can't speak much about it. This is a story I was angry it was only 17 minutes per episode and there was only 4 episodes; but if it was longer it would taint and drag the story into a direction it didn't have to go.

There were other characters---and we didn't need their backstories. There is a time travel/time skip/waking dream sort of feel to the drama that could turn this into a Korean hot mess. <---I've had enough of those to last me a life time.

Much in the Chinese style [this is Taiwanese] they kept dry, like fine whiskey. This was simply focusing on the lead characters and that was all. No variables, none of the other mix-ups. We will bring up a few shifts just to make you think---but the focus is on the leads...and how.

Jesus...the leads.

Ren Teddy as [Shao Yi Chen] is new to the scene but damn can he hold a scene. That man can deliver. Deliver a scene like no other. I wonder if he's gay in real life. I only ask because I want to marry him. Those lips...the way he kisses...wow. Just wow. Shao Yi Chen is in love with He Bernard [Jiang Jin Teng]. It is apparent from the get go. It is that weird unhealthy love.

Early on, SYC is clearly the one obsessed to the point he is moving away from it and breaking those bonds that time him to JJT --however he's bound to him and vice versa ---their bound as you would see in an ouroboros.

The love scenes are so intense and powerful...wow. Just wow. Very arousing. It's just a good romantic story; it resonates. It's a great BL story, the make out scenes are wow, it is something to watch.

Tragedy to fate

*outline*
I actually expected a lot less from this particular chapter from HIStory1. But it definitely exceeded my expectations. It also gave off the same vibes as 'My Hero' - also in HIStory1. If you haven't watched that, then definitely do so. Every HIStory chapter is unique to each role and character and we really need to applaud the scriptwriters for coming up with such interesting plots.

*analysis*
STORY : As I mentioned, the story is indeed unique. It's something that I've never seen from Taiwan, however I do have to admit I don't watch many Taiwan BLs. Which, now that I mention it, I really should. Although there was a little fantasy involved where Yi Chen went back 9 years, it also gives us a reality check of LGBTQ today and how they are treated, even by their own loved ones. The title really fit the story, and I didn't realize how perfect the title for the story was until I reached the last episode. The pacing was perfect, not too slow nor too fast - even though there was a time skip. We were also given more insight to the characters and their emotions because of the focus on each character. No scene was left to make me think they were useless or the detail was too little. The empathy I felt was clear as day because of this. The confessions were so good and definitely very different from the other HIStory1 chapters.

ACTING/CAST : I actually think Bernard He throughout some, if not all, parts of the story. But I eventually understood why his acting was such, and this is another thing I realized in the last episode. Teddy Ren did exceptionally well as Shao Yi Chen. His character was so reasonable that there was nothing to doubt in saying anything good about him as an actor or his role. I have to admit though, my favorite character were all the side characters. If not for them, the ending wouldn't have been the way it was.

MUSIC : Well, I heard the same track being played from My Hero so- welp. Other than that, I didn't actually mind the music. It sounded decent enough. It wasn't anything to make me go crazy about it or anything of the sort.

REWATCH VALUE : Yes. I definitely see myself coming back to this drama. It's really worth the first watch so why not the second? In fact, I'd probably rewatch the whole HIStory series during a movie marathon one night.

*recommendations*
Literally, the rest of the HIStory dramas. You have to watch them. Especially 'Crossing the Line' and 'Trapped'. They've been rated the best ones out of the whole lot too and it's really no surprise why.

The series is soooo....... tasty ?

I m sorry if I right something wrong ..bcoz i don't know that much to write a review i will just share my experience with the series..
I know this series is old but I highly recommend ....it just fullfilled the title of the series i.e "obsessed"....I love all the character but Jiang jin teng is my favourite...his acting, dialogue delivering was just perfect ....the drawback about. story is short ...I want to about more about his family or him .....
My favourite dialogue:-
1. "I got the feelings"-JJT
"what feelings?-JJT friend
"He(SYC) should be mine..only mine"-JJT
2. "You should only love me...."-JJT

And the romantic scenes are jussttt so hot🔥😅..
But in real life ....this obsession will lead person to the jail🤣🤣..overall the series is one of my fav .....and I highly recommend to all the beginners as well advance bl fans to watch or re-watch it♥️

Intense

It is very intense and full of assault, violence, deceit, and passiveness, closely bordering on abuse. I for one did not see this as others saw it. Yes, there is violence but not abuse. It seems either the positive path or negative path, it will lead to the same outcome. While it seems destiny is written, there are clues that somehow things are different and the story is not the same, even though the path might be the same. Yes, I do understand why some disliked this series as it is driven by a person’s irrational and negative obsession for another. BUT, that person is not totally powerless to stop it. He just cannot. It may not be the story of redemption that is based on a path of understanding, but it is one based on great pain, wrongs, and toxic behaviors. I thought it was raw, intense, painful to watch, and in every sense of the word, real. Some relationships are based on emotionally painful and toxic journeys before a deeper appreciation and understanding of each other can be attained.

My opinion about storyline

Amazing. I am shocked. The acting, the story. 4 episodes and my mind is going to explode.
Nothing bad there. You just have to be open minded. These guys want each other so much. And shao was trying to stay away from jiang, to give another chance in himself. It doesn't mean that he doesn't want jiang, or that he is having bad moments (sorry if I didn't write the names properly!)
In the end, I have to tell that they have Passion. And definitely both learned from their mistakes haha!! Enjoy!

CONFLICTED

It's interesting. In some places I saw high praises of this drama so I decided to watch it. And honestly, it wasn't that bad. But when I came here to read the reviews, seeing people hate this so much is actually making me question myself. Was it wrong to not hate it? Well- No. Here's my opinion. Initially, as the series started I hated Jian Teng because we all know he cheated his boyfriend after 9 years. He was a douche bag . I felt sorry for Yi Chen, because I could feel his pain. He did like Jian Teng. He still liked him even though he knew he died because of him. But, he was trying hard to ignore his feelings and ignore him so that he doesn't have to face similar situations again in this new life. Jian Teng was obsessive. He wanted to have Yi Chen all for himself. He was even violent and tried to sexually assault him. But this I don't hate it as much as most ppl here . Why? Because it's not like Yi Chen hated him. He was scared and angry and was trying to avoid him. Anyways, I agree it's wrong. But, when Jian Teng actually risked his life to save him, my opinion changed. Can people who are only obsessed but not in love, jump to save someone at the risk of their own life? Idk. Then he played amnesiac. Ppl are saying he played with Yi Chen to gain his sympathy. But, we saw how devasted Yi Chen was when Jian Teng was injured and hospitalized. He obviously still loved him. He didn't leave his side until he came to his senses. I don't think Yi Chen would stop caring for him even if he didn't play amnesiac. Then towards the end when he Jian Teng forces himself on him once again while claiming Yi Chen to be his, Yi Chen says that says that he knows he played amnesiac bcz he was scared that he doesn't like him. ( But that wasn't the case because he loves him regardless). Some ppl says it's only obsession on Jian Teng's side. I don't agree. Yeah it did start with obsession but he eventually did fall in love. And let's be real. In his previous life they were in a relationship for 9 years! Do you really think it's possible to be in a relationship for 9 whole years without actually being in love? Only with obsession? At the end we see that it was a misunderstanding. He was just putting on an act to prevent his parents from bullying Yi. However, this part of the plot was kinda unsatisfactory. (I mean why do they have to hide such things from their partner and hurt them instead of solving it together?) And some people said he didn't learn his lesson even after dying. I don't agree. He did learn. This were different this time. Jian Teng save him twice. And at last Yi says, " Whether it's now or in future, I am going to live for myself". This was the biggest lesson. Unlike his previous self who was weak and lived for Jian Teng and his love, this time he would be more rational and stronger and do what's good for himself. So overall, I liked the story. And let's be real. Is there any form of love/relationship that doesn't have even a slightest bit of toxicity? Is there any sort of love/attachment that doesn't come with pain? No right. Even if it's a planktonic relationship, it might still be toxic and hurtful.

Authenticy

Well, there is a lot of lacking here to begin with.
Story, characters and story plot is a bit mumbo jumbo all over the place.

Then again, we have the actors and characters indivually bashness that I find pleasant.
It's about possessive rough love and a whole bunch of cliche's.

Kissing scenes and ^^ are worth a at least a 9 in rating but situation around it a worthy 2.
I mean..the whole assault in the tent was just a joke.
Gay men assaulting in the middle of the day, in a campsite with others and NO ONE reacting..well..naaaaah.

Some plot twists were fun in the last episode, which made a good ending.

In my opinion, not one of the seven series of the HIStory project so far deserves a below-average rating. This is the case with this series from 2017.
Ecstasy described it well - "confusion", and it accompanied me not only at the beginning, but practically the whole time, and when it started to fit together, it fit so many times that I had this imaginary story completely turned upside down, but in the end everything came together, as it should
Otherwise, I will correct that the two main characters were not just "boys from Taiwan". Jin Teng, he was the one who latched on to Yi Chen with such vigor that I was afraid that he would bite off half his head when kissing him, he is from Malaysia (actor Bernard He). Both actors, especially the Malaysian Bernard, were not at all afraid to convince the audience that kissing and physical contact are not a problem for them, unlike in many other films and series, when the actors "play" these scenes "shielding", aloof, from each other, like machines , sleepwalking ... and that's why I give the acting an eight.
In the evaluation, I deducted points from the story for the mentioned great confusion and for the sound, even though it was already much better than in the first series of My Hero (the music didn't scream as much here and maybe only one song didn't fit the story).
