Crying

The last 5 minutes of this episode really brought it. There was a moment earlier in the episode where Kang Yoon-Hee was about to confess to Park Dong-Hun, but he was distracted by the soccer game. Man. I'm glad at the end the show gave the audience the scene after all. It was just heartbreaking all around. From Kang Yoon-Hee not being able to hold in her guilt anymore, to Dong-Hun finally bursting out his emotions that were pent up and buried inside, to Lee Ji-An reacting to it all. It also cut to Dong-Hun playing soccer the next day as a means of escape. It was all done so well. This episode also included the powerful monologue from Dong-Hun refusing to give in to the scenario of firing Lee Ji-An. He finally makes a stand to not make things awkward with others and be disingenuous even if it would save his reputation. He doesn't want to lie anymore. Lee Ji-An gave him the logical way out by sacrificing herself, but I believe Dong-Hun recognized that sacrificing oneself for the sake of suffering is not a way to live. He learned that from his monk friend, Monk Gyeomduk - which was a much needed retreat to collect his thoughts and gain new perspective. The only thing I wished was for Dong-Hun to have directly apologized to Lee Ji-An for hitting her - that would have made this monologue complete for me. I hope there is a way for him to eventually apologize later in the seasons. This is the turning episode where Dong-Hun finally takes agency over his life. It shows even in standing up to CEO Do Jun-Yeong. That was so cathartic as a viewer! Instead of just idly passively letting his life pass by, Dong-Hun learns that this isn't what he would want for his kid, Ji-Suk. In the end, I hope there is reconciliation between Dong-Hun and Yoon-Hee. I think the show is going the route of friendship between Dong-Hun and Ji-An - revealed by how Ji-An described him as a good friend, and in the monologue where Dong-Hun says he wishes years from now they'll see each other, and instead of pretending the other doesn't exist, that they can smile at one another as friends.I think this is a smart direction for the show to take this dynamic - not everything has to end in romance - if anything this shows that these two main leads have similar stories and help support one another as deep, platonic friends knowing they understand each other well.I recognize the wire-tap convention is not clean-cut morally, and the story needs to have Ji-An up to speed with what's happening, so that's one of the last barriers that I hope they address in the show, and not just pretend Ji-An is scott-free of wrong in terms of her relationship with Dong-Hun.

This was an episode of reflection. Of how people act and who is really happy. Dong Hoon believes his whole life has been a sacrifice. His monk friend even telling him that by doing this he is the brother that causes his mother to worry and feel pain the most. His monk friend to guides him in realizing that Dong Hoon needs to live, be selfish, and not treat his life like some sacrifice. To live how he wants his son to life, not to suffer. All the while we see that maybe his monk friend isn't happy. The bar gal and him had ties, and clearly his life choices led to them both being unhappy.

It's interesting to see how the powerful people liked how nice and caring, or "perfect", Dong Hoon was. Until it might create a scandal. They can't truly see how anyone can be kind. That only greed and desire is behind every motive. An issue that Joon Yeong has. It's funny to see both sides having that in common.

Dong Hoon's wife wants to be caught. She tries to tell him, and even the key card to the hotel was left to fall out in front of him. When she finally says sorry it all becomes real. Dong Hoon's pain that of all the people it had to be Joon Yeong. I have to agree. She had admitted early she knew what kind of person he was before. She felt shame after because of the type of person he was. She had to know that Joon Yeong desired her. Even if she was to dense to realize it was because Joon Yeong was jealous of Dong Hoon. Dong Hoon's words that she had basically said "he was dead" by having that affair was true. She was willing to not only divorce him, but conspire to ruin this life to benefit the main she was cheating on him with. A man she knew he despised.

Change is coming. Dong Hoon threw that punch and confrontation out there and I hope he has a plan. Clearly he still wants some kind of contact with Ji An. I just have a feeling neither of them truly has a grand plan. It's weird that I don't full trust what Ji An will do. She's a good person and I fee like she was just testing the waters saying she'd drug and sleep with Dong Hoon. Maybe she recorded it? That's assuming there's a grand plan again.

Yes!!! Gi Hoon ran to Yoo Ra! Only to clean up her vomit and find her all wrinkled up again. He even confessed to loving her. Which gets no reaction. I wonder if she remembers it? I'm sure she does. At least she shows up at the bar. I'm a bit nervous about where everyone is gonna end up in this drama.
