this is exactly my type stories~ in some sense it might be a little too silly and comedic, but the movie never took itself too seriously, and the comedy sense was perfect for me~ (that camera guy scene was super ridiculous and hilarious ;p)

I want to compare it to Midnight Runners, both have leads that are not taken seriously by their colleagues, and they end up uncovering a big case.. and maybe a little to No Mercy, it's rare to have a female centered plot, especially a crime genre, but they were not the over the top "1 woman vr 100 men" like NM and they were able to keep a great balance...
the case itself is more "real" and current events than the usual human trafficking that most crime garners go for.. its really was heartbreaking...

there's nothing wrong with a light female power crime story, if anything we need more stories like this.. I also really liked the characters ;)

My MDL buddy and I tandem watched this one. We both enjoy the main leads - Ra Mi Ran and Lee Sung Kyung and we agreed that it looked like it would be a good watch - we were not disappointed!
This was a very fast paced comedy with non-stop action. It really seemed like the movie just flew by. There was lots of physical and verbal comedy and it was nice to see an action movie with female leads. They both kicked butt in this movie! The plot isn't too "deep" even though the case is pretty serious (and very relevant considering the high profile cases that have occurred in SK in this past year). If you like buddy action comedies, I think you would enjoy this one.

RMR and LSK are both at the top of their game, eliciting many laughs and "OH DANG!" moments. Yoon Sang Hyun had a smaller, but no less comedic role as the husband/brother of the main pair. He had the knack for being totally useless to his family, but still essentially helpful at the same time.

This movie has some hilarious (and often very inappropriate! LOL) lines, and we just had a fun time watching it!
I will have to say that this movie deals with a pretty serious subject in reference to the case they are trying to solve, and it did invoke the feeling that women's issues aren't taken that serious in SK. Although, this movie shows that the heroines overcome this obstacle spectacularly. I would like to hope that the way they portray the treatment of women is just the stuff of movies, but I have a feeling it's got more than a little basis in fact. Regardless, it was great entertainment, and therefore I will give it a good recommendation! It's even better with a friend. :)

I guess after midnight runners, I was expecting too much out of girl cops.

The movie had a strong cast, with two strong female leads that had nice chemistry. They delivered both on the emotional level and on the action level, which was probably the best part of the movie.

However, the plot, although it seemed strong at first, it was not presented well enough. That felt like they were degrading the whole mystery and crime case to a more simple one when it wasn't.

So, overall, four out of ten.

This is probably one of the worst Korean movies I've seen. It feels like the production is rushed, and it looks like a TV series episode (a low budget one).

The story is bland. A great movie has to have subplots, but this one is so simple, it can be told in 20 minutes. There were so many holes in this movie, and there are scenes that are not supposed to be funny, but you'll chuckle out of disappointment.

I wasn't sold on how Mrs. Cop was still that strong and agile in 2018 as she was in 2002. In the present, she only had a desk job and complained about balancing work with motherhood. One of the thugs even asked her if she lifts weights because she's surprisingly strong. A scene in their house shows a stressful environment, so it's just not believable.

The acting of both leads is ok, but there was no chemistry as in they don't compliment each other. The brother's acting is lazy. I know he's supposed to be "slow", and that trait is also supposed to be comedic and adorable, but he achieved neither.

The editing is terrible. Plenty of mistimed and unneeded cuts and poor camera angles. The mall scene is a testament to this.

I feel scammed by its 8.1 rating (as of writing), so I now have trust issues picking out a movie on this site without reading the reviews first. I will definitely never rewatch and won't recommend this to anyone.

So I must confess that I didn't even watch the trailer of this movie until AFTER watching the movie; the synopsis was interesting enough to convince me to watch it without needing to watch the trailer! Watching the trailer now, it truly is a great representation of the overall movie - it's fast paced, action packed, and funny! Miss & Mrs. Cop is so funny! And so inappropriate! But so funny!

This movie focuses on a particular group of female victims who have been drugged, raped, and video taped, to be broadcast on the internet so that the assailants can gain illicit drug-interested customers. Our 2 main leads fight these horrific crimes head-on and they absolutely kick ass. It was really nice to see 2 main leads who are both female team up, and then they are triumphant in their endeavors in the end. Very refreshing to witness such kick ass female characters who are also funny in such a fast paced, action packed movie.

Now, as it can be seen across numerous societies around the world, crimes against women tend to be brushed off and minimized, which is depicted here by the peers/coworkers of the 2 MCs. But thankfully, with their persistence (and expressed disgust/outrage), the MCs remind their peers of their responsibilities to do their job with diligence. I appreciate how this movie acknowledged the biases against women and therefore acknowledging, the impacts on women when they are threatened, violated, and/or assaulted. The resolution to the story was impeccably satisfying and full-circle.

I would highly recommend this K-movie and definitely watch it again in the future!

This is the best movie I've seen in the last 3 years.

The story manages to balance out a serious topic whilst including enough humour to make the movie enjoyable and easy to digest. It was excellent seeing current issues faced by women brought to light but also getting to see women fight back in a variety of ways, also including enjoyable fight scenes with badass women showing their power. The humour was funny and well timed and there was plenty of it to make for great viewing and doesn't drown you in the serious topic undertones.

The cast is excellent. Perfectly acted emotions and humour really bring out the enjoyment of the movie. Refreshing to see two talented female leads who don't have to serve as a means to prop up male co-stars. They show excellent chemistry and portray a fantastic "sismance" which is fun to watch.

The music was chosen wisely and served to enhance the scenes rather than distract.

While there are similarities to movies like Midnight Runners, if you approach it with a fresh mindset rather than comparing it, letting it be it's own movie, then you'll find it more enjoyable.

Perfect Cop Comedy!

I absolutely love movies like this! This kinda humour is my kinda humour, silly (but not ridiculous), and light-hearted, but not at all taking away from the serious message of the movie, nor the fast-paced action. The two leads had THE BEST chemistry, I loved their strong characters and their acting was on point. Their awkward pauses and how they switch up when hiding things from their superiors was hilarious and I laughed every time. For those who have watched Midnight Runners, I definitely recommend you watch this movie! And if you enjoyed this movie and haven't watched Midnight Runners yet, WATCH IT!!!

My motion graphics lecturers would cry tears of joy at that ending ngl

Honestly I'm glad I'm close to ending this year with one of the best films I've ever watched.

It's a feelgood movie with the right amount of comedy that's executed pretty well. Just when I thought the humour would peak at the "Guy comes out of elevator door and bends over and drops everything he has" (if you've watched, you know what I mean) scene, there were more funny scenes.

It's not just all comedy though, and when it's supposed to be serious it really does succeed at being poignant and serious about the subject matter. With the context of the sexism that still exists in Korean society(to my knowledge) and in general when it comes to workplaces in Asia, the movie's backstories and motivations for the two protagonists made sense thematically and didn't feel too preachy. Acting from the leads and supporting cast was superb, and I really enjoyed their chemistry!

I guess it just...made sense? Characters that seemed irritating at first grow and change throughout which was really nice to see. The plot isn't some meditative philosophical focus on the topic, it manages to get the point across and address its issue while remaining pretty respectful, which I enjoy.

It's also why I mentioned this is a good feelgood movie if you just want to see good triumphing over shitty people - because c'mon, we all need that shit in our lives every now and then. At least, I do. Sometimes I just want something that's funny and action-packed with the most "cliche" trope of good being pitted against all sorts of bad, because it's a reliable feelgood type of thing.

The motion graphics near the end was fascinating as well, and the VFX throughout the movie.

One of my only complaints is that the camera work can be very wonky and disorienting, especially near the end. But it's not THAT horrible, so it doesn't change my opinion of the movie much, if at all. Furthermore, though this may be on Netflix's end, the translation is confusing when it comes to the introducing of Ji Chul and how he relates to the two protagonists. I could never figure out if he's a brother-in-law, if Ji Hye is his wife, if Mi Young is HIS wife, and other such stuff. Though looking at the cast it seems clear who's related to who because of the names...? Kind of? It's quite confusing. But again, probably just a Netflix translation error and not the script's fault, who knows. It's a small gripe anyway.

Overall, I really enjoyed this! I wish there was more to the OST though, and as I mention that I realise I don't remember any music that struck me as anything during the movie(usually I notice instrumentals playing), though vague recollections of one instrumental that compliments one of the action scenes decently enough. More care could've been put into the OST, but it's not something that drags the movie down in my opinion. The theme song bangs too. :)

Brilliant cast executing a fun, oftentimes hilarious showing of girl power

Two words: GIRL POWER! Okay, so onto a review of sorts which I think probably seems more like a rabid fan name dropping idols they have crushes on-oh well, so be it!

I have been waiting to see this since eons ago when they first cast Ra Mi Ran (a personal superhero to me, brilliant, funny, able to make me cry with joy and anguish and anger and from laughing too hard, great no matter the role, always genuine and with expressions that show how invested she is in every role, a superb mentor to her younger starlets in training, a lovely warm and sweet human who especially brings out the importance of family, biological and more than that the chosen family you make as adults or even in youth, in roles no matter her job, social status, etc in the role... she is such a team player that I seriously haven't seen ANYONE she has poor chemistry with! She's just so beautiful everyone loves her with great reason!). I am so happy I finally got to watch it. She is so badass here whether sporting a leather jacket or Hawaiian shirt or denim. The hacker ace role really was, somewhat surprisingly, well-suited for Sooyoung, much moreso than others I've seen her in. I also liked seeing Lee Sung Kyung in a role that has no reliance, momentary time at a club for folks under 30 aside, on beauty which she has plenty of. I would ADORE having a drama series made from this. 16-24 hours of badass ladies supported by guys? YES PLEASE! ALWAYS YES! It doesn't hurt that one of my favorite ahjussis finally came in albeit for such a brief moment to stand behind his true cop kiddo! <3 Sung Dong Il always rocks, even when he plays characters I momentarily want to castrate! Thankfully, this brief cameo did not kick in that feeling at all!

After him playing the angsty but awkward and tender/sensitive design artist in Romance is a Bonus Book (and his roles in Matrimonial Chaos alongside Bae Doona, Jung Hae In's pal turned bro in law in Pretty Noona etc), Wi Ha Joon kind of startled me-well, REALLY startled me. Oof, those punches and kicks just aren't so like his image elsewhere-movies let them really go to other worlds, and his cursing was so natural!! Yikes! :) O_O After he was the American named Michelin chef with the injured hand in Best Chicken, I came to like the guy who plays chemical wizard for illicit drugs Philip, too (though I didn't realize he was quite this tall or lean-he's 6'2" apparently, same height as Jang Ki Yong). I also spotted a fellow costar from Miracle We Met and more recently the cute Song___ (not sure his full name-the Thai guy) in Fiery Priest! From Class of Lies we have the Lee Tae Seok fellow even looking for fame and status here, tisk tisk, but this one comes around and at least helps do real work if minimally lol! The maknae on that squad was a twin in Sky Castle, is in Arthdal Chronicles, and played the young version of the prosecutor bro in Psychometric and I think the young Jang Hyuk, too, in Money Flower, though I'm not sure and don't know his name off hand-there's no shortage of cuteness here, weird as it is to say about cops and drug dealers! Anyone watching Moment of 18 (M-T adorable first love high school drama w/Hyangi) will recognize the well-humored though somewhat taunting math wizard and track star oughttabe character Sang Hoon, too, as one of the four drug dealers, the one I think coordinating the distribution of illegally acquired sex tapes, and last but not, not ever, least... OUR GRIM REAPER from Hotel Del Luna! I was all kinds of sentimental even though he is quite a louse in this one!

All to say I was totally in love if only because it was like the stars aligned so brilliantly and brought together all sorts of people I have enjoyed recently (even if some like the status seeking cop/Lee Tae Seok one I enjoy disliking!)-to see such a cast is a total feast for my eyes, even if only briefly. Can't forget Yoon Sang Hyun, of course, not after Shopping King Louis, Miss Perfect, OSKA in Secret Garden, I Hear Your Voice, and even Gap Dong and Mrs Temper from a while back-he's a bit typecast for these dopey roles, but he's definitely good at them! Still, his roles in Shopping King Louis and Secret Garden are my faves for him.

Admittedly, this might not have much rewatch value since it's not especially complex or anything-you can watch casually and grasp everything the first time around, so it's not a mental maze to navigate by any shot (nor is it trying to be), but it is super fun. If I feel really stressed and feel like I need to throw or hit something, I can just replay the showcase of girl power in this and let them further damage the already lacking brain function of their brother-husband who gets a bit battered in his efforts to be useful! Prepare to laugh and smile A LOT. It is quite the riot and such a welcome respite for a weary day.

Girl Power! Justice!

I may be biased toward Bok Joo - ya, but this is my cup of tea. Girl power for the win: Lee Sung-kyung, Ra Mi-Ran, Choi Soo-Young, Yeom Hye-Ran, etc. This movie is a complete package. It has depth, humor and more than enough action to keep you watching.

It is really sad how raping someone is being downplayed everywhere. It is always power play. Why is always the victims fault? They are the ones who suffered and is suffering. Nobody can tell what they feel unless being in the same position as them. That's why LSK's monologue, about why did they wanted to be in the police industry, gave me a lot of feels. She was there in the victim's position albeit not being fully violated.

I get a lot of mixed emotions while watching scenes where there's rape, domestic violence or any struggles just by being a woman. Why is it our fault? Why is it that we are the ones who should have done this or done that? Why do others have lots of excuses. Ugh. I know this is a never-ending debate but us girls will never stop speaking for those who are silenced by these kinds of issues.

Sorry, I just had to get some out of my system before watching another movie or series. :)

When women come to fight for women

Women are clumsy, bad drivers, physically weak, and many other things the world says. But it isn’t correct because NOT ALL WOMEN are these because there are women who had proven it wrong.

STORY -
This movie is led by a married and unmarried cop summing up as MISS & MRS COP. The scripting is done really well and fast-paced with a pinch of light humor. It is based on one case where women are drugged and filmed during rape. When a victim comes for a complaint and commits suicide, The two cops take it upon themselves to find out what happened. As the chase for baddies begins it gets beyond my expectations. The patriarchal society where male cops are celebrating their success doesn’t give any support to the female cops, forget the support they are fired. But as they are running out of time they still go after baddies without caring for themselves and fight them eventually catching them after a rigorous chase and fight.

the movie focuses on women but didn't put them like a MEN FIGHTING 5O which is so unrealistic. it is kept simple with a few shitty young men. And an innocent husband who tries to help despite being weak. it has a contrast of strong men who can't fight and physically weak women who can.

ACTING -
Ra Mi Ran (Park Mi Yeong) and Lee Sung Kyung (Jo Ji Hye) chasing and fighting the gang are WOW. Though they get exhausted and hurt they continue to take down the leader. LSK has a lean body and she really really suits the character who seems weak but has a lot of passion towards justice. RMR playing a middle-aged who has put on some weight after marriage suits well. Hawaiian shirts looked sassy on both.
Wi Ha Joon has wicked charm as the villain perfect fit with that blazing eyes and curvy smile.

APPRECIATION -
The action sequence is shot exceptionally well. I just loved them. The ladies are not the strongest but have a warmth of women who feel the pain emotionally and fight for justice. All the women, the hacker, the head Officer were just awesome.

My favorite scene from the is the LSK walking in the club and having eye contact with WHJ. I couldn’t get enough of this scene. The silent, slow and upbeat music, that club lighting was awesome. That setting, LSK walking, and guys watching are the appreciation of aesthetics.

The way the creators wanted to combine the investigation and mystery with comedy reminds me of what was done in "Midnight Runners". Comparing the two films, I liked "Midnight Runners" more. It was a little bit more serious and the comedy was just an addition that didn't disturb. "Miss and Mrs Cops" for me is like a comedy with the addition of a serious investigation.

I know this movie is also a comedy. But it could be better balanced. The comedy bits were sometimes poor and as they dragged on throughout the movie, it felt like there were too many of them.

So of course your point of view depends on what you expect from the movie at the moment.
