The bedroom scenes (threesomes, stripping, and drunken sword fights) The cave scenes (bondage, more stripping, and more fighting with swords) The instrumental murder scenes (I think this one is self-explanatory)

I kind of feel the same way about your original question regarding good looking actors and BL subtext, so I understand where you're coming from here. Do you want to be stunned, or do you want to be amused? You can be both! It's up to you!

Truly, though, some of it is meant to be silly and cheesy as the tone of the original novel it is based on includes a fair amount of humor. What makes this particular show brilliant is that it expertly plucks at all the feelings on the emotional spectrum while engaging the audience in a story with themes that are very relevant to today's society despite taking place in a historical fantasy world. The charisma and chemistry from the lead actors certainly adds another layer to the reasons for the drama's popularity and high rating.
If you're really curious as to what makes this drama worth watching, then stick with it and discover for yourself. A heavy majority of those who complete it aren't disappointed - even when they start out skeptical about it.
That said, not everyone loves it, and that's okay. As long as you don't mention your not love of the drama on this page.

I know from experience that it takes a while. Okay, that's kind of a lie. I'm on my third re-watch and I still cry over the angsty scenes and my heart still flutters at moments between Lan Zhan and Wei Ying. I'm still not over it.
You should read the novel and then re-watch the show. It becomes even more amazing because you know what really happens.
The donghua is also amazing because it focuses more on the action and takes the battles to a bigger scale which can't be done as easily in the live-action.

I've watched this on Viki and Netflix - Netflix simplifies it to "I'm busy today. Excuse me." in both Spanish and English. On Viki - it says "I'm busy. I don't have time to hang out with you." and then he flies off.
I remember another translation (likely from one of the many crack videos or .gif compilations, I'm not sure which ) that did say something to the affect of "I don't have time to play with you right now" which seems to fit Wei Ying's personality and the situation more since he's impressed with Lan Zhan's skills, but he is preoccupied with finding his brother and sister. These are all subtle differences, but I do find them very interesting.
Yes. English would be my mother tongue. You can say "I'm occupied" and people would understand it as a person being busy - however, most people will use the phrase "I'm busy."
Languages are fascinating to me, so I'm sad that I only speak English fluently. I have learned a little bit here and there in a number of other languages though with Spanish being the most familiar to me.
I don't actually know any Chinese outside of the sort of things I pick up from dramas - like terms for master, young master, elder sister, shut up, kill him etc. LOL I just started learning on Duolingo for fun.
