lol I hated In Ha's character but I loved how she was performed.

You should watch Gunshi Kanbei, I can guarantee you'll enjoy it.

This drama was pretty cheesy, but sweet. The events, like the first family meeting and whatnot, and how wrong they went is pretty excessive. The usual tropes about the Mother-in-Law is also used. However what I enjoyed most is how the two families are portrayed, their differences and similarities, the way the parents treated each other and their children, it felt authentic to how families in Japan truly are.

I think I would've rated higher, but episode 9 kinda ruined my mood. That was one fight where I thought if something like that bothers them to the point of wanting to break up, they really shouldn't get married. I also didn't like the way they got back to each other. The whole episode was unrealistic.

The last episode though.. ♥ ♥ full of heart. It was emotionally strong.

So overall quite a nice watch. The last episode felt rushed though, I would've given it another 2 episodes to see the development of the family. Actually I would've made the events happening from episode 1 to 8 happen in 4-5 episodes and have all the rest about the family finding itself and growing.

As mentioned before, the best part of the drama is the family. It dissects the typical Japanese household and expose everything that is wrong with it, from fakeness to neglect, to living in a lie. It has a bit of Kazokugari (Family Hunt) and Yakou Kanransha (Ferris Wheel at Night). The tutor's backstory did not reinvent anything really, and his actions were too much of an overkill for my taste.

The acting of all the members of the family is flawless. I really enjoy Kamiki's character the most. He had a nice chemistry with both Sakurai Sho and Kutsuna Shiori. My favourite is when he's frustrated lol

Really enjoyed it, though it depressed me because I could understand what Shizuru was going through. You can have your home town in your heart, but it can still get claustrophobic at times.

I really enjoyed that movie. It was a nice change of pace. Such a huge cast but the most outstanding for me is, as always, Mitsushima Hikari! Toda Erika was well cast for the role as well, and Mr. nice guy Oizumi Yo.

I enjoyed the setting, and the theme here, women finding refuge, and getting their lives back, hence empowering them, in an era and setting that was against women. Some of them went through so much pain!

Hmm it's alright, but nothing outstanding. I don't know why I feel the obligation to watch all of Nagase Tomoya's dramas, and it doesn't take much time to watch, however if your list is full, then you cold let it go.

lol I can't add those I haven't seen :P I've seen Medaka though, pretty good drama overall.

Oh that one! I remember Femmedesneiges telling me about it. I didn't watch it yet but I think you're right, it is a very special type of teacher-school drama, and I'm 100% positive if I had seen it, it'd be on this list.

Realistic YES! I'm pretty confident with my taste XD well honestly speaking GTO can be considered cheesy but it's old school so the way it's done doesn't go overly cheesy ;)

Right now I'm marathoning some dramas that I wanted to watch last year, Misaeng is getting close in thelist. I trust that it's awesome I just need to start ;) I'll let you know when I start cuz, you know I can't keep it in and always have something to say about dramas I watch :P I'm just afraid Misaeng will remind me too much of my current life XD

Haha great minds think alike ;) I'm not surprised you agree with my selection :P I guess that's what I needed to clarify. What I meant by school dramas was Teacher centric dramas. Well dramas about people that happen to be in school usually use school as more of a setting, and nothing more.

I need to watch Queen's Classroom, so maybe I would've added it too if I've had watched it ;)

And Joe yes please do try to work your magic to have Akumu-Chan movie get subbed :D

YAY I love Hasegawa Hiroki too. He's very different here but I'm sure you'll like him. Make sure to let me know what you think of it when you watch ;)

It's the same for me Onizuka will always be Takashi Sorimachi for me. It's also the role I liked him most at. + the 90s had such a charm when it comes to dramas of that time.

His smile sure is alluring! I couldn't read the article earlier because I was in a hurry just read the titles. I love this guy way to much to just leave and not say something. This guy hasn't acted that much compared to others, but he sure knew how to make an impact on everything he does. I love the way you describe him in Six Flying Dragons. Sure it's a stellar cast, but none manages to overshadow him. And his eyes! Those eyes control my emotions.

As for Ex-Girlfriend Club, I think his character and his acting is what made it memorable for me. I didn't know him then and it was my first drama to watch him. I didn't see him as good looking right away but I really loved his easy going nature, his kindness and natural smile. I could see why he could have a relationship with all these women and be able to stay in their minds for long.

I didn't even know he was in Misaeng. It's another reason for me to hurry and watch it, but what's holding me back is how everyone calls it depressing. And that the first episode is both very depressing and too long...

Thanks Chris for this stalker guide, I also can't wait for what he has to offer later! I'm pretty sure his future is promising after his role in SDF ;)

I've seen Gomenne Seishun! I have to watch Queen's Classroom. This list is really just dramas that stood out for me AS School Dramas more than others. Akumu-chan has a special place in my heart for merging so many themes that I like and doing a good job at it. In the end I can pretty bias too. The only one I can say without bias that it's a must watch is Suzuki Sensei ;)

Gosh, I've seen him in Ex-GF club and Six Flying Dragons and completely in love with him. I hope to manage watching Incomplete Life soon.
