This was my first Ueno Juri experience and she was great as Nodame! She was funny, expressive in her emotions when needed and just an amazing actress in this. Tamaki Hiroshi as Chiaki was so good! He was the stuck up music man at first but he morphs into this character that you soon learn to love, even his prickly self. And let's not forget Koide Keisuke as Masumi! His constant antics to bloke everyone from his love, Chiaki was hysterical! Every time he is on the screen, you laugh, laugh laugh.
I have to applaud the writer and director for making this the first drama I've ever watched where the ending had NO FAULTS! NONE! I'll never forget the scenes when Chiaki meets the family. I'm still chuckling over those scenes! And boy, these two have some serious chemistry! Who else can make a back hug SO ADORABLE! 10's? I'd give this 20's for the music alone! Excellent drama! EXCELLENT!!

Life is full of sadness as well as joy. The one thing that the Japanese do very well with sad movies is making you feel okay at the end regardless of the outcome. The acting in this movie was phenomenal. Erika Toda as Natsuki was my reason for watching and she didn't disappoint. This was my first Wakaba Ryuya experience and as Dalki, he was amazing as the autistic brother. Kato Kazuki as Sou, I'd seen once before in Hotari but didn't realize it until the end.
All genres are not for everyone but if you are a movie connoisseur who loves a good love story regardless of the ending, this is the movie for you. One thing I took away from watching this: whatever life has in store for you, live it to the fullest; don't give up and live for those around you who love you. That is the lesson Sou taught me and that is a reason to watch this. Excellent movie.

Funny as hell!! Who would ever thought I'd sit here and watch a movie about a Japanese dude in an Afro. But this was hysterical! His voice-over conversations to himself were hilariously funny. The whole movie was funny! The train scenes, with the girl(s) in the short skirts? Too funny! You have to see this to believe it. No spoilers here. I guarantee you will be smiling at the end. Matsuda Shota, I love you!! Was this review helpful to you?
