I find it fascinating that Sou is supposed to be a cop from New York but born in Japan; however, every time he pulls out his weapon, he shoots EVERYONE! Not sure what the director/writer was trying to say, even though I might half agree, I think Sou’s portrayal is way excessive! Overall, it was a fun fare for anyone who likes Shun Oguri. Story wise, it was not a really great story. Even though it featured a different case about every episode, it did weave in Sou’s back story of trying to find the murderer of his father when he was younger. After eight episodes, I still hadn’t figured out why his father was killed in the first place. I think the writer could have done a better job in putting forth that information a little quicker so you, the viewer would care.

I think I got a kick out of the supporting characters more because they were silly and very colorful; especially Maruo (Mizushima Hiro) who was pretty ditzy to be a cop. I would kind of hate for him to be my backup as he tend to not be “with” it most of the time and would constantly argue with Sou about just everything. One thing I just couldn’t understand is how Yuki (Yoshitaka Yuriko) could be Jinno, (Sou’s father killer) girlfriend! I mean, what was she dating, a man her father’s age?

But Sou’s family were hilarious! His mother (Tanaka Yoshiko) always found the most inopportune moment to call him while he was on duty. Whether if he was on a stake-out; chasing a suspect or basically being shot at. She made it a point to shame him for complaining. But the one who cracked me up the most was Nakatani (Yoshimura Takuya). I have assume he was Sou’s sister, Karin (Kawaguchi Haruna) boyfriend. But he didn’t seem to have a home as he was forever over the Takakura home: day and night!

The romance between Keiichi (Katsuji Ryo) and Maki (Usuda Asami) was probably the most prominent romance; and they were barely on the screen! Truthfully, most Japanese dramas lack romance in my estimation but are usually better in the story development. This drama is definitely only for the hardcore, Shun Oguri fans. What it lacks in story and romance, it makes up for it with the action. Shun+Gun=Interesting!

Stunning! Absolutely stunning! A lover of the classics would find no fault in this drama at all. It was fun to watch, the music was sensational, and the acting was amazing!

This was my first Ueno Juri experience and she was great as Nodame! She was funny, expressive in her emotions when needed and just an amazing actress in this. Tamaki Hiroshi as Chiaki was so good! He was the stuck up music man at first but he morphs into this character that you soon learn to love, even his prickly self. And let's not forget Koide Keisuke as Masumi! His constant antics to bloke everyone from his love, Chiaki was hysterical! Every time he is on the screen, you laugh, laugh laugh.

I have to applaud the writer and director for making this the first drama I've ever watched where the ending had NO FAULTS! NONE! I'll never forget the scenes when Chiaki meets the family. I'm still chuckling over those scenes! And boy, these two have some serious chemistry! Who else can make a back hug SO ADORABLE! 10's? I'd give this 20's for the music alone! Excellent drama! EXCELLENT!!

Not your everyday movie, that's for sure. Its like a cross between the US movie My Girlfriend is an Ax Murderer and Black Widow. It had its entertaining moments as we watch a truly awkward guy fail for a girl that is totally different than him. He is a Professor and she is basically a con artist! Most of the time, its not a bad story and it definitely has its funny moments. Re-watch value? Once is definitely enough. The ending when he has to decide whether he loves her enough to forget her past is interesting. Overall, might be fun to watch for some.

Great movie regardless of the sad ending! Giving a movie a bad rating because it is not your cup of tea is not a rating. I generally don't rate sad movies for that reason but I have to balance out the other rating because it really does a disservice to the movie.

Life is full of sadness as well as joy. The one thing that the Japanese do very well with sad movies is making you feel okay at the end regardless of the outcome. The acting in this movie was phenomenal. Erika Toda as Natsuki was my reason for watching and she didn't disappoint. This was my first Wakaba Ryuya experience and as Dalki, he was amazing as the autistic brother. Kato Kazuki as Sou, I'd seen once before in Hotari but didn't realize it until the end.

All genres are not for everyone but if you are a movie connoisseur who loves a good love story regardless of the ending, this is the movie for you. One thing I took away from watching this: whatever life has in store for you, live it to the fullest; don't give up and live for those around you who love you. That is the lesson Sou taught me and that is a reason to watch this. Excellent movie.

Had no idea what the executed man had to do with it but the story was on the pursuit of the recipe and the woman who made it. If you didn't watch to the you, this story would have totally lost you. Had it started with the last 35 min when LDW came in, I might have liked it better because that is when it got interesting. The romance was very interesting and would have been better suited to begin the story and not shown at the very end. I wonder how many people dropped this before that point in the movie. It's amazing I stuck with it. If you have a dying interesting in one of the methods of making soybean paste, this might peak your interest; otherwise, I'd skip it.

Funny as hell!! Who would ever thought I'd sit here and watch a movie about a Japanese dude in an Afro. But this was hysterical! His voice-over conversations to himself were hilariously funny. The whole movie was funny! The train scenes, with the girl(s) in the short skirts? Too funny! You have to see this to believe it. No spoilers here. I guarantee you will be smiling at the end. Matsuda Shota, I love you!!

Yes, definitely a watch one time movie for me! But besides that, when is a movie with Kang Dong Won BAD?!! I've yet to encounter one. This told a story! It told a story of what can go wrong in life and those single moments of hope in life at the end. This wasn't really about redemption but more about recognizing that there is forgiveness. Kang Dong Won as Yun-Soo was flawless. He portrayed Yun-Soo as starting out, a angry and hurt young man facing death to a man who finally knew what love was again. Lee Na Young as Yun-Jung was marvelous! Simply marvelous! Nothing new that she had attempted suicide 3 times! But when you find out the reason later in the movie, it helps you to understand this tortured soul. But because these two were so mentally tortured, they truly were able to heal each other. As Yun-Soo says, to Sister Monica (played by my favorite actress, Yoon Yeo Jeong), you sent me an angel. Warning, this is not a movie for everyone but if you are a Kang Dong Won fan, this is a MUST-SEE.

One last thing, telling a prisoner that is about to face death that they have a visitor, not sure what to think about that. Maybe, it's the system's way to let them know what it feels like to suffer an unexpected death. What do you think?

This was a hard drama to rate. Why? Because I felt the main female should have just giving up and moved on! As this is a drama that infuses sport of boxing, I was willing to give it a try. The constant stalker behavior of the poor lead and her unrequited love was kind of sad. There is one point where an antagonistic female character really introduced a whole new leave of sleaze and those moments were really interesting as you wanted to see just how far she would go. I think Fukada Kyoko as Toki and her slightly screeching voice started to wear on me at times because I had to watch to see if they ever got together. Domoto Tsuyoshi as Yuri, I actually have no complaints. Overall, unless you are a fan of either, not sure I can consciously recommend this but if you like unconventional dramas, this one is for you. Not something I would watch again.

Talk about just four little episodes making a very special and powerful drama! As the first collaboration between Japan/Korea, it was very well done. Very well done. I fell in love with both characters of Ji Hoon and Tomoko. Admittedly, this was not my first experience with the lead actress, Fukada Kyoko. She has a way of embodying her character so fully that you can't help but love her. And Woo Bin?!! Finally a drama of his that I could totally love!! His character Ji Hoon was so sweet and kind. Even the brief misunderstandings and interferences were tolerable but then that's the difference between watching JDrama and KDrama, these periods are not drawn out for a ridiculous amount of time. I have to say the chemistry between these two was electric!! And guess what I learned watching this? Lee Dong Gun can SING!!

This really started out fun to watch! The cinematography of it was stunning! And who is the costumer!? Whoever it was, they were willing to use some seriously bold colors! When I say Kang Ji Hwan in a neon yellow shirt, I almost had to put my sunglasses on. One of the things I liked about this better than Bridal Mask was the women characters were phenomenal. Cha Song Joo was what we wish Mok Dan had been; a badass, pistol-shooting, motorcycle riding independence fighter! I have to give props to Ryu Jin as Soo Hyun, he was outstanding! Han Go Eun as Song Joo, I'm so glad to FINALLY see you in a role where I liked your character!! Kang Ji Hwan and Han Ji Min were definitely good as the lovers you'd never expect to see together. And can I say I just love this OST?!!

Great movie! Very funny! But warning, unless you like horror, don't watch at night because there are some pretty scary scenes! 9 on the jump factor! Loved the characters and watched this simply because Lee Min Ki was in it! Loved the ending. Just wished the ending was subbed! I really want to know what the brother was saying. I caught a word here and there!

I was enthralled with the cinematography! The sword scenes were amazing and poetry by themselves. The sword play/tango was so sensual, it was unbelievable; Something you have never seen done before and probably will never see again. There was not one kiss in this movie but the love you could see and feel from beginning to end, A lot of people complained about the ending but it was fantastic and made perfect sense to me.

That was AWESOME!! Now, let me preface with the fact I NEVER watch horror. So if you don't like horror, I suggest you go running kicking and screaming from this series!! Wow! I just finished the last episode and my heart hasn't stopped pounding yet!! The first episode takes you right into the story. The thing with this drama special series, you have to watch from the beginning to end for the pieces to nicely fit together. Did I tell you I'm still scared?!! Amazingly filmed. 90% in the darken night or hospital rooms. This is not for the faint of heart!! Damn, did I tell you my heart is still beating?!! Yes, it's that scary. Only episodes to relax were ep 2 and parts of 3!! Otherwise, it is definitely a horrorfest!!

I'd re-watch for the music alone. It was fun. This is probably my second movie with Ha Jung Woo and he is pretty good. I have a bias about Gong Hyo Jin and I'll watch just about anything with her in it. This was fun and there were some pretty hysterical moments but the little video at the end, you get the joy of hearing Ha Jung Woo rap! It was great. If you have the time, check it out, it's worth the watch.

I also have never read the manga but let me say, without 10 minutes, I could not stop watching. The story was riveting. Beware, it can get a little gruesome at times. But I thouroughly enjoyed it. Ninomiya Kazunari, I had seen before in Ryusei no Kizuna before. Matsuyama Kenichi was in Norwegian Wood. So I was familiar with the lead males. The story does go quickly and a lot of details are shown so don't turn away for a minute. Some things are not explained but I guess that would be the disadvantage of not reading the manga. An interesting story for any Sci-Fi fan.
