A very detailed and strong article, as usual i would say, so thanks a lot! i'm currently watching this drama,…
sorry for the double post...
Moreover, i think the drama focuses more on the relationship between the four main girls and the way they deal with their current situation as well as their environment than on child's abuse in welfare homes. I cannot despise those grown ups characters, because, at least in my mind, and i'm probably wrong, they are depicted the way children could see them through their children's eyes. i can't help myself watching this drama as if I were one of those children in this house. don't know if it's the director intention or if i'm misunderstanding something on that point.

i don't find characters nicknames controversial at all. they give bad images of those children, but, well, we all know that children are barely friendly with others. In the drama the girls are using proudly those nicknames as a shield against adult's world. i find the image interesting.

i'm currently watching this drama, and I like it a lot.

I knew about the controversy, though not every detail, but I don't really understand why there is a controversy with this drama. yes, the welfare workers are not shown in a very pleasant way. yes, those children are pictured abused in so many ways. But as you underlined it, it's a fictionnal story and we are all (well, i guess almost all) aware of it being over exagereted. and societies don't make any progress in human rights by denying what is not working inside them. we cannot be stupid enough to believe this drama reflects the entire reality, but we cannot be stupid enough to deny that such abuse can happen.
Moreover, characters developments give us some clues about each one behaviour, letting us "understand" why they became like that.

hello! thanks for the request! I was a little surprised cause you're a kdrama watcher and i'm more a J-drama addict, but well... that's so entertaining to talk with MDLers. i'm also a bit talkative sometimes. I guess you speak french (cause of your name and of Nautiljon).
i would like to say Yoroshiku onegai shimasu in korean, but I don't know how.

thanks for the article§ that's good to have news about upcoming J-dramas! I'm planning to watch most of them (maybe not the special about Mori Mitsuko), or at least give them a try. There are actors I like in most of them so that could be a very good season! I will also add Ohno's Shinigami-kun.

you seem to be so sad about me not watching K-dramas, lol. it's not that I really any prejudice against korean dramas, i enjoyed the few i've seen. it's just that at first I was using J-dramas to learn the language (totally left down this idea, but i'm still watching dramas). Plus there are shorter than korean ones. I like to spend one week on a drama. I can do that with japanese ones, not with korean ones. and two weeks on a drama is too much for me. exceptions are on-going ones though. Korean and Japanese are totally different as you may know. if i want a real rom-com, i guess I would choose korean ones, there are better than Japanese ones (imo). it's just that I don't take the time to watch korean dramas, though some plots seem really interesting.
another reason is that i'm far more facinated by Japan, my favorite country so far.
By the way, i don't mind saying i'm 32 and a half!

Hello and thanks for the friend request.
Nice to meet other french people here. I'm far older than you and i'm amazed to see how you seem to feel at ease with English (i was unable to express myself as well as you do at the same age!)
i'm more into J-dramas, and I like Oguri as well (who doesn't?), even if not my favorite one.
Hope you have fun here. people are really nice (but not in a cheesy way).
feel free to ask anything. i'm a little bit talkative though...
A bientôt!

Hello!
hope you're doing well.
Thanks for your support, I really appreciate it.
btw, i found it easier at the moment to find arashi videos on YT, especially MVs that were delated in the middle of 2012. there are some shows, but not often subbed.
I'm looking forward to watching the end of Shitsuren chocolatier and comment it with you and other MDLer on the forum, that's really funny and heartwarming.
see you soon!

Hello!

Thanks for the request and sorry for the late answer.
Yamashita-san is one of my favorite (though i'm a little bit disappointed by his latest shows). He is awsome in Nobuta, which was also one of my first dramas. you've put Code Blue on hold: don't you like it? I like a lot Yamapi's character in it, though it's really different from him as Akira.
Btw, welcome to MDL. Hope you will have fun here, and you'll met lots of great friends. feel free to ask anything if needed.
yoroshiku onegai shimasu !

Hi guy! how are you?
new drama season in Japan means new choices to make : what to watch, what to let aside... Actually, it's more : what is available on streaming sites ? lol.
Apart complaining at work, and complaining about miss of subs, everything could be okay. Though I find it harder and harder to choose what to watch from completed dramas. My PtW list is growing bigger and bigger, and it's harder and harder to choose between them. all the more that most of older ones are not available on streaming sites. that's really frustrating!
well, it seems i'm complaining again...
What about you? I haven't seen you much on the feeds lately: are you too busy watching dramas? Your currently list is so big! i'm ashamed to say I haven't heard of some of them. Are there good ones you would recommend?
And what did you think of first epi of Lost Days?
sorry if it's too many questions !

(end of the post)
Well that's the first time I met someone whose life is like in a drama. Won't you find them boring?
More seriously, your story sounds heartbreaking,I can understand you had hard times. it seems mother in law tend to be difficult people to deal with. (that's maybe the good part of being single...)
Hope you really feel better now. At least you can come here anytime you want. MDLers are really helpful to cheer other up. at least, that's the way things are working for me.
It seems you like Shitsuren Chocolatier too, so i guess i will read you sometimes here and there on the forum. Oh, and i'm always okay to chat anytime.
see you soon!

Yeah, another Arashi fan! yoroshiku onegai shimasu!
how I understand you being mesmerized by Ohno in Maou... I wish I could have been the girl there, especially during that rainy scene, i fell for him at that moment.
it's frustrating to not find any MV (and i don't even ask subbed MVs) on the net anymore. When i discovered them, in the beginning of 2012, that was thanks to the MVs on YT (Believe, Monster...) that I started to like them, as well as watching their dramas. Now it's so hard to find their music and TV shows.
My English is not so great for someone who studied it 9 years at school. MDL is my best teacher though, and my dictionnary my best friend! and you're lucky to not listen to me!
(sorry, not enough remaining characters...)

konban wa!
i've discovered Arashi by chance in 2012 and they actually became the light in my boring everyday life. I think I cannot spend a day without listening to them (songs, dramas or interviews ). Do not worry about fangirling (at least with me), i've got the same feeling about that "happy aura": watching them makes me smile, watching their Tv Shows makes me laugh (even if I don't understand anything)...
concerning their dramas, older ones are the most difficult to find, especially since Mysoju and Dramacrazy shut down.
as for their TV shows, i'm only watching VSA (don't really like AnS). i've got a link to watch it (unsubbed), so if you're interested (and got a FB account) i could PM it to you.
Currently, i'm watching Shitsuren Chocolatier (Matsujun), Lost DAys, Ashita, Mama ga inai, Boku no Ita jikan (all currently airing) and Yasashii Jikan (Nino).
What do you think about S C ?

thanks for the article, that was what I needed atm!
Lost Days looks interesting (from what you say, the trailer is not so appealing) and I will watch Ashita, Mama ga inai for sure, as well as Shitsuren Chocolatier (fangirling only). and maybe will take a look at Miura's drama (if i find the courage for that kind of story) and some others. depending on what is subbed, of course.
Thanks for the trailers too!

Thanks Joe for the results and also the hard work.
At first I thought Hanzawa Naoki would have all the awards because of the so many good feedbacks i've read about it. i'm a little bit disappointed by the results (partly because i'm not really enthousiastic about Last Cinderella), even if I'm happy to see Kazoku Game in the 3rd place and enjoyed other winners.
Like someone previously said, considering the number of J-dramas seen this year by MDLers, results are a little bit biaised. I personnaly watched 13 J-dramas (+ 1 not completed yet) and 4 specials, and I thought while voting it was not enough to make an honest judgment. Nevertheless, that's an interesting poll.
For 2014, I don't think I will be able to watch so many currently airing dramas: there are too many oldies and also 2013 J-dramas i want to watch. Hope there will be some good gems in 2014 too.

Thanks a lot for putting those J-dramas in the highlights, i realize i've certainly missed lots of good ones. I've added many of them on my PTW list.
My favorite drama of the year was Kazoku Game, and I totally agree with you concerning Sakurai's performance.
