one of my (many) favorite japanese actor: o tanjoubi omedetou, Endo-san!
i like him being so natural in Dr Rintaro, so different frm the many characters, especially detectives, he has played before.
Thanks for your article! I have seen most of them and totally agree with your choices. Though Japanese dramas have often a comic side, it's difficult to find pure comedies. I can only second previous MDLers who recommended Yuusha Yoshihiko and Densha Otoko. I would also have had Kekkon dekinai Otoko (though i don't remember if it's a recent one or not).
adding Manhattan Love story to my PTW list and i'm looking forward to the next part.
Japan
A day in our life - Arashi (Kisarazu cat's Eye)
Ashita no kioku - Arashi (The quiz show 2) (i could have chosen countless other Arashi songs)
Seishun Amigo - Shuji to Akira (Nobuta wo Produce)
Ichibu no Zenbu - B'z (Buzzer Beat)
Wakamonotachi - Moriyama Naotarou (Wakamonotachi 2014)
it's really hard to pick up only five...
another bad news after Dramacrazy shut down, two years ago if i remember well. Gooddrama was also one of my favorite website to watch dramas. it will indeed become more and more difficult to watch dramas for those who are watching in streaming, as well old as new dramas. i'm afraid the remaining sites will follow the same way. We can indeed guess some legal issues are behind that. don't know if it comes from asian TV channels or from the new legal sites. At least if that comes from the later, they should open their sites to other geographical areas... and try to complete their catalog, if I understand you well, my dear fellows. This is really frustrating!
Though the story didn't attract me that much, i gave it a try because of the actors. first episode was good, but to be honest, it's only after the second episode i was totally hooked by the show. i think it's getting better and better. i'm totally fond of Ikuta's character, but what makes this show so intriguing, beside the mystery around Yuiko sensei's death, is probably the strong yet ambiguous bond between the two male leads.
Hope your article will give more people the will to watch that show. thanks.
What a disappointing result! Though I enjoyed Bitter Blood and liked Sato Takeru a lot, this drama absolutly doesn't deserve to win in those categories (maybe more suited to most overrated one...). I agree with many of previous MDLers: where are Wakamonotachi and Kazokugari?
Nevertheless, thank you MDL staff for proposing once again this year such a poll. Otsukare sama deshita!

My first Asian drama ever, I was around 6-8 y-old when it was broadcast in the late 80s in my country. So many good memories while playing with my friends. thanks for adding it to the database.
Really enjoyed this season too, That's maybe because imo, the second roles are the main interest of this show. and now i can't wait for the next movie!!!
thanks a lot for the news! Your recommendations are always appreciated.
i'm planning to watch Kazokugari, Wakamono Tachi and Hero season 2. will also give a try to Sailor Fuku to Uchuujin.
Thanks a lot for this guide. i've heard many MDLers praising him and just saw him in Alice no Toge (that I really enjoyed, and his character as well). I didn't know what to watch next with him, so your guide will be of great help.
and ah! his second son is born around april!.
Otsukare-sama deshita! thanks a lot for your hard work, dear MDL team!
you've managed to make this beloved shelter an even warmer place, i cannot express my gratitude for that. still need to explore all the possibilities of the new version, but I'm already loving the new feeds and i'm enjoying creating new lists!
i wish I could be a student once again!
Fangirling put aside, I think that would be a very interesting way to understand the current Japanese society (or at least a part of this society). I'm in if there is online courses (but I doubt).
Does anyone know the name of the song at the end of each episode?
Thanks in advance.

Hello!
I don't really understand what the characters are saying, i'm not fluent in Japanese at all. Pictures give me some hunt, but I realise when i'm watching the same episode with subs i've missed lots of things? Some jokes, and mostly the characters feelings when they try to express it by words. But what I like with watching dramas without subs is that I can take a better look at the scenes and at the actors facial expressions. I think that with subs, i'm missing about the third of the drama in order to read them.
Daydreaming about drama: lol. i'm sometimes doing it too, and yes, i'm trying to do it in Japanese. That's when I realise i don't really know a lot of words.
Shinigami-kun is okay. I hope it will improve a little bit, but I don't have much expectations about it anymore. i'm just watching him for Ohno-san.
May I ask you your occupation since you said you are quite busy?

Hello!
Yes, I'm currently watching Yowakutemo katemasu, and i also like it a lot. To be true, I thought the first episode was so-so. I mean, like most of sports dramas and school dramas, the usual issues regarding high school students, and the teacher who came to save them. But i'm okay if things stay as they are, cause I enjoy this kind of stories. The second episode was better imo (or i enjoyed it better). I'm watching them without subs at first (and i don't understand much but that's not a problem), so i laughed a lot when I re-wacthed it subbed. I start to really like Ninomiya's character, he is the best to play that kind of character that want to be cool but isn't really and then decides that it's okay that way. Anime-like, as you said.
And i'm totally addicted to GUTS (ost)
