Just voted for half of the categories, haven't seen enough 2013 dramas to answer to all of them. Best drama : Kazoku Game, partly because i was fooled by the story and the acting in this drama (Arashi bias), partly because I haven't seen some of other dramas really appreciated even if underrated here (Hanzawa Naoki ahead). So it was most my fav dramas than the real best ones.
I don't understand why so many people complain about romance dramas to be so highly rated. Even if I do agree about them not being the best, it was to be expected, and just reflects what MDLers are watching.

Hi Pretty! Nice to read you!
Do not feel bad, i can fully understand how hard it is when you're busy at work (and I think i'm working less than you). And i do not know how you can manage to balance all your activities in 24hrs. Hope you haven't lost all your works or precious files in the blue screen incident.
You should not take that answer as any kind of obligation (but I would be very happy to read you). I mean, there are enough stress and pressure at work to not add others in this website relationships. We're all coming here when we have time and when we are in the mood. It's the same when chating with someone. Plus, as you said, we're meeting lots of people, and there's not enough time in a day for every one of them, though we're sharing so many things. Loosing sight with someone then meeting again thanks to a drama is what I like here.
So keep up the hard work and see you soon!

Hello Pretty! How are you?
For several weeks now i'm wondering if I should make you a suggestion of drama. Maybe, probably, MDLers have already recommended you Dokushin Kizoku. Really my coup de coeur (can we say it in English?) and the very good surprise of this current Japanese drama season. I know it doesn't really fit your criteria about dramas, but everytime i'm watching it, i can't help wondering how you would find it. of course, because it uses the cinema and all the atmosphere of classical movies as background (ok it's really in the background). my knowledges about cinematography are pretty slim, so i'm missing lots of references, but for someone like you that might be really enjoyable (or not). if you want to give it a try, maybe you should watch at least 2 or 3 episodes. i've found in this drama one of my most favorite characters.
See you soon. And figthing spirit!

hello! thanks for the friend's request. I also adore Japanese dramas.
I'm so happy to meet another Arashi fan. Have you ever been to any one of their concert? I wish I could, that seems totally amazing. My favorites are Sakurai-san and Ohno-san, but they are all so cute!
you're here for several months now, hope you have fun there, there are so many nice people. Feel free to chat anytime!

hello! sorry for the very very late reply.
thanks for the Nusantara explanation, i made some quick research about it. Drama's addiction always give us an occasion to learn a lot about non drama related stuffs!
Hope you're fine (i've seen you were logged, so i'wasn't too worried)
About Kirishima, I agree with you. Though I was a little bit lost at first, I really enjoyed the way the movie was cut, and I spent the whole time wondering : who's that kirishima guy? What has he done? I liked the way the movie has depicted the japanese school society and its bad points (at least that's what i've seen in it, though there were certainly deeper meaning in that movie I didn't really get).
I don't know if J-dramas are declining in quality, i think some late works are pretty good. That's maybe because i don't watch them for so long (3 years) and was used to the bad quality of popular french series.

sorry for the late reply...
thanks. my first language is french, and i'm not sure you would say the same if you could hear me speaking english! How come foreigners speaking french with their foreign accent are absolutly cute, and french people speaking english with their french accent look absolutly stupid and awful?!
I laughed so much at the shut down confession! It seems I was more aware of what was happening in your country than you! That made me wonder if something like that could happen in my country. I guess I should go at work though.
You talked about people you know who are watching anime : have you recommended them some dramas? maybe someone can be hooked. Maybe a drama version of anime they had liked could be a good start.
but you know there are always many people on this website with whom you can share you drama's addiction! fighting spirit girl!

I learned English at school so it was not so difficult. And I can assure you it's easier to learn English than Japanese (though I found easier to pronounce Japanese than English). Plus if you're a working woman, it's all the more difficult to take time to learn Japanese, I think.
I understand what you mean about TV shows. I do feel the same. I also don't watch TV anymore, and barely take time to listen to the news (on radio mostly). so i'm feeling like an alien most of the time. At work, it's becoming more and more difficult to have a proper conversation with my colleagues, we have absolutly nothing in common. The dark side of any addiction : not being a part of the society anymore (at least that's the way I feel).

Konban wa! Nice new name!
I do understand your bitterness concerning the fact you cannot talk about J-dramas with your friends, as it's the same for me. That's also why MDL has taken a so big place in my heart and my life lately. don't know if you feel the same, it's not always easy to make "friends" online, but it's such a relief to be able to share your joys and frustrations concerning dramas with others, even if there are so far from you.
I was also hoping that J-dramas could help me improve my Japanese, but unfortunately it doesn't work. Glad it worked for you. Are you a student learning foreign languages, and especially Asian ones?
sorry for the messy post and my bad and poor english.
ah, and sorry for being late, but : Happy Birthday!

Konban wa!
thanks for the friend's request. Nice to meet you, man from... somewhere (sorry, don't know Nusantara. where is it?). You've qot quite a huge completed list for someone who joined a few months ago. when did you start watching asian dramas?
You seem to like Japanese dramas overall (how I understand you!) Amachan seems quite popular and you've rated it high, but in reading the summary, I'm starting to understand why...
Oh, and Kirishima... is on your favorite movie list!!! what did you thought of it (i found it quite disturbing at the beginning, but liked a lot the atmosphere of the drama and the whole story (if we can consider it really has a story))
sorry for my bad English.
Yoroshiku onegai shimasu!
I like Okada's character, not only because he is gorgous, as you said, but also because what it implies for Komikado sensei. I find this second season even better than the first one, and yes... More Sakai please!!!

ok, i swear it's the last one!
To conclude, yes, a 6 is "fine" and it also show how baffled i was left at the end of this "Fish story" (i cannot even remember how things end). the stroyline was certainly too complex for my simple mind. I usually enjoy dramas/movies with a more classical (or more simple, as you like) scenario.
to complete the disturbance, i will send a friend's request, i think talking to you could be funny! feel free to refuse (though I don't think this website offers this option).
