i quite enjoyed this. obviously you might read the plot and think "wow...only in japan" and you're totally right. only japan could pull off such a unique concept (of cis men getting pregnant) and make it into such a heartwarming social commentary about pregnancy difficulties, double standards, parenthood, etc. as always, japan has yet again excelled in a slice of life drama series. i just wish it could've been ever so slightly longer to explore deeper into these topics. a lot of them felt too glossed over and just...happened without any prior setup. but other than that little nitpick, it's an enjoyable watch.
i love this so much. i was worried for a s2 after the brilliant s1 ending, but this is all the exact same supernatural found family goodness i wanted and needed. the worst part is how short is it :')
i think it was just okay. the cgi is fantastic and the atmosphere is quite wondrous, yet mysterious. i liked the idea of questioning the intentions behind the magician and i quite liked il deung's storyline. but i think (like with most of these short dramas) it suffered from being too short. in miniseries, the plot usually has to take center stage, but this one felt like nothing happened past the first 3 eps. at least for me, i wasn't very interested in the crime side even though i'm normally big on crime and mysteries. the music personally wasn't my style. i'm not a big ballad person and besides the first and last songs, it all felt a bit slow and dreary. i also didn't really care for any of the characters in particular. they built il deung to be a really likable guy and then...well idk what happened tbh. he just never felt the same after that. i think they all just felt a bit static to me (except for il deung but they also butchered him at the same time)? it's a bit sad because i thoroughly loved it in the first half and then by the end i couldn't wait until it was over ://
honestly same with me too at some parts esp between the magician and the girl. i had to back away from my screen a couple times cuz they felt a little TOO close š
i'm not sure if this is a technical thing they have to do to get the right shots/angles and i'm not sure if other shows do this too (none that i've noticed) but they stood SO close to each other whenever they talked. you could prob only fit two fists between their faces lol. it's nothing bad or anything, just something i noticed
I was just thinking the sameā¦..how exactly and why is he a top Hallyu star when heās really hasnāt done…
i guess you don't know what subjective means and no one is questioning how he is a hallyu star who undeniably had big hits, it's just surprising that he is the MOST popular AND the highest paying lmao chill
Okay so can someone tell me if it had any romance?
there is some between choi sungeun and hwang inyeop's characters, but it's not the main focus of the show. it's still a pretty high school crush kinda cute tho. inyeop/ildeung is absolutely adorable
this show had a promising premise, but fell WAY WAY short. only one character really gets developed (neither of the two leads) and it's riddled with misunderstandings up until the very end. the romance was frustrating to watch. all you want are for the leads to open up to one another or for the fml to be nice and the ml to become more competent, and yet.....
cold male ceo characters are mean sometimes, but usually more dismissive and have a soft spot for the fml. in this, she constantly screams, tears up his work, and throws things at him yikes! i finished hoping things would change, but nope. 12 episodes later and it feels the same as it was in ep 1
i adore sismance so much. seeing women support and love each other is so incredible to watch, rather than the stereotypical woman vs woman thing that so many stories love to have (whether in work or in romance).
age of youth was pretty much my first kdrama and watching them go through thick and thin together was amazing. even though the drama wasn't the best thing ever, it holds a special place in my heart because of their friendship. i wish there were more kdramas with a group of female friends like that :')
