OP is really choosing to look at this from such a superficial pov. Gu Tingye isn't hot and he has children so that makes him not a good partner? Minglan spent so much of the show trying to avenge her mother and vowing to never have to live such a life. If she were to have married into Yuanruo's home she would have to always be restrained and living under the thumb of his mother. Ever since her own mom died she had to always think before acting. If she were to marry Yuanruo that would never end and she'd live her whole life that way. With Gu Tingye, yes she still had to contend with his own family bullshit, but she was able to live freely for the first time in her life.

Yuanruo 100% slept with his first wife and second wife. Yeah he didn't love his first wife, but he still was having sex with her. Let's not try and pretend like he was a monk. His mom also alludes to him having "relations" with the maid who was supposed to look like Minglan when he was all depressed. If Gu Tingye is "used goods" then so is Yuanrou. How is Gu Tingye, a man in his 20s, gross for sleeping with a woman who he then took responsibility for? He was a good man. He was abrasive and took risks, but he cared about Minglan and didn't let her suffer more than any other wife did at that time.

Yuanruo was sweet but naive and weak. He would never have been able to stand up to his mother if Minglan married him. She would have suffered far worse in his home. He couldn't even protect his servant who was with him since he was a child. Minglan would have to live a restrained life until she died whereas after everything settled down in Gu Tingye's home she was able to be the true madam of the house.

But do you only care about the fact that he's hot? That's so gross and superficial.

That's a reach. She's 25 years old and they were together less than a year. Fully grown adult, no grooming. She's just a bad person, she just did it again with a different taken guy. It's so ariana coded. There's something wrong with these kinds of women who feel the need to get attention from men who are in relationships. Not taking blame from the guys, but she deserves the criticism too.

Idk if Tom and Shen Li are the same person but Shen Li HATES Zhao Liying. Shen Li has had so many accounts over the past few years that have gotten banned but they just make new ones. On some of the accounts they outright bash Zhao Liying but then on others like her Shen Li account she pretends to be a ZLY fan to try and make her look bad by bashing other actresses. This user is legit so crazy, she got banned on the drama site koalasplayground for doing the same thing

I didn't like Hidden Love but I loved First Frost so I'm excited for this. The writing was fine for Hidden Love I just didn't love how much it pandered to the younger girl/older guy trope. It got kind of weird with how babylike ZLS acted in it (not hating on ZLS, I love her, I just didn't like how she portrayed that certain character). I'm glad there's no weird dynamic like that here, I'm sure it will be good!

XYL feels wooden in everything ngl. Chinese dramas have no shortage of male actors who should have just stuck to modeling. The girls are almost always way better actors but get torn apart by female audiences while the guys get praised for the bare minimum.

Amazing cast, screenwriter, and director. I'm really excited for this. I love these kinds of chinese dramas

I respect her so much for standing up for herself. She's already been through so much, I hope for her to come out of this situation on top and for it to set a precedent for the future so that other young celebrities don't have to silently suffer through such inhumane treatment. She's a human, not a commodity.

She's smart with starting to take more serious dramas now as she's in her early 30s. A lot of the 80s flowers kept doing idol dramas and it bit them in the ass because now that they're all approaching 40 they're not able to keep doing these roles and it's hard to break into more serious work. I think all of the early 90s flowers would be smart to start doing this earlier in their careers.

ZLY isn't going after anyone. The account "Shen Li" is the same person who made the account "SyanLion" above. They're an insane ZLY hater who tries anything to spread vitriol about her, whether that's through blatantly hating on her or pretending to be a fan and trashing others in her name.

They're going off on a different account (SyanLion) over on Huangyang Tian Tian's page too. It's actually crazy that MDL hasn't banned any accounts from their IP address. She's been spewing hate and defamatory comments on like 20 accounts over the past 5 years and yet she still hasn't been permabanned.
