A tiny bit angry at the ending but great drama nonetheless.
I really hate this trend of open-endings. What I liked about asian dramas was precisely this: their endings were clear. Most of the time, there were no doubts at what happened in the end. Hopefully, they'll stop doing that or I won't be watching airing dramas for a while...
I nearly gave it a 10 but: - I don't see why Byul had to be an alien. She could have just been a genius,…
@Ktdiva and @ClaudiaKdramaFan : I see your point. But I still think it creates some plotholes. For instance, she could have been a genius student in neuroscience and informatic. Well, it sure does implies some other changes in the drama and a slightly different plot. Like seeing her come up with the idea when little Kim Woo Jin ask for his mom's face. But then, the father wouldn't need to study her since she's no more an alien. So she has to become one of his students.
Actually, I think a pretty interesting plot is still doable without her being an alien. But they probably did that so that we, wievers, think of the blue bugs as some aliens creatures as well. It also helps us mistrusting Byul at first and gives a strong mystery feeling to the drama.
Well, I still rated it 9/10;)
Btw, thank you for the computer explanation. I truly needed it ^^
I nearly gave it a 10 but:
- I don't see why Byul had to be an alien. She could have just been a genius, it would have been enough.
- The last scene wasn't necessary. I'll forget it was even there.
- How did they operate the computer if you know who wasn't in any condition to give it his orders? (Someone probably answered that already in the previous comments, which I haven't read yet.)
On the positive side:
- Original idea of two parts in different timelines, the first one explaining how the second came to be.
- Futuristic drama, which is unusual and highly appreciated.
- Great plot nonetheless. Both parts are very interesting.
Hello guys!
Is this sequel as good as season 1?
How is the ending? (Is it even finished yet?)
I just knew you'd be the one to answer me ^^
Thanks. I guess I'll wait with you until the subs are completed. I do want to see more of the Shi X YanDa relationship.
Hmm... Interesting article. I do agree, the trend is on sweet guys. I actually don't like this trend, but I don't like complete jerk either. I'm probably more into cold but honnest main lead, such as Detective Ji Bai in When a Snail Falls in Love. I don't have other examples in mind but he was very sweet to her without overdoing it, so it felt natural.
Is this a good drama? I don't mind spoilers. How are the characters and the plot?
It's repetitive but there are a lot of kisses. Really a lot ;)
I gave it a 6/10 but I hesitated with 7 because, despite the repetitiveness, I didn't fast-forward much.
This is much better than the other HGD series imo. I watched the other one and x-ed it out in the first scene…
The first episode of the other Hong Gil Dong doesn't reflect the whole drama at all. When I first tried it, I stopped after this first episode. But so many people were talking about it that I ended up giving it another chance. The drama turned out being pretty good.
I'm confused to be honest why doesn't anyone like this drama? Don't know about you but I think…
I agree with you too. Anyway, we don't see Ah Ro that much. People can just fast-forward her scenes if they dont like her. As for me, I like the whole "in love with my sister who actually isn't my sister" thing. Her acting? I've seen her in other dramas so I know what to expect already. If you ask me, it's not her fault if the director make her cry all the time.
I'm not an actor but I think there are two types.
First: Those who build a character by giving it different personality traits each time they do a new drama. It's not easy and only a few can do that well. And even the best sometimes end up loosing their touch.
Second: Those who bring their own personality into their role. They imagine how they would react if they were in the same situation as the character. Because they do that, from one drama to another, it fells like it's the same character in a different setting. That's not something that bothers me. In fact, in my country, we have some great actors who are like that and people go watch their movies BECAUSE they expect to find the same kind of character. Usually, they go for comical roles, just like Ah Ro is supposed to be in this drama.
