•Both female leads are the clever, strong and mature breed complete with "overly loyal sister-like maid" sidekick
•Both women are fighting for survival in an environment that is against their odds
•Both have a male lead who openly loves and favors the female lead which results in calamity
•Both dramas have the leads constantly fighting off schemes from other jealous female antagonists
•Both have some maids/eunuchs who are corrupt or betray
•Both shows have beautiful costumes and scenery
DISCLAIMER: Ruyi takes place in an actual royal harem in a totally different period and THERE IS NO REVENGE PLOT/IDENTITY THEFT. Also the male lead in Weiyoung is 100 TIMES BETTER than the one in Ruyi character wise.

Ok I know these two don't seem alike but both these films are character studies that delve into the mind of screwed up people. Both have a transgressive feel with moments that will make you feel uncomfortable but it's going to be worth it in the end. In Burning the emphasis is on the strange relationship between Yoo Ah In and Yeun's and the girl despite having a third character of the girl they both desire and Middle School Girl A is about Hwan Hee and Suho's relationship even though she has a boy she really loves. Because neither of them are lovers but practically strangers.
Both have characters that you'll get invested in. Both have messed up stories that say something about the human condition in a unique way. Showing you both heartlessness and sacrifice.
Both are atmospheric thrillers with heart with a heavy psychological aspect and similar Korean countryside locations.
ML gets heart transplant from the fiance of FL and begins to fall for her as his heart begins to react for her
In both "Ataru" and "Algernon Ni Hanataba O" there is a 'disability' similarity that I think other viewers may find interesting. Also, the main actors/characters in each drama are not only actors they are also both in the 'idol' industry; singing, dancing, concerts, acting, etc...
Both series involve the main male lead mistaking and continuing to view the main female lead as a bad, money hungry, duplicitous woman who seduces men to get ahead. Slowly the main male lead sees the female lead for who she is after putting her through many hardships.
- both are web series
- both include romance and fantasy
- both have an element of time travel, one being a time loop and one travelling from the future to the past

Guardian is about ten thousand year of love.Shen Wei and Yun Lan's relationship is unique in everyway. In The Lost Tomb Kylin Zhang is Wu Xie's protecting angel and their relationship is as unique as theirs. :') If you want to watch something like Guardian this drama is the best, I think.
I don't know why but for me they seemed similar, I think it was the "supernatural/fantasy" aspect, if you liked Abyss I'm sure you'll like W too.
Same plot about female lead to be a novel character. Yeah in unexpected drama female lead is poor hoping to rope rich guy from her school and according synopsis she's rich girl and finding love and blh blah....
Korean drama, japanese remake.
I caught myself hooked on Two Weeks, the korean version I'll try the Jdrama too

This show is somewhat similar to Just an Encore as both juggling with long distance relationships (?)
But one thing for sure both conveyed the youth well and managed to provide a meaningful message to the youths. The both dramas are similar as both dramas are about the friendships of the group of friends, love triangle and FL liking the 2nd male lead when the ML is chasing the FL. ML is always there for FL and 2nd male lead realized his love for FL but it's too late.

The plot of both the dramas are the same. Highly efficient no-nonsense office worker having a hidden passion for something/someone which contradicts her professional image.
Both revolve around noble, morally just “outsiders” from their respective organizations investigating and correcting corruption in bureaucracy and politics.
