Both sageuks tell the story of smart characters who became powerful through their own abiity. They can't be categorized as evil people but also not as good ones, either. Excellent cast and character development!

Same fuzzy feeling between the leads plus sassy heroine makes both dramas great!

Both dramas have jpop idols in the cast and a beautiful teacher trying to help the revolting teenagers.

Both are short dramas with that good feeling of sweet romance. Both male otp look cold and sometimes rude. Both female although bright and good at what they do appears a little submissive to the guy.

Male lead despises her at first but eventually falls deeply in love with her.

They share the same basic storyline. There is female "goddess"-like figure who grants the main female the ability to meet 7 men with whom are very good catches. There is more of a moral to Everyday New Face.

but what the connection popped up in my head for is actually that I for some reason felt the *atmosphere* was same/similar (about Q10 e1-2); it's weird, 'cause technically the atmosphere is kind of exactly what is completely different

although I had the compulsion to make the recommendation due to such whim of a feeling, the fact that you'd probably really like them both or won't be able to like either is another thing - so...

this film is made by Hirokazu Koreeda(who is now emerging as the new pioneer in Japanese cinema) .This is a gentle human drama of a divorced father trying get near to his son which he love so much.

A plain-looking heroine gets bullied during school life. The plot revolves around the male lead and how he starts getting more involved toward her personal and school life.
