Slow road to nowhere

As others have written, a very slow pace to this one, but that was not a problem. The plot line with the eldest sister i felt was forced and uninteresting. The brother's storyline was better but I really didn't need it. The problem being, those two storylines took away from the really interesting story of Gu and the youngest sister. They had good chemistry and their scenes kept me engaged even when painfully slow. In the end, I couldn't handle the lack of closure this drama provided. I understand the reason for it, but it left me frustrated and unhappy. A good open ended drama I think gives you a good feel for how things could turn out or lets you know it doesn't really matter. At the end of this, I'm not sure if Gu is dead in a alleyway tomorrow or married with kids in 5 years...

Sweet, fun, fluffy...

This drama is like a great mix of most of my favourite tropes done well , not great but pretty good a highly addictive very bingeable and with pretty lovable characters and pretty cinematography. As they mix Go Back Couple, with The Brightest Star in The sky threw in While. You Were Sleeping and added maybe just a dash of What Is Wrong With Secretary Kim. And may just may make you want to fall down a well...

This drama excelled in use of umbrellas ad they were probably present in every episode and used for all from flirting, slo mo romance but best of all they were even used as weapons! The budget for confetti and cleaning up confetti in this drama must have been huge almost as big as the budget for umbrellas and hoodies.

The drama also has some of dreamlands sweetest parents, friendships and shows lovely ways of handling some popular drama cliches. However the part of the main plot that is not romance, is kind of draggy and feels pretty unnecessary, it is as if it is only there to add some seemingly never ending propaganda monologs, fire and action all things that are not nearly as interesting as the chemistry, dynamics, family relations, and romance in the rest of the drama and is what brings down the score from a 10 to a 9, but if you skip past those parts you will se that the rest is a lot of fun as this drama has it all bickering siblings, bickering couples (yes I like bickering), caring, snow, slow or glass, slow mo rain... a smart and mature female lead who can actually stand up for herself , a swim team, boxing and even a puppy...

Also! There is a scene were a guy actually asks a girl if he can kiss her??? In a C-drama? What are the odds?

In numbers:
Bingeabilaty: 10
Main Couple: 10
Side characters: 8
Annoying elements: very few
Umbrellas: 10
Fluff: 10
Frustration: 9

Definitely one of the better C-dramas out there.

The reviews hit harder than the comedy in the drama

This is the first time I am writing a review and only because I am so had at wasting the hours of my life to watch this thing

To get the positive out of the way: the casting was great and the outfits were especially beautiful.

Onto the rest:
The plot is predictable and makes no sense. There were all the usual twists and you could see it coming a mile away had you watched other korean dramas. The motivation for going back in time makes no sense and the main character seemingly just forgets the origianl ML from the past.

The last 2 episodes were filler as they had absolutely no effect on the ending. They cried, she spent some time in the past rejecting the original Tae Ha after she got her win and then she came back to the 21st century and got married yet again. This series could have really ended around the 10th episode.

Okay, here's my very first review for this...special movie.

First I have to say that I really liked this movie.
It's rather impossible to say if the story takes place in Edo period or nowadays, but let's say it's mostly in Edo period with some elements of nowadays (such as travelling by motobycle)

One of the good points of this movie is that you can still learn two or three things about the Edo period and the story, despite being more than weird, is kinda addictive. I don't know how many times I thought 'what the heck is this movie...writers smoke some weird things', but I still kept watching out of curiosity, and I don't regret. I even shed some tears at the end.

However, now that I watched this movie a long time ago, I had time to think further about it and I can now see many points that I had just skipped. Thus, the high rewatch value. I think it's needed to watch it at least 2 times to understand fully the movie. Not that the story in itself is complicated to understand, but many of the weird things turn out to be quiet deep in meaning.

I don't have anything special to say about the acting but even though I admit I watched it for Nagase Tomoya, the two main characters were both great.

So yeah, if you are able to bear not understand the meaning of what is happening in a movie in one go and you want to spend a good time, watch this movie :)

So going into this series I knew nothing about it. I found myself getting recommended this series on every site I went on. As you can see I thought I must watch it for myself so I did. Even more I liked it a lot. The two mains are tall and manly looking which is different in BL Normally you get a tough guy and a softy but not this time which I really liked. It doesn't always need to be the same. So I really liked the fact it broke away from that. Moving on I'm really picky I get bored easy but I didn't with this. I just recommend watching it if your on the fence like i was.

This is my first review so it might be a bit messy, I'm sorry.

''I've learnt the meaning of friendship, and how valuable it is''

A new boy, called Song, joins ''SPERM'' (yes, that's really their group name). He is not experienced with things like clubbing and fighting but they all accept him and he becomes more comfortable with it over time. This movie may not seem like the most original one, but it has it's twists that will make it stand out. Since it's a movie that contains a lot of characters, there's not much character development. But for this movie, that wasn't really neccesary either. What's most important is how they value their friendship and help each other out. The group faces a lot of obstacles but they'll always be there for each other.

This movie will make you laugh and cry and it kept me at the edge of my seat. I really enjoyed the pace of this movie, it never got boring. It's also realistic, there are stronger fighters, but it's not the type of movie where you will see enemies flying in the air by one hit.

In my opinion the acting was really good, especially the actors of Gun and Name did well. The side characters did a good job too.

Even though I watched this movie last night I can't really recall much of the music except the song that came at the end, which was beautiful. And listening to it again it gives me goosebumps.

Overall I really enjoyed this movie and I do really recommend it for everyone. Even for the romance lovers, there is a bit romance. But it's far from being the main element. This movie is really worth your time. I'm sure I will watch this movie again later on.

One of the best chinese drama I have ever watched. It didn't feel like 43 episodes, since I was so captivated by Zhuyilong's acting. Other actors also did a very great job! Which I think is a bit underrated.
The drama shows the growth of Lin Nan Sheng (played by Zhu Yi Long), we could see him learning to understand his own beliefs. Lao Gu and other comrades helped Lin Nan Sheng a lot.
They use Tchaikovsky's June Barcarolle as the opening song and for some scenes and it's just perfectly used

I don't grade shows very low if I can stand to watch them, BUT I also don't hand out 10s on a whim either. 10 is only for those really exceptional things that keep lingering in your mind hours, even days or weeks later. I'll start by saying, this is one of those kinds of movies.

STORY: The era and plot of this movie is perfect. The idea and message that is conveyed through it is moving. There is a clear path and a clear point and it is made with dramatic scenery, wonderful cinematography, and excellent martial arts sequences. Frankly, the best part about this is the martial arts and the concept of killing versus not killing. However, if you're looking for a true romance movie, you're in the wrong place. If you're in it for great acting and romantic subtlety, you'll get it in spades. If you love subtlety, then you'll understand when I say that the ending was epic.

The fact that this was produced by Time-Warner is a plus. Not to be biased, just staying factual, unless a Japanese movie is being produced by the likes of Sony Corp, the production value tends to be a tier or 2 down from the Mega-Movie producers in the USA. Those places just have instilled longtime quality personnel, longtime experience, and lots of money to spare to put value into a movie they produce. This movie is no exception to that rule.

ACTING: Straight up, you couldn't have cast people better for each role. They all fit their characters well. I have to say that Sato Takeru absolutely nails his character. Sato has the most perfect stances for each scene that shows his expertise and understanding of various jutsu. I was enthralled by it and his moves are so seemless. I haven't seen a movie so good for swordfighting in so long, it was amazing to me. His ability to subtlely use his eyes and mouth to express emotions that delineate the distance or closeness to his relationships or deeper meaning is powerful. I was able to see how much he values the concept of innocence by his shy reaction to it when he comes across it and his desire to protect the concept. Just beautiful and moving. Even though Samurai X was produced in 2012, it brought back to me essences of Liar And His Lover [2013] in that first kiss scene when she says "why are you crying" when he isn't and then the tears flow easily. I see how he perfected that by watching this movie. He is definitely a talented actor and I'm fascinated by how good he is with his marital arts at such a young age. Just mesmerizing.

MUSIC: One OK Rock - The Beginning for the closing song! Enough said! But seriously, the music is very good. It's got a classical feel to it and reminds me of the soundtrack to the anime Sword Of The Stranger yet, nothing will ever quite compare to that epic anime. I say it "feels" like it but it's no where close to the downloadable quality. What I mean is that the music doesn't distract and is impactful and plays well with the scenes being portrayed.

REWATCH VALUE: This is one movie that I will come back to time and time again. The battles scenes are just so good that I don't think I'd ever get bored of watching them. Where do you find a scene with a samurai beating up a bunch of thugs and, if you watch closely, see him take the seconds to show his respect by taking off his shoes and bowing. It's just meaningful stuff like that which you may not catch the first go around that begs for this movie to be watched multiple times.

OVERALL: Just one of those lovely badass films that's worth sinking your teeth into time and time again.

Binge-worth fluffy e-sport drama with a bickering main couple

I think I alrady said it all in my title.

The story has nothing special at all. A professional e-sport team hires a girl as their midlaner and the team captain is extremely hot, badass and smart. I think everyone knows what's gonna happen but how it happens is superb.

I loved the FL and the ML, they are both three dimensional characters who are perfect together. I laughed a lot on their hilarious bickering, it was sooooo lifelike.

The sidecarachters are all really likeable and funny (especially Fatty, the team's support). The real antagonist here is social media and fans who can't separete their idol's personal and professional life.

I really like e-sport and gaming dramas because of their settings:
- a main goal to reach: winning the championship
- a lot of interesting sidecharacters: the teammembers and member's of other teams
- easy to create a badass ML who is better then everyone else
- exciting fights

I know, the gaming parts and the portreyal of a professional gamer's life is probably not realistic at all. Even this drama mentioned how hard is to be a pro, because they have a lot of practise (10+ hour a day), just didn't show it. And in my book this is not a problem at all, I wanted to see a fluffy romantic story with some gaming elements and I got what I wanted so I am a happy girl right now.

This review is more to vent and appreciate all the aspects of the drama for my own purpose

From the beginning till the end I was hooked. like a fish out of water, each episode was like oxygen I needed. I could not stop and I would have binged the whole 20 episodes in one go if the normal human body allowed it but useless instincts took over at times. Pathetic human bodies am I right?

In the beginning, I was doubtful. The first 2 to 3 episodes were a clash of scenes and characters. Random killers and families and pregnant women. For me honestly, it was like an information overload. I still loved it though, no doubt there. As that random person on Rick and Morty said, "this information will be important later." Now, the story sticks to its plot of 'what if psychopaths' genes could be detected before they were born. A creative idea worth exploring. The plot is interesting and the avenues they explored to showcase the pros and cons of such an unrealistic idea were entertaining. I say unrealistic because let's face it, as someone in the science department the number of flaws, ethical regulations, and whatnot even pertaining to this idea is insurmountable. But lets not get into the semantics of science.

This drama revolves around the consequences one single step can induce. Every single episode was a whirlwind of emotions and questions that really made me think more about the moral obligations we face every day. In terms of pacing, the drama deserves a 9/10. Simply because I believe they could have wrapped it up nicely in 16 episodes. At some points I found the dialogue to be tedious and some scenes to be unnecessary. Like that scene where Seung Gi stands in front of the cross and declares that he's diety. I realize that that scene might be the ultimate act of sinning; the act that showed how monstrous he is but DAMN the number of times I had to see that scene nearly made me want to punch a wall.

The storyline cleverly shows us two halves of the same story and at the first half, you see scenes that make you think you've figured out everything but then comes the revelations, and when you finally understand you've been duped, by then you can only appreciate how they've managed to hook you line and sinker, even though half of it is a lie. As the story unweaves itself you realize that the information, in the beginning, was indeed important for later. Scenes that make you go "ahhh" and "ohhh" and *gasp* are my favorite scenes and there was a surplus of this in the drama.

In the end, this drama left me feeling emotionally drained in a satisfying kind of way. Not every character got the ending they wanted but in my eyes, it was the ending they needed. The only ending I feel conflicted about was *cue gasp* Lee Seung Gi. Yep, I said it. Why? okay so hear me out, he was a psychopathic killer I agree but this was before his brain transplant. Prior to his transformation, he put on an act. To the normal eye, he was an adorable, kind of air-headed, and a naive young officer who was a goody-two-shoes who was actually a psycho serial killer. Okay. Now after the transplant, he developed emotions right? and the kind act he put on actually became his persona. He came to believe his act and that in turn became his memories. This brings me to the question, is he the same person as he was one year ago? No.

Just like that question where if we replaced all the old planks of an antique ship with new planks, would it still be the same old ship or would it be a new ship? The planks in this case are his memories. I might be going way off course here but imagine if something like this did actually happen and the killer never regained his memories of being psychotic. If he was judged, you would have to judge the person he was before the incident. This new person has no recollection and hence would hold no accountability in my opinion. Of course in reality, the said person would be convicted of his crimes nonetheless but it still got me thinking and in turn, I had conflicted emotions. I do not disagree with the end Seung Gi met. Looking at it from a logical point he has to be held accountable for his actions and rightly so. I disagree with the ending the non-psychopathic Seung Gi met.

Every character in the drama was complex and important. Except for the two useless detectives. Sheesh, sometimes the police were so useless istg. The acting was top-notch and the soundtrack was grade A.

What was that?

Was this a tourist ad or should it be a soft porn?
I have no idea... there was not much of a story, there was not really much of emotion, there was stiff acting, there was fan service.
The only upside are the nice places in Tokyo, otherwise this was very forgetful. At least it was not as a pain to watch compared to other series last year.. because besides some sex scenes not much happend at all. No idea why you spend money on such a production, because this could not have been that cheap, even when the actors didn't get much payment.
So, if you have not watched it, just skip it otherwise I feel your pain.

PS.: Dear MyDramaList Admins, why can't we vote with a 0? The rewatch value of this "show" is non existent, even a 1 is too much.
PPS.: Why there is a 6.5 rating overall I really, really have no clue...

Overall Warm Lovely Family Drama

I was hooked onto this drama since I watched the drama before its release and started it right away when it aired, but only finished it now because I didn't like the romance element. However, I continued the drama where I left off (at the ep after Zi Qiu and Ling Xiao came back) and was so surprised at how interesting it still was so I kept watching. It turned out that the drama doesn't have that much romance scenes between Ling Xiao, Zi Qiu, and Jian Jian which was such a relief! It was more focused on the family aspects than I expected so I binged watched the remaining episodes. It was totally worth it! I would recommend those who liked the family aspects to continue just to see those parts because it really is worth the watch!

Now some things I really enjoyed:
1. The acting of course! - The family was so real that it didn't seem like that were acting at all! The chemistry is no joke! I especially love Zhi Qiu's acting! So amazing!
2. Some great points regarding family are brought up
3. The OST -such great bgm for the tearjerking scenes T_T
4. The first 12 episodes- such great sibling chemistry between Jian Jian, Zi Qiu, and Ling Xiao when they were young and as they grew up! very fun to watch!

Things that were not so great:
1. The romance between Jian Jian and Ling Xiao - wasn't that hard to understand why they like each other but still weird for me to watch them hug and interact as lovers; the brother-sister vibe is so strong that they could have stuck with that for the entire drama and it wouldn't have made a big difference, it was pretty unnecessary to also make Zhi Qiu thinks he likes Jian Jian (although his reasons for doing so made sense)
2. The ending - felt a bit rushed towards the end to have the story wrapped up for Ling Xiao's mom portion and the conclusion overall; could have shown a bit more although I liked how everywhere ended up
3. Too many complicated love triangles/squares between Jian Jian's friends - was hard and boring to watch

BUT I would totally recommend this drama for anyone looking for a great family drama (you can just skip the romance parts)! If you need another reason, just watch it for Steven Zhang (Zi Qiu)'s great acting!

I've been of police/crime related drama for quite awhile now. As long as there's one with a good plot, I'll give it a shot. With that being said, I'm also OCN network biased. They're my favorite network and I've watched all of the shows that they've aired to date.

In my opinion, the beginning few episodes were a bit hard for me to get into. Truthfully, I ended up skipping a lot of parts in eps 1-3 but once ep 4, I don't think I skipped any parts. I thought the first couple of episodes were decent but was still slightly lacking. I wasn't able to connect to the characters immediately which was a downfall for me. But once you got over the first few episodes, you will be glued to your seats in anticipation for what's going to happen next.

The acting by the actors were superb. I'm a huge fan of Kim Jae Wook after watching a previous drama of his, so seeing him in this role was definitely a positive sign. Also a fan of Baek Sung Hyun, he's an absolute cutie pie.

Overall, the drama did have some hiccups in the first few episode, but it was ironed out well in the later episodes. This drama might not be everyone's cup of tea but I do believe that if you're a fan of crime, you should definitely give this drama a try. The OSTs that played were a nice touch and complimented the drama nicely. Too often, I see OSTs that come out of nowhere and don't belong in a particular scene but I do like the placement of the OSTs in this drama.

As for re-watch value, I gave it an 8.5 specifically for the fact that if I were to rewatch it, I wouldn't watch the first few episodes. But that's just me personally.

Sensational drama that has stolen the hearts of millions

Get ready to be captivated by the sensational drama that has stolen the hearts of millions: "True Beauty." As a newcomer to webtoons, I stumbled upon this extraordinary story, and its unique plot and stunning art instantly won me over. Little did I know that this webtoon would be adapted into a drama, filling me with an immeasurable amount of joy and anticipation.

"True Beauty" boasts a cast that is nothing short of perfection. With each episode, I found myself completely engrossed, unable to miss a single moment. The characters are all so lovable and relatable, bringing an extra layer of depth and charm to the story. The comedic talents of the female lead injected laughter into every scene, making her a delight to watch.

The romantic aspect of the drama is simply irresistible. The chemistry between the female lead and Suho, with his cold demeanor and yet sweet gestures, had me swooning. And let's not forget about Han Seo Jun, whose boldness, patience, and sacrifices made him an absolute standout.

The drama is not without its fair share of emotional moments. The twists and turns of the plot kept me on the edge of my seat, experiencing a whirlwind of emotions. But in the end, the drama delivered a satisfying conclusion that left me feeling content and fulfilled

Wow. Today I'm talking about my favorite drama.
The one which makes me smile the most.
The one I'm always sing the OST.
The one with one of the best love triangle.
Seriously, actors are perfect. Ok, Gong Hyo Jin is not a young women of 20 years old. She's not a beauty like IU or Suzy. But, isn't she beautiful ? Isn't she cute ? The way Korean People dress is REALLY strange, colors, and all... WARNING : For some. And it's the case of the cute Pyo Na Ri, but it suits so good on her !
For actors. I know that some people are like "AH no, I won't watch this. The lead actor is not in my taste". Right... Don't judge a book by it's cover.
Ok. Jo Jung Suk is not a beauty like Lee Jong Suk is for some people. BUT WAIT his acting is so sweet, his character in the drama is so sweet... THE WAY HE REACTS !
So... For the second lead.. Go Gyeong Pyo, he's cute, his character looks perfect, I DON'T LIKE PERFECT PERSONS. SORRY. ahah. No, the acotrs is very good. He is very good. Nothing more.
BUT THE BROMANCE, OH THAT'S BROMANCE. The love triangle is very pleasant to watch, but the bromance is perfect, seriously, I want a friend like that.

Recently, I decide to rewatch it, I was smiling, laughing as hell. So yes, It's a romcom. It's not something serious. But It makes you happy. Yes there's some moments you can be nervous for characters.. But, all elements are here for making you smile. Don't forget it.

Well, that's my longest review. If that review inspire you to watch this drama, I'm happy, I make my job.

Enjoy watching Jealousy Inscarnate ;)
