Confident Guy Goes After Who He Wants....Yessss!

Content Warnings: none

Overall: so refreshing to see a confident guy going after someone who isn't ridiculously reluctant/nervous, hope they can develop this story into a longer series or pair these two up again

What I Liked
- I think they both did a nice job acting and have good chemistry, those smirks and eye movements
- I find confidence to be very attractive and Kong is such a refreshing character
- likewise you can tell that Film is receptive from some of his facial expressions

Room For Improvement
- I'm grading this on a curve because I think it has a very small budget, it would be great if this were a whole series and more fleshed out

Hai zoombies

This drama touched untouchable subject in k dramaworld...
Yesss, drama contain dark subject and triller...
The whole drama is centred with FL.. how she walked herself inside cult and and how she walked out from cult... You can see her desperateness, fear, anger, cry, helplessness, hopelessness etc you will feel with her..
FL really did her job very best to show her feeling in her eyes..
Plot was new , as a fan of rom-com i found this plot different genre and go for it, at first i didn't believe myself that i will finish this drama..i think i will hold r withdrawn in middle. But i did it.. i watched 16 eps ... Hooraaayyyyy
Weid cult practise is somewhat new.. some scene make me laugh.. who r this baffons who r this clowns.. does this kind of stuff Exists in world... Yesss.. they exists... This drama clearly draw a line between religion and cult..
Some scenes make me feel angry and scream loud and punch them... I found some eps are so long for me to watch...
I clearly in stress wheather our FL will get out from cult safely.. with the help of her friends will she able to walk out??
Usage of ML was poor but SML did his job well.. i can follow him to rescue her rather than ML..
As a matter of fact : THIS DRAMA IS NOT FOR EVERYONE.
I gave less star for re-watch.. because u resuced the FL lead already, so u don't want to go again in that weird cult which cause too much pressure and stress..lol...
Tips for ROM-COM Fans: if u had more time to kill , u can watch it. But don't expect romance r comdey in this drama...
Bye zoombies......

IMO - The biggest disappointment in this year!

This series had everything going for it: good cast (both main and supporting), good story background (struggle in show biz), good music (some good singers lined up for OST) but alas it was not enough to keep this series from sinking.

The show started out great! The first few episodes or rather the first half was good but the writing and direction really messed up the second half. I loved the characters of both male leads but the character of the female lead was just bad - of all the characters in the show, I disliked her the most. The acting was good but the characters that were written for these actors were poorly written.

The show had multiple plotlines in the first half and they were interesting but none of these were taken to the logical conclusion. None of the plotlines is truly explored. Why would someone want to watch a show where the plots are not concluded properly? The struggles of actors from poor backgrounds, the impact of cyberbullies on actors' lives, a possible one-sided love, parents overly involved in their kids' lives (and using money), were some of the interesting plots but god these plots were messed up big time.

The second half added atleast 1 more interesting storyline but it was just left hanging. On top of that, they add unnecessary and boring characters. The last few episodes were painful to watch. I mean the last 4 episodes, I was just fast-forwarding half the time and finishing the episodes asap just to complete the show - seriously a lot of waste episodes.

The only plus points: Music and some good acting from male leads and their families.

Bottonmine: DO NOT WATCH AND WASTE YOUR TIME! I have not included any spoilers in my review but even if you skip this show you will not miss anything. I will not recommend anyone to watch this show.

I AM IN LOVE WITH THE SERIES ! ??????Well I really am into realistic and organic stories than cutesy romance. I used to like the later when I was in my late teens. Now at the age of 23 I feel like the more real the more better. Lee Gang Doo and Ha moon So are so very thoroughly written characters with nuances that make them more solid. I just love the conversations and moments between them and the intimate scenes are so real. Not everyone jump on their lover thee very first moment they fall for each other. They take their own sweet time to do everything. And yes the other characters like Grandmaa , Sang Man , the second leads. All do their job to the best of their abilities. And everyone has their characters written so well that it never feels like skipping some part. I hated the manager’s part. But that means he has done a good job. Well the ending was a bit dramatic. But then the story is all about hope. So I guess it’s all ok ! Go ahead and give it a try. It’s a story about how human beings actually live their life. How survivors still have to fight with there past and still somehow learn to survive with that. How love somehow lessens that struggle.

I don't know what's going on but I liked it

Korea decided to remake, of all possible Thai BLs, Why RU? And that is exactly what we got: a short form, clean & pretty, uneven chemistry, slightly confusing, all the same tropes KBL that kind of cliff-noted the original but with none of the heat or complex relationship dynamics. I just … what world is this? Because it is BOTH bizarro land, and EXACTLY what I expected.

SaifahZon (no matter what country) are probably the softest enemies to lovers ever put on screen. Yes they are very cute, and I like them better than the original. However, no one can out do ZeeSaint for the count down kiss on the rooftop.

All in all, I liked this remake/parody/annotate/whatever a lot but I’d love to know what somebody thought who hadn’t seen the original.

How do I rate something like that? In the end I have to go back to simple questions: did I like it, would I rewatch it, and would I recommend it? Yes. Probably. And probably not. What the actual hell? 8/10

Thai drama strongly recommended! ❤

I don't normally watch Thai dramas - I've watched Chinese and Korean dramas.
My good friend has recommended me Thai dramas and ever since then I've become addicted to Thai dramas especially the dramas with the actors James Jirayu Tangsrisuk and Mark Prin Suparat.

This is the first drama I've seen with Mark Prin Suparat and third Thai dramas I've watched.

I love Mark Prin ❤

This drama is really interesting, intense and keeping me in suspense when I watched each episodes.

With the main couple, it started with the hate and then it became love.

The FL in the beginning is a bit annoying as she's a spoilt brat but she grew up and changed into a better person where the ML started to notice it and fell in love with her.

FL started investigating the death of her parents - with the help of the ML and his friends.
We learn from this what friends are for and that we should help friends in need.

I would strongly recommend this drama to anyone. As I've mentioned I got hooked on this drama straight away and this is my third Thai drama.
I love Thai dramas now and become quite addicted to it. I will watch it anytime if they have either James or Mark. ❤

It's Not Bad....

I watched this Lakorn a few years ago...so things are a bit hazy. I just wanted to give a bit more context to ajyone considering this lakorn.
It's not a bad show. If you love a bitter sweet romance, tortured hero, slap kiss, obsessed hero, or an intense romance then you'll absolutely love this one. I do and so this is a regular rewatch for me. And for those with genteel sensibilities then rest assured that there are no forced scenes between the pra'ek and nang'ek. And if that still doesn't convince you then move along...nothing to see here.

Likes:
1. Acting: I found the intensity of the pra'ek(ml) to be oh so rewarding to my little 'obsessed hero' loving heart. I dont know about anyone else but I definitely prefer intense heroes. I could feel how conflicted he was between loving the fl, being disgusted and thankful at the same time towards his mother's lover, and wanting to protect his mom at the same time that his lover despised her for breaking up her own family. When his love for the fl won out over everything else early on in the series I was hooked.

B. Im not sure why anyone would dislike the nang'ek's acting. Sure she was pretty stiff most of the time, but pray tell how you'd feel if you found out that the woman responsible for your Mother's misery was your husband's mother and your father's mistress. I think she did a good job with the range of emotions/emotional state she went through from start to end. She definitely made me want to smack her a few times for holding on to her need for vengeance towards her hubby, but I got it. So, I'd say she did a good job.

C. The father's an asshole...enough said.
So he did a great job making me hate him.

D. I am semi conflicted about the mistress/mom. I CAN NOT stand her whiny ass, but surely you could understand the position she was in as her life is revealed in little flashbacks throughout. I think they did a good job with this slow revelation. I started sympathizing with her as a mother....just a little bit.

2. The Chemistry. You could tell the ml was highly attracted to his fl. The kisses weren't steamy but like I said, I live for an intense hero and his tortured hero bit works for me. So the kisses arent fiery, but the romance is, if that makes sense

3. The music worked for the series. Nothing that stands out too much but that definitely fits into the theme. Soft, anguished rock sounding music.

4. Storyline. I liked the drama of it all. If I was to characterize this in a Western mold I'd call it a Romantic Drama/melodrama.
Meaning a lot of stuff went down but the ml and fl ended up happy together in the end. But mostly the show focused more on being excessively sentimental and overly dramatic than anything else. If you're a fan of Lakorns then you'll understand. Storylines like these are why im mostly attracted to Lakorns. When I need a bit more substance and could probably withstand the uperlevel mental-ness (dont think thats a word) then I reach for a kdrama, which doesnt happen often honestly. If I'm feeling for a naughty or weird type of drama then I might watch jdramas. But I always start with a lakorn for this reason.

Dislike.

1. Where's. The.Karma -_-
Just 1...the father did not get what was coming to him. He got off way too light for someone who basically imploded his marriage and messed up the kids on both sides. Like he should be writhing in hades I find him so repugnant-_-
And 2...again, while i understood why any girl would be pissed that some other girl was seriously jerking around the guy you're interested in, that nang'rai deserved more karma is all I'm saying. Ill leave it at that.

Basically, if you're anything like me and you love your hero/ml with an intense obsession, and a heroine/fl who didnt back down from anyone, then you'll love this.
Give it a watch.

Average Thriller

TW: Animal abuse is insinuated within the first three minutes of episode 4; however, we are assured at the end with a message from the creators that no animals were harmed during filming. While it pertains to characterization of one person, if you find this distressing (like I do), I think you can go to the four-minute mark of episode 4 and not miss anything important story-wise.

I felt like this was a pretty typical domestic thriller/crime drama. No twists and turns here, which may be explained by the fact that this was based on a true story. The writers have merely adapted that real-life event to the small screen without any added razzle dazzle, and that’s what it felt like watching this. Although I didn't know the answer to the ultimate question until the final episode, nor did I suspect the surrounding circumstances, once everything was revealed, I wasn't surprised at all.

This is a short drama: four episodes around 25 minutes each. Time constraints will of course prevent us from diving too deeply into the characters' backstories. That said, we got enough details about the major players to get a sense of who they were, and if viewed as a movie cut into parts, the characterization felt complete enough. I do wish we saw more of the detective's story. There was a very intense build-up that led me to expect some big revelation in the end, but it just resolved rather quickly and quietly. On the one hand, I felt like the writers were trying to fit too much into this short piece, and that resulted in a breadth-over-depth application. But on the other, I applaud the writers for using every last second to propel the story forward in one way or another in spite of their time limitations.

Overall, although I'm not blown away by this drama, I did find it interesting and enjoyed spending a couple of hours with these characters and their story. I'd recommend this drama if you want something short but intense with strong actors and quality production value.

Equal mix of Romance, Angst, and Happiness.

Both Zhou Ye and Chen Feiyu showed their acting skill in the film. You could really feel the emotion and heartbreak in their scenes. They also look beautiful with each other, good chemistry!

It’s not an original story by any means and has been done before but it’s a classic, never gets old and hits the mark every time. It’s an equal mix of angst and joy, I cried both sad and happy tears throughout

The ending is satisfying and fitting and gives the mains a well deserved happy ending <3

Witchy BL

I liked this series! EVERYONE wants Vee, and I can see why! Lol! This series is interesting, unique, and hot! I liked the storyline, it’s different from the basic university plot. There was a lot going on, and I hope there’s a second season, because wtf with the last few minutes?! Vee!!!! What?! This series has witchcraft, betrayal, manipulation, and that wtf cliffhanger! I really liked it! I hate Jay, and Jennifer is a conniving bitch. And dude. The scene with Vee and Dong in the carport..... It’s cemented in my brain forever! There are a lot of super hot and steamy scenes in this series, and I remain shameless in my appreciation for these scenes! :D It’s a good story, and the actors are hot, and their chemistry is fire. Check it out! Not your typical BL!

Okay, I'm Not That Mad

This one popped up in my YouTube recommendations, and I thought, "Why not?", completely forgetting that I put this on my Not Interested list, but oh well, can't go back now. To be quite honest, I'm not that disappointed, yet, had I logged onto MDL and looked at it first, I would've never tuned in -- again, oh well. I could've stopped and dropped this, but I was quite intrigued with the BL couple (Oh, and BTW, this is a side BL, which I also didn't realize) Which is why I kept watching. Skinship is the complete opposite of what you're thinking. Instead of the meaning physical intimacy, or touching or anything else you would think Skinship means, it's actually the literal term for the number of times that the skin treatment spa was the entire plot of the series.

Let's Dive In.

Production wasn't bad, nor was it anything spectacular. This series was just pretty much a very long commercial. They only had three episodes, and out of those, they spent most of their time at the spa, the brand that was sponsoring them. Very annoying, especially when minutes are spent speaking on a topic that nobody could give two craps about. To add on, the translations weren't all that good either, especially in the first episode. I think someone just got lazy, cause it seemed like they just summarized what the actors were saying instead of giving it to us word for word. it gets a bit better as you go on, but it's still a bit bothersome. Other than that, everything else was decent.

The acting was actually really good. I think it was the better part of this series. had the acting been bad, I would've dropped, but honestly, these actors understand how to perform. I already liked Best, but I think had Shino and Chahub been given some better material to work with, they could've really shown us some incredible acting. I think they did good, but there wasn't anything to really show that they did amazing. Aumain did a good job too, so did Fame. I think she was a bit over-the-top, but it's better to give too much than to give nothing at all. Overall, the acting in this was adequate and I wouldn't mind seeing them in another BL.

I usually harped on the het couple, but in this series, I didn't really mind them. They were actually pretty cute. Them baking together was the best part. Nothing about them was annoying, or too much, or just irrelevant, I think they were a decent couple. I really enjoyed Teenoi and the doctor, except we get pretty much nothing. I love Teenoi's subtle flirtatious vibe, and I like that the doctor was more assertive (Also, Chahub is a very beautiful man, so that doesn't hurt either). They had built up this really nice connection until nothing happens. The het couple gets most (actually all) of the last episode to themselves, so we get no execution for the BL couple except at the end they drop a bomb and say that they've been dating for four months, and by then, they completely lost me. I don't know if I missed a time jump or the foreshadowing, or maybe a translation error, but I am lost with no navigation. Had this couple been given some more time to connect, they would've been more delightful to watch.

Ratings:

Story: 3.5 - Nothing. It's pretty much non-existent. (No, cause seriously, I'm racking my brain to remember the story and all I'm getting is literal brain fart).

Acting: 8.5 - Again, it was the better part of this series. everyone did a pretty good job. I can't complain. I've seen worst acting in GMMTV series (*cough, cough* Pond in FUTS), so compared to that, I'm average.

OST: 5 - Was surprised to hear some decent songs -- and they were in English..? Not anything bad, expect, I rarely ever hear English songs in Thai series, so it took me by surprise.

Rewatch value: 1 - I got more shiz to watch, but there's a less than 1% chance I'll ever come back to watch this.

Overall, I don't recommend this unless you have nothing else to do all day and have watched every other BL you can. Again, it's not the worst I've seen, but it's far from the best. It's pretty much a commercial with 75% het couple and 25% BL couple with very little build-up. I might tune into Skinship season 2, I might not. We'll cross that bridge when we get there.

A path to heal earthly wounds, rekindle love & devotion, and make one's final moments ethereal

This is one of the most flawless works showcasing the constant choreography of marriage and in particular marriage involving one spouse or the other becoming a caregiver for the other who is chronically or terminally ill. The dance of this program is intricate, delicately moved through, and nuanced in the case of the couple here (courtesy of two of my favorite talents who both have voices and facial expressions that soften me but also deliver quite a bit of aching as we see them endure and suffer)... every tiny position of hands and arms, every gaze, be it a steely smile to hide the pain or the writhing that is almost impossible to be unaffected by, is really powerful.

In particular, beyond their body language and expression, much of the dance here is one shown largely through the incredible effort to detail put in buying ingredients with earnest attention to quality, in preparing them with a reverence for the ingredients knowing they may be among the last ever eaten by the person they love most dearly... even filtering fiber-laden juices three or four times, eventually with doubled up conical coffee filters after muslin that gets washed and reused and I believe paper towels just before the filter... just the level of love to juice fresh produce then spend an easy hour filtering over and over cautiously for just a few sips, sips that are "bland but everything needed is there" as she likens these reduced/less weighty and rich, heavily filtered clear liquids to her husband.

The process of saying goodbye, of seeing the body fall apart bit by bit, is so powerfully depicted yet with so little fanfare. The sincerest kind of grace is delivered quietly, after all. There's also a truly special support character played by versatile actor Yang Kyung Won-I've seen him be everything from the vilest trashiest criminal with money to... well, this has to be the single most wholesome character in the background I've seen in a kdrama. I really can't think of a better "support" both for them as cast and moreso as the family enduring illness that has no cure, only potential comfort and shared time.

This isn't exactly a spoiler (especially as it could be any moment of the food-centered show), but if there is a "climax" to this in terms of intense emotions, it's after the husband decides to make a dish that he doesn't realize requires the batter to rest for a whole day... and the following day, the wife is not able to eat at all and gets rushed to the ER, the batter ruined ultimately, his quest for perfection being futile-that is when he really has to come to terms with how everything is "now or never" and he truly can't do it all-his helpless feeling is crushing to watch, and yet... in that same hospital, some "innocent" pork belly slices become a way to throw that anguish aside and celebrate a happy moment through a little bit of scheming.

Likewise, one of the single most touching moments came from the grocery store "Oasis" worker, a true oasis to not-so-knowledgable men of the house trying to navigate a store so foreign to them, really about as desperate as people stuck in a desert needing water... he lead them quite perfectly (and had awesome uncle energy with the 20-year-old son), but when another "batter needs a day" situation happened with an out-of-season dried item that requires 4 days to rehydrate... the ML leaves despondent and empty-handed only to have magic happen in the form of that compassionate community member, the kind anyone caring for chronically ill family needs in droves.

If Yang Kyung Won's character doesn't inspire at least a few viewers to look at all the healthy-LOOKING people around them and consider the illnesses harbored by so many as they put on those steely "content" faces and smile their way out of any discomfort they'd cause another (or the unwelcome poor you sort of pity they may receive in turn from those who enjoy broadcasting others' issues)... and be more kind in general, I don't know what kind of drama/film really could without being preachy. His compassion is as layered and complex as the illness he's helping the family members manage-he guides them gently and with little questioning or drama but with the biggest pompoms attached to his giant heart, clearly. He's my MVP of the series.

Bravo to the entire cast and crew. That tiny bit of whistling quietly taking us out of every episode also felt genuinely thought-through and perfect for what this aims to be. They did it magnificently, even if my chest feels heavier for the viewing.

If I try to describe it in words this drama come from other earth , it's not like anything watching ever , Amazing acting .. Great Music .. Simple story with deep meanings dug deep into my heart ..

My Mister successfully touches on universal themes of brotherhood, friendship, perseverance, selflessness, accountability, forgiveness, acceptance, and letting go. The stellar supporting cast makes a frank exploration of these themes not just possible, but deep and poignant, adding to the already rich narrative. Much like adhering to strict building codes, these friends and family members resemble pillars which boost each other up in good times and bad

So somone plz give this show all the Korean Oscars known T__T
hope everyone start this drama without read any synopsis , just start watching and enjoy with everything in screen ❤

Probably one of the best 2021 drama...

Si Teng (Rattan) combines good story-telling, wonderful acting especially from Jing Tian, and great guidance from the director to produce a story of fantasy and sci-fiction.

The story tells of Si Teng, a monster that grew from a rattan (Teng) plant into a little girl, trained to hunt and kill other monsters. She wanted to have human life like other kids, her master wouldn't allow this as monsters and humans cannot mix. Without giving away the story too much, she escaped from her prison existence but was murdered, by whom? However, she was resurrected by the blood of Qin Fang, a fashion designer, who agreed to be her servant (who wouldn't.. :-) ). As they set out to find what happened and Si Teng's history. Through the trials and difficulties, they fell in love. But love is a fragile thing... Let the story begin.

What I like:
-------------
The beauty of the drama is the scene that is stunning. I heard the director traveled to remote places of Yunnan to film the scenes. The other beauty is Si Teng, she really has this otherworld beauty in this drama - beautiful, cold and elegant played perfectly by Jing Tian. In this drama, Jing Tian proves that she isn't just a pretty face as everyone titled her with. Her acting is spot on; from the elegant way she moves to the little facial expressions to the subtleness of her demeanor, she nailed it especially when she had to play duel roles of Si Teng and Bai Ying. One of my favorite scenes is when Si Teng splits into two different people and Jing Tian this scene using just mirrors and changes in facial expressions. Blew me away.

For me, Jing Tian made this drama work under some great guidance from the director, Li Mu Ge. Jing Tian shows the wonderful and beautiful actress she really is; playing a dual role of Si Teng and Bai Ying, she demonstrates her ability to get into the inner thoughts of the characters, distinguish the character through facial expressions that cross from the cold and unfeeling queen to a child-like nature.

I also think that the director, Li Mu Ge did a brilliant job. Some of "behind the scene" videos show how detailed and careful he is. He knew exactly what he wanted and how to get it out of the actors. He even did Jing Tian's makeup for a scene because he didn't think the makeup artist got it right. He combined good old fashion storytelling with filming, not just relying on CGI which many of the new directors tend to lend towards.

Overall I would give this drama a watch. I think I must have rewatched this show several times now. Still as good as the first time.

A story about a young woman who dreamt of becoming a diva.

The idea of the story itself is very unique in my opinion. Though there are some illogical point (regarding her survival in the deserted island), but the whole visual is super great. And the story is not merely highlighting the romance between the main leads couple. But it showed us friendship, hope, resilience, and persistence.

The actors and actresses really did a great job in portraying their character. Park Eun Bin with her quirk, Chae Jong Hyeop with his talking eyes, Cha Hak Yeon with his wit, and Kim Hyo Jin with her clumsiness. I really enjoyed their acting here. So did the supporter character. Everyone was equally doing their best to portray their character.

Though the focus of the series itself is not romance, but I can feel a great chemistry between the ML and FL. They portrayed pure love. And it feels so sweet and sincere.
