And that was not the only time I was laughing.
There were some clichés that could have made my eyes roll, but I completely ignored them because I was enjoying this too much. I don't regret for a second watching this. It really cheered me up, and I was quite saddened by the fact that it only had three episodes.
The story itself wasn't really that original. As I mentioned before, really clichéd... except for the fact that this time around, the one cross-dressing is the boy. But, you know, it was super cute. And a large part of it was because of the actors' portrayal, so kudos to them (especially Min Hoo, whom I just loved dressed as G-Dragon). I really don't remember the music... so since it did not bother me, I gave it a 9.
I'm not a re-watch person, but I'd definitely watch this again! I can't really pinpoint a group of people to whom I'd recommend this. It might depend on your level of maturity, or what you want to watch that day. I mean, Ma Boy... I'm actually surprised that I loved it as much as I did! So, take a risk, and watch this. You probably won't regret it :P

I seriously LOVED this drama. Like, what a wild ride!! I was looking forward to Mondays for 12 whole weeks, and not once did I feel bored. Not once!! It’s ridiculous, it’s hilarious, it’s chaotic in the best way, and it somehow managed to give us emotional twists and over-the-top comedy without missing a beat. I was screaming, laughing, clutching my heart, and losing my mind episode after episode 😭💥
Boss and Jued owned me. He fell first and harder and funnier, and she slowly got there in her cute stubborn way. And let’s not forget Oat (2nd lead syndrome warning!!), Destiny vs. Breakup wars, pan fights, and poly chaos in between. I’m still not over the fact that I got THIS invested in a romcom about professionally ending relationships. Like HOW did they make this so good??!
I know it’s not a “perfect” drama, but in my heart, it’s a solid 9.5, actually scrap that, it’s a full 1000/10 in vibes and joy. Just go watch it, seriously. I already miss it.

Chan Yeong in class 2

Heesu is more like the side character. This is why I didn't like this drama. So much time and many scenes were focused on Chan Yeong and Ji Yu.
No chemistry at all between heesu and seung won, the "supposedly main leads". After the confession, we only get 3 minutes of them together. Lol!!

Cute, but slow-paced
Originally, I came to watched this for Janice Wu (Wu Qian) because she's one of my top favs! However, I've come to really likeBai Jing Ting. This is the first time I've seen his acting and I have to say he portrays his character really well. He's very good with his body language and facial expression--so funny and makes you laugh. Overall, I think the main leads did a great job!
The story:
The story is unique, or at least it is to me. It touches on some nice aspects about life--aging, our elders, and importance of enjoying the time you have. I have a soft spot for old people, so watching this was bittersweet as it made me miss my own grandparents. The show has some cute moments, but the downside is I felt the pace was slow and drawn out. I noticed some people say they got bored and dropped it. This show is more casual, but still refreshing and cute enough to keep me to the end. If you like to see a slower-paced story that involves a lot about all the (main and sides) characters and their development coupled with a slow-gradual romance on top, then this might be the show for you. It's funny, sweet, and maybe even a little sad if you have a soft spot for old people (like me). The romance isn't fierce, but very casual and "realistic" meaning the main characters don't just fall in love right away and have an unspoken relationship that quietly blooms into love. I think it's cute and different from the usual rom-coms. I think this show would've been better if it was more condensed into 24 or so episodes rather than 41.
Edit: Finally finished this series. Definitely need some tissues with some of the episodes. It was very wholesome and sweet. Makes me miss my grandparent. I actually really liked this show and glad I decided to watch it all the way through. It touched on a lot of points about life. If you have time to watch something a bit different than the usual dramas, give this one a try!

Guilty pleasure.
Eventhough I didn't give this drama a very good rating, I have to admit that I quite enjoyed it. The story was interesting to watch as it took a lot of unexpected turns (maybe even too many). The leads' acting was very good; they both have comedic talent. Overall, there were a lot of cute and funny moments.Still, the drama has a lot of significant flaws in my opinion. The story started out very light-heartedly but got rather twisted in the last 6 episodes. From that point on, I also noticed quite some minor and major plot-holes (especially concerning the ending which was still satisfying to watch, though).
From episode 18 on, the leads got in a lot of quarrels for no reason. In general, they didn't seem to be in a healthy relationship for the most part of the drama which was quite frustrating to watch and at one point even made me question whether or not it was appropriate to ship them.
Also, I quite liked Chu Chu in the beginning because she seemed like a strong character but she sank into self-pity and became more and more shallow as the story progressed. On the contrary, I was positively suprised by Pei Heng's and Lin Qi's character development. I would even go as far as to say that those two ended up being my favorites in the whole drama.
Another thing I noticed was that there were three supporting characters in the drama whose only purpose was to provide comic relief. Generally, I'm not a opposed to some dorking around in a fantasy rom-com which doesn't try to be historically accurate whatsoever but three characters is just... a lot. For me it felt like the overuse of comic relief didn't leave enough room for the more serious scenes to really have an impact.
In summary, the drama is ideal if you're searching for a cute, entertaining and slightly over-the-top fantasy rom-com but not the right thing if you expect a well thought-out story with three-dimensional characters.

A good fast paced drama with a lazy ending.
So this drama mainly focuses on action, which is also where it shines. It also does a decent job establishing and developing characters and also blending the characters together. I do think the cast was a little to big for such a short drama. Overall it was an interesting drama with an interesting story that kept me engaged all the way up until the end which is where it disappointed. I can't say much without going into spoilers but the ending was just very inconclusive and leaves with a million questions. The ending doesn't feel like good or well crafted writing at all, it more so just felt lazy.The ost is overall good but there were some scenes where the music felt very unfitting.
The acting was pretty good from all characters.

A crap shoot and a half
I don’t usually write reviews for shows this terrible, but this one is almost laughable. For all intents and purposes, I dropped it half way through but skimmed through to see what happened…This show is everything wrong with minidramas. I was literally laughing out loud at how inane the plot is. Pseudo-sibling romance where half the time he actually does think their siblings? Check. Another actual sister who is actually in love with him incestuously? Check. Oh wait they’re not siblings either? Check? I honestly can’t figure it out.
Memory loss? Check. Absolutely psycho second FL? Check. Evil mother who somehow gets forgiven? Check. Abuse, self harm, rape? Check. It’s like we take terrible tropes and put them in a blender…. OH AND THE FL DIES AT THE END IM SORRY WHAT THE ACTUAL HECK IS THIS STORY AND THEN WE GET A PARALLEL UNIVERSE FOR TEN MINUTES THIS IS INSANE.
I don’t know if I’ve ever watched a drama this level of crap—which sucks because the first few episodes were awesome. Then it all went spiraling down the toilet.
Goodness, someone fire the writers.

Cute, light-hearted, everything you need in a romantic drama!
I found this drama by chance since all episodes were dropped together. The story is quite refreshing with the leads having a beautiful chemistry.There are not much mishaps or misunderstandings and the leads are you typical "polar opposites" who attarct each other. The story is also not draggy and everything seems on-point.
Their romance development and chemistry is beautifully depicted. feels like a healing drama too at some point.
Overall, if you love a cute romance to watch, this is for you!

Story
This a fucking melodrama for god's sake. If you're complaining about the shallowness of the characters, or the never-ending cat-dog chasing between the two leads, well then you must not be familiar with melodramas. Melodramas are usually very slow paced, filled with one-dimensional characters, and everything is exaggerated. In terms of the story, I was fine with it. Nothing spectacular, but I liked the backstory and how the story progressed (especially the ending). Gave everyone proper closure (yes including Shin Joon Young), and reminded us of a sense of realness.
Acting
Kim Woo Bin literally carried this show. If you were to compare his acting to a boxing match, it's a straight up beat down. Every time I think of a bad boy stereotype, I always remember Kim Woo Bin. He just portrays it the very best for me; signature smirk, douchey tone, always looks angry. Idk... it gets the job done for me. Suzy was ok for me, like the rest of the cast. Not good, but not bad as well. (For all Suzy haters by the way, her acting has improved drastically in while you were sleeping)
OST
This is the bomb!!!! I have only given a perfect 10 to music to 1 other show, and that's Goblin. Trust me, even if you don't know the show, you'll love the OST. It fits the scenes in the show perfectly, and the blending of the music made it so much better for us to hear. Even the english song was good. The tune and melody are happy and bubbly and full of energy, but when you actually listen to the words, it's actually bitter-sweet cause it kinda foreshadows a lot about the show. I loved every song in the show.

I'm not really a fan of Melodramas, but even if I was, I'd still not rate the rewatch value of this enough. The heartbreak was good, but it lacked enough 'romance' and proper build up for me to remember.
Overall
This drama received so much hate and criticism because of it performing badly, and people started to say that it is a bad drama when it's actually decent. Let's be honest, how can you expect this drama to be viewed a lot when it competed with Doctors (Park Shin Hye and Kim Rae Won) and later on, W (Lee Jong Suk and Han Hyo Joo). That's just plain injustice

The beginning of this drama really hooked me. I have a weakness for stories of two friends torn apart by fate or circumstances or whatever. Epic bromance? Sign me up. So this should be right up my alley, right?
The acting is quite good from all the main cast members, with the exception of the adult version of Ji Sun, which just about everyone who reviewed this drama already mentioned. It didn't help that her character had nothing to do for most of the drama, but even when she did, she just didn't draw me in. Choi Min Soo is the opposite end of the spectrum. During certain episodes, I'm pretty sure I was watching for him only. Ji Chang Wook and Yoo Seung Ho are both good as the main characters, but I had serious problems with how just about every character was written, including their characters.
Which brings me to the writing. There was a long stretch of episodes in the middle where it really felt like nothing was happening. I mean, things happened, sure, but as far as advancing the main story, nothing much was accomplished in those episodes (ginseng, anyone?). The story lost its way somewhere, and without rewatching (which is not happening), I can't be sure where exactly. Around the end of the older generation's arc, I was actually willing it to end faster. Which I knew was a very bad sign, since I really loved those characters in the beginning of the drama. How did they end up so unimportant to the story?
And from there, it got even worse for a while. For a story centered on the conflict between the two lead men, they definitely didn't do much with that conflict. Also, Dong Soo is a bit of an idiot at times, and the writers obviously thought we were too if we weren't supposed to know which "side" Yeo Woon was playing for. (Were we supposed to be as surprised as Dong Soo was by that revelation? I really can't tell.)
The personality transplant of a previously likeable side character that set the final act into motion was completely out of nowhere. After all this time to set up the final confrontation, this is all the writers could come up with? I give the resolution of Dong Soo and Yeo Woon's story a little credit for being genuinely affecting and well-acted, but it's equally infuriating. To be clear, I'm not upset about the fact that it's sad; I'm upset about how we got there, and how much better it could have been.
And that last episode really was nearly unwatchable. Do we really need to pair off everyone? Is that what constitutes "closure"? Ugh.
Ultimately, I would give the first half (approximately) of this drama a 7. Solid, good, watchable, with potential for better things to come (I only give scores 8 and up to things I really like a lot--I'm picky that way). The latter half gets...something much lower than that. But I did finish it, which doesn't always happen, so I settled on a 4.5 for the overall rating. There are good parts and strong performances here, but the writing really did fall apart somewhere for me. I know a lot of people love this drama, and I can understand that, because the things this drama did well, it did really well. Cinematography, acting, epic, multi-generational, ill-fated friendships, and so on. But I think precisely because it does some things well, the things it didn't do so well (pacing and writing issues, chiefly) are glaringly obvious.

The storyline is great. It is great that this series tackled bullying in school and how does it form someone's personality and life. Nanon (Oh, Mushroom) is great in portraying his role as the victim of bullying. He then meets In, a transferee and Nam, as the class president. Three of them together be friends and got Sun as additional when twists of events happened.
The cinematography was great. The music chosen was fantastic! It's quite remarkable and brings fresh taste to the series. I like the fact that there are two couples, one is the regular one and other is a bl(boys' love). And the great thing is, this two couples' story doesn't interfere or eats the other story. They have both have different stories even the characters are in a circle of friends. Thanks to the writers.
Overall, it was a great series to watch. I want a Season 2! Please! I want to know what's next for Peach and Oh, and the great bl of In and Sun! :D God bless to all the people who made this series possible. :D

A very well done BL drama. Don't be fooled by the poster. This one pulls no punches. Literally.
WHAT I LIKED:
SEXUAL ORIENTATION TAKES A BACK SEAT TO ACTING and is not the first thing I noticed off the bat.. You don't have to be LGBT to watch this Movie. All you need to be is an understanding Human Being and you'll appreciate what this Film sets out to relay.
It's very WELL THOUGHT OUT.
It COMPROMISES NOTHING while remaining TASTEFUL.

still my favourite kdrama after 9 years and after my 9th rewatch
i could write a novel about how much i love goblin but all i will say is i just finished my 9th rewatch and i am surprised how despite knowing everything i still cried my eyes out watching the last two episodes. Truly such a tragic love story for our main and the second couple.i find this show to be perfect in a way i cant describe it
1) the casting is 10/10 they found the best and most fitting actor for each role especially thanking them for giving us the best second couple ever (LDW and YIN chemistry is unmatched). gong yoo being the coolest mc to ever exist and kim go eun just being gorgeous and adorable as ever. despite the unique relationship they both played the roles so well i just fell in love. Also thank the staff for casting yook sungjae and introducing me to one of my favourite kpop bands btob and my fav idol actor.
2) the ost is unmatched i think its the best ost i have heard in a kdrama till day, its still so good and iconic and i always listen to it and reminisce about the drama and watching it for the first time when it was airing
3) acting and cinematography also perfection this drama is beautiful and like the way its shot the lighting plus the amazing acting there really were no flaws
4) the plot and writing 10/19 i felt no string was left untouched everything came together beautifully and i felt it wasnt rushed at all which is sadly rare for kdramas coz alot of them fumble the last episode. this drama had sucha. great story with the historic past to the funny yet satisfying end. the way all the chars tied in together just was so so well done and didnt feel forced at all.
5) the balance of all the genres was perfect like there was a good amount of humour and a good amount of romance for it to be a romcom but its also well done as a historical fantasy with the flashbacks and all. the tragedy was amazingly written too like it truly had me breaking down so many times. it really has everything for everyone
now ik people hate on the main couple due to age gap but i hope u can still give it a chance. once u watch it u will realise the type of love they have is mkre than just romantic love. i think the second couple showed that kind of love well, the tragic yet beautiful love story that transcends time, they were made to fall in love with each other no matter the lifetime. Our goblin couple seemed different it was more of a soulmate connection, destined to be together....tied by fate. i think this trope is often messed up in mangas. manhwas and dramas coz it can get weird with reincarnation but goblin does it well. their love is much more wholesome and pure i would say.
either way i hope u give it a chance, i still believe to this day goblin is a perfect kdrama and the best kdrama ever, i will probably continue rewatching it every year like i have till now

a beautiful mutual unwavering crush
at first i thought this drama was like any other crush drama small memories from the past with leads getting together at the present but this was diffrent the present and the past hits the same multiple times we watch both the past and the present at the same time we even saw the FL predicting that the ML liked her back then while writing her novel espically the holding hand scene the ML hold the FL hands and instead of confessing hes crush he just said sorry wrong person while hiding a deep feeling only he knows about a feeling even 12 years couldnt make that feeling dissapear i wanna talk about the leads and the acting and how good the chemistry is honestly the kissing scenes wasnt too much after leads only got together at ep 24 sadly like a mutual crush story couldve been much earlier but they choose to make a new full slow burn for leads while returning to their old flames a flame that was cooking on a very low speed until they met together and that flame got even bigger and bigger the FL finally got to know the real ML the warm one instead of the cold and aloof one he was predicting to be and honestly if the ML never faked that personna and was real with the FL from the start maybe their interactions at the start wouldve been much smoother instead of many awkward scenes between them this ML acting is always top i remeber i watch you are my secret and he was good there too but honestly this drama did make 6 ep alomst fully focused on the ML and the FL but you are my secret did a much better job presenting the ML and FL dating and kissing even tho it was a one sided crush from the ML like there even tho it was a one sided crush they got together at ep 10 or smthing like that and the drama was 32 ep long with full growth of both the ML and the FL but overall I REALLY LIKED THIS DRAMA i was a bit dissapointed that they only got together at ep 24 but those last few ep already did the job espically their wedding night like it was like 3 or 4 min of them kissing this drama really hits diffrent butttt i really wouldve loved to see a time skip with their child and maybe second couple also get married (the ML bestfriend and the FL bestfriend) and maybe the ML sister and her friend confess and also get together we see the succese of the ML after comming back to china and the succese of the FL novel all over the world and the perfection of its adaption yes i really recommend this one dont give it up from the 15 ep the best ep are the last phew ay alomst forgot the story had sm thrill without drama between the couples the thrill was external tho this was one of the reason i liked this drama neither the second male lead neither the second female lead did anything to destroy the main couple relationship maybe a few tries from the second female lead but was a complete failure after the ML liked the FL for 12 years hes love cant be on impulse as she saidWas this review helpful to you?
