The forces of love

Episode 8 begins to show more of our leads’ character. Changyang’s two-year obsession for Qianlang, his focus in planning their eventual relationship. The pain that Qiantian’s past and his acting in this episode needs recognition. The reality of Chinese culture where being gay is not generally accepted by society and parents’ expectations from their children to marry and to bear children. Because it’s a society that averages 1 child per family the pressure is steep to keep the lineage going. Other societies may not have this intense pressure but this is China. And not addressing this matter in this series would just have made this a Cinderella story.

Highs and Lows

As a high point, the 'rescue' by Xin Qi, declaring publicly that he is Quanquan's father, was pretty epic. The proud family walk off was trey cool. The low point was the very last seconds of the episode when dumb-as-aa-post Chen Jiajun burst in to rain on the lead couple's happiness. (How exactly did he get into the hotel room? I guess we will ignore that.)

Xin Qi comes up with a good solution to resolve the misunderstanding

He avoids having to talk about his idiot sister's meddling by simply legally giving up custody to Min Hui, trusting that her love for Quanquan will mean he'll still get to see his son no matter what. This is a huge act of sincerity and trust on his part and it rapidly repairs all the damage caused by the stupid custody lawsuit. Later, we get a low-key hilarious, near-4th-wall-breaking meta discussion between ZhiZhu and RuJi on the fate of SML characters in dramas!!! And then even more hilarious scene of a drunk Cao Mu FaceTiming w/ JiaJunj, crying / scolding / apologizing because she missed him so much all day. For once the other couples step up with some entertainment! We end with another near-miss on a kiss between the leads ...

This show has an interesting story

I’m actually really liking it and I like that there are smaller mysteries that they need to solve as well as the main story arc that is also a mystery. However, I do wanna clear something up for someone who made a reaction about this episode. The cop did not turn into a lawyer. I don’t know how many Korean legal shows you’ve seen, but most prosecutor offices have a police officers assigned to that office, and they do investigation. That’s what he is. He’s not a lawyer.

She runs really fast

For a noodles Im can run really fast. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣kidding. But kids nowadays are totally out of mind because think the law can protect them everytime. It should have a law that if a kid practices the same violence and violations more than three times, they must be treated like an adult by the law.

IT'S GETTING BETTER AND BETTER

I love how this series portrays the struggles of a real and complicated mother-daughter relationship. It captures how hard it is to let go of the guilt that comes with standing up to your mother, how difficult it is to stop doing everything you can to please her and avoid conflict. At the same time, it also shows how painful it is to deal with the emotional manipulation that follows when you finally find the strength to set boundaries, stand your ground, and put your own feelings first.

Don't do with others what you don't want to happen to you

If there is a protective mother like that and an agressive father too, I would do the same. It is illegal to have contact out of the school management and current parents are like that; They yink their children should be happy and well educated at school, bt they forget that as parents, the first education comes from home(them). This 2000s reality sucks.

Correcting the lines

People think the orgnization only looks for children and abuse the bulliers, but this episode showed the difference that no matter if it is a student or a teacher, whoever is the culprit, will pay the price. And OMG again... That influencer girl appeared in this episode because there is a connection too.

This is the episode I was looking for

When I decided to watch this drama, I waned to find the scene of the FL doing her taekwondo moves or whathever to teach the popular influencer a lesson. I could never imagine how the episodes 1 to 3 are connected somehow.

Dejavu

I don't know why, bu one of the troublemakers looks like that ML of Demon Hunters(not the movie, but the korean drama) and I can't believe there is a High School like that in the world.🤣🤣🤣🤣 And I almost believed that the helper is an innocent geek nerd guy trying to study in a chaotic school.

How come no scolding?

I get it that he loves and forgives his sister and he overall likes his man Hardy, but both of them needed to be severely scolded to understand just how much trouble they caused. They both want Quanquan in Xi Qi's life, but their foolishness put that at serious risk. It's the kind of thing that needs to be said so that everyone is clear on the potential consequences of meddling in someone else's personal life. But for some reason, the writers have made Xi Qi - brutal CEO boss who never hesitates to be critical of others ... doesn't say anything to either? Just like when he had a clear chance to explain to Min Hui that the custody lawsuit was mistakenly filed by his sister, he just stands suddenly tongue-tied? If real people communicated as poorly as drama writers imagine, then the world would grind to a halt. Still I'm glad they avoided the trope of the elder sister actually being a villain in opposition to the FL. She was well-meaning but just completely misinformed. So there is hope this misunderstanding could get resolved soon and not dragged out for 10 episodes.

Confused, intrigued and already suspicious

I spent a good chunk of this episode trying to figure out what was going on 😂 There are clearly a lot of connections and backstory being introduced.😱 LWX being blamed for her professor’s death and called his mistress was brutal. The moment she looked like she might jump genuinely had me worried.⚽ My favourite scene was LWX chasing the school boy to get the football returned. A little bit of chaos amongst all the heavier moments 😂👀 Somehow LWX is connected to two deaths and there also seems to be some history or connection between her and WF.💭 I don’t fully understand everything yet, but I’m intrigued. Also, visually speaking, LWX and WF are both gorgeous on screen 😂Current verdict: confused but intrigued.

Master of disguises

Lol, how he used so many different disguises for different situations... but she could easily connect the dots and understand that it was someone pretending. I love how smart she is! And I love how versatile he is with his ways of deception. 🤗😏And the best thing? They actually think alike about almost everything — that she had to add poison, when the imperial guards would come and what they would do, and so many other situations... I really can't wait for their games against each other and eventual team-up... 😊And whatever he says to Tian Yuan, it's clear as a cloudless sky that he's smitten. And not only him — I am quite sure the 9th prince is too! 🤭
