When Strength Meets Truth on the Battlefield

First ImpressionAnother intense battle episode but this time the FL completely owns it.Episode ThoughtsThe episode kicks off with the FL fully stepping into battle mode, even saving Captain Li from a deadly hit. Her kindness might come back to bite her, but it shows exactly who she is at her core.What stood out the most was her dynamic with the ML. He tries to protect her, telling her to stay behind him, but completely underestimates her. She proves—again—that she doesn’t need saving, taking down key enemies and holding her own in every fight. Honestly, she’s the one dominating the battlefield.Meanwhile, chaos continues with Sui Yuanhuai. He’s as ruthless as ever, and the conflict escalates when the FL takes on his father in a brutal hand-to-hand fight. Even injured, she pushes through and wins, but it leads to a huge revelation—her father might be the supposed traitor. You can feel that internal shift starting for her.Back at camp, we get a softer moment with the FL and the Royal Princess. Their friendship is growing into something really genuine, but it’s quickly interrupted by Captain Li, who is clearly holding onto resentment. His pride and emotions feel like they’re setting up future problems, and honestly… he’s giving red flag energy.On the bigger scale, the Su brothers continue to spiral, killing without hesitation, while Qi Min plays his own dangerous game. The power struggle is only getting darker from here.Character Notes • FL: Absolutely stealing the show. Strong, capable, and emotionally grounded—she doesn’t wait to be saved, she acts. • ML: Strategic as always, but still underestimating the FL. His protectiveness clashes with who she truly is. • Captain Li: Hurt ego = future chaos. Roller coaster or merry-go-round?

On one hand, this episode was a roller coaster emotionally. One minute you are thrilled to see romantic progress ... then frustrated as it once again slams against the walls of the ML's gigantic emotional issues.And on the other hand, it feels like a merry-go-round that keeps circling tighter and tighter as the story keeps covering the same territory in ever tighter circles. It's also clear that at this point the character with the most painful, hindering disability is the ML. He's so damaged that he has put himself in a tiny box, unable to really live. His entire existence depends on giving everything of himself to his brother due to the contrived guilt and obligation that he has put upon himself. As a result, he has nurtured a gigantic martyr complex to go along with his solid-stone emotional walls all which surround a growing core of resentment, self-pity, anger and, yes, also the potential for love and happiness.The show's plot for ML has been a sequence of sub-arcs in which the ML takes at first tiny and then bigger and bigger steps outside the box, but each time he has either run back inside in fear or something has happened to shove him back in. This episode seemed to encapsulate more than one such cycle, ending in the traumatic scene at the end.

The Weight of Becoming

First ImpressionThis episode felt like a turning point — emotionally heavy, but also setting the FL firmly on her path.Episode ThoughtsThis episode dives deeper into both the political chaos and the emotional weight our characters are carrying. The male lead uncovers more about Qi Min, realising he is the Imperial grandson and rightful heir — which makes everything even more dangerous considering how unstable he is. He’s ruthless, killing without hesitation, but at the same time, every scene he’s in is so compelling to watch. His interaction with Manager Yu, where he opens up about the massacre from 17 years ago, adds another layer to his character, and somehow she manages to escape.On the FL’s side, we really see her struggling with the reality of killing. She just wants to protect her people, but that leads to a meaningful conversation with the Grand Tutor, who challenges her thinking. He makes her realise that her abilities are too important to ignore — especially after everything she’s already done to protect the city. It’s a tough internal conflict because she still sees the enemy as people like her and the thug boys, not faceless enemies.Her meeting with General Hu feels like it should be a big moment, especially with the hint that we might learn more about her parents. But of course, he keeps quiet and pushes it off until after the battle — which, let’s be honest, is never a good sign. Their sparring scene was great, and the reveal that he was the one who named her adds a deeper emotional connection for the audience, even if she doesn’t know it yet.Captain Li returns, still clearly crushing on the FL, but is quickly sent off on a mission to stop the enemy. Meanwhile, the FL comes to a big decision — she can’t sit this out. After everything, she chooses to fight and steps into her role, fully suited in the battle gear given to her by General Hu. It really feels like the moment she’s becoming the fighter she’s meant to be.Character NotesThe female lead continues to grow in such a compelling way. Her internal struggle with killing versus protecting people feels real, and this episode really pushes her toward becoming a true fighter.The male lead is more in the background here but is uncovering important truths about Qi Min, which will definitely matter later.Qi Min is chaotic and dangerous, but honestly, he’s magnetic every time he appears.The Grand Tutor once again plays a key role in guiding the FL, while General Hu feels important but suspiciously temporary given the “after the battle” comment.Captain Li is still holding onto his feelings, adding a quiet layer of tension.Final ThoughtsThis episode is all about hard choices and stepping into who you’re meant to be. It feels like the calm before something big, with the FL finally choosing to fight. like i keep saying Minato isn't just determined…

like i keep saying Minato isn't just determined he is also freakin patient - i don't know how he can keep calm in the presence of Wataru acting like a skittish animal that's about to boult t any moment. it's giving me a rash just watching his behavior. very uncomfortable & irritable. i know i wouldn't be able to put up with this type of behavior - cause regardless of why Wataru is being this jittery, as he almost never voices his inner fears it comes off like he is scared Minato is gonna jump or corner him into something he doesn't want or isn't ready for - either way it's like Minato is the big-bad-wolf & this would really piss me off. given how understanding & considerate Minato is being of this insecure fool

Battle of Luochengg Battle Sequence

Another Epic battle scene of the series. Prince CX /Heir Apparent SYQ vs Xie/He army + CY makeshift troops. Yes I called it makeshift troops cuz they are just gang memberedwith some fighting skills. Then she knocked out fighting General in the name of savings his life. Then enter battlefield, took SYQ ended as costing Mandi life,.Then as usual, confrontation with Lord CX costing Xie Wu career BUT killed the most legendary rebel prince all alone at the end .And boom SYQ slip fro XZ in expense of his General . And Poor General He died alone over city wall.It's a very messy writing ,I can say it's the worse writing throughout the whole drama .The choreography for fighting scene is still great and CY fight is believable but the whole battle sequence is hard to follow like I don't know what's going on in first watch. The editing is choppy and let alone other characters, CY characters is butchered to the point of Mary Sue FL and borderline unlikeable character in one stroke. The only redeeming scene for this episode is CY weeping for lost solders or may be for her family past .For me she is completely accountable for Mandi dead, Xie Wu injury and LHA hatred in expense of her own military merits. (I know it's war, dead and injuries are inevitable 🤪)I never forgive the script writer for this epi. Actually, the second arc is already messy and the last 3 episodes can't stop the train wreck.Hope the last palace arc can deliver but very bad news is all episodes are leaked which means the remaining 10 epi will be hit or miss, let's wait and see as a viewer who has Kiwi, we TV and Netflix subscription . Give this episode rating 10 to honor my poor soul😭🤣

i am impressed by Minato, he isn't gonna give up or dance around the bush - he made his feelings very clear - there aint a vague word uttered & the more Wataru tries to keep platonic distance between them, that doesn't deter Minato. he keeps chipping at Wataru's walls. my hats off to his fighting spirit i wouldn't be working this hard for someone that is fighting me this hard. they need to communicate, then just brush the subject off - but Wataru is the one that's running & he will not get roped into a conversation that could change his mind. the way he is acting i am starting to wonder if he wouldn't rather break off the relationship they have, then get into one that might end -
