Who is the real villain?

I think Gao, uncle, is the real one. He created the cold and ruthless NH to make him to be the future Emperor, yet real NH, the kind NH from childhood is still there as LS. But I still don't get who killed Empress. Was it Gao? I am sure Emperor did investigate the assassination of her after he accused of NH to be the cause. Did Emperor found out it was done by Gao? That's the reason why he hates NH? I thought Emperor wants NH to be crown prince, but as long as he arrives Emperor cannot appoint him as so he pretends like he chooses 18th prince? And where are the rest of princes? Gao killed them all but left 18th bcoz he is dumb? Is that the reason why Emperor tries to protect NH? Hard to guess!

Spy vs spy

The players are circling wanting the truth spun from their view. Third prince is not concerned with the actual truth as long as he can tie it to 4th prince. The princess and chancellor both know 4th prince is innocent and wanting the truth discovered. Ms Meng has a POS relative that wants to spend more effort spending and cheating than simply putting in the work to accomplish the task on his own. Circumstances point to the arrogant scholar that wanted to buy exam question. He argued with 2nd prince and pushed him, then fled from the scene rather than try to help injured prince. There is a slight discrepancy with lotus footprints and possibly two spots with blood clues. The investigation is still in progress. Ms Meng is becoming more like her father. She tortures scholar parents to get confession about pendant and then has aide’s parents to impede investigation. She stands her ground with chancellor over antidote pills and reach an agreement. The third prince makes a point to delay antidote to see how chancellor will react. He is like the cat that likes to play with his food. He rather likes smiling from the sidelines watching the discomfort caused by his machinations. Ms Meng is going to a dark place but fully invests herself. This is her only means to control her life so she will do nothing half assed. She knows what her brother endured and willing to uphold his legacy at all costs. She knows the chancellor has a deep grudge against her family, but I am not sure she knows why. She most likely thinks it is due to her family ties to silver mine rather than a very personal vendetta because of his parents’ murders. I also don’t know if third prince understands the tie between chancellor, 4th prince and Meng family. He is hitting the right tones to make these resonate with the chancellor, even if unknowingly. Does the household wear the same soled shoes or was Princess also there? That is a big question for chancellor. The bodyguard is being sent home to find Prince. The princess will not be swayed and has given her a general direction to head to find him. I believe she is cutting off chancellor and guard so they aren’t a weakness for her til she has antidote recipe. She also wants them distant in case her luck runs out and she dies waiting on antidote. I enjoyed watching the pair interrogate jade crafters. They both reached same conclusion. The princess’ knack with art and memory is a valuable skill set. Third prince would be handling things differently if he was aware. As the characters play different players in chess, I wonder what they see and how it makes them strategize. I would like to see Ms Meng and Princess play a game and Princess and chancellor. That would make for some interesting interactions. The emperor is in increasingly poor shape but at least coherent enough to recognize the significance of the evidence and to let the chancellor investigate. I hope the emperor changes the exam question to level the playing field for all participants.

A way of literally telling you that I love you more than any of my beloved snakes.

It is the usual, "I screamed, I laughed, and I feel so in love" kind of episode.Starting the EP with two men sharing a cozy bed, with a line from Da Bao saying, "Actually, I quite like you." Can't help to giggle the same way Chi Cheng undoubtedly did the most mischievous act that comes out from the top of his head -by touching the Junior of our baby Da Bao hahaha.Then, we got the vibes of hotness from our two leading men. Chi Cheng and Cheng Yu's explicit sexiness from their walk-in entrances. It's not just from the power of their manly shoes, but more on how they know how to build their charisma from their tall figure, and the hairstyle just makes their appearance hotter.We also learned that Chi Cheng still values their friendship by choosing not to hurt Cheng Yu physically during the fight to save the snakes.Speaking of safe, we witness how Chi Cheng ended up with the life of his most precious snake to save the dying Da Bao. I just love how these snakes play an important role in metaphorically conveying the feelings of Chi Cheng. Him, staying all night to watch and wait until Da Bao wakes up, just pours so much love and feels. I burst out laughing so hard when Chi Cheng held Da Bao in a very intimate way for an injection. The funnier thing is that the Doctor doesn't even care and acted so professional from the uncanny thing these two just did hahahaha.And finally, Yue Yue and Chi Cheng's relationship ended just like that. All thanks to our Da Bao's unusual plan, even when he is suffering from the injuries of the snake-incident haha.Love it so much!

Moreover Wang Qinian got such capabilities but how is he still a clerk, it's definitely to conceal his real identity, cause of he's so capable how is he still a clerk. He's been following Fan Xian around for some time now, and Fan Xian understands that he must have some reason to follow him around. Omg Uncle Wuzhu has come to the place which Lin Gong has chosen for temporary rest in their journey to the South. And then pierced his heart. Lin Gong's dead by Wuzhu's hands. Master Wuzhu killed so many Martial artists in such a short period of time, he's really a Grandmaster. The Crown Prince and the Prime Minister Lin Ruofu both has come to meet Fan Xian to talk about Lin Gong's death but atleast he doesn't has to choose anyone now, Emperor's verbal edict came at the right time for Fan Xian to be summoned to the Palace.
