Cute

I enjoyed this. I think it had a lot of potential and could have been better, but if you're in the mood to watch something sweet without thinking too much about it, then it's worth a watch.

It was a bit difficult to buy into some of the situations. I think that's because the movie plays on its predecessors for eccentric storylines, but didn't really know how to lay the foundation for them. Like in the beginning when the two debtors were there watching the boy dancing, I think it would have been stronger if both debtors watched him dance, but the secondary debtor (Mr. Kim) left early because he didn't get it. And yet, the first debtor (Jin Hong Seok) couldn't leave because he was so drawn into the dancing. Mr. Kim kind of helps ground us in reality, and emphasizes how Hong Seok is different from most people. That kind of emphasis on the dynamic helps support the eccentric nature of the storyline.

There were some scenes where I was like, ehhh this could be done a bit better. Sometimes the positioning of a character between cuts would be inconsistent, which was a bit distracting. Probably not for most people, but I tend to get distracted by minor details unfortunately haha.

Their first kiss scene was another point I was a bit disappointed by. The dialogue suggests impulsivity, passion, and then suddenly stopping. But the emotions weren't brought out strongly enough, and the transitions between these stages felt smooth. Here, the emotions in the scene could have come out stronger by occurring suddenly instead of smoothly. It's a very emotion driven plot, but I don't think the emotions came out as well on screen.

So basically what I'm saying is, the movie felt a bit like it was under its potential. It could have been polished just a bit more. However, it was still entertaining and I did enjoy myself! Its quirky storyline reminded me of the kind of shows that drew me to kdramas in the first place.

I did like the way they used slowmo, which is rare for me as slowmo is a pet peeve of mine. But the slow motion wasn't too slow, and it continued the scene. And I liked when the sounds of the scene played over the slowmo. It felt.... almost dreamlike? That was a really nice touch.

It's a cute movie.

Worth watching

Watched this with zero expectations, just intrigued by the title. Everything about this is great, the subject, story, and the storytelling. The final scene is especially satisfying.

The story revolves around the relationship between a coach and an athlete. it asks whether you should do something just for your own enjoyment regardless of the results. On should you do everything you can to be the best regardless of the price? Here the main character isn't given a choice, as the decision is made by those around him. But in the end he does manage to force his own will on the situation.

It's not lighthearted.i saw only one funny moment. Still if you want to watch something that will stir your emotions, give this a try. In it's own way, it is as inspirational as any other sports movie.

Wasting a Sunday afternoon...

I was trying to find light, fluffy movies to pass some time over the weekend and stumbled upon this (on YouTube).

Someone "please enlighten me" as to why this movie made it out of production.

Oh my ... my, my, my, my, my ... what a mess this was.

Not even a hot mess either; more like a hairball left neglected in the corner.

Damp and gross (slightly unhygienic).

The main leads were sawdust and cobwebs.

I didn't get their connection; the story was rushed and they had no real time to develop feelings.

There was no character growth, no one to cheer for, no chemistry, and no real story.

Watch if you need background noise for a nap.

It was very enjoyable

I just watched this movie after watching the drama and I have to say that I enjoyed this version a lot more.

I don't know why, but the movie filled me with a sense of reality.

I'm Occidental so I don't know much of the daily life in China, but the general ambience , the internet place, the girl's dorms, the guy's dorm, the ML's office, the college as a whole felt more real, lived on maybe... Less sterile for sure than the drama, and that five minutes into the movie made me feel welcome.

The plot was good (taking into consideration they had to put 30 HS of drama story into 1.30 of film) there were changes that actually made sense.

The Main Leads. I loved Angelababy performance as WeiWei. She was so quirky and passionate, and cute and smart. And not to attack drama's WeiWei, but in her case there were curves so the girls teasing made sense. As I haven't read the novel, drama WeiWei seemed too bland sometimes after the first 15 episodes, not the actress fault, more the plot.
This WeiWei was more funny, more real, and more natural to me. Less stiff. And less prone to ask for permission and more into actually taking initiative sometimes. I liked that.
As much as I liked Yang Yang aesthetics, Jing Bo Ran's Xiao Nai was good too. I loved that he seemed more real not this idealised stoic ultra cool king-like guy that watched everything from his throne above mere mortals but more like a very intelligent, and slightly aloof young man pursuing his dream and dealing with all that comes with it (the bank loan was a nice touch) and his relationship with his friends is also more of equals in opposition to the drama version where he acted as boss rather than friend most of the time. A sad thing we didn't have much time to explore that.

The ML/FL relationship felt natural to me, he didn't stalked her and that was great. She was comfortable enough to talk with him in a normal way too after their first meeting, also she surprised him with nice gestures and her help. Drama version FL never seemed to act like he was HER boyfriend—I don't know how to express it; she was awesomed by him to the end, and that kinda put her in unequal ground. She helped him too but never with her skills and knowledge. I felt the drama wasted WeiWei skills and the movie actually used them
The only point I liked more about the drama (besides Yang Yang kissing and YeCheng being in the cast and with a cute story too) was the interaction of the guys with WeiWei (calling her Mrs Nai, being protective of her and their silly banter when in game mode.) The movie's pace rushed their entire relationship. A loss.

Most of her roomies were wasted (Seven Tan, love her) but in the drama only ErXi was given some depth so it wasn't much of a change either. I understand that it was for time issues.
I love the cosplay at the event and her friends mixing with some of the guys too.

All in all I enjoyed this movie a lot and plan on watching it again whenever I'm in the mood for something sweet and simple; sometimes I don't need convoluted plots and love dodecahedrons to enjoy a story, just something cute and easy.

Something exactly like this movie

A short story about confessing to a crush

Overall: a short (10 minutes) story about a webtoon writer and his crush. You can watch it on gagaoolala.

Content Warnings: none

What I Liked
- Yoo-seong's shirt "keep cool, don't run..."
- the chicken costume was cute
- I liked the boss's character

Room For Improvement
- we aren't given any background on how or why Yoo-seong developed the crush on Tae-woo
- it's an open ending, sometimes I don't mind them but normally I wish there was more resolution. We really have no idea how things turn out at the end of this.

Very fast...

As a reader of the actual novel, I wasn't aware of this adaptation since not that long ago, so I gave it a try and... It truly feels like it was very fast, too fast. Note that I will judge because of what I read, make some little comparisons and will also tell what I felt about it.

So, I don't know why they decided to adapt it that way, but the way their relationship was rushed is clearly something that doesn't seems right to me, it doesn't seems as natural and simple as I was expecting it to be. For a short movie like this, it was expected, but they could only adapt a short part of the story with their cute interactions at the beginning for example such as the way Lin Zhixiao met the Doctor with an apple and offered the apple to him but then she realised that the apple was only half peeled. They made the apple a thing though, it was a cute reference, but only as a reference, it truly meant nothing as a watcher only.

The way they tell us some details about the story is really abrupt. These informations are mostly coming from nowhere and that's mostly caused to the rushing of the actual story.

It also seems like their characters changed a bit, I don't remember Dr Gu being this flirty, not that I mind it actually but it's so strange. Same for Lin Zhixiao, she's just being a cute young lady here. Their chemistry is quite nonexistant, that's quite sad but also understanding since they really rushed the process of it. The actors themselves also seems like they're kind of lacking, espacially Dr Gu's, Xu Fangzhou (I'm adding this as an other reason for their chemistry to be only meh).

What I found interesting though was how San San was portrayed here, she really is different to Lin Zhixiao and they showed it well. I really loved her and was happy when she came as gorgeous as she was supposed to be. They have a really good chemistry together, almost better than the actual couple themselves and that's funny when you see a particular moment between these two in the movie that was a nice touch to their relationship.

I won't talk about the ending scene in details but I thought that it was an interesting way to end it even if it wasn't something their actual characters would do.

So in the end, is it watcheable? Yes, it is.
Is it worth it? Well, if you're waiting like me for the drama adaptation of it, it's maybe worth giving it a try.

A brother's visit disrupts an established couple's life

Overall: It's so refreshing to see an established couple instead of the pursuit part of a relationship. I wish this was a whole series (but that they don't pretend to be roommates for too long). The couple can become more spontaneous/carefree and the brother can learn to be more responsible/pick up after himself.

Content Warnings: none?*

What I Liked
- an established couple
- the sound effects and music enhanced the story
- I laughed at several parts like the suitcase falling down the stairs, the brother listening in at the door, etc.
- always happy to see supplies for safe sex :)

Room For Improvement/Questions
- disliked when the brother *slapped his brother, it's fine to be angry but don't punch/slap people and he didn't even apologize
- I wish the phone conversation at the end was a bit more clear, I think "couple" was supposed to be translated to "partner" or "boyfriend" (the later would have made things very clear)
- is a 1 bedroom apartment in Seoul only $420 USD per month? Or maybe Taeho is paying less than half? Or is it a subtitle error?
- did I miss the reference to another Strongberry film? I noticed that "Sweet Curse" has a reference to "Some More" which has a reference to "Long Time No See" which has a reference to the Strongberry website... It's always fun to spot the references.

First Love at its best!!

The way I cried at the end!! What a beautiful movie!! I can't believe I hadn't watched this till now in spite of it being in my to watch list since a long time..It captures the essence of first love and all the awkward and cute things associated with it. Part funny, part romantic and part heartbreaking the movie never fails to keep you entertained throughout its runtime.
Baifern is a wonderful actress and never fails to amaze in anything she does. To see that she was so talented right from her starting days is not a surprise considering the powerhouse performer she is today. Her eyes alone convey so many emotions. Mario Maurer as Shone is extremely handsome and a perfect boyfriend material. The confession scene towards the end was heartbreaking and the twist right after though a little predictable was so poignant and heartwarming.
The supporting cast does an excellent job in making the movie very relatable and special mention should be given to Nam's friends and the drama teacher.
It has definitely made a place in my all time favorite movies and I will surely rewatch it multiple times!!

The movie for all ages and times

I watched it as a child, watching it as a teenager, watch as an adult, and if life allows me, I will assist in my old age.

I don't like comedy movies and this work won me over. I recommend it to everyone, but I believe it is not for everyone.

If you are reading this review looking for something different this is definitely a good choice. Even if at first you think a little exaggerated gave it a chance. Maybe you're surprised and add something very interesting to your watch list.

A meaningful CNY movie

Gave this movie a try and i really really enjoy it. It is not just a trip to mend the broken pieces of the family but also expose us viewers to some cultures and traditions, places of attrraction (like concubine lane, kellie castle, and etc and beautiful sceneries of Malaysia. The cast did an amazing job. Some parts are very funny, others are pretty emotional as well. One more cool thing about this movie is the song, sang in cantonese, mandarin and hokkien. Some might think mixing this 3 languages in a song is a disaster but it turns out to be very catchy, and a song suit very well for a Chinese New Year Song. Rewatch value? Well, it will take some time for me to come back but i will definitely watch this movie again in the near future.

Also, this is my 1st time writing an actual review so yea...

This is a really good thriller! The very fact that it featured a deaf witness make this a very unique story.

Being targeted by a serial killer who chooses his victims at random and kill without any reason was a scary scenario normally. Even more when you have a disability that may hinder you to seek help or even to protect yourself. Which is why the situation in the movie was scary.

I have to say that I really applaud Jin Kijoo in acting as a deaf person in this movie. Her acting, as well as the actress who played as her mother were really good at bringing out the tense situation on being targeted by a killer while having a great disadvantage of not being able to hear your suroundings as well as not being able to speak clearly.

Not good movie but not bad either

Even this movie so many plot hole in here and there (a bit confused too), but for me this is still enjoyable. I think the reason the main character have time traveled because for his own good who always blame everyone and can't accept himself '-'
I really love Miyoshi Ayaka's looks in this movie! She has an elegance aura, her character is straightforward, know what she's doing, and one of the reasons make the main character (Ito Kentaro) changes prespective about himself.

For the romance maybe not too much because the main story isn't only focus there, but just see Rai - Rinko I know they're really love each others. And I'm glad they met again in the present time while holding the paper depicted of Kokiden Nyogo's <3 Like the headline, overall this movie it's not bad and not good either but still worth and enjoyable to watch! :D

No regrets

Of course the story line may looks unethical but why I doesn’t feel like that is I have seen number of cases like this, I am not justifying it is correct but sometimes at some helpless week times it will happens. The director successfully portrayed the actual life of a normal who encounters difficulties in professional and personal life who doesn’t have anyone to protect and no one to share the feelings and humble to be loved by someone. I am fully satisfied with the ending, few may think that the FL ruined her own life but by that way she teach the good lesson to those perpetrators who ruined her life.

The ending. The ending alone is what made this WHOLE thing worth watching. Had it not ended that way, I think I would have put a tanked rating.
But, let's be honest. The pace of this movie sucked. I wanted to change the speed of it so bad but wasn't able to. I feel like this took 5 hours to watch (I know it didn't. Just feels that way) so I really hated the pace. I know it was all meant to be "build up" but I mean come on.... most of it was silent staring at the screen.

I can't hate on anyone's acting. I think they were all quiet good. I mean... how can you derate a voice? Lol (I'm kidding, but yes. his character's A.I personality was mushy and soft and I loved it). Just kinda sucks everyone she ever knew pretty much told her to give up her dreams (minus her bestie and love. so props to them. Everyone else is a dick)
I'm so glad she didn't agree to go to paris. I'm glad she didn't agree to a lot of things and I'm glad that in the end, she really did fight for her dream.

What I HATED was the end of the year thing. I fucking cried, thank you. That HURT!! Did even I simp for a A.I system? ....mayhaps...... I can feel your judgment..... stop. Lol

The ending... the ACTUAL ending. After all the tears.. that ending was perfect.... but left me with questions. It's only been a year. and we all know who walked in through that door. But now I'm paranoid because I want to know how. Like if where he came from didn't exist like she said. If even HE didn't know who made him or where he came from.... how are you suddenly... there? If gives me "I'm really a stalker in a basement watching you" vibes, and that's scary okay.
Like I wanted this to be the cute adorable happy ending that it was... buuuuut my paranoia got questions okay. Way to many questions and absolutely no answers. We don't like this. Sir, who are you really and did you hightech stalk this chick?

It was a cute movie though. If you want to fluffy movie to pass this time, this one is the one.

It made me smile and cry at the same time.

So, let me start by thanking people by giving me the link. I never had so much problem finding a movie before, but honestly, this is a worldwide treasure, so I understand…lol. Second of all, this was just so lovely, pure, and honest to God, AWESOME! Their acting is so on point that honestly, I want them to be for real between them!

Now, I do have some questions. I do hope that members can informed me about my questions. I know there is going to be a second series (awesome) but, will the series pickup where the movie left? Are they going to do the same but now one in NY and the other one at home? I mean, it’s possible and realistic since covid-19 is still around the world. Not only that, we also have Delta, Lambada, and other ones out there.

That is all…lol.
