Tears won't go away

Holy! I didn't expect this series to be so good to the point I started to crave more episodes like a wild beast searching for food. This series honestly blew my mind! I was bored and saw clips of it on tiktok and decided to watch it. Best decision of my life. I've watched a few Thai royalty series before and so far I've never had a bad series, they are all good that's why I decided to give this a watch!

I'm still watching it as of now so I can't really say how the series is overall BUT its been so good so far! There's no boring episodes at all trust me bro. I've kicked air, made a few air punches and fan girled so hard that I'm sure the people in building can verify that. Anyways if you're thinking whether you should watch it or not take this as a sign to go do it! We can hold hands as we watch this series as we wait for the next episodes lol!

As Comforting as Chicken and Rice

I think Moonlight Chicken is the very definition of a comfort show. Like, all the ingredients are there. You have lovable characters, each with their own background that gives them so much more depth, the Moonlight Chicken itself, which is just a little hub of solidarity and mutual support, Uncle Jim acting as everyone’s emotional anchor, and, of course, some chicken and rice because honestly… you really can’t go wrong with chicken and rice.

I think Moonlight Chicken is just a really safe show to go back to. It deals with some genuinely heavy topics while still knowing when to throw in a little bit of lightness. It doesn’t really feel like a BL that is trying to build some huge, dramatic love story. It feels much more like a slice of life where people slowly find a home in each other. A found family, basically.

And the cast? Absolutely incredible. You can genuinely tell these actors know each other well, and the chemistry between them feels so effortless and natural. Nothing ever feels forced.

Personally, I really loved Alan and Wen’s relationship. I actually found it surprisingly refreshing because the show allows us to see what happens when love has already faded for one person, while the other is still very much attached.

First, even though Alan can be a tiiiinyyyyy bit annoying at first glance -_- , I think his character does a really good job of showing what it means to grieve a relationship that was such a huge part of your everyday life and, ultimately, of who you became.

And his tears? Yeah, those got me.

Because Alan isn’t just dealing with losing someone. He’s also learning that sometimes loving someone means accepting that you have to let them go. And honestly, I thought that was beautifully done.

Now, obviously, I cannot talk about Moonlight Chicken without talking about Heart and Li Ming.

LORD HAVE MERCY.

These two literally stole the show.

Their relationship is explored so much through touch and body language, and I think that gives them a depth that a lot of couples don’t get. There’s something so intimate about the way they communicate without actually saying much.

Like… those three fingers under the chin? THAT’S THE SWEETEST SHIT I’VE EVER SEEN.

With Heart and Li Ming, it’s not really about what is being said. It’s about what is being felt. And I think that’s exactly why their screen time feels so precious. We’re not waiting for them to confess their love. We’re waiting for them to actually live it.

So yeah. I’m sold.

I really would have loved a few more episodes just to watch these two stare at each other with those eyes that scream, “I would cross the entire world just to be by your side.” akijdpvisdezeuhze. I love them WAY too much.

Now, moving on to Uncle Jim because… sir. I’m not going to try to excuse or defend him when he says:

“Isn’t it difficult enough to be poor, now you’re gay?”

First of all, what an absolutely insane own goal. But more than that, I found it particularly selfish. I know Uncle Jim and Li Ming’s relationship is complicated. These two are stubborn as hell, and they clearly love each other deeply while also seemingly making it their life’s mission to disagree with each other.

But Uncle Jim’s reaction to Li Ming coming out is simply not justifiable to me. It doesn’t help Li Ming, it doesn’t help their relationship, it doesn’t help anyone. If anything, it only adds to the guilt Uncle Jim already carries.

And now we get to my BIGGEST beef with this series.

The flash-forward....

I cannot talk about this without getting annoyed all over again.

I actually really like Wen and Uncle Jim’s relationship. I think it’s beautiful. But the problem is that both of them spend SOOO much time trying to close doors on their past that we barely get to see them actually build a future together.

Wen has his ex. Uncle Jim has his nephew, his ex — this asshole — and his sister who apparently just respawns out of nowhere. And then Gaipa shows up like, “You know what would really help this situation? A confession.”

Sir. Read the room.

There are SO many things to deal with, on top of all the money problems, that by the time we reach episode eight, it feels like there’s barely any time left to explore what Wen and Jim could actually become together because the past is constantly knocking on the door.

And honestly, I do understand why the story goes there. Moonlight Chicken is, at its core, about learning how to find an anchor in another person. You can see that especially in all those “almost kiss” scenes, where Wen gets closer and Uncle Jim just can’t bring himself to accept the kiss because you can still feel how much his past haunts him.

So obviously, I was waiting SO FUCKING PATIENTLY for the moment when Uncle Jim would finally stop pulling away.

And then—

NOPE.

The flash-forward basically speed-ran their relationship to a point where I was sitting there like, WAIT. I WAS READY TO WAIT FOR THIS.

I wanted to see all those little steps. I wanted to see how these two people, with all their baggage, slowly figured out how to build something together.

So imagine my frustration when everyone is sitting around the table and Uncle Jim just casually goes:

“Yeah, this is Wen, my boyfriend.”

EXCUSE ME???

WHERE IS MY “WILL YOU BE MY BOYFRIEND?” MOMENT???

I WANTED THAT.

I needed that.

I deserved that. (:‚‹」∠)

Okay, maybe I’m being slightly dramatic. But I still maintain that a couple more episodes would not have killed anyone.

And finally, we need to talk about my ULTIMATE COMPLAINT: GAIPA X ALAN.

You cannot imagine my excitement when I found out there was going to be a FirstKhao pairing.

Throughout the entire show, I was sitting there with one eyebrow permanently raised like:

“Okay… okay… surely this is going somewhere.”

Every time they were in the same general vicinity, I was like :

"Come on. This is it. They’re finally going to notice each other."

NOPE.

We got Leng trying to play wingman and Alan showing up in his full banker outfit to give Gaipa the papers.

THE PAPERS... !?

That was it.

I’m sorry, but I was robbed.

I’m not saying I needed a whole romance arc. I’m just saying… maybe… perhaps… a little something would have been nice?

Anyway.

Despite all my complaints, Moonlight Chicken is ultimately a comfort show in every sense of the word. You consume it as easily as chicken and rice. It’s warm, it’s familiar, it makes you smile, and there’s something incredibly comforting about watching all these people slowly find their place with one another.

The cast is fantastic, the story is genuinely touching and there’s no denying that you have a good time watching it.

And then GeminiFourth show up. At that point, it’s no longer just a good time that you have.

It’s UNFORGETTABLE

Not Exactly liked it

First of all, it’s already a miracle that I didn’t drop this series. After rage-baiting me for 9 episodes (yes, 9, because I had some expectations during the first three), the damage control they tried to do in the last two episodes was diabolical 😭. The soup and porridge will haunt me forever.

There was a lot of explanation in the last episode, and I tried to grasp as much as I could. Apparently, Xiao Fan wanted Lyu Qing to remember him, even if it was through hate. Meanwhile, Lyu Qing was trying to make that money so he could leave the house and stay with Xiao Fan in peace.

Despite all this, it doesn’t change the fact that their relationship was way too toxic. Maybe they really did change over the last five years, who knows 🤣. At least they’re gone!!! Bye-bye.

But even though the story was showing"t, I can’t ignore the fact that the chemistry was there!! Their acting was great, and of course, I never doubted the quality of the series. Actually, that’s exactly what made me complete it. So, for the sake of the quality, even though the story was terrible, it’s a 7.5/10 for me.

L'amertume a pris le pas sur la douceur…

Sur les premiers épisodes, Bittersweet Love était un paradoxe pour moi. D'ordinaire, les personnages aussi miséreux n'ont pas assez de force pour m'émouvoir. Xiao Fan ne m'a pas émue jusqu'aux larmes, mais assez pour que mon cœur se serre une ou deux fois. Et puis l'histoire n'a rien fait pour plonger réellement dans les pensées du personnage…

Lu Xiao Fan (Guan Yue) est pitoyable. C'est un pantin méprisé, humilié et rabaissé. Enfant du milieu, il ne sert que de monnaie d'échange, un sacrifice offert pour gagner les faveurs du clan Bei et assurer un meilleur avenir à l'aîné et la cadette. Sans tomber dans la psychologie de comptoir, Xiao Fan est plus complexe qu'on ne le croit. Sa famille l'a toujours considéré comme inutile, comme un garçon timide incapable de dire non. La méchanceté est un poison, et ce poison porte les visages de la famille Lu. Xiao Fan m'a fait mal au cœur parce que son existence consiste à se sacrifier pour sa famille.

Le problème d'un tel personnage c'est que sur le papier, on comprend ce qu'il est, comment il se sent et ce qu'il pense. Dans une adaptation télévisée, le spectateur n'a rien de tout ça et doit se débrouiller. Et lorsque vous avez un acteur comme Guan Yue qui conserve le même visage inexpressif tout du long, c'est compliqué. Au début, je voyais de l'usure, du sacrifice et de la passivité. Au bout du quatrième épisode, je ne voyais qu'un personnage insipide et mou. Exactement comme dans la majorité des FL dans les romances modernes chinoises que je n'apprécie pas.

Bei Lu Qing (Zhou Ning Jia) est beau, riche, populaire et froid. Il est l'archétype de la romance chinoise moderne, mais dans le contexte des années 1990. Il ne partage rien, ni avec le spectateur, ni avec l'homme qu'il est supposé aimer. La plupart du temps, il est seulement responsable des malentendus et tient Xiao Fan pour responsable. Zhou Ning Jia possède un joli sourire, mais plus de contraste aurait été agréable.

La famille Lu est méprisable. Le père est un minable avide d'argent. La sœur est arrogante et mal élevée. Le frère est abject. Il n'a jamais rien assumé, rejetant toujours la faute sur les autres et demandant toujours de l'aide pour s'en sortir. Quant à la mère, elle cache ses cartes derrière une affection et une chaleur de façade. Leur chute est l'un des meilleurs moments de cette série.

J'ai aussi été surprise de changer d'avis sur Lin Zi Yang. Lui qui paraissait aussi méchant que les autres, il est bien plus amical que la série ne le montre. Mais bon, il faut attendre le dernier épisode pour le savoir.

Et c'est là que j'ai un problème : la narration. Je n'ai pas lu l'œuvre originale, mais le rythme est tellement pénible. Après dix épisodes à voir Xiao Fan se faire malmener, les choses bougent (un peu, n'abusons pas), pour finir par un acte final d'une banalité et d'une paresse spectaculaire. Attendre le dernier épisode pour tout révéler, ça semble logique dans un roman, mais dans une adaptation télévisée ? On a besoin de davantage qu'un simple type qui prépare une soupe, baisse son pantalon sans sourciller et d'un autre qui agit comme bon lui semble.

Outre la tentative de critique des classes sociales et tout le reste, on se retrouve devant un énième BL qui perd son potentiel au profit d'une romance sans âme, dans un rythme plat et où ça se termine sur la pire note possible.

En bref, Bittersweet Love ne trouve aucun équilibre entre amertume et douceur.

Unexpected

The ending is deffo unexpected but so is the whole story itself imo.

The trailer made it seem the student writes a story, teacher is intrigued, but student writes scary thriller horror stuff and teacher investigates and turn out its a memoir. BUT in actuality, its quite the opposite.
It also made it seem the writer was psychotic but he was but not really so yk.

I have to say the ml is a brillant actor, the grandpa on the other hand, during the emotionally intense scenes, he seemed a bit lacking but idk im just a girl.

The whole story had me guessing and turns out the writer is like a pathological liar while grandpa is delusional, but I really loved the writer's backstory and his revenge but one thing I HATED was bro did not need to sleep with the wife, it was icky.

The ending ending tho where the guy comes back and was like " yo got a another story" and grandpa was like "yeah?" (smirks)
really highlighted his.. greed?? actually idk what that was supposed to imply.

Also one thing i wanna know is who is the guy in the hospice, so called "father" where the ml is like "thanks for taking care of me before broiske" that was a bit sus, and i feel like should have been developed more cus like... who was that.
Also did bro's mum really run away? liek he was an orphan so yeah? no? idk...

Overall, seeing how this shit was cramped (not really) into a 6 episode show was really impressive, i really liked it.
Would recommend!

A drama you won’t want to drop.

I have stopped too many dramas early on these days. I was beginning to wonder if the drama world had run its course with me. Seven years in since discovering K dramas and one yr in with C dramas. This drama has me back and wide eyed. It too 3 episodes of me really trying to get there but I focused and so glad I did.
This young FL is everything. I know she started acting at six so she is not new to the game but she is only 18 now and I would of thought she was much older due to her acting skill of course her beauty is beyond and definitely makes the watch that much more intriguing. The ML is a great match (love him so that was easy).
The plot is worth doing a little due diligence. I use this website to check story line and reviews also help me understand plot. The cast pics with names is very helpful. I think a story board with pics and names would be an added bonus if it ever comes to pass. I have seen it on other sites.
Watch this drama. You will be pleased I think.

Don't read the novel before watching this

Really enjoyed this one but I'm glad I didn't check the novel first. Once you know the original characters are in their late 30s you just can't undo it and the actors appear terribly miscast, they're just too young... At least take actors in their 30s. It's particularly true for Shu Yuan in my opinion.

Both actors are too skinny but Zhang Zhun who is acted by Shu Yuan is supposed to be thin but muscular... I would say, think Bruce Lee though probably not as muscular. Skinny asian but does martial art so beautiful body overall, pretty firm and solid... They mention several times in the drama about how beautiful he is... It's only when I checked the novel (which is much more graphic but also gives way more in terms of the psychology of the characters) that I understood why they were always talking about Zhang Zhun's beauty... He's got a very beautiful face very "uke" like, so beautiful that he attracts men but also is the reason why he doesn't get lead roles as his face is a bit too pretty, too feminine.

However Shu Yuan... Well face is all personal preference so I won't go there but he is JUST skinny. Not muscular skinny... Just skinny, his body which should be lean and honed by years of martial arts isn't there... This is not the body of somebody who exercises...

The vibe is also too youthful. The novel sells mature characters, you get two baby faced actors.

In fact, apart from the height and acting ability, they're just wrong for the role... No matter how good your actors are if their physique doesn't fit the roles given it's gonna be a hard sell.

Now... Was it bad... No it wasn't... One of the best BLs I've watched... I'm gonna stick with my 9 ratings BUT ... I would recommend to anyone interested in the novel, to read it AFTER watching the drama... Otherwise you won't be able to appreciate it for what it is.

The novel is way better though... It goes darker but both love stories are also more heart-wrenching. Truly beautiful... AND you get epilogues for both stories so that's also great.

I don't think they could have gone farther than what they did in this adaptation though, so overall, well done China.

EDIT: Rated down to 8.5 in the end... It's just that I can't with the casting choice... Again I understand the logic of choosing younger actors given the censorship in China... Might be awkward for older ones... But in that case... Well it just doesn't work for me... One character is supposed to be 38, the other 36... These two are just too young. Still worth the watch though, it was a good show.

Earth and Mix are two of my favorite actors because they always give everything they have and then some to their characters. And A Tale of Thousand Stars was no exception. I absolutely loved this story from beginning to end. It’s such a unique and beautifully told story. With a fantastic plot, well-developed characters, and poetic direction, the series manages to blend romance, drama, and social commentary while tackling important issues like inequality, rural education, and environmental preservation with a rare level of sensitivity. It explores deeply moving themes that make us stop and think about what really matters in life, without ever losing its emotional core.

Tian is a wealthy, spoiled, impulsive, and disillusioned young man who receives the heart of Torfun, a volunteer teacher who died in an accident. Driven by curiosity and guilt, Tian decides to follow in Torfun’s footsteps and moves to a remote village where she used to teach. There, he meets Phupha, a reserved forest officer, and little by little, the two build a relationship filled with tension, affection, and personal growth. The chemistry between Tian and Phupha develops slowly and naturally, reflecting a relationship that grows through time, shared experiences, and truly listening to each other.

One of the series’ biggest strengths is its unique setting: a remote village in rural Thailand, where we get to experience a way of life that feels very different from what we’re used to seeing in other Thai BLs. The scenery is simply breathtaking. The entire cast deserves praise for bringing such charismatic and believable characters to life. But Earth and Mix completely steal every scene they’re in. I honestly can’t imagine anyone else playing Tian and Phupha, two such complex and multifaceted characters. They have incredible chemistry, and you can really feel it in the fascinating dynamic between them. Earth is so convincing as a forest officer that this image of him has been permanently etched into my mind. And Mix embodies his character perfectly, especially through his introspective performance.

A Tale of Thousand Stars is a deeply moving and beautifully crafted series, with stunning cinematography, that has definitely earned a spot on my list of the best Thai dramas. Highly recommended!

PS: I’ve always thought Mix and Khaotung looked alike, but after watching this series, I’m convinced they’re twin brothers from different mothers. 55555

Not for me

The concept of the series is really interesting, and I really like the initial idea. But falling in love with a robot that literally has the face you created yourself is kind of crazy 😭. I’m sorry, but I feel like the build-up happens way too fast. A kiss by episode 3, when AI hasn’t even been around for a month, and Gen is already starting to develop feelings… Even though we know everything tends to move quickly in fiction, that was already a small issue for me.

However, I love the fact that AI, the robot, and the scientist can switch places. I think the concept is super interesting, and I was genuinely curious to see how they were going to explore that later on.

Episode 4 was so crazy, but I really liked it! We got to learn more about Gen’s relationship with her mother, but also about what it means to be the eldest sister when a parent leaves. The whole idea of responsibility, sacrifice, and the pressure that can be placed on the eldest child was really interesting to see.

Well… I finally finished the series, and I really wanted to love it, but honestly, I just couldn’t get into it. I felt like Gen and AI’s relationship was much more physical than emotional. Every time I watched one of their intimate moments, I kept thinking about the movie Companion 😭.

It was mainly the emotional development of their relationship that didn’t convince me. And it’s not even really about AI being a robot, because I’m used to these kinds of stories and that doesn’t bother me at all. It’s more about the way their relationship was developed that just didn’t work for me. I think I’m simply not the target audience for this series.

That being said, I have absolutely nothing negative to say about the actresses or the production. They clearly did a great job.

An overall decent drama that stands in the shadow of its own insufferable ML

The plot was surprisingly decent and exciting (albeit cliched sometimes). I think there's a good balance between the progression of the investigation and the, uhh, "romantic moments"...

The acting was fine. The interrogation scene with the lady, the confrontation between Taeseon and you-know-who in the later episodes, and the rooftop scene were on a level I haven't seen often in BLs.

Production-wise, the way it was shot and the use of music, it reminded me of Semantic Error a lot. All in all, it was pleasant to watch.

Unfortunately, the ML was a menace and the romantic development was full of the worst possible tropes prevalent in asian produced m/m. The first kiss was an assault from the ML, the second happened when the MC was drunk off his ass. They also had sex while the MC was drunk off his ass. Like, just imagine two sober consenting men getting into bed together... apparently that's very hard to write these days. The ML is a run-of-the-mill possessive, obsessive, self-entitled asshole. I know he """has his reasons"""" but I really did not enjoy how he was written at all. He could've been a Laurent, but instead he's washed-out m/m top fodder. Anyway. All this to say that I liked him best when he was begging and near tears.

On top of that, we were cursed with a handful of truly cringeworthy moments. The "are you cold?" back hug, to name one, which felt so out of pocket considering their dynamic at that point. It was obvious some of these moments happened just for the sake of playing into m/m fanservice, which was very disappointing cause on the other hand we had moments like the knee touching which I felt was very organic and sensual.

Plots this season are more realistic but with its pros and cons

I felt that this season started off with the best case out of the bunch. The an glass family case was the perfect mix of acting, scare, dramatic comedic moments and actual case solving. The subsequent cases were okay but the "side quests" of advancing the various plot gradually outweighed the "main quest" of deducing the culprit.

I am on the fence about how I feel about that as I have watched shows on both ends of the spectrum (see crime scene and also busted!) Here I felt it was executed fairly well albeit I thought we could have had a bit more problem solving from the cast and clue finding. I also wished we had a bit more of outdoor sets but that might be more of a practical choice if anything

Ding cheng xin was interestingly a really good addition to the cast. He was the youthful kind of infectious laughter energy which the show needed to make it more comedic in a good way. I would love to see him come back for another season. Our usual cast was great as usual. However i didn't exactly enjoy the rotating guests, some of them yes some of them not so much. Wang yu wen and zhang ruo nan were standouts in my opinion.

Hopefully we get a season 5 again next year because this has now become something i look forward to every year

I'm currently watching this Chinese drama and I'm struggling to finish it.

I really liked how it started and I adored the male lead, played by actor Li Yun Rui, as the character Xing Wu. The false impression he leaves at the beginning is only in the eyes of the female character, not in that of the viewer.
This is the first time I've really liked dyed blond hair on a Chinese actor, and I was actually sorry when he returned to his natural hair color.

I liked all the actors, but the series dragged on for too long and dealt with uninteresting topics, deliberately omitting the topics that interested the viewer, namely the romance between the two main characters.
I would have liked to see their relationship develop more than to be shown that, despite losing everything, you can start over and succeed. I understood the idea that by working hard you can be successful, that by insisting, you can convince, and that from new ideas, old businesses can be saved. It's just that this thing kept dragging on in the series, and the love story hasn't even started, and I have a few more episodes and I'm finishing the series.
Well, at the moment I'm not watching for the plot anymore, but for the actor, whom I will definitely watch in other works as well.

It's a shame that they dragged out something that could have been good with uninteresting and seemingly endless topics.

Unfortunately, I give it a 7.

this is my first earthmix series, even though i've heard of all their other ones and i'm so pleased! their chemistry is insane and i really enjoyed wen chasing jim 7/8 episodes and jim giving in to his stupid logic in the last. i know he had an unresolved past but even when wen took him to the other woman and helped him move on, jim still was reluctant. anyway, they were so entertaining to watch! while i don't think their acting is the strongest, they still managed to pull off the sad and angsty scenes really well! i even shed a few tears. i feel like their story was cut short due to only 8 episodes (i was so shocked when i found out it was only that many) so i felt that both: wen chased after jim for too long/jim pushed wen away for too long. as i said, it just felt like wen was pushed away right until the last minute. it was obvious they had mutual feelings but i still would've liked it to feel like i didn't just press fast forward. nonetheless, they were so adorable to watch and they have a truck together!! lemme just order some Chicken Rice, i'll be back

AHH, my cuties!! as probably the majority of watchers have done, i watched this series and even discovered it because of geminifourth. if you couldn't tell already, i am a sucker for any kind of media that brings disability awareness to the table. i loved their little use of sign language between them and their notepad 📝. i got frustrated with jim more times than i can count but the times when i was most furious is when he was scolding li meng - especially in THAT scene. honestly, a relationship like heart and li meng's - in any case: romantic, platonic, relative etc - is such a clear case that soulmates exist. to think that heart would probably still be stuck inside his boring house, his parents ashamed of him and never living like the normal person that he is if he hadn't met li meng. i can't beat to think about it!

"deaf people are the loneliest people. they see everything, but they can't hear a thing. if no one talks to them, they won't understand anything at all."

this quote actually sat with me for a while. i genuinely had to research if deaf people could still speak because every deaf people i have seen in media either doesn't speak well or at all. when i saw people say that they have been deaf since their toddler years and even birth and they can speak clearly with 98% accuracy, i was like oh!! which is what made the quote stick so well. if no one had bothered to teach those people how to regain their speech and just disregarded them, they wouldn't be able to communicate as well as they would. especially since so many people don't bother to learn sign language so those that can't speak are just stuck.
li meng hearing heart speak is genuinely so heartwarming. even when heart spoke for the 4th time in front of him, he was still amazed 🥹. especially since he said li meng's name. i will love geminifourth even more for this representation and amazing acting 🤍

☆ alan and wen
oh, i was NOT ready for all of this angst. i will never tire of saying this - first and khaotung are my favourite pair in terms of acting ability. they make me feel like im on a rainbow in the clouds but then suddenly there's just a fucking thunderstorm from nowhere and now im miserable. first was so good as alan - even though the character was more than partly in the wrong. i swear, every time this man was crying, he did it like he had bottled up his feelings for 10 years. mix also played into the angst of alanwen really well. his emotion was at its max and i honestly was so emmersed.

"but now you like chicken better than beef, right?" / "you were not this sarcastic back then." / "i have always been like this. you just started to not like it."

alan, who taught you these ways. stop playing with my heartstrings!! i absolutely adored the constant metaphors this series used to describe the character's feelings towards one another. i will never say that wen was in the clear because it is so so wrong continue being with somebody for anything other than love - ESPECIALLY sleeping with them. that whole scene was just so not funny. #gmmtvlovesemployingprettycriers

☆ praew and saleng
this is the part when i wish this series was longer. their story deserved to be shared as much as the others, if not more!! poverty pregnancy is such a curse, i can imagine. when praew still had to work while she was pregnant because they didn't have the money 💔. oh girl, just saw you want my money; it's all yours. i feel like this mark is one of those gmmtv actors you just manage to see in every other series that you watch. like how high are the bills?! but i love this character, and obviously mark himself 🤍

☆ overall
although this seems like an adorable, heartfelt, cozy bl, to me it actually has a lot of serious topics discussed: poverty (pregnancy), disease, loss + grief, politics (about lgbtq+ rights at the time) and of course, disability. i think that's what makes it stand out from other cozy bls because it has all of these serious issues mixed into the story and handles them very well. from what i have seen previously, im pretty sure that earthmix are strong advocaters for the lgbtq community, so when jim and wen were talking about thailand in 2022/2023 and talking about the lack of same-sex marriage laws, i thought that really fit them. the discussion of poverty is huge in this series, and as it should be! even now, the world is covered in poverty as people wonder if they'll get to eat tomorrow. what with the wars (PLURAL) going on, poverty grows every day. i just wish everyone got the chance to dream 💔
