If You Like a Good Reincarnation Story

Reincarnation must be trending in Kdramas because this is the 3rd one I've seen this year, and they've all be good. The first three episodes are as cute as can be. Rowoo did an excellent acting job in presenting the conflicting aspects of his character's relationship to Jo Bo Ah's character. Does he need her....does he disdain her....is he just using her....does he like her....or is he just frustrated at wanting her to cure him? The push/pull element of the storyline really grabs you and brings you in. Kudos to Rowoo for simultaneously being cute, aggravating, alluring, distant, funny, sad, and just an all-around emo person in the beginning. He really did a superb acting job!!

Then the storyline changes. The middle is a tad slower than the beginning or the end. But this is necessary to develop the sub-plots in the story, and establish the back story of unrequited love between Aeng Cho and Jang Mu Jin. I love, love, loved the historical romance in this story. It filled in the blanks for why these two odd ball characters were attracted to each other.. The secondary characters added much to the overall storyline, and I absolutely cheered when the characters played by Lee Bong Ryun (one of my all time favorite actresses) and Hyun Bong Sik fell in love.

As the story developed, so did the plot lines. I was surprised at the point when I said to myself, "Wow, this went from cute to dark." The story led by its excellent cast had a wide array of plots bringing out all sorts of emotions in the viewer. I laughed, I cringed, I feared, I was intrigued, I smiled, I tried to figure out "who dun it?", I cheered, I applauded,, and all of this kept me tuned in. I could only watch 2 episodes each week, and I couldn't wait until the next 2 dropped. The ending was mysterious. Perhaps a foreshadowing of what will be in Season 2. This was well written and had an excellent cast. If I were to add anything more, it would be to add a dynamite soundtrack. Go watch it! It is well worth the time!!!

overall its good

this season is not bad, but if we compare it to s1 of course it loses, s1 was perfect i had nothing to complain about, no flaws imo.
this season is not great but not bad, i gave it a good rating because its still good, its just that i feel like its a bit messy, and dragging, i loved the first half more than the second half
i want to mention what i didnt like:
i feel that there is a lot of plotholes, i have seen some comments and its not only me who think that the start of this season didnt make sense why the director deleted Pang's memories but left wave and everyone else , they will of course make him remember his memories back ,no? or maybe it wasnt explained well im not sure but i see that im not the only one confused about that.
then we had one ep full of one flashback and it felt like too much time was wasted, they also introduced the minister and Darin as if they are important characters, but they suddenly disappeared? hello?
Pang , i love him but the whole show the missions were failure after failure, he refused the director's help to make his potential stronger but in the end he was able to control the director? im sorry but i wasnt convinced, i mean if they showed him caring to make his potential stronger id be convinced, but he was like "no i cant" while the director has his power at full capacity but because of a moment of weakness he lost it all? its not that i want him to win, no of course i want Pang to win ,but maybe if the events were more convincing it could have been better, it also doesnt look like Pang have the strongest potiential even when they kept mentionning that, its Grace who have the best one, without her they werent about to win. even his power of controlling minds doesnt work on her
i want to say i wish we got the story of the twins, we got one for almost all the main characters but not the twins (just a wish)
i want to also say i did love the ending tho, that they will not lose their power unless they want to, that they can choose btw an ordinary life or not, they have a choice
the main thing i loved about this season is Pang and Wave friendship, it was so good i almost started to think that they maybe have a crush on each others
if there is more shows like this one, supernatural etc (with a good plot) dont hesitate to recommend to me, i like shows that have a story like this one, and thank you

The firsts in a relationship

I'm sobbing. They are so sweet, so domestic.

The talk about first times it's interesting, it's not only about Apple Pie, or sex. But it's about their relationship. And it's so beautiful, that they find happiness in each other. Nozue new hobby of cooking, bcs of Togawa, it's so sweet too.

And god knows that I almost cried with the marry me in the ending. Oh my god. I love when queer people have the chance to MARRY. To be happily married. In Japan, same-sex marriage is not legalized, but marriage it's about emotions and connections too. So, it's still so beautiful.

I love this.

It's incredible, beautiful, and full of deep meanings.

The plot is simple but beautiful. I love when BL series have protagonists older, since the majority of them are with people in their twenties, queer people exist in all ages and we don't have so much representation of older queer people.

Since it's a Japanese work, they tend to follow 2 paths: Very camp or more melancholy. This is a little melancholy, but just a little, and in some points about age, life, and work. In general, it's refreshing.

Both actors are extremely good, their performance was amazing and intense. It looks so real.

The photography it's beautiful, it's probably one of the most beautiful confession scenes that I have ever seen, both aesthetically and in the dialogue.

That's such an work of art.

1930s saved the rating

To say the truth the story of 1930s is really touching and beautiful...
But the execution of the drama isn't good.
probably that's the reason why it is not famous,
They used repetitive scenes again and again to kill the time and the present day story is purely bland which was majority of this drama.if someone just watch the 1st , 15th and 16th episode the story will be clear to them
The characters
The charcter of Jeon seol and Ryu soo Hyun was pretty much alike and have the same traits
But Han se ju and seo Hwi young seems completely different person. I loved Hwi young, he was calm , scheming, rebel but sympathetic he knew how to love and was ready to sacrifice himself for the country the chooses his responsibility over his emotions while Han se ju is arrogant, dumb and self centred ..... specially I hate the hair cut of seju it's completely changed his appearance from Hwi young.....it's really very hard to believe that seju is Hwi young's reincarnation
I loved Yoo Jin oh / shin yool character
If they just made the series for 1930s it would had been a great series ,the story of freedom fighters
It's a avarage series with a touching past story........

One of the best kdramas from 2023

I started watching this drama two months ago without any expectations, and just because I like Rowoon and Jo Bo Ah. I have to be sincere but the first two- three episodes weren’t the greatest, and at that point I wasn’t liking Jang Shin Yu at all, but then episode 4 was the light at the end of the tunnel. That episode is one of my favorite one from the whole drama. It has the cheesiest phrases ever. So you will be laughing like crazy after watching it.
This drama isn’t for everyone because at some point there were so many plots that maybe for some could be distracting or annoying but everything had a reason.
I really liked the chemistry between them! They were adorable together. And they started hating each other and then loving deeply and their love surpassed the barriers of time and it was proved that they were destined to be together forever.
I have to say that this is my favorite performance of Rowoon, his portrayal of SY was top notch in so many ways and has improved a lot since his last drama.
I really will miss this drama ???

Cute little pass time story

It's a cute little Story about Wen Ning and A Yuan.
I liked it a lot since Wen Ning was my favourite character (after Xue Yang xD).
The CGI was worse than in The Untamed which led to a few laughter here and there and if that doesn't bother you, go for it. Watch it.
It's adorable to be honest xD
The story was a bit confusing and didn't come full circle but I could overwatch that.
It's a nice pass time thing to watch if you got around 90 minutes to spare.

I'm off watching the other Spin Off movie of the untamed!

Truth or Lie ~ sometimes it was hard to tell

Oct 2023
I find Hwang Min-hyun a joy to watch, so I'll be honest, I've a feeling I might have got a bit frustrated with parts of this, if the lead hadn't held my attention quite as much! (and no, I don't follow him as an Idol).

Nice cast; loved both Seo Ji-hoon and Yun Ji-on's portrayals of their characters too; the latter especially. Both tugged at my heart strings.

The ladies held their own as well and whilst I am not a big fan of Kim So-hyun (I can't quite explain why there are aspects of her acting, that just don't click with me), I quite liked her in this. A favourite character was Cassandra / Yoon Ye Seul (a Tarot reader and friend/colleague of Sol-hee in their coffee shop). Character Hwang Cho-rok was definitely my least favourite. I just found her irritating and the drama wouldn't have suffered without her ? The mothers of both lead characters were awful, too. Do-ha's should have been locked up! :~D Sol-hee's was yet another leeching parent who blames all her woes on her daughter. I am honestly so tired of K-drama parents that use their kids (and kids being targeted for things their parents did, like owing money, or going to prison). The originality is gone, it's old and writers need to up their game.

However, the story is both fun at times and touching, with a murder mystery, pinch of corruption and some threat thrown in for good measure. Several episodes into the drama, I had an inkling who the culprit might be, but I was never 100% sure about it, which is good.

I wasn't convinced by the leads' chemistry, but they were not a dreadful match either. I have to say, HMH's somehow vulnerable and withdrawn character in this, captivated me and sometimes he reminded me a teeny bit of Cha Eun-woo.

I did find the sound effects for when Sol-hee heard the truth or a lie, to be very confusing; maybe that's just me though. Also, there were times when Do-ha's anxiety around wearing a mask got forgotten completely and it got a bit silly; I was glad when he got rid of it altogether.

The OST fit nicely and HMH also sings a track in it (it's called Alarm).

At the end of the day this is a light drama that makes an enjoyable enough watch, with a neatly wrapped up ending.

Bunch of indecisive characters playing circus

I'll be damn honest, the plot had potential.
Something piques your mind when you read the synopsis, that this drama could be about a potential reunion of a college couple.
But things aren't that simple.
This drama is a mess.
It's like the writer took a Bunch of indecisive characters playing circus.

The actors were really good but what's the point when you're not clear with communication?
The fundamental lacking in this drama is proper communication skills.
It's horrendous if you look at it.
It's a joke.
Everybody is stalling, each and every one of them.
Nobody talks straightforwardly.
Buts and ifs and no answers and pretension from your own pov.

Everybody's sad and gloomy.
The plot development reverts back and forth which annoys you even more coz the present is not gonna change itself unless the characters themselves change.

It baffles it that most audience in this review section rated this drama higher.
Women love to watch illogical and wasteful emotional distress for sure.
They thrive on it.
Such high ratings prove it.

But to me, this drama was a joke.
Definitely not recommended unless you're a person who thrives on such cheap pleasures of wasteful emotional distress.

If only they cared....

An okay first half followed by a significantly worse second half but that wasn't enough as it fumbled the landing even harder. The drama massively under-delivered on the ending and everything it was building up for 24 episodes. The most laughable aspect of the ending was the antagonist, he was shown as a powerful big threat just to be dealt with in the most comical way possible at the end. The fantasy elements were passable with nothing outrageous other than the messy introduction. I certainly don't miss Bae Yong Joon, kinda under-delivering on his role as the main protagonist. Meanwhile, Lee Ji Ah earlier carrier was much more interesting and enjoyable than her latest roles.

Underrated, Thrilling supernatural crime show

I liked this series very much. There were none of those typical "filler scenes". Everything was important. I especially liked the special effects when Kang San uses his powers and the friendship between him and Dong Joo.
The plot is very typical for a Korean TV series. A sardistic antagonist, a big political corruption scandal, the police are useless at the beginning but the big hero at the end. The main characters harmonise well.
Overall, it was a very good thriller. For me, it is not a drama because there is no love story. The series was exciting and I think it has repeat potential.
Careful: spoilers!

The only criticism for me is Myung Seok. He was at a crossroad when he planted the wiretap. I would have liked to see the betrayal of this family. Because now he has exploited the weakness of his brothers for his own selfish goal. That, to me, is typical of Koean television. I liked the idea of him getting on the good side and staying with Dong Joo and Kang San.

Amazing

I love this drama so so so much. I found out about this drama through youtube and the fact that it stars a kpop idol, I just knew I had to watch. I do not stan WayV or any of the NCT units but I might start now because oh my god I loved Yan Yue so much. He is responsible, respectful, he cooks for her, he has good communication skills (for the most part), he's kind, he protects her from her sh*tty ex, and he is utterly gorgeous. What more can I wish for in a male lead? I also really loved An Ran. I don't mind the older/younger trope, as long as it's a reasonable gap, and I really like the way they set her up as slightly immature for her age so they balanced each other well. I also love love love that she protects him just as much as he protects her. They didn't set them up to be unequal, they both give an equal amount to the relationship. I just adore them so much, I don't know else how to express that anymore though without spoiling a lot. So onto my babies, Ying Jun and Meng Yao. I am a big sucker for the enemies to lovers trope, it never gets old for me. I really enjoyed that it didn't jump immediately from enemies to lovers though, that they actually set up a friendship first. Then we had the trouble period or as I like to call it, the Ying Jun not recognising his own feelings nor Yao Yaos. It's ok though, he figured it out eventually and they were so precious together.
Speaking of Ying Jun, can I just applaud the writers for giving us a completely platonic male/female friendship between Ying Jun and An Ran? No one sided feelings, he didn't like her in the past, they are just purely platonic besties and I love it!! Their friendship is so cute and wholesome. Speaking of cute and wholesome friendships, An Ran and Yao Yao were so lovely. I won't lie, when Yao Yao was introduced I was expecting her to be the second fl and for their friendship to be kind of surface level but no. They are supportive and loving and it's amazing. Also get you a friend who you can call on the phone while you're literally in the bathroom, I love it. The other employees were also lovely, I loved them all so much. They cared for and supported each other through everything, it was beautiful.
All that being said, I really think you should watch this. It's honestly my new favourite contemporary drama and I hope it will be yours too. The sound track is also really good, I'll be adding a few to my playlist. 11/10 stars<3

Give it a try!

**Disclaimer: This is just my opinion, please don't take anything I say personally. We don't have to agree and I'm not here to argue with anyone.***

"Destined With You" is one of those dramas that you have to stick with until it gets better. I’m not going to lie it was so hard finding motivation to keep watching but after episode 7 it started to pick up and I have to say I started enjoying the plot twists, mystery and thriller aspect of it. It is seriously so interesting. I especially loved the backstory of Mu Jin and Aeng Cho. Though their love was ill-fated from the start you can see he killed her to ensure they would not dismember her and that she would live on through the curse. The fact that Mu Jin said in another life let them be happy… and this life they want to be happy but were unable to because of the curse and that crazy psychopath of a man (Na Jung-Beom) was so frustrating and unfair.

Rowoon looks so gorgeous in this drama… that was enough to keep me watching haha ? Idk but something about him with the slick back hair as the serious / brooding lawyer is. He also was giving a buzz and then when its all combed down he looks like a cute puppy / golden retriever. AHHH I love how he’s giving us rangeeee and I can’t wait to see him in his next projects.

Bo Ah is such a good actress the way she conveys what she’s feeling through her eyes alone is literally a talent.

For once I actually prefer the latter half of a drama rather than the usual trend of the drama falling off / being disappointing the end.

Let’s talk about Rowoon and Bo Ah's chemistry in episodes 13-15, 15 especially – it was off the charts! I'm talking about that kiss, whew! — I can see why shaman lady (Eun Wol) called the next morning and was like Shin Yu and Hong Jo would be conceiving a girl. I mean, I got pregnant just watching that scene haha. Jokes aside, I'm not sure why people were doubting their incredible chemistry, but you know, there will always be haters or people who don't receive media in the same way and have no appreciation for the effort / artistry that goes into it. I think the writers did a good job of neatly wrapping up the ending. Obviously they would have needed more episodes to really delve into the magic and the lore of Hong Jo’s shaman powers / lineage etc… but so far they did well with the little they were able to keep / use.

I also liked the various side characters stories especially between Mr. Gong and Ms. Ma. They were kind of on / and off all the time but I'm happy they worked out their differences and got married in the end. At first I did not like Hong Jo's workers but I warmed to them because they are very funny / silly. I also liked the side story about Shin Yu's mother and father... it seemed like they were always playing cat and mouse with each other, and you thought they were going to divorce - but in the end, they're going to have a baby. To say I was surprised is an understatement. To be honest, I thought the mom was starting to like Shin Yu's lawyer friend and that they'd end up together, but the drama didn't go in that direction at all.

I didn't particularly like Mr. Kwon / Jae Gyeong, but I'm glad he remained a good guy until the end. Life is all about timing, and he completely missed his with Hong Jo, so he can only blame himself. I thought it was a little cheeky of him to tell her that if she doesn't marry Shin Yu within the next six months, she should call him, but whatever - at least it ended amicably.

One aspect of the show that I dislike is their inability to finish the shamanism/curse storyline. They expect me to believe that the curse has been magically broken and Shin Yu is completely healed? Honestly, I was wondering if there was something missing or if there was more to it because the final scene shows Mu Jin, of the past ,walking away with a spell book of the heavens or something? I'm also curious if Hong Jo's near-death experience, which included almost being poisoned and then being resuscitated... is what broke the curse in the end? Little details like this being forgotten / not being explained is what kind of irritated me about the drama and made me take off points.

In my opinion, the ending was very touching and adorable... I was smiling the entire time and was relieved that it didn't end on a sad / bittersweet note with the main characters suffering. Spoiler alert: Hong Jo is not pregnant, but they will get married and live happily ever after. It took them 300 years to get here, but they did it!

The OST they chose is just so beautiful and heartfelt. The songs perfectly complement the story and will stay with you long after you finish watching the drama.

I for one am impressed and proud of myself for not dropping this drama and I guess I would rewatch it for the vibes and cute moments.

If you enjoy light fantasy, mystery, and reincarnation dramas, you should give this one a shot. Hopefully, you will not be disappointed.

With that, I give this drama a resounding 8/10.

I thought this was cute!

??? I thought this was adorable. I didn't like them much in TharnType or Don't Say No, but I ended up loving this! I like that their dynamics switched in these roles compared to the roles they usually take on personality wise.

The cringe parts are phased out after a few episodes, they're also intentional and I found them funny, but that's just me.

It IS funny to me that out of everything that happened, the notes are what did them in. The episode 11 curse. ? but overall this was a pretty low angst show and I had no issues with the NC scenes, they were all well done!

I tend to like most BLs that get review bombed. ? I enjoyed it. Super cute and hilarious!

Melodrama of the Month Award winner

It was painstaking watching the main characters being tortured emotionally or physically for thirty-nine episodes. I am just relieved that it is over, and that the characters are out of sight, out of mind. Cheng Yi and Zhang Yu Xi kept the drama flowing, even when it dragged with the singing and evilness on screen. Cheng Yi is the official Melodrama King. Yunshen suffered physically and emotionally, and cried in two-thirds of the drama, Fu Yunshen would have lived a happy life with a different mother. Zhang Yu Xi is Main Lead Queen of the Month. Zhu Jiu put up with a lot of sh^& from Mother Jiang Shu Ning.

This should be labeled as a musical melodrama. The singing was extraneous, overt and repetitive. If the director wanted so much singing, he should have told the actors to sing these songs, instead of using phantom singers. Otherwise the BGM was very good.

It was no surprise that the two pathetic villains, Fu Xi Zhou and Jiang Shu Ning, had their redemption at the end. They were unscrupulous, vindictive, manipulative. They should have died instead of the nicer people, Grandpa, Dr Ji, Aunty Dr Addy, Grandma, Zhu Jiu's Mother and Father. I was cringing when Ruan Ruan and Xi Zhou reunited at the end, and had babies.

The singing diluted the emotion on screen. If they had trimmed the singing and some of the episodic content, it would have been very effective as a 30 episode drama.

Final rating: 8, with deductions for the singing and the pathetic villains and their evilness

This drama reminds me of the Kdramas with the drama plot and incessant singing and the song quality. In particular, Yunshen and Zhu Jiu reminded me of Winter Sonata's YuJin and Joon Sang, with their emotional torture and the manipulative mothers.
